Does any other "older" bigga here find it hard to be scared by films now? I used to love a good chiller back in the day. Now I'm 67, have access to the whole wonders of cable and the web, but any supposed "horror" I watch leaves me cold. Not trying to sound "old and wise" believe me, but every movie in that category I end up feeling "meh".

Nocturnal animals messed my head up more than any horror has done in a while. A lot of horror I like has to be more based on an interesting premise like martyrs, though a lot of horror made is targeted for PG-13 as that can command a box office so the films are more gore based but lack the total brain fuck.

American Werewolf in London watched it when I was 6 and scared the shit out of me for weeks, love it now prob best horror ever.

Not so much a movie, but the last series of Black Mirror saw a slight deviation in its final episode, rebranding as Red Mirror, a full on horror focused strand.
Demon 79, its debut offering is an absolute blast, up there with some of the best Black Mirror episodes.

I exclusively watch horror movies all through October. My standards for horror movies are different than other genre's. Show me something a little bit different and I'll consider it worth the watch.
I try and watch a mixture of new and old stuff throughout the month. So far there has been a clear winner in terms of what I've thought about most after watching.

I watched about 40 seconds of a 2minute trailer and decided ok I'm in and wouldn't advise knowing any more than that coming in. Now the movie didn't scare me in any way but it did have an incredibly visceral reaction on me to the point of having to look away several times and literally dreading what was coming next. As someone who doesn't think of themselves as squimish in the slightest I can't think the last time a movie did that to me.
Also I found out watching that the guys started out as Youtubers who I actually watched a bunch of their stuff back in the day. Which was really surprising because it does feel like a really confident movie and the chemistry/dialogue between characters is actually way better than a lot of big budget movies.

There's a Turkish horror movie called Baskin which has some of the most messed up scenes I've watched. It's pretty slow to get going but when the fun starts, it goes crazy very quickly.

I think cigarettes actually enhance the taste and smell of the terps in a spliff. I find it a lot more dull when I smoke raw. Just tickly as fuck.

the anticipation of getting high, including buying, receiving and rolling /preparing is more enjoyable than actually being blazed. but somehow sober me cant wait to blaze, and blazed me is always a bit anxious and paranoid.

There is not the difference between indica and sativa that people imagine.

Totally agree, as strains get crossed more and more the tastes and effects are getting similar across all types
OG's are hard to come by - I remember when cheese was everywhere in the 90's and the taste and smell was out of this world, even purple haze has disappeared and the terps were amazing with a knockout hit

I think there has to be an element of nostalgia or rose tinted specs but seems to me the feeling is so common that there must be some truth to it. It's certainly the case that I haven't come across anything with that old school skunky, cheesey, funk that used to seem so common. Original strains like cheese, northern lights, ak47, jack herrer, afghan kush etc are all things i miss.
Also been years and years since i saw what i would call proper blueberry which used to be so distinct, or tangy lemon haze that both used to be staples.
I do like a lot of modern bud but it does feel like theres something missing from much of it. Maybe it is just tollerance and a broader experience?

I think the problem was more people calling not very good weed stardog n then people started to get the impression it wasn't very good , a good bit of stardog is hard to come by these days but also hard to beat in terms of knock out effect

Hybrid ratios mean almost nothing, not sure how you could ensure which percentage of which parent comes through in the offspring or realistically claim 60/40, 50/50 etc.
If you knew that you started with 1 100% indica and 1 100% sativa then technically the offspring should be 50/50 , however from experience I can tell you that some would hold more indica traits and other Sativa....Pretty sure they just estimate it and hope for the best

This morning (19/7/25) I've tried to deposit money from my Monzo account into Bitpanda to buy some coin and then transfer it to my wallet, to send it to a seller. All I get is a message that "This payment option not currently available". I've tried it on other banks in their allowed list and get the same message. Bitpanda just seems to fall down when trying to connect to a bank. Is it a temporary thing?

I don't know if this is 5temporary but htye've sentemails to UK cusomers this week to let them know that will relocate their UK service to the UK in the 1st of August.
Expect them to put in place all sorts of stringent KYC checks and to report data to the Taxman.
If I remember correctly in the email they sent they give people the option not to keep their account as part of the relocation to the UK.

I’ve used Bitpanda for a few years, went to buy some coin the other day, wasn’t able to contacted them they said I had to do AML check proof of funds, requested account closure, they said after check done can close account, they requested 3 months bank statements showing proof of funds going in, and 2 payslips, and then questioned me on a few transactions that they listed, what were they for who was it sent to, told them purchased clothes/ trainers for myself friends and family from private sellers on line. Requested url’s told them can’t supply them traders come and go. Nothing happened for about 2 weeks sent a chase up email got escalated, received a response proof of funds checked continue trading. I then closed my account. The UK laws for crypto are tightening if I read correctly from January 1st all crypto transactions from uk based residents companies (if your using a kyc site) will be reported to HRMC. Currently in the process of looking for non kyc anonymous p2p or none kyc sites. It’s getting more and more difficult to get anonymous crypto.

I think Kraken is uk FCA licensed if it is not worth using soon if not done already will be KYC and AML checks. Would be good if someone who was clued up on this would provide some input/information. On how crypto will be regulated in the UK in the near future.

The payment system on LB isn't working.
I've tried a few times this morning and the pay just freezes when I go to pay. It then states my address fields need to be corrected, even though they are correct.
Any help would be awesome.

I was having an issue with this too, I was using google chrome so I switched to Safari and the payment went thru no problem :) maybe try changing browsers if it continues
Not sure but i think they are having issues i put an order in at 5am and i am still waiting on the btc transaction to confirm,the order is showing unpaid.
Same here (10/12/24), payment is stuck at ‘Awaiting confirmation’ on Transaxe. As it’s not just me I’m guessing a problem at their end which will hopefully be fixed soon.
Mine took about 11 hours before it registered as paid so hopefully yours should be cleared soon.

I was the same as you last year but you do learn quickly. Been a smoker of flower for many years but after a few years off, dived back in. It's a premium product and I've bought a few of them as it's so discreet. Edibles easiest.
Boil kettle
Medium saucepan, water in.. Pyrex transparent bowl on top water NOT touching bottom, low rolling boiled water. Saucepan best with spout for steam escape.
Melt some chewy sweets eg star burst and 20 sweets per 1ml distillate is about 50mg each.
When thoroughly melted add distillate and mix for 5 mins by hand with silicone spatula. Use spatula throughout melting down.
Whilst sweets are melting heat dis with hair drier in your syringe to get really and I mean really liquidy.
Pour onto greaseproof paper and let cool halfway before cutting into avg 4.3 grams per sweet as it was before.
Try 1 to 2 sweets and wait an hr to gauge effects, as sweets eat with fat eg spoon of peanut butter to activate thc better and mango heightens the high.
Making vapes kit required, needs about a hundred quid to get going... 💚

I’ve had that before with a couple of packages from the US and it initially put the fear of god in me that I would be getting a knock at the door. Thankfully it never materialised and the package was cleared a couple of days later and then entered the ‘Processed through facility’ stage and delivered the next day. For me it’s been when the tracking is ultra detailed as usually mine are just at the Departed London and then the Processed phase. It should be ok but always worth having your story straight. There’s nothing you can do apart from this so don’t sweat it, it will work out in the end.
Realistically, it *could* go both ways, but more often than not it'll get through fine. I've ordered things from the US before (not canna related) that have took over a week to clear customs, so it could take a bit of time but I wouldn't worry too much :)

After my hassle with Coinbase, which still hasn't been resolved after 6 months, I now buy my BTC via Bitpanda funded by my Santander account and transfer to my Exodus wallet. All well and good, but now Santander just refuses to let me buy it. Are they blocking crypto purchases totally now. In the meantime I've applied for a Monzo account but just curious why now. It's my money and Im not being scammed, so why shouldn't I be allowed to buy Bitcoin? Bloody fiat!!!
Santander ask far too many questions and try tell you were and who you can transfer your money. Agree monzo and revolut are the way forward
Right, I've now got a Monzo account that I can use to buy via Bitpanda and then transfer into my Exodus wallet and buy from LB that way. Hopefully this shouldn't flag up as suspicious activity as I'm just buying crypto right????

I did that for ages with Coinbase until September last year when they blocked my account with £300 in it. It's now worth about £700 but I'm still battling to get it back. If they don't want my business then fine, just give me my money. Bunch of thieves.
RBS was the first bank to stop me buying bitcoin then my Monzo account stopped it. Currently using a Revolut account which lets me convert cash to bitcoin easily. Last order for $130 was about $5 for the fees.
I thought that Monzo was ok for Crypto? Just in the process of applying for an account but if they're not Crypto friendly I'll go with Revoult. Cheers for the advice.

Transfers from my Santander account via online banking and via the app. My other account is a TSB one which has no chance of allowing me to buy Crypto.

Thanks for the advice Polly, it's worth a try and I shall now have to brave the dreaded call centres. It's a joke that whilst what I will actually buy with the BTC is illegal, the actual purchase of the crypto is not. It's my bloody money after all! They really do not like us not using their institutions do they!

Just tried to buy £200 of Bitcoin and had to answer some questions before I could buy it. Needless to say I failed as even though most of them are obvious, two of them not so. Now my trading ability is locked for 24 hours but wanted to ask, are there answers anywhere online and will it ask me the same questions every time I try to buy some coin?
That's from an older post, and now that I look at it I'm not sure those match up to what i was asked.
Don’t seem to be answers that match up to my questions either, I’m going to have to take my time and answer them via Google next time.
Yeah,saw that this morning. As far as I can remember most of the answers should be on there. When I get out of Trading Jail later tonight I'll give it anotehr try and keeep a note of the answers.

With the fees on the way down I was hoping to put in a long overdue order.
The BTC is currently sitting in my KYC registered account (coinbase) and I usually transfer to an anonymous coinbase wallet and then to transaxe. With the high fees it’s far more tempting to transfer direct to transaxe as it can often save 15-20 pound per order. How risky is this? And what’s the potential outcome if it goes south.
Any advice appreciated

Weidly for me That's whats happned to me today , Coinbase restricted my account then said it was closing it , gave some basic instructions on how to remove remaining funds...

Thanks for the advice TWDuke. I just put a final order through yesterday with a direct send but yeah don’t think I’ll be doing it again as it’s not worth the risk.

A hardware wallet is exactly what it says on the can: your bitcoins are stored inside your wallet but not online.
You'll probably be alright sending directly from coinbase up until the point when they will ask you what the transactions were for.
They will be able to trace which site you've sent the BTCs to even if they cannot tell what the transaction paid for.

Hey, I haven't bought anything for about 3 months from LB. Went to go through my usual process today, CEX.IO (cheap transfer fees) is gone, Crypto.com (total nightmare to use as it makes you wait 24hrs when adding a new address) have to re authenticate, Kucoin (expensive withdrawal fees) have to re authenticate, Binance - I've been barred? What are we all using ATM? What a total ballache.
I use Revolut to transfer GBP (free&quick) to Coinbase
Coinbase to buy BTC , then send direct from Coinbase to LB
Total fees between £1-2. Good luck🍻

I'd be careful with that, coin base shut my account down over the sending directly to transaxe, I've had to change to exodus. Which is working fine, maybe not getting the best price overall but no hassle.

Coinbase 'verifying' my account
Just had an email this morning (18/9/23) that Coinbase are in the process of 'reviewing' my account. No idea why but now concerned about what to do if they close my account. Do I get the funds that are currently sitting in there and what do I use as an alternative?
I had similar followed by a message saying they are closing my account and won't tell me why. You can withdraw your funds. My current solution is buying to Kraken, transferring to Exodus then out to LB.
They've blocked my account so no chance of accessing my money yet, "Your account is currently being reviewed and we need some time to verify your info. During this review, you won't be able to use Coinbase. Reviews generally take a few days, so sign in every day or two to check your status."
It's been over a week now and no change, all I need is for them to release the funds and it's going straight into my newly created Exodus wallet.

Yeah, I've been meaning to set up a wallet and send to that for a while but haven't got around to it. Seems as if I may need an alternative way to buy bitcoin if they close my account. Just concerned about the money in there, it's not a huge amount but would rather not lose it.

It’s been over a month now and they are still holding my funds, no movement at all. I even went onto their online help and if I send in all my id and detailing why I use Coinbase and what I intend to do with my funds it might speed up the process! I asked about just closing my account and giving back my money but they said not until the review has been completed. Really is a joke and all I can do is wait whilst in the meantime I will tell anybody that will listen what a bunch of thieves Coinbase are. Bloody jokers!

What do the numbers with arrows mean at the left sides of chats/posts on here?!
If you go to the tabs at the top of your own page you’ll see one called ‘votes’. Click on this and you’ll see your entire voting history. Everyone can see this and you can see everyone else’s. You receive one vote automatically for every post so you have received 4 votes but you have never made or received any others. If you had you would be able to see who voted for you and whether it was an up or down vote and even the topic that the vote related to.
LB seems to put significant resource around maintaining voting history. It forms part of the algorithms determination of reputation. It’s basically a way of assessing a Biggas contribution to the site/community.For this reason noobs only get 0.2 of a vote until their reputation is established to prevent alt accounts joining for downvoting sprees…(it does happen).

They're upvote and downvote buttons. They work similarly the like and dislike buttons on other sites like YouTube.
If you like/agree with something that someone has said, you can press the up button, which will bring the number in the middle up. If you don't like/disagree with what someone has said, you can press down down button, which will bring the number in the middle down.
You can essentially use the number in the middle to gauge whether people on LB agree/disagree with a message. This is great when looking for advice, as if a comment has a higher number you can be more confident that it is good advice. Lower numbers are probably bad pieces of information and shouldn't be followed.

I often wondered why bother ordering from Israel when there are so many UK vendors….BUT once tried you realise it’s VERY much worth it and Hashishin’s shop works like a dream!

The gentlemen dealers will never let you down. Uber reliable, tracking provided, quality weed to suit all budgets. ULC are also very reliable but I mostly stick with TGD as I like having the tracked service.

Fully agree on carts, Dr extracts and chiller labs are both class. Had a delivery not arrive and the Dr resent really quickly, first class service.

She's still curing at the moment, it'll be towards the end of May at least I think before she's ready. Can't comment on the smoke as its too early to try a bit. It's never a nice smoke if you aren't patient enough.

Most here are reliable, the question is who are the unreliable ones, which i'm not gonna answer cause even the unreliable have good product /prices and end of the day we're covered with the borgs for losses anyways.

Yes I understand what you are saying...we should all call out the bad/scam vendors but because events over transactions are hard to prove either way,calling out the vendors that should be avoided is difficult...I'm actually waiting on an order from what Ive assessed as a "reputable" vendor which is now one week late on delivery...I'm thinking,"Did they send it as they confirmed or not,or,has RM(employee) stolen it etc?" Its difficult to prove either way....Ive decided from now on to pay a bit more and have future deliveries tracked,so then my "go to" vendors will be people like TGD,ULC or similar :)

Thanks for that mate....I haven't given up hope with this vendor yet as his/her comms have been very quick and polite...I would prefer to give a little more time before I call this out,but in future have indeed decided to stick to just one or two(or three!) reliable vendors who(a) offer tracked or signed and (b) offer reships on discretion or at least 50%...this vendor that Ive used offers none of these :(

These are the strongest edibles I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a fair few. I laughed when I read ‘Not for pussies’ on the packet but it’s no idle threat, these things bite. I’ve waited a while for these to come back in stock so it would be rude not to order one of each variety, right????
They originally came in black small Mylar bags then clear/white. I believe the supplier had some issues with packaging so this batch is unbranded but they are bald eagle bakery.
From seeing the logo I can now confirm these are the only edibles to ever hit D+D. We may place an order ourselves

It depends ;) .... A bottle (2000mg) lasts for about a month (for me). Sativa oil makes you do more work, as oppose to be glued to the chair/TV.
Try Northern organics caps and brownies, anything that claims to be 500mg are generally fake! DIUK also does some good ones
