Interesting topic! Although admittedly, a little puerile. I though we were perhaps past the point of making mass and crass generalisations about large groups of people.

Firstly- arable farming does occasionally require cheap labour- and in certain horrific situations people are exploited and enter into slavery. The same goes for your weed, the clothes people buy, the phone you probably wrote your original post on. Surely a monetary based framework for structuring global society is to blame, and not simply people who don’t want to be complicit in killing and eating dead things when it isn’t necessary?

From a moral viewpoint- i personally require a type of newly developed medication that did a shit load of testing on animals. Loads. My decision not to eat meat was based on that. A load of animals have died to keep me alive- it just seemed reasonable to avoid killing any more if i can.

Just going into KFC everyday for deliveries made me veggie, but I often go for vegan options. Even Greggs (UK) has vegan now. Just one KFC store, you gotta wonder where all those chickens come from. Just one (and I go to two that are always stacked with delivery drivers and families getting buckets of steroids). How are so many chickens stored? It doesn't even compute bc it's an endless amount. I'm talking two stores in one city. If someone offers me a meal w/ meat I'll chow it down, I'm not going to be a ponce about it, or push my views on someone else. But when you really look at it, or have a discussion with someone pushing the "I could never give up meat" it just falls flat. It's a choice at that point to carry on regardless. There's actually no need for meat anymore.

To play devil's advocate, I do kinda get the "can't" pov. Sometimes I've seen pictures of cute cartoon cows for burger bars offering whatever deal, the idea of what your eating is connected but far removed from reality. You could essentially pull the car over to show your kids some cows and feed then some grass, and on the way back get a burger for the kids and a few pints. It's that Alan Brazil/Fruit Pastilles (youtube) mentality that I think the idea of free range needs seen as doing your part. That's what I say in conversation, at least, to the "can't", that free-range makes sense.

I have never entered an KFC or ordered from them. Stopped eating fast food a long time ago due to health reasons. Even went 5 years or so without meat and dairy.
Having lived through that ordeal I mastered the topic of food and health, at least in my case.

Good point, although consciousness is actually immeasurable as it’s subjective… there are ways of measuring intelligence, but that’s a different thing, and academics struggle to agree on how it can be measured anyway…

That’s one of the philosophical arguments of Veganism- we can’t actually gauge human suffering against animal suffering because we have no way of measuring the suffering the animal endures.

Android purely because you can not effectively repair or tinker with an apple phone. Android really lets you get in there and tinker with the device, customize it, change it, whatever you can think of really. I love that.

Every device I have is Apple (for work) but i’d choose Android. Apple are ok but a bit restrictive. have a play with both and see which one you prefer.

Having DJ’d hip hop for 20 years and created it myself for about the same length of time I’ve seen a fair amount or music referred to as rap. Even within the UK we have drill, boom bap, grime, r&b/soul influenced rap, garage and drum and bass. All of the above include rap (some more than others) and all are valid forms of expression.

Personally I’m a sucker for more boom bap leaning hip hop. Musically linked to the 90s/early 2000s but there’s plenty of modern day stuff out there and plenty of UK stuff that equals US stuff for me in terms of quality, with subject matter I can better relate to.

American rap has always taken first place, the amount of quality American rappers is a lot, and also guys like K-dot, J.cole... (just some examples), you can't really find their UK equivalent. However, British rap is much better nowadays, Dave for example is one of my fav rappers, so young but so talented his ceiling is incredible. I also think J Hus, Aj Tracey, Skeps, Giggs and Kano are fantastic rappers, but there is much less of quality British rappers for me personally. Like I can list of more American rappers that I like than British rappers. I'm not a HUGE fan of Drake, but a lot of credit to him for making British rap a lot more popular in the US + worldwide. But at the moment the one rapper I see breaking through to American heights of rappers is Dave, so so talented, and he has a natural knack for instruments. He also loves listening to movie soundtracks and different music as he finds it inspiring which I thought was really cool. Shows that he has a keen eye for production as well.

The yanks will always have that crown, but in terms of battle rap, the UK is fuckin miles ahead imo. The US battle rap scene is so disappointing man.
