Just received a small order and was gutted to see that it was a 2Gs of sprayed weed.

I've seen a tonne of this stuff from street dealers but hoped it wouldn't be on LB and to be fair this is the first I've come across (not going to name the seller but won't be using again.)

I know it's sprayed because the crystals are just a little bit too reflective on the bud and when you grind it and collect the 'kief' the powder compresses into a squidgy hard ball that doesn't burn well under flame and leaves a tarry black ash after a good torching.

I've smoked since I was 16 and I'm 35 so this isn't my first rodeo and this stuff isn't as it should be.

Anyone else seen this on here?

Pretty sure "spayed weed" was anti-drug propaganda in the news and papers in the late 90s and early 00's as the rise of what they called "skunks" took over - only time I've ever heard of it. It doesn't even make sense to be real and I've never seen it or even ever heard anyone say exactly what they think it's sprayed with!

Also think it's odd that when stuff like this comes up the sellers name or strain of weed never gets mentioned.

yes i think it was most likely propaganda too. hopefully this is just another case of too much unmetabolized nutrient salts left in the bud at harvest. i used to grow fairly small plants for my personal and even with organic i had to use light soil and the very minimum amount of nutrients just in the early growth stage to eliminate black/hard ash issues but the results of doing that were generally outstanding levels of quality and flavours

I'm not sure exactly, some sort of polymer. You can spot it a mile off compared to real thc. The below is the best zoom I can do. See how all the 'crystals' are long straight particles - they have a very light gritty feel to them.

At the zoom level i would find it hard to tell. Great way to check your bud is a jewellers loupe 60* or 90* with a light. At that zoom level it should be possible to confirm.

If you can feel the grit when rubbed on teeth thats no good. Believe some deposits from a grow where nutrients have been heavy handed can also be gritty from online reading.

Have had some street green from years back that had glass beads. This was gritty if you rubbed on teeth and produced a sore throat and chesty cough.
Normal trichs should dissolve when rubbed on teeth.

Trichomes can have different appearances other than the colour of the head. So just being straight may not be the identify an additive. This can depend on strain, grow, time of harvest. Here is a decent article https://www.leafly.com/news/cannabis-101/what-are-trichomes-on-cannabis

If you think it is definitely sprayed please name either dealer or strain. Perhaps LB could introduce an initiative if someone gets weed they think is contaminated they could send it off for testing at LB cost.

All I can say is it may make an interesting discussion.

Personally I've no idea what product that exists you think has been sprayed, or what it is about what you did that brings you to this conclusion. All I see is keif, but every day is a school day.

Any old shit is going $80 a Q on here all day long and you don't get to inspect it in advance, so why bother hunting down such a rare product as a polymer spray that looks like trichomes.

If you do name and shame I hope you continue to include how you came to your conclusion.

Now I'm nowhere near as experienced as some people here but speaking as someone who's put in a couple of orders with the vendor you're accusing I think this might be a case of something else, or simply you being paranoid.

A few people have mentioned that the trichomes can be affected by the way it was grown and/or harvested. My only issue with Cheesemaster is that sometimes the buds haven't been perfectly cured so from what people have said here that might just be what's happened. I don't mind the lack of curing though and I'm more than happy to support an honest vendor (who's mentioned he's happy to pay for tests btw) that has an organic growing set up. Feels like the weed equivalent of supporting a local business!

I also got a 3.5g order of the Amnesia Lemon (the strain in question) and I never noticed anything untoward about the product and will be ordering from the vendor again in a week or two. Also as someone pointed out, why would someone on LB try and swindle people like this when they could just send any old shit? Sounds like a lot of effort for not much reward.

I’ve ordered, different strains, many times and have never had an issue or concern. All I’ve ever received is very good quality product and never been disappointed.

The main reason for wearing masks is to stop the spread of transmission. They primarily stop infected people spreading the virus and their preventative use is limited at best. I think it's missing the point saying you can wear a mask but still catch a virus. That's not the main purpose even if it does have some positive effect in reducing your chances of catching a virus.

2. ask as many questions as needed and only use vendors who communicate properly about their products and processes
3. try to only use smaller vendors, preferably who grow it themselves whenever possible and stick with them.
4. check stealth and only use vendors with good stealth
5. only ever get it sent RM 1st class in fake name

All they care about is the house number and the postcode. They have to deliver it regardless of the name. I think this one depends on your neighborhood. My postie lives around the corner, yours probably does too. He knows anyone and everyone, chats to most people and would definitely find it odd if I started receiving parcels in someone else's name. He'd also remember if it wasn't the first time.

They usually do care, it's their job to get the right mail to the right recipient and it's really all they have to do except the walking.

For the rare unscrupulous postie... a parcel addressed to someone who 100% doesn't live at the address in question is the easiest one to 'lose'.

That's my take anyway.

It's such a strange thing, pink Kush is a heady high which at one point would have aggravated my GAD but now I find that a few sativas balance me out.
Stardawg seems to really help me sleep.
I guess what works for one doesn't work for others.
Trying different ones is fun but sometimes I end up hiding away in my house for a couple hours lol.

I think if you find a strain that is 70/30 or 60/40 or even 50/50 indica or sativa dominant it would probably work the best

There are lots of variables that go into the final effect of weed, look for bud that has a similar strain lineage, THC/CBD/G % and similar Terpene profiles..
For Stardawg try - Grease Monkey, Wedding Crasher or Jungle Cake
For Pink Kush try - Pineapple Chunk, OG Kush or Black Cherry Punch

You're right the OG kush is very similar to pink kush but i think the OG kush can put me on my ass, hard, lol.
Pink kush just seemed to give me that push i need sometimes to get out of my own head.

For me I think it mainly comes down to the amount of THC in your blood. If I vaped or smoke a big dose of any dank I would probably feel more anxious for the first 15 mins while my body gets used it. As tolerance increases the dose/anxiety change. Best approach for me is a low dose e.g. 0.1g (of dank) if it were crappy weed this might be +0.3g for same effect. (I use a dynavap)

Howdy Y'all!

I've seen some really good responses on LB to peoples questions about Dr prescribed meds so thought it worth chucking this out there...

My Missus has just been prescribed with Mirtazapine which is supposed to be to help manage pain (mainly from Fibromyalgia and a couple of other ailments) but also to aid with depression.

She was taken off of a previous medication that shed been on and off of for years prior - cant remember the name.

I've been instructed to keep an eye on her whilst she's on this particular one.

Anyone have any experience of Mirtazapine themselves?

Had a quick goosey ganders on the land of the interweb but its kind of generic.

I'm lucky enough to have had very, very little experience with prescribed meds so any pointers or advice will be greatly received and much appreciated!

Hey bud. So i was on mirtazapine for about a year as was not do so good on citalopram. The mirtazapine choice worked for me as i was on a prescribed withdrawl from diazepam (valium) which took ages and was awful. The theory was mirtazapine before bedtime knocks you right out, and insomnia had been a problem for me in the lead up. I did feel a bit dozy the next morning, but significantly improved sleep did help my mood. Also i was able to achieve a full withdrawl from the benzos at the end of 2018. Shortly after that i came off the mirtazapine too. I dont like pills as a long term solution. For me exercise, sleep, good food (and herb) is the key to a happy life. Short term then sometimes assistance is definitely required, I hope she gets on ok with them. No driving or anything like that, and definitely no alcohol she will be so sick. Best wishes

Hi there,

I don’t know about pain but I took mirtazipine for severe depression and insomnia a good few years ago. They said to take it before bed because it proper zonks you out! Just solid sleep...and I remember i never dreamt when I was on it and I really missed that. Remember waking up feeling zombified but that did subside over time. Also. Weight gain. I was eating a lot at the time to make myself feel better but I seemed to balloon quickly while on this. As time went on and my depression improved, I exercised more and ate better and some of the weight came off (exercise might not be an option for your missus, so take this into account).

Everyone responds differently to meds and she might be lucky and have no side effects. Only time will tell.

I prefer citalopram or sertraline for depression as I feel more ‘human’ on them and less like a zombie but at the time, the old’ depression was severe and it definitely helped me get out of it.

Mirtazapine is one of the sketchiest meds I've interacted with. They're the same things they put all the old people in nursing homes on. If taken in the day time they will have a zombie type effect. If mixed with alcohol they can really sedate the urge to breathe which can be pretty dangerous. Over time they'll chip away at a person's humanity, goodbye thoughts and feelings. Don't recommend them at all to anyone. I've had a lot of experience with a lot of things. If prescription meds are totally required for pain relief, I'd recommend a very small amount of diazepam (like an 8th of a pill or less) mixed with/taken at the same time as one or two drops of a full/broad spectrum CBD oil. Then it's time for a high dose of CBD. Try to get hold of a high CBD content smokable like CBD wax or hash, I can send you to a good site to get that from if needed. But as for Mirtazapine, my advice would be to keep away

I was on Mirtazapine for two years and I would not recommend it. It did not help with my depression in the slightest and just made me numb and really fat. Herb helps me more than any prescribed meds i have been on.

This year will be my fourth outdoors grow in the UK. I always used to grow some White Widow auto as I found them easy to grow as a beginner. They also produce really compact buds which makes you feel like you're some dr green thumb.
This year I went for Colorado Cookies and Skywalker auto.
I'm also attempting (really no clue what I'm doing) to do a cheeky inside grow with just some Mars Hydro lds tucked under a counter in the laundry room... Hoping to do 2 plants and keep them micro. May not end welll...

Maybe I'm a cynic but I don't think it's coincidence he's decided to do this so close to a London Mayor Election! See the same move by political parties a lot in manifestos, election campaigns and the rest...then it suddenly seems to go all quiet on that front. Hope I'm wrong and the UK are taking steps to decriminalising though.

I think it is democracy in action to some extent, but I don't think the intention behind it comes from a pure place. I reckon it's more a simple vote grabbing strategy that has been used for a while now. Like I say though I hope I'm wrong.

Although, on a global scale decriminalisation seems to be slowly but surely on the rise, so I definitely do have some hope. Also the health and economical benefits of cannabis are getting more difficult for them to ignore!

I think it will ultimately be the money left on the table that will make the UK government finally move, because the idea of taking an illegal market that is worth billions and taxing it is incredibly enticing, even for right wing politicians. Several of them have invested in North American cannabis operations already.

But public opinion must be undeniable for tory governments to act. Labour, Plaid and SNP can easily make the decision without offending their voter base, but tories can't. Millions of old people still around that grew up with 'All drugs are bad' ingrained into them from childhood, so have never experienced them to have an independent opinion of. Like old racists, their views cannot be changed so easily, and tories count on their votes heavily for power.

Imagine a protest where people were demanding the right to pay tax. "The Weed like to pay more tax" movement.

Definitely. The link says society spends £19b a year on all the illegal drug trade, so even napkin math style it is obvious the financial benefits are colossal for the government. This is the argument that needs to be made, because it moves people disinterested in social benefits. It moves people that only look out for their own financial interests, who can't be reached with arguments of the benefit to others.

It's at least signalling and that helped in the states when big names stood up for weed. Also puts a little voice in cops' heads - and jurors.

This is just personal use, everything else about it will still be criminal. And is Plod really bothering with personal use any more or have they ‘decriminalised’ it in the same way as burglary, shoplifting, theft from cars etc- i.e can’t be arsed to show up as it means taking your pen out ?

Won't happen.

Couple top people in Government run massive hemp farms for pharma drug companies. That's the main reason I think that it hasn't and won't be legal for even medical use.
Hope I'm wrong though and would want it to happen tomorrow.
And just London?? What about Skegness

It’s already legal for medical use, since 2018. You can get a prescription right now privately really easily and it’s legal for regular NHS GPs to prescribe it, if you can find one that has read the research and is willing to.

Also, even without a prescription, if you can show that you have a condition that is on ‘the list’ for prescriptions then the CPS won’t prosecute you as they consider it a mitigating circumstance.

Outstanding news if that's correct about being able to show you have a condition. I have arthritis - I don't need weed for it as I have some hardcore medication, but there's absolutely no denying the green also helps. Nice to know if things go pear shaped I might be less at risk than I otherwise would be. Shame it has to be this way though.

You can get a UK Cancard right now, it’s just started...see google.You need to obtain your medical records (but you don’t have to say why you want them) and have a recognised condition (the list is on the website). The CPS has confirmed that the card will be a mitigation for personal possession and use and will not pursue such cases. It’s a start!
