i'm really interested in any bigga's experience because i don't think it can work in a noticeable way if you smoke weed.

My personal experience is is microdosing a variety of psychedelics, including weed. In fact I only microdose weed and never get wasted on it anymore and it’s so much better for my mental health and over all anxiety levels. Getting too stoned has negative effects for me anyway like not being able to function in normal settings anymore! Don’t get me wrong on the odd occasion with a bunch of mates we can have a little bit more than a micro but as an everyday smoke/vape I believe in micro dosing all the way! The more you do it the more you realise you don’t need as much to get the exact same health benefits if not more because you aren’t flooding your Endocannabinoid system. But yeah that my personal experience. I like combining that with mushies and lsd micros…every one has a different function and place so it’s about finding what works for you!

I use THC oil or if I vape only use the tiniest amount

I make oil and butter, FECO, RSO and tincture out of the weed I buy and tincture is easiest for microdosing. Plus a little goes a looong way! I'm in the UK so the grain alcohol I use is just under 70% alcohol so I used to put drops under my tongue but now I put on a sugar cube and dissolve it under the tongue.

I smoke a lot of weed and I can still feel it. Depending on the strain I’ll have between 0.6 and a gram a time and love the feeling of coming up on them. Things can go a bit wibbly but that’s part of the fun. That’s Monday Wednesday and Friday. Saturday I have a day off and Sunday morning do 3 drops of psychonauts leisure time Lucy and walk around all day smiling :)

I've been journeying into microdosing Amanita and Psilosybin with Cacao. Very nice results indeed. Very subtle but beautiful effects. Increased energy levels (and strength). Lots of emotional release too. Combining a THC cookie also has amazing weekend results for me. Forest walking is just sublime, but with presence, peace, and legs of steel.

Do you combine all 3 at once?

I definitely noticed a subtle effect / sensation after swallowing the first cap. I’m not a heavy toker tho, weekends really.
Difficult to describe any tangible benefits. I thought I felt a bit more on the ball and also creative. Whether that was real or my imagination I can’t say but it felt real. Would do again.

Hey! How strong is your blotter? If its 125 micrograms you will need to cut it into 10 pieces so each one is roughly 10 micrograms in strength.

How you study on LSD? You need to make sure you get as close to 10 micrograms and then you study :-) With a more creative and clearer mind than you have had before. But bare in mind if it is too stronger you may find it hard to focus - hence why we find the perfect level is 10 micrograms

Hi, back in the late 80's early 90's was lucky enough to know folks who had a constant supply of paper trips and the jelly-type window panes. They were Batmans, Conan the Barbarians, Chess Pieces and the infamous Red Dragons (cartoon world within about 10 mins of dropping)

Kind of mainstream trippy sounds were Beatles White album; the more far-out stuff was Todd Rundgren's Initiation and Steve Hillage's Green. The thing I remember most was the seamless interchange between those and the Rave sounds, House etc. it all sounded good!

Hi, I am back taking shrooms, first time for over 30 years. Start small just to check your tolerance. 5 to 1g is where I have held my consumption so far, but I am not looking for a full brown trip, just relaxation really.
Cutting and mixing with citrus will process the conversion prior to ingesting, so will bring on the affects quite rapidly. I would suggest golden teachers or liberty caps first, they seem to be a little more gentle than the new varieties

I micro-dose them when i'm in the mood, around 0.2g or so maybe a bit more.
Have some weed at hand when shrooming is my advice. I always like to have shrooms around, a couple grams lasts me ages.👍

If I have an inclination to bake, I ground up my shrooms 6g, mix in 2g hash, and make a 10 square chocolate bar. Good for microdosing or high stepping. Hash takes away nausea and adds to the effects of the shrooms.

Break/cut them up into small pieces, then put them in fresh orange juice and drink them, the quicker you do it the more it will taste like orange juice

Considering the experience of myself and many others on long brewed high doses of liberty caps this is complete bollocks. Bring it to the boil initially, then simmer. We brewed the 150+ dried mushrooms per person into tea for a good 15-20 minutes or so on the hob until it was a foul looking mixture. Got you ridiculously high for 6-8 hours. Only recently did I find out the recommended dosages, and whatever we did was the highest possible level as I once spent 3-4 hours just trying to roll a joint while observing and thinking. Never done any shrooms in anything other than tea until my recent chocolate bar experience, and always worked way too well.

I had some McKennas and Penis Envy recently. I literally just eat them neat then wash the mouth with a drink. Not sure if that makes me weird 🤷‍♂️

I’ve had them twice camping with the lads, I ended up with the Golden teaches as well because they were allegedly the strongest set we had (mate bought 4 diff types).

My mental health isn’t great so I was worried about how anything would manifest, but it was the Golden teaches or some weaker ones and my friends mental is a lot worse than mine so I bit the bullet and had them.

I think I was the only one of us that felt them and oh my god it was incredible. I want to preface this by saying my experience was my own, can’t guarantee everyone else’s would be good.

We were having a joint and a drink and about an hour later I just felt… wavy. “hey lads I think these are kicking in” turned round to look at them and all their faces were distorted like swirls and I just burst out laughing.

You’d think that would be scary but it wasn’t, I KNEW it was the mushrooms and I felt fine, coherent and like I was just a witness to it, not like it was out of my control.

I looked up at the trees and the colour of the green bled like ink into the sky like it was being slowly vacuumed, it was amazing.

Finally, I went for a piss in a bush and the leaves of the bush looked like Audrey Hepburn and a man embracing. It was cool.

Also, felt like everything was just bizarre and nothing could ruin my mood and I actively said “If we get attacked by a wolf (in Wales? Come on Ship) I couldn’t do anything I’d just be laughing like I was watching a film. That was strangely soothing.

Tried texting my wife saying we were having a good time and the screen was just like fuzz it was so hard to see.

I’ve always been doubtful of people who are like “Yeah man seeing dragons and shit” but honestly you probably can. What I was seeing was less like independent hallucinations and more like distorted things I could already see if that makes sense, so if you’ve got a pet Iguana or something I’d probably leave it upstairs.

When I tried to get asleep later and closed my eyes I saw so many mad things, Incan/Mayan/crash bandicoot type totem poles and paintings in weird styles, also lots of sex imagery and if I’m completely honest with you a fair amount of gay imagery as well. I’m completely heterosexual and I’m confident in my sexuality but it’s like I had no control over what I was seeing.

Just kept opening my eyes and going “Phew okay” closed my eyes and a completely different vision would come and I’d be like “Oh ffs hahah”.

Honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had, I didn’t break through any walls or anything but it did put into perspective why people take mushrooms and I could say hand on heart it was a good trip.

When it comes to shrooms, cubensis 'strains' isn't like with weed strains, and it's really just different looks and growth patterns. They're all pretty much of the same potency. If you like the taste of mushrooms then they're really not that bad to eat straight up, or you can do 'lemon tek' which may increase the potency slightly. Chocolate is nice for easy dosing and it tastes a bit better. The only time I'd bother with tea is if I have powdered mushrooms.

Probably go for Golden Teachers if you can find them, they are generally a little milder. I would use the tea method or just eat them with some lemon juice. Chocolate bars can be a bit hit and miss, some squares will be stronger than others. I would suggest 1.5-2g for a first go.

My first time was 2g lemon tek golden teacher and was awesome. Aslong as you have a good set and setting and your intentions are good and your in a good state of mind then all good.

I’ve now been taking 3.5g via lemon tek bi weekly since January and honestly it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I use to enjoy going out drinking but now prefer tripping listening to my music in my environment and it’s awesome. I’ve got adhd and the meds never really worked but since I’ve been dosing bi weekly I’ve never had so much focus (managed to get better grades with uni assignments) and just managed my time better.

As for purchasing I would advocate for growing your own as it is a piece of piss, I buried my spent cakes in a flower bed and have random large flushes of golden teachers and Mazapatec. With growing your own you can also perfect your grow and the ability to clone impressive shrooms.

But this is just my experience and can’t speak for others as it may effect you differently.

Well, this was a weirdly prescient comment. Met a guy this afternoon that I haven't seen for many, many years. We had a chat and he mentioned he'd bought jeweller's scales, that were accurate to 3 decimal places. I asked why he'd need something that accurate. He said, "Have you heard of DMT?" I said obviously I had, and apparently you can get it in carts now. He laughed. He said you don't need a cart, you need an accurate 0.015g dose. I didn't enquire further. Easy to make, he reckons.

There's a bit of a learning curve to smoking dmt, and it's easy to waste the fairly expensive substance. The carts make it super easy, but like with thc vape it can be a hit and miss getting a good one, and I find sub-ohm tanks to be much better. You could also mix the juice yourself very easily. As for the substance itself, I don't think it's as serious as many think. It's intense for sure, and it can be scary the first time, but it's really lovely, and nobody I know have ever regretted taking it, in fact they all wanted to do it again. Set and setting is key as with all psychedelics - you want to be with people you trust, and ideally people who are gonna take it as well. It can be a great bonding experience amongst friends. You don't want to be in a place where people are coming and going, and people should not be touching you or talking to you, or at all preferably. If it gets too intense, you will still be able to hear your thoughts, so just remind yourself that it will pass and try to relax, and then it will feel amazing.

I had a bad bike accident as a child, my arm broke and I was knocked unconscious and the first experience of my first trip was waking up where my past self went to sleep and I was in a ditch with ambulance personnel standing above me and I had a respirator on and the personnel kept telling me to stay down. It was proper freaky, but I remained calm and the trip progressed, and by the end I was ready to go again. It's truly a wonderful experience and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Hi there, I previously answered this question on here. Golden Teachers got their name because they are the most noob friendly strain out there. Good potency, not overwelming though. They are a member of the Cubensis family WeedStarTHC mentioned and easy to dose and easy to grow. They grow faster than some other Cubensis mushrooms like B+.

I have been growing mushrooms on and off for the past year and have considered selling on LB. Check out the 'Broke Boi Tek' on YouTube, /r/UncleBens on Reddit, or Google 'Neglect Tek' for some of the easiest growing methods.

This is a well written article and I agree with him that research into psychedelics is pretty fraught with complications. On the other hand, his condescending tone is a bit uncalled for: he's using the data collected by researchers to disagree with their conclusions... the system works! Without these so-called 'activists'; there would be no data!

Sure, there is a conflation between activism and research, but that's the social context in which the research is being pursued. In an ideal world, research into legalisation and medical uses would be entirely separate... but alas! There has to be a process of disentanglement before truly rigorous, objective scientific research can be conducted.

R.D. Laing's writing on schizophrenia, for example, reads much more like activism when compared to the scientific research being conducted into the matter over the last few decades, because the context was completely different i.e. the massive upheaval in how we view and treat mental health. Social change affects scientific progress. Any attempt to deny this is foolish.

In my opinion, the core component of drugs and their effectiveness is dosage. If you take a fistful of LSD, or take a moderate dose every day for a week (guilty), you're greatly increasing the risk of something bad happening, rather than a satisfying or helpful trip. It's really that simple. With every other drug we take this for granted - the concept is hundreds of years old (Paracelsus). I reckon the bridge between science and activism lies within harm reduction. We can't truly ascertain whether a substance is 'good' or 'bad' because it's always going to depend.

I think the same could be said of any scientists who are researching into a new area - of course the researchers who are looking into a niche/relatively new field are going to be those with personal interest. I don't think it's at any risk of becoming an issue though. Not one psychedelic treatment is anywhere near being approved for human use as a prescribed medication (as far as I'm aware) and the majority of public and scientific opinion is that psychs should be kept illegal and are not a viable treatment option. I think we're seeing the same effects described in that article apply better to media - we as people with a 'special interest' in these products are seeing the news more often, and these news outlets are reporting on it because it's novel and exciting and 'counterculture'.
But I think yes, skepticism is to be favoured as with literally any new research or use for a compound - we do not have the evidence, we certainly do not have any longitudinal evidence and won't for many many years (decades most likely), and so we should not see these as a 'cure all'. The same can be said for any new trend/gimmick/craze. With that being said, research is promising and despite biases there is a decent amount that seems reliable. It's just something we'll have to keep any eye on for the future; it is far from being a confirmed treatment or something that will end up being rescribed to people in a few years.

Indeed you are right. These companies are betting on the legalization of psychedelics in medical use. For example, Compass Pathways has developed their own unique patented derivative of psilocybin. Most of these companies are losing money now, betting on legalization for use in psychedelic therapy and enormous profit potential.

I've never tried the acid, but a mate of mine said weed was extremely trippy afterwards too. HPPD (halucinatory persisting perception disorder) is known to be more likely in the days and weeks after ingestion.
It's especially more likely if you are tired of stressed.
Perhaps it is a mild touch of that and may resolve after tome and more sleep?

Acid is much easier on your gastrointestinal tract. Which also reduces the chance of a bad trip for me anyway;)

I've not had acid for years but I used to prefer it to mushrooms. I would say that there's not a massive difference in the effects but I found acid to be more a stable trip overall; mushrooms seemed less predictable, so one minute I'd have the giggles but the next I could be feeling sick or anxious.

I never had a bad time with acid and it was usually a more consistent experience. The only drawback is that it's more difficult to manage the dosage but you'll at least have fun experimenting. 😂

well said OldMan - set and setting is so important for all. Mushrooms are defo shorter and more unpredictable as you say. With LSD when you get it from the right source and know each drop is on average 125mg - you can go for a deep 8-12 hour journey or micro-dose on a 1 on / 1 off protocol and have fun with creativeness and problem solving - all fun 😂

Acid was always described to me as hd shrooms. Ive only dabbled in one tab at a time and its been lovely. I prefer it to shrooms cos i dont feel sick for 90 mins...what the others said is true

I took maybe a dozen tabs in my entire life.

Mushrooms on the other hand I have been taking for 35+ years.

Be extremely careful with LSD: first dosage is a major issue.

Second - and most importantly - LSD being a synthetic drug you'll have a hard time telling what is on the tab unless you're a chemist.

I personally have found LSD experiences to vary tremendously - from overwhelming to underwhelming compared to high shroom doses - whereas mushrooms are fairly predictable once you have a handle on dosage for a known strain (and you respect the basic rules about setting and so on).

If you go for LSD buy from a trustworthy and reliable source. If you do not know the dosage for a given tab then cut a little bit and try that to see how potent the tab is.

Also the quality of the LSD can vary and sometimes you'll get tabs with something which is not LSD.

I took an awful lot of acid before I could get into nightclubs, most weekends for a couple of years. I agree with the idea that LSD = Digital Mushrooms = Analogue.

I always found LSD to give a direct, stable, predictable trip with large scale hallucinations strongly influenced by music. Less emotional in good company, maybe had one bad trip in 100+.

Mushrooms I find to be comparatively unpredictable, introspective, emotional, visuals appear less reliably but with a big dose the experience more deeply immersive for good or bad. Psychological effects can last much longer than the actual trip.

Also agree with the stomach upset problem and mushrooms. It can be minimised by starting the psilocybin breakdown in advance with lemon tek or the alcohol max out method, and practice.

I find people who are looking for LSD and only find mushrooms should probably keep looking, the two are not the same.

Just my opinion.

Not had LSD for many, many years (cannot get it), but have to say I always loved the experience. Shrooms.... not so much; I tried shrooms a couple of times back in the LSD days and the nausea was awful.... but I put that memory aside and grew about 600g during lockdown... I still have around 500g left because I just cannot stomach them. I did find the best way to take them was steeping them in a cafetiere in hot chocolate milk and that helped... but still not for me. LSD is a much 'cleaner', more enjoyable and less nauseating high.
