Hey bud,

I always try to advise sending to a wallet such as Exodus or Trust wallet, which can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

From either of those wallets, send to LB.

You may come across some additional fees, but it won't give you the headache that can come with Coinbase.

Thanks folks, Yep set up a wallet n must say it was very straightforward. Every time I take a health/tolerance break from the green. CB seem to build another wall!

I set up exodus wallet. Then from CB I check send to self , and send the btc to the exodus wallet, from exodus I send for an lb transaction. I have signed up for Revolut acc but haven’t had any need to use that yet, if CB throw more curve balls in future may ditch it for Revolut, but for now cb to exodus works for me

With stuff all getting more strict and monitored, I'd definitely recommend setting up a Wallet! I was the exact same, but it's really just a few annoying extra steps and covers you WAY more than doing direct. I set up an Electrum Wallet (free) which I still use now after 2 years, it's pretty easy to use after the slight faff of setting it up. In a nutshell you (1) send your money from Coinbase to your wallet by making a 'request' in the wallet which basically just gives you a bitcoin address to send your funds from Coinbase to. Send it top that address just like you were sending to a person on LB, after a little delay (and a small sending fee) boom it appears in the wallet. (2) You then can send from there to whatever bitcoin address the seller gives you, with one very important extra layer of protection (i.e. Coinbase only know you've sent to a Wallet and they don't care beyond that!) Not sure about other wallets, but Electrum also has a little slider when you get to the last bit where you actually send the funds so you can decide how quickly they go. I usually leave this as low as it will go, but in a rush you can bump it up by a few dollars to have it go through quicker. Check out some 'how to' guides online for the Wallet setup and good luck! Takes about 30mins to set one up :)

I use edge wallet I've noticed the price for 1 btc has come down quite a bit and today it only cost me an extra fiver. It was double 2 weeks ago !!

I got 18 buys, on average more than 500 bucks on each of my purchase

It turned out that within this 18 purchases, within more than a year, I did have issue twice so I had to open disputes.

Tried getting small order in today, bought £80 worth from CB, £3 or so to buy, fantastic i thought, we'll be smoking tomorrow i thought, then i went to send it to my own wallet i was quoted £20.
I'll buy a little more btc tonight and see how gas fees are then, thinking about trying to send in the early hours to see if that helps.

Yup, just been charged 20 to send to my own wallet, when can we get LiteCoin ffs.

I feel so unlucky to be a Coinbase user during this time as it seems to have higher fees than any other judging by some of the quotes that I've heard people complaining about but that I'd be happy with in comparison. Finally gave in yesterday and bought a 0.5g cart with the btc I had planned to buy 2 full carts with just a week ago when fees were normal lol.

unless you're just timing it wrong with the time of day youre checking it does sound like coinbase are selectively screwing their customers somehow. fees are back to reasonable levels at the time of writing this. I stopped using coinbase after they asked for more documentation after already providing it all previously. imagine if your bank asked for that every year. clowns

26/04/2024 - if sending fees on coinbase are still high it's likely theyre choosing to screw you because the btc mining fees have came back down.

Instead of buying BTC from coinbase buy SOL which is far cheaper. Transfer the SOL to another wallet that can swap SOL to BTC. Then spend BTC on your orders so your only getting hit once on the BTC gas fees.

I bit the bullet at 15 quid on Wednesday. Just checked the fees the now and they're 20 quid. Friday 08:00

These btc network fees are ridiculous atm, there needs to be a change and an alternative payment system implemented even when btc calms down. I feel like the fees may price out a lot of people from LB and would force people to look for alternatives. Think we are all on the same boat, I did check the fees at around 2am this morning 23/11 an the fees was down to just over £7 now it’s nearly 2pm same day an the fees gone back up to just over £9, just a waiting game and time of day seems to make a slight difference 💚

Yesterday, I encountered a challenge when cashing out £3000 to a recipient. The fee associated with this transaction amounted to £350. This fee was a result of the accumulation of various payments, and as a vendor, it's becoming increasingly challenging to manage these costs, especially considering the site fees.
