My understanding is that the idea was that people will buy less items from china or that china would have to pay more to sell there items in the us

But now Americans have to pay 2.25X more if they want something from china

Now Chinese companies/sweatshops are upping there social media presence basically cutting out the American middleman

Saying why spend 30k on a bag when you can buy it directly from us for a tenth of the price using the exact same materials

Kind of killing the luxury item trade
