The thing to keep in mind is that border controls did not exist for most of human history. It's not so much that technology is disabling them as it enabled them to begin with. Roads and air transport, enabled by nation's that consolidated public needs are how we got the borders. As people increasingly gain the ability to transact wihtout the state the borders will decline.
