A bigga can't be certain of the claimed quality unless they try it and if they generally hold the belief that "you get what you pay for" (I do) then thats hardly 'dystopian' buying behaviour.
As you know, Biggy options range from super budget to super premium and everything in between. Over the years I've bought from that entire range and generally, not always, got what I've paid for. At the extremes I've bought super budget (with huge claims for quality) that went straight in the bin and super premium that really could not justify the price. I'm lucky in that I don't need to hunt out the bargains (I use very little in quantity but I'm a strain junkie) so based on experience I lean towards the premium end and will always favour trusted vendors who know their stuff and don't make inflated claims.
