We would recommend making some cannabutter with it and bake a nice cake! (although you could use the butter in any recipe)

The butter shouldn’t taste ‘horrific’ just a light bud smell/taste usually.

Plus when you make a sweet treat usually that would mask any unwanted flavours too!

Yes we was always under the impression that you don’t need to decarb AVB, if its a dark green/brown you should be good to start infusing, if its more of a lighter colour maybe a small decarb wouldn’t hurt.

Jesus. This has hit me really hard. I’ve been smoking weed for 30 years. 11 weeks ago I had a huge (tennis ball sized) lump pop out of my neck. Dr diagnosed me as having an infection of the parotid gland (saliva gland). Antibiotics for a week, lump hung around for a month.

Had an ultrasound scan 3 weeks ago, turns out it’s a tumour 😞 Stopped smoking that day. 30 years crashed down on me during that one 15 min appointment.

Was immediately put in the NHS suspect cancer 2 week pathway. Had an FNA (biopsy) and an MRI scan 2 weeks ago. Here I am, awaiting the news. Avoided googling the shit outta this, then stumble across this post. Blown me away a bit. I mean, we all know smoking isn’t big or clever, but this has been the biggest wake up call of my life, obviously.

I am part of a very reputable profession, married for 25 years, 4 kids. The works. Here I am, absolutely petrified waiting on a phone call.

Long story sorry. Thought I’d share tho.

Is the tumour in your parotid gland?
I had one in 2006. Turned out to be a pleomorphic adenoma- the most common kind. Thankfully it is benign and was out and touch wood I’m all good except I have a scar that makes me look like I was a ruffian in my younger years

Like I touched on, I’m (usually!) a rational person, but I haven’t googled anything about this. My wife has tho, a lot, she works within the NHS and has spoken to people in this field. We have an unspoken understanding atm and not really discussing it at all. Her mum passed away very young with a cancer in her neck, I know she’s in bits about this. This is breaking me inside.

It’s a weird limbo we’re in, just waiting for the test results. Should be this week by the looks. My gp phoned me Thursday just gone and explained who is looking at it and where, and the process of diagnosis.

The thought of facial surgery scares the bejesus outta me, but the thought of it not being malignant makes it more bearable.

So I have smoked weed with tobacco for these 30 years. Smoked cigarettes in the 90s, early 00s, then rolling tobacco. Never a ‘heavy’ fag smoker really, but a heavy joint smoker through (weed and tobacco). Bought a mighty vape last year in an effort to kick my combustion habbit. Used it twice as I really didn’t get in with it. Not smoked anything since my scan that confirmed a tumour, 4 weeks ago. Never found quitting so easy. Currently enjoying the benefits of not having a dependency of any sorts for the first time in my adult life. Felling a better dad and husband for it tbh.

Used a lot of chemicals in those 90s/00s years and have had an ‘unhealthy’ relationship with alcohol since covid, which I have got on top of over the last 9 months.

I hope it all works out for you bro! I got a Mighty and tried quitting combustion, was underwhelmed for a long time. Eventually I got a bong adapter for the Mighty to help cool the vapour and it made it more enjoyable than smoking for me.

I know so many people already preach and I don't just wanna be another one, but dry herb vapes truly are a great way to consume. No doubt dry herb vaping is almost certainly way better in terms of health risks than smoking (I also do it as well as edibles). On the other hand, the research on the health risks for dry herb vaping is still extremely limited. Inhaling hot particulates (which still happens with vaping) tends to be no bueno for health.

Very true. We're still kind of in the infancy of cannabis research. We know the long term effects of cigarettes and alcohol but, with the legality of weed over the years, we've still got so many unanswered questions about it. And dry herb vapes really haven't been around that long either. I just hope that we get some conclusive answers in our lifetimes...

I think carts are going to prove a massive roadblock for cannabis development and freedom because of growing health concerns. WithTHCA, D8 & D10 workarounds these are available all across N.America now and the demand is huge with consumers able to puff through 1ml carts or more every single day. Chemical contamination is rife. These things ARE addictive. California is reporting rapidly increasing needs for specialist pulmonary treatments amongst all ages and new clinics are opening rapidly.
Its just the tip of the iceberg...

As much as I want to believe that the convenience and discretion of carts is a positive thing, sadly you're 100% spot on. People doing blinkers and landing themselves in hospital isn't an uncommon occurrence in the US, I think seby G (weedtuber) had an incident like that. People going through a gram of 90%+ THC distillate in a day is just insane on so many levels. And as far as contaminants, I 100% believe there's more contaminated carts in the world than legit ones. By a big margin. From pesticides and vitamin E acetate all the way up to spice-laden disposables now prevalent across the UK. It's really a worrying trend and the demand for carts is going up by the day.....

I wouldn't be surprised at all tbh, 900mg of pure THC every single day cannot be a good thing. Plus there's no entourage effect with disty carts, which is good for some but I personally think the other terps and cannabinoids are what "makes" a high. Even so, rosin/live resin carts must still have 70%+ THC a lot of the time. Overconsumption is the worst thing anyone can do with weed imo, stay within your limits and enjoy it! Don't just get to an 11/10 high all day every day

I've had to work toward being less acidy lately and hoped it would help with my ridiculous tolerance to edibles, it didn't, I had a huge blob of RSO the other night and was nicely toasted yeah but really I should've been dribbling.

Like others have said already there's a few things to consider, some medical conditions, tolerance and even just the way you are wired can play a part, I read a good article the other day talking about a few of these things and about how it can even just be down to our metabolisms.

It could just be tolerance, I recently got some brownies and some gummies, in general my tolerance is a lot higher than average being a long time user, the last batch of gummies I got didn’t get me high and I gave out a few samples I got similar feedback, the new batch I tried the gummies and it took me 3 50mg to get high but it was a creeper, the brownie on the other hand was 300+mg, it didn’t work but 3 hours later I was insanely high to the point where I wasn’t even enjoying it anymore 😭 the brownies are on my menu for super cheap and to be honest I’ll be happy to send you a free sample to try? I like honest feedback since I’m a new vendor I really want to keep my score high 😂 if it’s not getting you high then maybe the tolerance isn’t the issue 😳

I may be completely wrong here; and you may have already tried these things but try:
- Eating with something fatty, thc is fat soluble.
- Take an antacid before eating the edible, I read on one of the posts that some stomachs are more acidic and this can help.

You could try some of MJs pump jack oil, it’s sublingual absorption and may tell you whether your liver is to blame or not 🤣

Appreciate that but lets get one thing clear here, there is nothing wrong with gassed edibles, they were recommended me to a friend, and another friend tried them in person was was stoned from them.

I saw some people on here suggesting your tolerance to edibles is separate to your tolerance to vaping and smoking which I was skeptical about.

My experience either disproves that theory, or just suggests that my liver sucks at the process of coverting THC.

And yes you cannot compare smoking it or dabbing It compared to thc with flower or rosin the high is instant, with edibles it can take up to 3 hours for it to take full effect

There are two main reasons why this will happen.

The first is you are essentially feeling two different highs. D9 is pure THC and it has none of the associated cannabinoids and terpenes. These are what give you the “full high”. RSO etc retains all these so you get the entourage effect with the edibles infused with these.

This falls in to the second reason. Some people get more affect from the other cannabinoids than others, just as people have lower tolerances for THC and vice versa. I can’t smoke bud because I always whitey, yet I can vape D9 until I’m locked to whatever furniture I happen to be lumbered on.

Fun part is trying everything until you find what works 😂

There are always bad apples but they are not the standards.

Sorry to say this info is completely wrong. PGR's used to grow weed force the plant to concentrate growing bud over leaf and stems etc, thats why the bud looks so abnormally large. PGR's are not found naturally in soil and have nothing to do with hydroponics, you can indeed have a completely organic hydro grow and you could also use food that contains PGR's in your soil grow. Also, you will now see many UK based plant food manufactuerers actually write "PGR free" as there have been studies linking PGR's to cancer.

"They are often sold as nutrients, growth boosters, vitamins and hormone enhancers, that can be applied through foliar feeds and root drenches."

They buff up your plant and yes you can use them in soil but it isn't needed since the soil feed the plants with nutes while in hydro you must add the nutes no exeptions.

Abnormally large buds will grow on outside plants with plenty soil space where they can spread their roots freely. You can find videos of plants the size of a smaller house with buds the size of a human head.

I think the confusion is caused because the term 'organic' in food production is a protected term which means no fertilisers or pesticides were used in its production, not just that it is grown in soil.

Sorry I wanted but forgot to touch on the pesticides part which is a very important point.
So the long story short in a well controlled indoor grow environment you do not need to use any harmful pesticides because there's no bugs attacking your plants. This applies to both soil and hydro methods whilest growing outdoors is a constant battle against mites and buds eating your precious babies.
So organic still applies to indoor soil grow and to me at least implies no use of harmful chemicals but some places still add "with exceptions" statement at the end of their explanation:

"Organic foods are foods that are grown and processed using government-regulated farming methods. Organic farming and foods use: No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides (with exceptions)."

"Organic food is produced without artificial chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, or GMOs. It may have more nutrients, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids than non-organic food, but the evidence is mixed."

This info about pests and pesticides is also completely wrong. Pests attack inside just as much as outside, and no growing method will stop this. Most growers use sprays up until the last few weeks of flower or as most organic growers do, they use predatory bugs to eradicate pestes such as spidermite, thrips, hops, springtails etc etc.

Sure they can infest an indoor grow which is why I added "in a well controlled enviroment". An honest good grower will throw away an infested room and sanitised it before restart. I've been there done that we never used any sprays. It can be done in a well controlled enviroment.

Spider mites are the number one reasons growers use indoor pesticides they literarily leave cobwebs covering your plants!

PGR’s were originally manufactured for industrial tomato’s growing industry. And have not been fully tested on the growing and consumption of Cannabis!

They are known to be carcinogenic best stay away if not growing tomatoes on industrial scales!

Reading this tells me you haven't got a clue about growing weed, the pictures above shows two different buds one whats been through a trimming machine. Pgr's have got harmful chemicals in them, using nutrients isn't pgr, pgr are used to bulk up the buds to get a higher yield.

They are literally plant grow regulators not only used to bulk up the buds but all the way through. If they were harmful as you claim they would be banned from the shelves.

You have no real understanding or what either 'PGR' or 'Organic' in relation to cannabis cultivation actually means. There are many nutrients that could be classed as plant growth regulators, some natural, like PK 13/14 (phosphorous and potassium) or you might even say that seaweed and molasses "regulate" a plants growth and hence could be a "natural" PGR.

This is entirely different to synthetic chemicals, such as paclobutrazol and damizonode which are banned in the production of cannabis in California, and used heavily in the production of cannabis in South East Asia, in particular paclobutrazol, a carcinogen which produces very dense buds with little or no sugar leaves.

Wouldn’t that be a bit hypocritical coming from us Biggas who buy untold numbers of these these things on here every single day, often from vendors who have just popped up and without any idea where the products originate or what’s actually in them?…. Just sayin’….

Yeah, you've got a point, but I still think we've got a responsibility as consumers to make sure we know what we're buying as best as possible. As in, we should probably avoid "cali" carts with really thin liquid that's strong enough to knock out horses and maybe some edibles (the classic sprayed nerds ropes) altogether. With bud, if we don't know the source, it's best to get a cheap microscope and inspect things closely. Globs of pesticides/insecticides are sadly pretty common nowadays, and some bud has some pretty damaged, tiny or messy trichomes which could indicate PGRs, bad handling or even that someone has tried to sift the heads before selling it. And with hash, we can do the burn test and the hot water test, which are pretty unscientific but give you an indication of whether you've got clean product. So, I definitely see your point, but I still think it's partially down to us to choose reputable sources, inspect things ourselves and, if a product doesn't have a rating yet, to only buy stuff with less chance of contamination (again, probably avoid untested vapes and commercially produced edibles). And if we get a bad product, we owe it to the community to call it out. There is only so much we as consumers can do, but I think what we can do, we should do

So glad I’m not alone in hating mimosa terps. The first time I smelled/tasted it, I genuinely thought the weed was bogus. Like it had been artificially flavoured with something nasty. Then when I got good mimosa it was the exact same terps. Not for me like.

I’d say Stardawg too, just because it was fuckin everywhere and was normally sub par.

I like Mimosa for the effect and I don't mind the taste. I am not keen on some of the other strains that taste similar like Tangerine Dream so I can see where you're coming from. Citrus strains can be hit and miss on the terps front.

The bud was clearly excellent in every department, probably well worth the money, but the terps ruined it for me. Just tasted artificial, almost like a nicotine vape or something. White Widow

Stuff gives me the shakes and heart palpitations. Had it from different growers at different times, it just disagrees with me.
The Brazilian sativa element is too racy and the Indian indica just melts you. It’s always an intense Indica v Sativa battle.
Usually with hybrids I get the sativa effect then it chills into indica but white widow pummels me with both from the get go and leaves me meditating to the ganja gods with tai chi breathing to alleviate me from the poisonous kiss of White Widow.

Stardawg is like the equivalent of Lambert and butler smokes.

Anything with piney terps for me - just really reminds me of those car air fresheners 🤮🌲 not a fan. Dunno if I am on my own with that one lol

Lemon Tree is the strain I most dislike. I use to love a good lemon skunk or lemon haze 20 years ago. Not the same anymore.

Super silver haze. Smelled like cats piss and had no body high. Muscles felt restless and uncomfortable.

that's an easy answer ... any that don't get me high (normally not a strain blame, more a grower blame) ... so reckons the jackal 😎😎

That's really tough Blazin. I'm going back a bit but if I remember the flavour of ak-47 was too floral for my liking.

Once grew some Barney's Farm LSD and it tasted awful.

I did exactly the same, worst tasting strain I ever grew!
