As we reflect upon the past year and countdown to the new one it's customary to get completely spangled and propose a radical shift in your life that you have no real long term intention of committing to once your brain is back at it's regular capacity to function. This year though I think I've come up with something manageable.
So, in the style of a reality TV show announcement, my new years resolution for 2025 is... [add tense music] [extensive pause] is... [additional long pause] is... [one more pause for added tension] is... [deep breath] is... to keep getting stoned. We have a winner.
It's predictably more business as usual than an actual resolution but I like smoking weed and it helps with pain. I'd like to claim it's medicinal use only but I definitely enjoy blazing far too much to fully convince anyone of that. However, as resolutions go, I've a high chance of sticking to this one.
So What's for 2025?
I'll likely keep picking at Green Cats bud menu. It's hard to fault price or quality with some truly exceptional bits popping up regularly.
Orange is Nice
However, the one flaw in the GC menu, as well as many other vendors offerings, is a lack of Orange flavours. There's Gelato or Kush crossed with everything but, in my opinion, a lack of Orange.
I get that I'm quite lonely in my Orange Bud Fanclub but I'm not completely alone. There are others. Mimosa is not the only orange strain either so LB vendors please open your hearts and your shops to the orangeness ticket. List it and they will come. Possibly. Don't quote me on that. They might not come. I'm copying a line from a film. It's probably a poor indicator for weed vending. Blame Kevin if in fact they don't come.
What Else?
I missed getting Piatella from The Hash Collective at Xmas as I'd overspent already when it came online so I'd hope to pick some of that up and some top spec WPFF hash as well later in the year - is it the strongest stuff ever? It's a question worth exploring.
I Am Old
I've really enjoyed having some old school gold seal over Xmas from GC for that taste of nostalgia. It's a perfect example of that old sticky black hash and probably much nicer than back in the day while retaining the essential essence of the past. Yes, it won't hit you like a cold cure jungle boys hash or a barz LA but it's still a lovely enjoyable smoke. So I expect some further old school sessions throughout the year when I see an old man's product listed and can't help but take a stumble down stoner memory lane.
You CAN Teach an Old Dog New Tricks
I'll likely update my dabbing equipment and also my vape this year. I'm liking these modern devices and chilling out like a cool kid. I'll probably try some other carts this year too although I'm less convinced by these.
More Extracts
I'll be on the lookout for the tastiest and smoothest extracts at decent prices of course. I still like a bargain. Currently I favour wax in my dab pen but I should probably experiment more.
What About Edibles?
I'll definitely continue on with my RSO and D9 cookies. That's the theme this evening in fact. It's hard to beat when you really want to be blasted into space. Which I do.
I've actually got a new recipe for cookies that I'll likely write about in the new year. It started when I didn't have a cookie mix packet so I listed the stuff I did have in the cupboard onto Chat GPT and asked it how to make cookies with it. So AI can even help you get baked it turns out. It really will take over the world one day.
