Gut health and brain health are linked in a bunch of ways, I've been reading a bit about it, there's millions of nerves connecting the gut and brain, the gut is producing most of our serotonin which directly affects our moods, they've linked poor gut health to Alzheimer's and possibly other mental health conditions recently too so there's more than a few direct connections.

I read about the vagus nerve and what it does, it's like a little caretaker for our whole nervous system, regulating everything, that can be damaged by stomach ulcers and when damaged can cause all sorts of problems, I guess i'm wondering with all these direct links between gut and brain whether we're actually feeling something that's sending very real signals but signals we don't understand properly?

...or I might've just smoked too much, its possible, the bong has been out!

On another note, vagus nerve tone is heavily correlated with mental health and a plethora of physical ailments too. We need far more research being channeled into the vagus nerve, it's so so under-rated in my opinion.

I didn't realise the serotonin in the gut stayed in the gut and worked mainly on digestive business, that's pretty interesting, I only really mentioned that and the Alzheimer's though as quick examples of links between the brain and gut but admittedly I have only glanced into those things, I've been reading more specific gut stuff and a little about this vagus nerve, I agree with you it obviously needs as much research as they can do as it seems quite important to keep the thing operating properly.

As far as the intuition thing goes honestly, jokes and stoned theories aside, I don't think I've ever felt intuition physically like that, that's not how it manifests is it or it isnt for me, it's just a term that has stuck I thought.
My gut mainly lets me know when the hangry is on the way, thats pretty much it i think, I am a simple creature though.

You are partly correct.
The vagus nerve is heavily responsible, but not serotonin. Serotonin made in the gut is primarily for digestive functions, it also doesn't cross the blood brain barrier and therefore has no effect on mood.

Some studies have linked poor gut health to cognitive decline, however they failed to really isolate the variables within the experiments. Eg. Was it their gut microbiome with a specific profile that correlated with alzheimers diagnosis? Was it a simple bacteria count in correlation with diagnosis? What were the patients diets like? Were they heavy in heavy metals?

Ultimately, what we call our "gut feeling" is intuition. And intuition is information your subconscious has processed and understood, but you haven't come to the logical conclusion consciously, therefore it feels "magic".

Very often, your immediate thought or emotion is intuition (which you should always follow even from a medical perspective) and the thought or emotion that directly follows it is your conscious thinking or anxiety.

I think it's your limbic system, that connects your heart and stomach to your brain. Heart felt feelings, gut feelings.

It’s my absolute happy golden place.

When I was 12, I had a 10 week break between going to middle school and secondary.

I lived on a new estate still being built among the woods, so there was plenty of material laying about for building dens, and plenty of unfinished buildings to climb on or mess about in.

We built fires and cooked sausages, drank the odd beer, smoked the odd fag and handed around dirty magazines. We genuinely thought we were the shit 😂.

The dens never lasted long as they either got pulled down by locals or rival kids, but that was all part of the fun. I even managed my first kiss and fondle that summer.

Now…the past is the past,I’ll always enjoy life now,know matter what’s happening even though I’m early fifties 😄

The minute I grew up and found out the cruelty of the real world was the minute the fun stopped.

I know that sounds heavy and I always answer these types of questions like this, I got diagnosed as Diabetic when I was 11, mum died , up until I was 17 my dad and me were bumping heads and I hated it (not linked to my mum I was adopted my birth mum died) I had times after where good stuff happened but I feel like I got dragged through maturity quickly because loads of stuff went to shit because of bad luck In life, my dad used to get pissed and just rent every night about needing to grow up and make money, came in the night before my 13th birthday bladdered and went “you’ve got copied video games for your birthday you’re a man now so do you need to do silly birthdays ?” And it went on from there.

Struggled hard as a kid, was very clever but could NOT wrap my head around things and did what I could, got to uni after winging it for years and failed miserably, went from hated job to hated job and here I am now at 31.

Got my own mortgage , beautiful amazing wife and a baby due in 3 months but I’ve had a wall in front of me for so many things for years that I’ve never been able to explain or get past, the depression for the last 12 years where no treatment, meds or CBT has helped has made me so cynical, jaded and overall angry and disappointed with myself.

I looked at a diagnosis for ADHD in my early 20s and got dismissed as a young man after Ritalin and after 11 YEARS on the NHS register with nothing and 4 on two private lists I was finally diagnosed 2 months ago and started medication ten days ago.

Decided to tell my dad about it last night he linked a daily Mail article saying it’s a myth so I spent two hours disproving everything that article said and he basically just said “You’re fine as you are you’re just anxious “ I’m not anxious.

So the meds are supposed to be working now but you can’t mix it with other stimulants like coffee and I drink about 4 pints of coffee or energy drinks a day to stay awake, same for weed apparently conflicts with the tablets which I smoke daily and alcohol (drink when I get the chance to feel chill).

So even though I’m on meds and titration to see what dose works for me I’m drinking on holiday, was assigned them maybe last Monday? Had to get my Bichon put down on Tuesday he had kidney failure and it came out of nowhere and because he was so silly and daft still it broke my heart to watch the life leave his eyes even if it was the right thing to do, so I’ve got grief, depression and drinking all on at the go when I’m meant to be seeing if these tablets stop me losing my temper at the smallest change.

Sorry for ranting, this wasn’t even the question I’ve just listed off everything wrong with life. Just needed to get it off my chest it’s been brutal lately.

My answer though, probably 17 to early 20s. First time getting my feet out into the world, I was a little geek until I was about 15 until I started coming out of my shell and really capitalised on that from 17 haha tried a lot of new things did a lot of new stuff but ultimately I wouldn’t relive any of it, just trying to do my best now for the sake of my soon to be daughter and don’t want to be freaking out because I can’t handle her crying so meds it is.

It’s funny, they were only really prescribed at this crucial point because if I hadn’t had meds at this point (been getting told for 6 months it’s a few weeks away) my fear of not being equipped to be a man let alone a dad would have probably been causing me to have a mental breakdown at this point.

I don’t want anyone to think I’m asking for pity, I’m not I’ve survived this long and will keep surviving but I think all your choices in life have clearly led us to where we are now, and even though I’d love to be back getting a blowjob and a stripe and feeling like I’d finally gotten free, the lessons I’ve learned from them have taught me some very important life lessons.

For me personally, I'd go back to a time before My kids had been brainwashed against me. So maybe 4-5 years ago, was a happier time for me. I took it for granted and life made me pay the price hard. 4 years later and 1 run through family court I'm still at square one.

Always dispute in these situations. In some cases opening a dispute will provoke a response from the vendor. If they make no attempt to make this right then chances are the dispute will go in your favour. Good luck mate.

Choose your vendors wisely. Message them before a buy to see how responsive they are, if at all. When you find decent vendors then buy regularly and get a decent relationship going. It's getting harder and harder to find reliable vendors on here, but fortunately there are still enough to keep me and you in all levels and price points.

The issue is that I made a post on his profile, you can see it, and I disputed it, and I’ve even extended the dispute to give him time to response and he is still full on ignoring me.

I don't think having a dispute on your profile will do you any harm. There are plenty of vendors on here who won't even look for that information. If in doubt send a message to the vendor you want to buy from before you buy. The Spacemen are a good vendor to start with if you've got a new account as they have no minimum buy requirements and their comms have always been decent with me.

I've used it a lot over the years to help reset my sleep patterns around shift work, and found it varies in effectiveness depending on the brand, as well as the dose. High doses don't work well for me. Best is a brand called Vitafusion who do a product called SleepWell. It's formulated with 3mg per 2 gummies, and it was so effective for me that I'd find myself drifting off to sleep without trying. No other dose or brand ever did that. Still available from a popular auction site, and I've never had any stopped by customs.

I should note this definitely was one-off/emergency usage only, never regular (just a health warning for the benefit of anybody else reading - very easy to get hooked on benzos and very difficult to come off, from seeing ppl close to me who’ve developed a benzo addiction. Very nasty physical withdrawal symptoms)

Totally agree with your comments mate. I find with sleep aids the less you use them the better they work. Tolerance builds so quickly. I take 0.25mg (or less) of Xanax possibly twice a week if I’m wide awake in the middle of the night with a least 4 hours to go until I need to get up. Always works and I wake up very refreshed. Taken nightly it would stop working in a couple of weeks and knowing that means I have no incentive to increase dose or frequency.

I occasionally treat myself to a hit of the 🦄 at bedtime. Fall asleep with a big grin on my face!🤗

I find it very useful for sleep when I'm taking a t-break.

I used melatonin on and off for a few years. Making it prescription only is a bit over the top, but good for Big Pharma.

The only problem with melatonin is that it's a natural hormone we produce. So if you supplement with it too long, your body will make less.

Also, the trigger for your body to start releasing melatonin is darkness. So if you're using your phone or watching TV before sleep, you're body is not releasing it's own melatonin.

Red filters will help a lot, as it's the blue light that triggers our brain to wake up. It takes some time...30-45 minutes for me.

If I need help besides the filter I've added to my phone, I take a small THC edible.

Good luck, bad sleep is a serious problem. I have sleep apnea, where I stop breathing while asleep. You might want to check on that before you only self medicate.

My sleep got a LOT better when I started using a CPAP machine that keeps me breathing at night.

So please check with a doctor about that, it is life threatening.

I’ve tried melatonin gummies in the past. They worked great but used to get bad headaches the following day.
I also read that long term use can cause rebound insomnia so I quit.

Got some melatonin gummies while in Europe similar to what Rux mentioned.
May have helped with relaxation but may have exacerbated my restless legs.

Live resins, and diamonds in terp sauce are a good shout then, they stand out based on my experience, Dr Distillate or Myconauts.

Crumble, sugar, shatter, all the rest all seem to be on similar levels of terps.

But honestly mate, for the terpiest experience with how you (vape?) yours, bubble hash all the way. Not BHO but still a concentrate, I get 8-10 hits of pure terps when vaping a good bubble hash.

Strength just depends on the strain/genetics for me personally rather than the form its in. Some food for thought, enjoy!

Yes I think that’s prob where it’s headed :). As David Lynch said, “I have to say that I enjoyed smoking very much, and I do love tobacco - the smell of it, lighting cigarettes on fire, smoking them.” And I love the ritual of it. But I also don’t want to end up housebound like the great man or dead. My relationship with tobacco is over for good and I feel a lot better for it.

My only thought is - I did give up everything for about a year a while back, and used the first Pax. It was great (and def saved me a lot of money on weed), but then I had a pure joint and it seemed to hit harder than anything I’d had. I remember someone saying a vape high is like 2/3 of the full thing. Is that just a psychological thing though, or a product of not having a better vape/not going through the temperatures properly? At the moment, just taking 4-6 big pipe hits a day seems to work great for me, it’s economical and still very strong.

Anyway, I think I better start saving for the Mighty+, as Rux was saying below :) smoking is still smoking and my lungs aren’t getting any younger!

I have a mighty+ and it’s wonderful, but you’re right that if you switch up your method of intake you will notice the new method is more impactful for a while. It also happens when switching to dabs and back, and edibles.

Lots of great pipe suggestions here, but i find that i switch from vaping, i use a budbomb.

Nice and discreet with a sealed herb chamber for stealth smoking, and just slightly on the harsh side, which scratches that tobacco/combustion itch perfectly.
