Current thoughts on keeping Private & Secure online?
I'm a vv big privacy person and Im curious what others do to stay safe? I personally do alot of things to stay safe so much so that privacy-ignorant individuals have told me im paranoid.
Would that be a certain list pertaining to an imaginary bald man from northern ireland? Lol, if so, same. Well, one vendor from that certain list for me.
Indeed. In fact, ALL the good ones are on there. How nice of the person who posted that list to put them all in one place for us. So considerate when you think about it ;P
Im curious what app replacements you all use? as we know big tech is constantly spying on us and selling personalised profiles on us. I use proton&mullvad, any other apps i just use an available FOSS or OSS alternative
I use Fennec as a mobile browser. If ubports ever manage to properly implement VOLTE I'll be switching over immediately. But, the only way to stay safe online is to stay offline.......
For ordering I use vpn to come on this site and anything else frowned upon by those pesky police, also order under a fake name to different addresses to prevent doxing
Only lose end is crypto as I use revolut but I’m looking into more private ways of owning a crypto wallet
heehee! does though, you never know when the other shoe will drop with the whole "criminals use bitcoin" bullshit (I know they do, but most of them are in government and big corps)
At least here in the UK, banking has way more criminal transactions then cryptocurrency at least from publicised numbers, Maybe its so low because of how hard it is to trace criminal transactions with monero? Who knows! :p
Problem with that is, that's the logic they are using to push through legislation which allows complete bank spying, innit. Hohum. I take cash out the bank and pay cash only in person. If a shop is card only I'm like "byeeee". Obviously online there is no such possibility but I keep online purchases to the minimum possible. Like, I don't want a trail of where I spend money, just to middle finger that shit. They can look in my bank, but they won't see much. Until there's another big manufactured crisis and they scrap physical cash for cbdc's. No idea what I'll do then. Cross that bridge when I'm at it's thresh-hold I suppose.
nimq, it's completely decentralised. You can see some of my other posts to see my "paranoid process" for crypto transactions. As a very famous (and very dead) man once said "just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after you". He wusny wrong.
