the world is in splintering mode with people turning against each other over race, religion and politics at a rate that is still accelerating. how did we get to a point where nearly everyone on earth can feel this?
traditional media blames social media, arguing that the unifying force of a couple of news outlets kept us all on the same page. as self serving as that is i think they hit the right vein - only it goes much deeper.
a bad trip is the dark contrast to the self awareness of a good trip and if you've ever had one you know how alienating it can be. the existential madness you are experiencing is difficult to share with anyone, even your old rational self.
a different layer of consciousness emerges so profound the basic assumptions of your existence are called into question: can i stop breathing? is what im seeing real? who am i, really? every sensory input is subject to this new, unwelcome perspective. awareness of the mess you are in can be terrifying and a seemingly inescapable loop defines your bad trip.
the alternate reality offered by social media effects brain chemistry in a more sustainable manner, reaching the baser emotions through the classic plot devices of conflict and anticipation. though less penetrating than psychedelics, social media is far more addictive, with hours spent in its reality every day.
the collection of billions of brains that we call society is now wired into a network completely changing our view of reality. the algorithms that reinforce our most manipulable feelings form the queasy onset of this mutual trip.
as society enters the limbo between old and new realities it experiences the same panic, dissolution and alienation of the bad psychedelic trip. we don't know what to believe and fear rules our actions.

Half the problem is with countries that have enormous military budgets. They need wars to justify spending obscene money on their military. It's cheaper to buy an M4 and thousands of rounds in the US than it is for hospital treatment. We don't realise how good we have it in the UK, but capitalism is the problem. It'll take nuclear fallout to change anything, and the way Ukraine is going, we're not far off.

think of it relative to any instrument, the music won't exist without the human programming it. a song is a combination of several layers of these programming decisions.
even if you were to make an independent, self learning a.i. that makes all the decisions above someone would have to write that and someone else is likely going to use it as a track in their own thing. and the beat goes on.

I am of the Nick Cave school of thought that there's something soulless about purely AI generated art and music; it might get there one day but it's pretty derivative and crap at generating lyrics/stories/tracks etc. That part is just a gimmick for now. I'm not sure it'll ever get there.
I feel like more likely for a long while it'll churn out mediocrity and pastiches that keep us satiated; everyone generating their own personal games, movies and fetishes in atomised bubbles ;). Not true art that is about striving, curiosity, passion, love, insecurity, even failure - all very delicate, human qualities.
On the other hand, the human spirit is very strong, and who knows what AI (or some AI-human hybrid) can produce in future. For eg the improvement in its video generation in 1 year is pretty remarkable. Imagine every brilliantly insane artist having an unlimited budget to tell epics at a tiny fraction of the real cost. So who knows where it'll go. Wild times.
I'd also add (as someone said) that everyone thought we'd all lose interest in playing chess when computers completely outstripped us, and that hasn't remotely happened. Creativity will surely go on, as you say. Humans are resilient.

Worst Star Trek Series of All Time?

I loved the opener with Klingons on Earth but even then it kept getting dumber with that poor man's Kirk routine from this guy. It seems like he belongs in an old Disney movie playing off a car.
Discovery by a long way for me. It just didn’t feel like Star Trek. Rewatched all of Enterprise recently and it was way better than I remembered.
Really? The 2nd season was annoying as any grade school social propaganda but I thought the 1st season was right up there near the best Trek.
I’m sure I’ll rewatch it in a couple of years and have a fresh perspective. I just couldn’t handle ( forgive me if I’m taking Star Trek too seriously ? )the fact that, fundamentally Star Fleet is military, yes? How did Tilly make it onto a military vessel? Even Reg Berkeley for all his foibles had a semblance of respect for the fact he was on a military mission. I love Joss Whedon’s dialogue and sass but he’s an inappropriate inspiration for Star Trek characters.

Sounds weird I know, but do you think that cannabis attracts us to further itself? I mean it's a stationary plant that has very little means of spreading and evolving in the wild. But since we have discovered its usefulness for ourselves we have helped it evolve into what it is today. And In return it makes itself stronger and more controllable for our will. It is well known that plants attract bees and not the other way around so what's to say they aren't doing the same to us?

Check out The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan. It’s a whole book on this exact subject. I can’t recall exactly but I think it looks at apples, cannabis and tulips as examples of how some plant species have thrived by “getting” humans to cultivate them.

You’re welcome! I just finished the marijuana section and I think it’s beautifully written. I love the combination of science, literature and experience and he genuinely strives to capture what being “high” actually is and why it matters. How everyday experiences are made banal by our minds to prevent sensory overload but how being high plays with our short term memory reintroducing the “wonder” into the simplest things! I totally get it!

It's even more stark if you view flowers in ultraviolet light (the range that insects see in), a whole extra bunch of patterns appear. Given this - I do wonder if there is an epigenetic factor to the differences in strength between strains as well as a domestication factor.

Cannabis is a Master plant like Ayahuasca, Peyote, Mushrooms etc. It has been used for centuries by shamans not only for its healing properties but also for the expanding of consciousness. It is our over use of this plant and our breading of it for higher THC levels that is likely not always the best course of action. Once we go back to a way of using it ceremonialy and respecting it as such is when She can finally work in the way that she has been working since time began. Many are sick from over use these days because we have lost this reverence and respect it needs to be up there with all other psychedelics. It is attracting us like a double edge sword…we either understand and respect her power to obtain the healing we need in this time to be able to evolve with the shift on consciousness or we keep on using and abusing her and in the end it will always only be us that suffer…plants don’t need us and will long survive once we perish …just a thought;-)

Personally, I do not think we are in one. We think, feel, act based off our own choices - Decartes said it best: "I think, therefore I am".

There are rules and foundations so intricate which seemingly have no boundaries. Our universe expands at such a rate, that to keep such a simulation running would require far more energy than it gives back... Energy is not infinite, keep that in mind.
A civilisation capable of such a simulation would be nigh-omnipotent, capable of creating their own universes and would literally be revered as 'Godly'.
Even then, living in such a 'simulation' is no longer just living as slaves to your nigh-omnipotent architects; we have free will of thought and action, and therefore what may seem a simulation is actually our reality - we have no 'life' outside this one, if we are in a simulation.
It is far better to accept this as your reality, not through comfort nor apathy, than to spend whatever intellectual capacity one may have on breaking impossible-to-reach barriers.
Even knowing that you are in one, should that be the case, will not enlighten your life any further; if anything, it may motivate you to end your 'life' if for no reason but to 'escape' such a slavery.

It is common sense really. By law of averages, if we look within the development of gaming graphics we see whole intricacies and worlds created in the space of a few years. If we multiply these advances infinitely then surely it would be possible to create worlds on much larger scale. We are already seeing it with Ai and its ability to create accurate “reality” such as images and voices etc.

I've done maybe 4 hours, I switched up games though and that help you from over dosing in a single game.
I think the longest I've done in one go is about 3-4 hours. The weirdest part of VR for me was when I first got a headset, for about a week I felt like I was in VR all the time. The head-bobbing effect of walking in reality seemed exaggerated.
But all that's faded away now. I can use VR without any adverse effects except maybe a bit of eye strain for a long session.

it seems to me the more immersive the platform the tougher it gets on the body. cheap vr gets on my nerves before i get queezy, a full on setup with peripherals and i feel like its a portal just getting back to irl.
Only1 hour. Played the space station game on occulus for about 10 minutes and felt so sick. Took me a good sleep before i felt better. Very disorientating!
For sim racing I usually use VR and I just don't like flat screen anymore, I'll probably VR for like an hour at a time. when your high and in vr racing, battling with dudes online, it's something to really try.
The last time i scuba dived i projectile vomited an hour after i got out the water. I don't think I want to try it in vr

I don't want to give preference to someone the same color as me so why should I prefer someone for being born in the same country as me (or worse they are ordained a citizen by some twat)?
Basically it derives from the same origins. There are certain laws of ethnic relations in history of humankind, such as:
1. law of percentage: lets say a black person somewhere in gothenburg or copenhagen would trigger an amused curiosity and the outpouring of sincere sympathy, however, if you "inject" immigrant workers up to the fateful threshold of 4-8 percent and you will already have a racial situation - the nature of social relationships changes, engendering ethnic tensions, global reflexes painful to describe. The more the percentage increases, the more class struggle transforms itself into racial confrontation. Basically, this percentage is sufficient to make racial discrimination appear spontaneously in people who previously believed itself wholesome and devoid of any racist sentiment.
2. The law of assimilability: If majority and the minority belong to the same large ethnic group (all are white, or all a asian), then assimilation occurs progressively. For example, Spanish or Portuguese workers despised in France not so long ago, integrated themselves into population within the space of one generation; same for descendants of corsicans and the poles during napoleonic era, same for bambara minority living in senegal. But if the ethnic and cultural gap is too big, tensions are exacerbated with time. Like African Blacks and Arabs find themselves in this situation in Europe. We English (whatever that means through consensus) vote in a referendum to dissolve the union of England and Scotland. Never mind what they want, how about what we want, which may be to separate from them, along with the subject nation of Wales. I’m British and Scottish mate. Think it is possible to be both. I’m not interested in Independence and believe it will not happen and will be a disaster if it does. In Scotland Salmond courted a certain block vote and got it. That is what has got the snp to where they are. That and shortbread tin thinking. They will soon want to let over 14 s vote. a lot of nationalists aren't so much racists as exclusionary. they believe in a social contact that only exists amongst members. outsiders are not part of the deal.
Just like you would naturally have a preference for feeding your own family in your own home, before you concerned yourself with feeding anyone else.

I think it is oxytocin that causes the problems as it creates aggressive in-grouping, be it from the innateness from skin colour or the innateness from where someone was born.

Sure. When you think of the Libertarian "rules", you ask whether following the rule is important even if you follow the rule without understanding why the rule is there. Not a wave to anarchy, but an honest approach to understanding the motivation for the rule. And asking whether simply abiding by the libertarian doctrine is more important than being happy?

Libertarian in the Rothbard sense is a relatively new thing and American. For hundred years or so prior elsewhere it meant anarchist or agrarianism. It's still very much in use in that vein.
Conservative Libertarians in the US are also linked to dominionists like the Mercer family and the hard right theories of Patrick Buchanan

Does any other "older" bigga here find it hard to be scared by films now? I used to love a good chiller back in the day. Now I'm 67, have access to the whole wonders of cable and the web, but any supposed "horror" I watch leaves me cold. Not trying to sound "old and wise" believe me, but every movie in that category I end up feeling "meh".
At 52 I thought I’d seen it all, not been scared for a long long time but then I saw Martyrs and whilst it didn’t scare me like Halloween did when I was much younger, it’s such a visceral experience that it’s become one of my favourite movies. Just don’t make the mistake of watching the US remake, it’s shit.

Now the movie didn't scare me in any way but it did have an incredibly visceral reaction on me to the point of having to look away several times and literally dreading what was coming next. As someone who doesn't think of themselves as squimish in the slightest I can't think the last time a movie did that to me.
Also I found out watching that the guys started out as Youtubers who I actually watched a bunch of their stuff back in the day. There's a Turkish horror movie called Baskin which has some of the most messed up scenes I've watched. It's pretty slow to get going but when the fun starts, it goes crazy very quickly.

I think tor will forever hold a certain stigma around it that scares less technically skilled people away. I've been using the browser for about 8 years now and I'm yet to really see any sort of difference in userbase. Brave browser has certainly done bits to get younger people on board with privacy and the onion network, but I imagine those people would have eventually found their way into the onion anyways. It's certainly more plausible that things /could/ change now though, it no longer takes a billion years to open onion links anymore which was a big factor in me using the browser more often.
I think people, in general, are mindless about privacy. We sign over tons of data to Amazon, store cards, streaming sites, etc. and it has become baked into daily life. All but a few of us are guilty of this to some extent.
Every platform has its day, self interest makes some serious ched but it also kills them over time.

Coconut oil, avocado, nuts, fish oil, extra virgin olive oil. Avoid letting oil smoke in the pan as it becomes carcinogenic when doing so.
Ghee has a very high smoking point, and is a natural oil that has been used for thousands of years in India. Does impart a flavour to cooking that isn't for every use.
For cannabis infusion, the most common oils used in the medical industry (for example Tilray and Bedrocan) are peanut oil for ingestion and Coco nut oil for skin application and cosmetics.
Been using Avocado oil for cooking recently as Coconut used to be our go to. Trying hard not to use any oil for cooking but its damn hard! Agree with the smoking points... we found this helpful :-)

Sadly not true. Frying stuff in Extra virgin is a no no. It has a low burning point and lots of stuff in it to burn - carbonising stuff = carcinogen.
Coconut oil is great, but it's full of saturated fat. Jury is still out about how bad that is.
Ideally I fry in groundnut, as it has the highest burning point (which is why a lot of chinese food recommends it).

Regarding coconut oil, there was a bbc documentary that showed coconut oil was medium CT and so reduced LDL . Obviously too much is a bad thing but I do think it’s a good oil, not to mention the brain benefits of MCT’s

Frying in nice oil is a waste of money. While it may have a low flash point. That flash point is still going to be lower than what you're cooking at. I'd argue that teflon coated pans most people have are more carcinogenic than whatever fats people float in them.

Hi Biggas. We have heard it said many times on here that reputation is EVERYTHING. When deciding to make a purchase, positive reviews are perhaps the main driver in that decision making process. We are surprised that the reviews - which are anonymous - are open to abuse, either targetted perhaps from rival vendors, or just from disgruntled individuals. We were very proud of our review score which was close to the best on here, until a few days ago we received a 1/10 score from someone who made the comment "Never received it so, cant speak for its quality". This 1/10 scoring had the effect of reducing our aggregate from like 9.8 or 9.9/10 to 9.4/10. If the person who posted that score had been arsed to contact us first before posting a review he would have learned that we offer a 100% replacement service for lost packages. Not sure if there is any way of changing reviews, but if the person is reading this contact us and we will honour our promise, even if the review can't be changed. It strikes us that the system is open to abuse, particularly - as we mentioned above - from rival vendors low scoring others product. Those with more experience here, please tell us our concerns are misplaced, if indeed that is the case. Cheers. MrB4Real.

Wear it like a badge of honour mate. Every vendor that has settled in here and built a decent trade gets targeted at some stage by a small cabal of idiots. Regular buyers know this and ignore it.

Do not worry about this my friend. I absolutely pride myself on the cannabis I sell and do the best I can every day. I made the silly mistake of sending out orders to anonymous accounts and brand new accounts also. We got the 1/10 “never received item” also. Then a few other terrible scores. So I had to make the decision to only sell to reputable buyers which is a dam shame for new comers to LB but it’s not worth the risks. The alt accounts, vendors attacking vendors and just plain old trolls are real so stay strong but watch who you are sending orders too. Oh and I’ve just placed an order for some Thai buddy. Hoping it takes me back to the 90s. Keep up the good work and keep moving forward. Regards, GH
I think the most elegant way to handle this, whether you are a seller or the borgs is to apply the rule of averages. You raise a shit ton of externalities once reviews are open to scrutiny by an authority. Hang in there and natural law (the best kind of law) will protect you.

Controversial topic, but if god was real, what would be one of the defining reasons he does what he does, and what does he gain from it.

Humans have caused this by building to many houses and building projects that have stopped natural water from going into the ground to reach the water table, instead it evaporates and goes elsewhere, causing what we have today, floods in one area with extreme droughts in another, so humans are to blame for such things.
From what I’ve seen with anything plant human or animal, even bacteria, they all seem to do as they please even when guided to do something sensible that would avoid negative outcomes, they do it all in confidence, no one makes them do anything that they don’t agree to first, even subconsciously all those problems where surface level that was just ignored due to ingorance or lack of knowledge.

Weird question. Why does he choose good? Look around you. He doesn't. If God is real (he's not) he's powerless or evil. You only need to have human experience to know that it's impossible that he exists without one of these being true. Evil, or powerless
I think to answer, or at the least ponder this question, we need to define just exactly what we perceive as a God...
There is a possibility that we are chance personified. We like to believe that God created us and planned us in his image, but what if we're a by-product of a playground or an experiment gone wrong? We like to believe that our universe is special and has life, but the multiverse theory is a possibility too - what if we're just a number?
What if we're actually a hobby in a petri dish, where 'God', the scientist, is just testing waters? What if we're actually a cure for a cancerous universe, and we are the solution to grow and destroy so that the Universe cannot danger anything else? We would no longer be so special if we're just a copy, would we?
I think these theological / philosophical questions, while not necessarily 'solvable', will become much easier to answer once we have a more advanced perception of what we are and where we are (in terms of the universe).
What does God get out of this? Maybe satisfaction of a job well done? Research for a paper he is writing?
And let's not forget God doesn't have to be singular... We do not understand what is outside the boundaries of our Universe... What if there is a never-ending cycle of 'humans' who have broken boundaries in their own universes, and we are their next steps in creation; we advance to universal levels, and pass the borders to become creators of a next universe?

A new vendor some months ago a can't remember who but they were bragging they delivered to a customers door who was local to them and on the review of one of there products the customer said he ordered on say a Thursday and during that night about after 2 in the morning 'Friday 'he heard his letter box so went down to check and there it was his order crazy a know! Defeats the purpose of littlebiggy and putting the customer at risk and the vendor also so personally it's a bad idea

They were mortified and did a hours drive down to me to put it right ( I didn’t ask them to ) but equally was blown away by the level of service. I think it’s probably safer for you whacking it In the mail though would had to see you picked up trying to do someone a favour.

Great for the buyer, and although it’s nice to be helpful I think it represents too much of a risk for the vendor.

pixar is holding up better for sure, i think he really built time into making sure they had a sustainable creative system. that said there quality is also down, i can't imagine him letting them fall this far even in disney's hands.

Order 28g, receive 14g. Complain and get told they sent 2 x 14g and the other one must have gotten lost. There's no mention anywhere of this way of sending in two packages though. Seems like they are pulling a fast one, especially since the vendor is now unresponsive after gleefully telling me no reships < 10 buys. What a life eh.

This vendor does send in 2 separate packages and they can be posted at separate postal offices which can cause a delay in getting second package. How long you been waiting since 1st arrived? And it is mentioned somewhere but I think its probably in one of the topics they posted a long time ago. Hope it gets sorted
If this is policy, it must be on their profile and must be stated on the order. My order says my items are 1 x 28g. Not 2 x 14g. I suspect this vendor sends this way exactly because they can then pull this scam move on a well-calculated percentage of orders. Think about it, every time they do this their profits are tenfold what they would have gotten, and they target people with few buys (on here) thinking they are noobs and can get away with it.

Agree, though the fact that they do not respond further indicates they are trying to get away with it. It is entirely legitimate to ask they clarify whether they mean two packages or two 14g in the same package and having forgotten one (their message was curt, self-serving and containing grammatical and spelling errors so needed clarification).
It is also not the first time this has happened to me, the send-14g scam is an old one I suffered before on CZ. Buying ounces opens you up to these dispicable scams.

Rinsed weed is the latest way they've found to ruin green.. sounds like it's either bang average low THC with artificially added terpenes for the taste and smell - for example all these vague hazes especially from holland - or another one is to spray green that's already been drained of its THC through extraction. Best case scenario there you're looking at sand, glass, silica etc worst case artificial cannabinoids are effectively spice. Saw you posting about one of the various new faces popping up here I'd shop wisely and stick with trusted OGs, can't even buy weed without suspicion these days. Seen this in London about 10 years back and seen 2 different ones in NI in the last year so you're not the only one mate

I went to Pizza Express a while ago and was on a diet at the time. Saw a brand new "healthy" pizza option with less than 500 calories and thought I'd give it a go.
Turns out all it was is a pizza with no middle, like a flat doughnut, that they then stick a plie of salad in the hole.
Same price, and only with less calories because its actually half a bloody pizza and some lettuce.

Over the past year we have been testing different variations of weed (flower, hash, wax, rosin etc), for cannabinoids concentration (THC, CBD, CBN), with what started as handheld machines and has now been upgraded to a gas chromatograph (GC-FID). What I can say is, a chromatograph is an instrument while these (not all) handheld machines seem to be devices, which aren't as accurate. There is a stage higher that is a Liquid Chromatograph (LC) which is more accurate, though we want to test for terpenes so GC is better suited.
It would be great to share my findings with the great LB peeps. Typical readings were:
Flower - 8-21%
Water Hash - 30-50%
Dry Sift Hash - 24-40%
Rosin & Resin - 50-80%
Oil (CBD) - 93%

Edibles have alot of compounds that aren't volatile, which can interfere with extracting and detecting the compounds of intersest.
It would be easier to test what is going into the edibles and estimate per piece its potency, assuming it was mixed uniformly.

Flash chromatography, where you freeze the edible, pulverise, dissolve in solvent and put through a glass tube (column) with high pressure air, through a sieve of sorts (silica, sand etc) and this separates the cannabinoids from the sugars, fats etc in the edibles.

You have to choose who will destroy your capital the least, i.e. "give me your capital and i will lose you 2% pa which is better then the next manager who will lose you 5%". As bigbum says if you buy bonds, like German or Swiss bonds you do know how much you are going to lose. This is negative rates. Picking the best loser. In the alternative just hold gold or cash but that brings its own problems. Gold is volatile (advocates say its the safest, you can always trade with gold) as for cash, you need to stash it and parley inflation risk?

I disagree strongly with the war comparison - that's not an example of a mutual effort, but the opposite: it's an example of large scale confrontation. People were called up to defend/attack from other people. MILLIONS of people died over YEARS.

When I've been out and about with my family, it's fairly clear that the younger generations are the least bothered by what's going on, and aren't necessarily abiding by the guidelines to any effective degree.
And sadly, I don't think this is even something defined by the self interest of the ruling class. I think it's exposed the current ruling class is about as clueless as it ever had been. Johnson's flabby ensemble of random wankers have never at any point been good leaders. They got there off the back of a dishonest, divisionary Brexit campaign based on some entirely different agenda. They now have absolutely no idea what they're doing.
Hopefully it will serve as a reminder to humanity that if a democracy is to succeed, you can only back honest, able and skilled statesmen. Anyone less means we're fucked if there's any deviation from their intended narrative.
I don't blame anyone in this scenario. It's a collective human failure that it escalated to this scale. What I think matters now is the outlook, vision and ability of the leaders that might rebuild for the future. In 2019, world leadership probably never looked so weak... in the entirety of human history. And in the UK, we've currently got one of the most inept setups. BUT. Look at Starmer circling, look what we need to overcome, look what we want to build.

We need more youngsters in politics and less old farts creaming off the state. I think you reach an age when you start to become more selfish and want to accrue wealth. Bills and mortgages start to wear you down. I was definitely more idealistic when younger. We need to be a lot braver with who we allow to run the world and kick out the old guard. the youngsters are going to be paying off our debts for ever unless we change the system. I'm not old (38) and I very nearly got axed by COVID. I don't have a pre existing condition. It's worth considering that many young or younger people with pre-existing conditions are at high risk, as are the disabled and many mentally ill people. The structures of society also make sure that the poor are disproportionatily affected. So, what you're proposing, hypothetical or not, is a cull on the people in society who most need our support. And, I would add, people who add a huge amount of value to our societies. I am as annoyed by how our 'era' turned out as anyone, but putting boomers to death for the greater good? C'mon. Besides, the ruling class are not all old - they have children, who will inherit. Killing old (rich) people would do nothing for society. Advocating that other (poor) people's parents and grandparents have had their time is basically inhuman, or at least profoundly lacking in empathy.

There are elements that are particularly cruel for young generations that have been caused by the benefits enjoyed by older generations. Retirement / pension age is the first to mind. We all retire later if at all because they fucked the pension pot for those claiming now. Housing and land are impossible to buy at reasonable prices, because the older generation owns it all. Wealth disparity grows with extended lifespans, as the elderly hold onto it instead of spending it. But these issues are not the fault of those older generations, but the governments modus operandi of dealing the better cards in the deck to those who can vote at the time and have money. Who cares about the generations that can't support government agendas right now? No one is the answer, and it has resulted in a shit deal for the young that will only get worse as time goes on.
The chant throughout this has been that you “can’t put a price on life” which is ridiculous because we do it all the time. The NHS will not buy expensive cancer drugs unless they extend life for ‘long enough’, councils won’t spend on accident hot spots until a certain number of deaths have been er...’achieved’?!

as a 51yr old father of 11yr old twins (one boy, one girl), and reflecting on how I have myself matured (lack of!) I can honestly offer an opinion that humans may be physically capable of sexual reproduction early mid/teens, but that doesn't make them adults. Likewise 20s and even early 30s. I was a selfish prat right up to having kids. Having kids completely changes your priorities and outlook, including CONFIRMING that kids are, literally, the future. So you're right about preserving the future for younger generations. BUT if adults don't become adults (really!) until they have kids, and human kids can't look after themselves, and anyway don't mature mentally til they have kids, we come full circle, that is why you need 2 generations minimum at the same time. HTH!
I'm 27 with baby number 2 due next month. My life didn't feel lil it had much meaning before becoming a dad, I cared a lot less about everything. As for Corona it's really not a big risk to a vast majority of the population. Most of the people dying are 80+. When the people who are 80+ were born their life expectancy was like 67. They've done well. I think all lives are equal but not all deaths are tragic.

I know I feel like shit about my countries behavior towards the rest of the world it's basically the opposite of how I want to treat people.
If my country started the virus I would be bummed and if my government acted like assholes about it I would be really pissed off. But I can't speak for anyone else and I would like to hear from real people instead of this shit show of mass media.

Wet markets in China may have started the virus, but it's the absolute incompetence of the World Health Organisation that has failed to sanction the markets that shows the utter corruption in the system.
Don't judge Chinese people. They are the same as all of us, but the CCP has a hold over not only their own population, but the people that run the WHO.

While I am a Chinese, from mainland China. I feel that our human is unfortunate, and the world's health system may need to be improved. It is true that this virus started here, but no one wanted it to be there. Everyone knows that the Chinese government uses centralised rules, and people listen to the government's control. It's not democratic and honestly, I hate this system. It helped China control the covid situation just in several months, but things became weird recently. Just talking about China, there is almost no Covid in any cities, but when there are one or two cases appears, people in social media will attack them and post their personal information on websites. Majority of people don't show care or love to them but it's like if someone doesn't follow the rule he should be abandoned. I feel very weird about my home country, the CCP culture is so different in the UK (I lived in 3 years here), these two countries treated the covid with a very different attitude. I would say no one is wrong, each nation has its own style, and everyone wants the virus disappears. For me, I would rather be a global citizen, as I found myself very difficult to find identity and where should I belong to.

I have a lot of contact with Chinese and Taiwanese people regularly. In general, I think people don't really know what to believe in mainland China. There have been other outbreaks in Asia, so COVID is nothing really new. I find that there is little talk of the virus. However I think this varies regionally, though people are getting on with their lives and things are getting back to normal, slowly. In Hong Kong lots of kids aren't at school. Kids in Taiwan have returned and things are pretty contained there, too. Factories and businesses have been closing in mainland China, so there is worry in certain areas of job loss, etc.
I hope this gives a general picture!

I was just interest to to see if anyone had an experience with depersonalisation with or without cannabis. If you don’t know what that is have a quick search “Depersonalisation in psychology”. Please feel free to share your experience and if you have managed it.

When I was a teen they were severe existential crises each time, I even called this "The Feeling" since it defied a name, like a scary villain that can't be mentioned. Went to the hospital with it once but I felt better in the waiting room.
The Feeling has never gone away yet after decades it's become a friend.
To be removed from your own skin, depersonalized, is also a really good thing. It's a real awareness and it points to consciousness of something other than your (default) self.
Once you are no longer afraid of it you will find nothing but wonder on the other side of your everyday sense of self. I know it feels scary and as alienating as hell but at least for my own situation those ghosts disappeared with a nice (green filtered) flashlight on them.

Some people like the head buzz of sativa, a “cerebral high” but it can be too stimulating and anxiety inducing for some people
These strains I say are highly creative hence the stimulated imagination leading to negative overthinking. You use these strains for day time and social occasions or on personal projects
Some avoid sativas altogether because of paranoia
Indicas are couch lock inducing relaxation that can be crippling when needing to stay active to do things but perfect for those moments when rest is needed the most

What is American Freedom?
I know. It's a shit show in the USA for most things, and freedom,the american dream, home of the brave, most of that stuff is in the plumbing end of the toilet already.
But that's not what I'm talking about.
I'm an outsider here having spent most of my life outside of the USA but in many ways I feel strongly american. That's what gives me a basis for comparison of things like freedom. And why I say it's pretty fucking good, at least for immigrants and people that see through their eyes.
The difference is baggage, everyone that has moved here has left most of it at home. Parents, religion, class, reputation - this and more is deleted or at least rebooted; makes for a lot of freedom of thought, feeling and opportunity.
There's tons of high minded law written down by american governments but that all gets corrupted over time like anywhere else.
Generational stray kills the basic, immigrant's freedom too, especially when the pool of noobies gets smaller. But it's a slow, analog fade out, not the hot switch activated when law meets dollar.
There's still a perceptible amount of natural, "new country" freedom remaining, mostly because this stuff sucks even more in the older countries.
You could say "American Freedom" lives outside the USA as well, people that moves to a city with a different rule set have always experienced this, imagine arriving in Rome before they fucked that place up.

Switched to the Pixel 4 XL after 10 years of iPhones. Keyboard is a bit better on iOS, in my experience, but everything else is better or not noticed on Android. The switch isn't that big of a deal unless you REALLY love iMessage.
I would like to let you know that you can personalise everything on android. Go Android :D

Android purely because you can not effectively repair or tinker with an apple phone. Android really lets you get in there and tinker with the device, customize it, change it, whatever you can think of really. I love that.
Every device I have is Apple (for work) but i’d choose Android. Apple are ok but a bit restrictive. have a play with both and see which one you prefer.
I find IOS much easier to work with , once you get used to one of them , hard to make the switch
There is nothing with the "feel" of an apple. If that word resonates with you get the apple if it sounds like bullshit get android.
