Hi I can feel the difference between them with pain I literally lock up with indica and so I try and find sativas to smoke. I use edibles to function…

What are peoples experiences with the classification? I’ve bought gear sold as indica that have made me feel edgy and sativas that have chilled me out.

The age old question 8) Having travelled the globe and sampled the herb for 50 years I can confidently state that yes there is a difference. I have seen them growing from the Atlas mountains to the Kush valley. I prefer indica.
As said, most on here are hydro grown hybrids many of which have hazy ( sry!) genetic origins, hence your experience. Enjoy1

The slightly sad thing is that the science says it’s all bollocks!
BUT, I know I love my indicas and the all 100% indicas like Hindu Kush & Heirloom OG carry me away in a fluffy cloud while the hazes, coughs & wrecks keep me awake at night…
Although apparently it’s all in the mind 🤪😉
That said, most of the strains we have now are hybrids, so it really is just blended together….

Yeah been reading it’s more about terpenes and indica / sativa just refers to the look of the plans and how / where they grow. Ahh well. I’m going to get a 1g of Garlic Cake from Super Hans as it’s billed as pure Indica and I’ve read good things about him.

Indica and sativas are very different in my experience.

Indica plants give you the sleepy narcotic effect which is also great for pain relief but will give you a couchlock effect

Sativa are more of an energetic buzz which still enables you to function and in my experience I would describe a more cerebral head high

As polly said most of the strains you see today tend to be hybrids that lean more one way than the other.

It’s mainly landrace strains that tend to exhibit 100% indica or sativa genetics.

Try superhans hindukush for a 100% indica experience or diuk have a South African 100%. Sativa so you can see for yourself.

Good rule of thumb sativa in the morning and indica in the evening 👍

strains are just genetics we mostly feel body high due to plants not being allowed to fully flower before harvest the more red pistils the deeper the CBD effects will come thru harvesting early where only 10 20% pistils are red we get a more body high than a head high. personally i prefer indica (head high) pure bread which has wider fanned leaves thus needing to apply a different grow cycle than with sativa (body pain relief high) in reality. i grew for over a decade and learned a shed load about every aspect of the plant. i was forced to stop growing sadly and hope the legalization happens asap so i can get back to enjoying the only hobby i loved doing for my personal journey with this herb plant.

All depends on what phenos you are blessed with when germination occurs. A grower could of bought a pack of seeds which are 80/20 in favour of indica but could have a variety of phenos, some which may lean to sativa but most should lean to the indica side. So when you buy the vendor says it’s 80/20 indica but you get the sativa pheno. That may be what you are experiencing;)

As long as it gets me stoned, only times I’ve had so called weed that was a daytime smoke or meant I had more focus or energy, we’re in my experience weaker weed. Had sativas and indicas here that have equally stoned me and ensured I got a good nights sleep either way
