Just paid £5 to buy and £9.50 to send, lol for 14g. Fees were over 10% the cost of the weed. Can’t justify this anymore, will be going back to the str…

Coinbase 'network fee'

Coinbase seems to have added a large network fee for sending BTC to web addresses. Any one have any solutions to avoid paying this?

It’s a BTC problem not a Coinbase one.

BTC fees are high right now because there are more transactions ongoing than usual and people are willing to pay lots to prioritise their transaction.

Fees will return to previous amounts, likely within a couple weeks.

So basically you’re going to have to pay the ridiculous fee or wait it out.

Coinbase still seem to have higher fees than everyone else though so looks like they take longer to reduce their rate when the blockchain starts to calm down. Exodus was showing a transfer fee of £4.02 but CB wanted over £13 to transfer into Exodus.

Yeah mate Coinbase like most exchanges charge a withdrawal fee whilst wallets like Exodus usually don't.

It should say when you go to withdraw how much is spent on network fees vs the withdraw fee.

Have you tried coinbase one account? You still have to pay the network fees, they are slightly cheaper though. SWIM bought an oz @ £160, cost £9.45 to send. You avoid paying on the purchase of BTC and only pay network fees. Yeah this is due to BTC going up to the 30k mark again. Happened a while back too.

22/11/23 Been watching network fees on CB .... last night 10ish was £10.46, a hour later £13+, this morning 7am £15, 11am £9+. Just waiting it out for a bit longer (this is an inTolerance break). Oc once the fee drops there is always a chance it will take ages/too long and order expires.

Just went to see how much a gram would of cost, gram came to 9.32 and the transaction to send was 10.45 total cost came to £19.77
Had to cancel obviously. That's on coinbase.

Could try kraken, it's fees are a lot better but the wording used in the app and website make things needlessly complicated compared to coinbase. Oh and there's a 72 hour wait period before you can send or withdraw btc or any other digital currency, only for the first time on a fresh account though.

Its awful this. Really bad. Its not a reliable means of payment and can take a week to clear with no way of knowing when. Money is held in limbo til whenever. Its a total shit state of affaird and has been a year or more off and on. Why arent LB using a more stable coin as means of payment? Why only btc when its the least stable?

For weed I start at 185, dialling up by 5 for each subsequent hit. I get plenty of flavour and cloud doing it this way. For hash I crank it up to max…👍

Thanks buddy. I played around with temp when I first got but I ended up just straight blasting at 210, thankfully I don’t experience many throat problems. You reckon it’s more efficient going through the gears as I smoke like some have suggested? i.e. start at 185, 190, 195 and so on?

I had a crafty + and due to inhaling the vapour direct to your lungs I couldn’t really cope with more than 185 without coughing. 195 for boost after the majority of vapour has gone. With my Arizer xq2 I can comfortably go much high but don’t really like more than 215.

I believe it’s the thc that makes you cough, rather than the temperature. There is more thc at higher temperatures. Vaping green at 210 is almost like smoking it through a pipe

I have an Arizer EQ as I do like balloons but I don’t believe the temperature readout. I have to crank it up to the sort of temps that would blow my noodle off on other devices. Still does the job though🤷‍♂️

If you're concerned, you can put some hemp fibre in the bottom of your chamber to catch any run off. Hemp fibre in the chamber, dosage capsule ontop with 2 terp perl and hash inside 👌

I started off this way using the hemp fibre with hash, but i've since found it not to be necessary once I got familiar with dosage etc. But it does give you a piece of mind 👍

Yeah, like Anon I just use a little bit of cotton bacon either in the bottom of the oven direct or if it’s a really melty hash then in a dosing capsule (no drip pad, only use those for concentrates) with a light covering of the cotton.
No problems, although I generally use a Vapman for hash these days as the extraction is superb 🤩😶‍🌫️

I'm seemingly the odd one out and go low. I start my weed journey at 160 and go up to about 175, any higher and it seems harsh. I get lovely flavour, not too much vapour and great effects. For hash, I start at around 195 and work my way up to 210.

Firstly, it ain’t cheap! No 10 quid NHS style prescriptions unfortunately.

Can take long to get initial consultation to your herb, so stock up better than Apex did, or end up buying brown terpless street weed

yeah my 1 guy up these ends goes from dog shit to epic, but it’s random 😂

My consultant was awesome, knew how to approach 1 of my conditions (PTSD) better than “conventional” medicine doctors!

Chatted for 20mins then he basically said, here’s the menu, order 60g of what you want and mail me 🤤🥳😂

That feeling was like, when you first joined LB but legit! 😜

For science and you lot, I literally ordered all the most expensive ones that were in stock.

Rapid delivery, and stealth was shit 😂 my postie was literally sniffing and laughing (I had a terpless joint on the go so couldn’t have been that)

Opened them all to give a whiff and tbh, only one smelt of nothing.

Cracked open the Farm Gas first, won’t lie a lesser content creator than Apex with green fur, might’ve tipped us off on this one ❤️

Welcome to the party pal. I’ve been legal for a year now. I had huge problems with work but it got sorted and they are fine now.

In my opinion people who can afford it should. The more of us jumping through the loop hole the more successful it will be, then more rich people will back it.

They will have to decriminalise it.

Just a tip EMT 20% THC from sapphire is £5.50 a gram (10 grams for £55). I pay that so I can spend more on black market products.

For the strains I’ve tried so far, no complaints. One non smeller but smoked nice.
Couple drier than I like but brother Boveda will sort them out.

Although my understanding is that despite having a prescription it remains illegal to smoke cannabis flower in the UK. All that’s changed is that Plod have agreed that they will still investigate but where no other offences are apparent they will take no further action where prescriptions exist although they will record the incident. Smoking in public remains a grey area and there were three test cases going before the courts but I don’t know if there has been an outcome?…driving under the influence is another hot set of test cases.

So when Karen comes over for a moan mate she is perfectly entitled to because you are a stinky law breaking skunk (no offence). Just one with a prescription 😂🦨😂

Well I think “smoking” actually means “using” in this context but yeah you are right that it needs clarification which is why those cases going through the courts are set up test cases.

I think with prescription pills there is a specific defence written into the law. With cannabis it’s currently just an agreement amongst Plod.

Seriously, is anyone getting into trouble for personal use whether they’ve got a scrip or not?…I can’t remember the last time I heard of any?…

Was looking at going through this process myself but I seen alot of people say that you have to attend mandatory consultations quite frequently. Not only is that a pain in the ass, but the cost that comes with it really adds to the overall cost and makes it pricey

Think this varies on clinic.

Mine =

Initial consultation 150

1 month follow up 50

Then think it’s 6 months or year at 50

While it adds up, gives apex chance to review the strains back to doc on what they are targeting.

Same I did with conventional mind numbing medicine

The more I get the easier to select from available that will work for me come repeat time, which is free just the money for herb.

It’s not cheap, but so far my experience and bud quality has been fine for that extra piece of mind.

And now also “Mrs apex, it’s medicine” 😂🥳😜

Technically your weed in pots should be prescription to be legit.

Not sure they’d check strain though…. While I wouldn’t promote I’m sure some just get a wee bit legit and top up their prescription 10g pot 🤷‍♂️

I went Mamedica, strain selection was key to me as I’ve chonged a lot in my years 😂

They were great and didn’t try push anything, but offered advice and then said pick from the menu.

However, it can get costly - I went mad last month to my detriment and picked all the absolute fire strains around 10-11.50 per gram!!

But it was absolutely banging and better than a good few on here!

From initial payment to my first consultation it was 4 weeks!!! Then + 1 week to receive meds on a Saturday delivery (you get multiple text so no postie peaking required) 👍

Mamedica will chase your records, my gp was on it and I just replied yes to access on an email I was ccd on.

My history is long and fat and they still nailed that bit in a week. Upload your id too as soon as you can, more chance to get appointment brought fwd if you can be flexible.

You’re not forced to buy your max prescription amount so can do in bits, or just get smaller one month and let them know.

Initial consultation = 4 weeks
First legal delivery = 5 weeks
Follow up consultation = 8 weeks
Now I’m on repeat which is ordering through phone!

And yeah can use an older pot for a bit, I.e would be hard to blag it’s the same 10g from 2020 😂
They can also rub out from ink wear, I fondle mine regularly and seen them go completely

And sacked off a few for some more.

For anyone not happy with their provider, well impressed with mine as treated like adult and can order what strains I want from the menu.

Well, I'm still a smoker of delicious tobacco joints and I have no shame. However for dry herb I have a Mighty+ and it's a superb device. Gets you super high on a fraction that goes in a joint, but with a different high and experience depending on what you want.

I'm still trying to get to grips with a Dynavap and iSpire 'The Wand' induction heater. I'm burning myself less and less with practice, but fuck me that Dyna can get hot. Get a metal ashtray nearby to rest it on when you need it to cool down a bit. Mainly using that for hash not dry vaping, but it can be used for that.

The big gain initially was the the OG Mighty got seriously reduced in price! That’s a win because there is in real benefit terms not a lot of difference. If you can bag an OG cheap always do it imo👍

I think it has upgraded parts? The heat fins have been redesigned over the Mighty so it's nicer to hold. But the main thing is the USB-c. Don't underestimate that when you're out and about in 2023. It was only about £30 difference when I bought the Mighty+ so I easily justified that to myself. £150 and I'd have to be thinking about it much, much harder. And they'll probably revoke my commission anyway as I called them B&S instead of S&B.

Yup OG Mighty has great battery life for general use but won’t hack it at a festivals etc without charging points! (TM2 wins on this because you can quickly switch out batteries). I’ve never found charge with the Mighty any issue at all….

Ive been tobacco free for 20 years. But after smoking buckets for years, i stopped altogether for 18 months. Now i just dry herb vape. Wish i found the volcano 15 years ago, best and smoothest I've found. Mine is connected to a bong. just trying some vape pens out for out and about, there new to me tho lol.

I’ve decided the only real gap in my kit line up is a desktop dry herb. I have the Arizer Extreme and went off it a while ago. I don’t mind a balloon but the novelty wears off.

I love my Mighty as a portable but what will the Volcano bring to the party (other than than the balloons 🎈🎈😂)?…is it really worth having both?

I have used a Volcano a few times, mainly in coffeeshops. They are great devices, although I am not a huge fan of the balloons, but I wouldn't buy one if I already had a Mighty.

If you have lots of mates who smoke and you're hosting the Volcano is great, but I can't imagine I'd use a Volcano if I'm on my own and the Mighty is sitting right there. Just my opinion of course, but if I was spending that kind of money I'd want it to be my go to.

Is the Puffco a portable? Maybe the pictures I have seen are deceiving but that always struck me as a desktop, which means it's almost certainly portable lol.

If you had a volcano, it would definitely quickly become your go to!! The mighty plus gives nice flavours and good hit, but the volcano is next level. Especially connected to a water bong. 👌🏼

Saying that I would love a mighty or an Angus as a sipper as polly would say.

Starting to find a happy medium with the TM but it’s not the same. TM is far from a bad device but sometimes you just want to sip not rip

Need one of these Mightys, ive got an arizer solo2 which is ok but you have to work too hard for it, i gave up smoking ciggies about 5 years ago switching to the vape, so now its mainly the vape & my 50/50 resin carts of choice with an edible here and a blunt there.

when i got the arizer it ended up being between it and the volcano and went for mobility etc....
i know, i chose unwisely.

I’ll second that. I have had two repairs carried out on my Mighty, which is almost 7 years old now lol, for free by S&B despite being out of warranty. Great company, great products.

Wait for a good deal from Magic Vaporizers (I should be on commission...) and get the Mighty+. The USB-C charging and slight changes are worthwhile for someone not upgrading. Any device I've had that has any other socket just doesn't get used as easily and frequently.

I done not bad out it about 80% of my gear but the vast majority of that is dyna gear.

Also what I have tried but don't own one is the Angus. In regards to flavour, out with the low temp cap dyna set up lol can't be beaten if you are a flavour chaser.

Can do most thing that the mighty TM2 ect can do.

Concentrates I stick with the AIO for on the move and the core at home.

I mostly use my Mighty dry herb vape so my answers may differ than traditional smokers.

I’ve found Keep it Greens Mimosa EVO to be a phenomenal vapour beast! It starts giving off vapour at slightly lower temps than normal and it lasts a hell of a lot longer than most. I’ll get more vapour at 180-185 from this than I’d get through the full 180-210 range with other bud. Linked it above 👍

Yeah I have to say the Mimosa Evo is really good but i think i might prefer the Spritz they have now

Had the EVO, got the Spritz now. Both are incredibly well grown and cured, excellent taste profiles, but that EVO, makes my mouth water thinking about it!

I know, its quite hard to pick between them, I'm a huge fan of both but when they're side by side i think the Spritz might just edge it for me... about to smoke the last bit of Evo now, sad times 🥺

Big fan of Piff's Exotics range. Now they're back it's still as awesome as ever. Not sure I should recommend the Pink Tuna as it was so delicious that 3.5g lasted under 2 days.

Yes! That's the one! Think it was just as they went 'briefly' offline. My mate used to buy for me before I got an account and I was such a hog for their stuff. The Grape Cream Cake is still my Grail weed. So fucking good. Had some from Strainsbury's a couple of months ago and it was almost exactly the same. 🤤

Oh. I had platinum something or other years back that I never got again, tasted kind of champagny and fizzy if that makes any kind of sense but it was very good from what I remember. Sorry I also do that haha

Hmm my fav was the Blue Zushi and Zheetos from Pistach both tasted really nice and put me on my arse, but most of my recent purchases of this it got subbed for trash so I haven't ordered for a while. Decided to try other vendors and Dr Green Thumbs chemdog is on another level! proper stinky gas that whacks your head with a tidal wave of highness(highly recommend if you are a dawg lover) and recently had Green Cats Sweet Tooth Ammo and it smells gorgeous and tastes just like you expect ammo to taste with a nice strong high thats not impairing.
