Recommendations for cheap grow tent/compete set up ,I recently got a ts3000 450watt from Mars hydro, Iโve tried to grow a few times but It seem to end up with mold in late flower so I was thinking of some kind of air exhaust/carbon filter also too regulate the humidity?

There is an awfull lot more to growing than throwing a light over them in a cheap tent!
An extraction set up is manditory really,for numerous reasons...First and foremost is to make the whole grow odourless to the outside world!! Secondary is to keep the relative humidity below 50% in late flower to avoid your beloved crop turning to grey mold before your eyes.
I suggest joining a forum and posting your grow up.uk 420 maybe? Lots of experienced growers on there will help you have a successfull harvest.

You can couple the exhaust fan to a temp controller too, I found this would help regulate at night in cold winters.
I managed to sort a whole carbon exhaust and smaller intake with fans and tubing for under 100 quid.
Make sure you got a little circulation fan in tent too, plants will love you for that addition

Get yourself a hygrometer with min and max facility on it and you'll know what is happening in the tent when you're not around.
With LED's you want about 27c lights on, and no lower than 22 with the lights off. While they are still Vegging, humidity should be around 70% but when in flower you should be aiming for 50%. Probably a tenner from amazon.
You need an extractor fan, probably about a 150mm for a small tent, but this needs to be wired into a fan controller such as an SMS, which will regulate the fan speed depending on what temp is in your tent. When it gets hot, the fan speeds up, and when the desired temp ir reached, it turns itself back down to the minimum. One end of the fan should have a carbon filter on it to hide the smell as best it can and the other end should be vented out of the tent. Not only does this control temps but it also draws in fresh CO2 which is essential to growth.
Next you need a heater of some kind for when the light is off or its particularly cold. Oil filled rads work best. Again, you need a controller for the heater to turn itself off and on as required. G.A.S make a pretty good heater controller for about 50 quid.

If youโve built a pc, try emulate a tower that has bottom / front intakes - exhaust out your top and back.
If really wanting good intakes - get smaller in-line fan and flexi trunking and seal this to window.
In winter i used to run my spent exhaust gas through the door on the room and into the house.
Saved on heating through winter ๐

PC fans are also surprisingly powerful. I used to use them in my fermentation fridge when making beer.

You just need to replenish air, personally in a 5x5 I would use a 8inch extractor on a speed controller, that way you're covered if humidity spikes in flower. A 6inch should do it tho. intake is kinda optional I guess if your on a budget. defo leave vents open tho if not using a intake.
keep RH below 60% in flower and you should avoid mold. You will need the give your grow area and room a very good clean since you have had mold before. You should also see a huge improvement in yield since they would have been starved for co2 on your previous attempts.
keep RH below 60% in flower and you should avoid mold. You will need the give your grow area and room a very good clean since you have had mold before. You should also see a huge improvement in yield since they would have been starved for co2 on your previous attempts.
Use airpots,and utilise the hundreds of holes in the design to blast colder air at the roots inside.
I did exactly that during a winter grow that finished on feb 13th- air was freezing !! Biggest crop I ever got from one 600w bulb 30 odd ozs.

Iโve only grown once, as much to see if I could do it as anything else (cost/effort wise, itโs debatable how much benefit you ultimately get with a small grow, but I enjoyed it). As others have said, air flow and temperature were key things for me. And you also mentioned the smell not being an issue. This is interesting, becauseโdone rightโitโs going to smell *really* strong. So that filter is a must. I used a Black Orchid (100 mm) extractor fan and a 4inch filter made by a company called Ram. And make sure youโre taking care of them when theyโre getting started (I read up on topping and pruning, and it really helped to establish sturdy/healthy plants). Good luck!
I would say also research different strains. Some are more resistant to mold than others.

You can try with a carbon filter but I wouldn't bother, never found one that works. But yes you do need suck all that hot air out of the tent - not push - put the exhaust fan at the exit point within the tent and the other end attach to your light fitting - get a cool tube. And get the most powerful fan you can because you want a powerful suck so that the walls of the tent get sucked inwards, like the opposite of a bouncy castle - this creates the perfect grow environment as well as a few side effects such as killing bugs, they can't live in a negative pressure which is what inside your tent will be if you have the walls going inwards and you shouldn't get any mould. BUT... you still need to move the air around inside the tent and have good air flow over your crop - this will help strengthen the branches and also eliminate mould, end of. To do this get 2 oscillating desk fans and 2 bits of 50cm long bit of timber - turn the fans upside down and unscrew the bottom, screw that to the bit of timber then screw the bottom with the timber attached back on to the fan. Then screw a hole at each end of the timber and get some wire - each fan will be in opposite corners upside down with the wire tied to the top poles of the tent, get them right back in the corner and on oscillate - now buy a timer and plug them both in, put the timer on random times eg 1 hour on, 15mins off, 30mins on, 45mins off, 15 mins on etc for the full 24 hours. This will give you max yields for all the reasons I have mentioned and more. Best of luck.

Couldnโt agree more with everyone! They need to be taken care of like babies ;) Fresh air is difficult especially in winter and humidity when we use heating and all the rain has definitely made us seen a difference and we had to exercise more control. Thereโs some really top dehumidifiers out there bud but as everyone said spend the money and you wonโt regret it as the yield will pay it all off in no time
Have you you got any equipment you could recommend ? This all sound like so much effort but I really need to I spend over 1k a month on weed ๐ just wish I lived somewhere I could just plant and leave it to grow ๐ฅฒ๐ฅฒ

The red was the best I'd had (arguably better than the purple?) ever, until I had that last hash I reviewed. Nearly smoked all of that, unfortunately. Still have a couple of pots of red though.

Your assessment seems spot on there. It's very high quality hash that's still recognisable as hash, and easily smokeable in a joint, which is my main method of consumption. The red is something very special though. Don't know what they did to create that but I imagine there were wizards involved.

I know there's a whole lot more going on with the influence of terpenes, other minor cannabinoids, etc. that we maybe don't fully understand yet so perhaps there's a scientific explanation for it but for now it remains a mystery to me.

that's the thing, science often changes its mind once it considers more parameters and cannabis understanding is still in diapers.
This was actually really interesting. My partner and I have โdebatedโ lol at length the indica v sativa thing and whether thereโs a difference, in the end all I could/can say is a good quality indica to me at least feels like I have a force almost pushing me deeper into the sofa where as a good sativa always brings me up, both mentally and gets me laughing and indeed wanting a good time! Very well put indeed, not just set and setting either, overall headspace and mood, and probably one of the most undervalued metrics in this whole topic is diet + exercise, every single one of these factors will dictate how you're going to be affected by the consumption of THC

Well a hybrid is a hybrid. If my dad is aborigine and my mum is a Klingon then Iโm 50:50 and the world is my lobster right? So cross a sativa haze with a Hindu Kush and it will be a 50:50 hybrid of the two, itโs just what difference that makes in the effects and whether those effects are attributable to the plant type rather than other elements. I guess we are now siding with โother elements โ, which is fine.
But this is evidence based on blind tests where the reported effects didnโt correlate to the strains. In my own lab I have 42 numbered jars- I can only know what strain they are by referring to my trusty spreadsheet ๐ค. When I try them at random and try to guess from the effects whether they are indica or sativa I always get it right. 100%. Not even slightly difficult.
But then I have 30 different tequilas and I am pretty good at blind testing those too ๐ค โฆ..

My thought process is that sativa and indica are individual species of the cannabis plant which would itself suggest some biological variations between the two, so I still think there's maybe something missing from the 'no difference between them' position.
I get that selective breeding over the years has blurred that line somewhat but going back far enough, pure indica plants were very different from sativa variants in terms of appearance and growth behaviour, so logic would dictate other biological differences too.
The reason we started cross-breeding them to create hybrids in the first place was to combine the different characteristics of each species, so why did we do that if they're all the same?
If we're being truly scientific then we have to recognise that just because we haven't yet identified those differences, or what they mean for us, that doesn't necessarily mean they don't exist.

There not saying there isn't a difference more that there isn't a couchlock indica cannabinoid and a hyper sativa cannaboid and that's it's the different ratios of terps/noids etc etc but there isn't a thing that either sativa or indicas have that other doesn't

Totally agree! Pure Banger! Light green color with a strong beer smell! Kept an eye open for it, never to be found!
For me it has to be some Bruce Banner #3 from 1e hulp in the dam all the way back in 2017. I've never been able to recapture that one. It was a skunky, kind of gassy & fruity type all rolled into one with such a unique flavour profile to finish. The high was second to none. Wiped me right out. Left me looking at the world with my eyes so bulged they were basically closed. They say you'll never recapture that first high, this one took me above and beyond.
For sure! It flew under the radar quite a bit and I think it's unique musk and it's face melting is why.
I donโt know if itโs the best, but my favourite strain is Sour Diesel. Iโve been a fan since I tried the East Coast cut that Grey Area used to sell in Amsterdam. Some of the best tasting weed Iโve ever had.

ESB - extra special bud , Old times #2 and S4 - Skunk 4 ways. S4 by far was the best I have ever had even to this day sadly it was a special made breed so will never have the oppurtunity to try it again :(

got an oz like that in the late 90's, had the potent lavender smell and taste. think it was a bit on the indica pheno side. very dark purple and when you snapped the buds in half the core was almost black. amazing bag appeal. really strong and tasty stuff too

I absolutely love blue cheese. So tasty and so strong. I used to get an oz every week off my plug back in the day. Couldn't get enough of it. Got it recently in the dam too at Greenhouse effect. Was just like how I remembered it.

I have found that it's more to do with phenotypes and how they are grown. I've sampled different grows of the same strain and found the effects to differ with each one. Some of these grows have been some of the nicest in effects and then others of the same strain completely lack what was so nice about them.

The best strain I've ever smoked was Skywalker OG about 5 years ago. It was my first time smoking a strain I knew the name of and it was every bit as good as I thought it would be. I wish I could go back and get Zs off them
It's a toss up between bubba kush and amnesia haze for me. Had some bubba for the first time a few months back and it was a gorgeous body high. Delicious body rushes from it. Bought some again recently but doesn't have the same quality of effects unfortunately. Maybe because of different phenotypes ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ.
Amnesia haze almost always gets me to a place of euphoria that's unmatched by other strains. Would love to find a strain that's more euphoric but out of the roughly 20 strains I've tried so far nothing has been more uplifting than ami.

As far as dominant sativaโs goes,Iโve always had a smile when bopping home with a bit of Amnesia in my sky.
I'd go with either MAC by citizen stash or wedding crasher by BLKMRT both outstanding. I also had a bit of alien sin mint cookies by BLKT, I kid you not the bud was bluish instead of purple, all these strains were from a couple years ago when I was living in Canada.

Ok Iโll try and cut a long story short. Iโve been living in a semi detached house for about 6 years. Iโm a daily smoker, Iโm disabled and I have been using weed to manage my pain for about the past ten years. I have never had an issue with any neighbours complaining or anything like that. Recently my landlord sold my house and I was served an eviction notice and due to my disability the council agreed to house me and got me a flat in my local area. I have never lived in a flat before and Iโm quite worried about the neighbours complaining about me smoking weed. ( they are mostly elderly and disabled people) my local housing authority that has housed me has a zero tolerance policy about any drug use and I really donโt want any complaints against me. I have switched to vapes for the time being to reduce the smell. but I really prefer joints and it doesnโt feel the same to me. I usually smoke just pure flower joints. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions? Am I just being paranoid? Any advice is welcome thank you biggas โค๏ธ
I had the same problem mate. I tried a prescription but the costs were ridiculous and i cancelled after a couple of months
that being said it did provide documentation stating i was legally permitted to use cannabis.
I sent the details to tower hamlets housing, and actually just told my neighbours i had a prescription, and just never told them when i cancelled it.
If youโre proactive about it thereโs little they can do.

I sent the details to tower hamlets housing, and actually just told my neighbours i had a prescription, and just never told them when i cancelled it.

If it hasn't been mentioned already, try to get a script. There are plenty of places about that would help you, generally for a ยฃ50 or so consultation fee. They will assess your need, these weed places have their own doctors so it will probs be a video call. If you get accepted, buy some weed off them so you get a bag with a prescription stuck to it... Then I guess you refil the bag with whatever you want. One place that springs to mind is curaleaf

Get a filter that sucks up all the air in the room and an outlet pipe which connects or hangs off your window so the air that gets sucked from the inside get pulls straight out the gaff!

A few months back I bought a purifier listed on Amazon as 'PureMate Smart Air Purifier with Ioniser mode, Air Quality Monitor, Display Off, Air Filter', cost about ยฃ120 with extra filters being ยฃ25ish, I think. That made a big difference though it's already not as good as it was when I first had it - it maybe just needs a new filter (or the old one hoovering!) There are smaller, cheaper versions but I can't comment on how good they are. I got one after seeing a similar post from bigga BBDoom. You probably don't need one with the ioniser or UV light, etc, they don't seem to make much difference? It makes a big difference to have it running while smoking but it's definitely not as 'quiet' as advertised - it also helps (to a lesser extent) if you just run it for a couple of hours after you've gone to bed.
Another thing that might help is to get yourself a good oil diffuser and have a few drops of oil in it that'll help mask the smell - PurEssential makes an oil that helps with smoke odours, and there are similar room sprays that supposedly do the same thing. Lots of stuff online about different diffuser oils that can help to hide smoke smells, etc. In my experience, people notice how 'nice' the room smells rather than anything else ๐๐. We've come a long way from burning some stinky incense (often bad for your breathing) and thinking it does anything other than obviously highlighting that you're trying to cover up a weed smell! Ahhh, the ignorance of my teenage youth! ๐
I've also seen some good smell-proof bags recently (but can't remember what they're called), everything from pencil case to rucksack size - available from Amazon (though I'd caution about having weed-related items in your Amazon history). They'll help reduce the smell if you can be arsed to keep taking everything in and out of it.
Finally, regardless of how 'clear' you think your room smells, get a non-smoking friend in to give you their opinion! You just don't notice the smell as much in your own home if you're constantly around it.

Diffusers whilst smoking will really mess up the air quality, you will have bud smell mixed with lovely oils which will really stench up a place. Your best bet is the filter which sucks the air with the duct connected to your window as the outlet(air output)โฆ Do this and thank me later!
Yep, I didn't mean smoking whilst the diffuser's running - I run the purifier whilst (or after) smoking, and run the diffuser when not smoking (overnight or in the morning). Thanks for the clarification PE ๐. I'm interested in a filter ducting out the window but, when I see that, I always assume there's a grow happening, and I'd be worried that others would think the same.

A fan and filter setup would work best. You can sit it on a table and use it without ducting if need be, on a recycle mode if you will. Any smoke/air going through will get treated. Added bonus, all smoke/air will gravitate towards the filter, so none escapes out the door.

Look up carbon filters its just the same fan and filter you use in a grow,id suggest rhino carbon.filter there good and diff sizes,the smell sticks to the carbon and they do work mate

Not an expert on this subject but I would suggest getting a medical prescription, not for the access to flower etc but more just as some form of protection from draconian council policies. Looks quite bad on them evicting someone who has a legitimate medical reason to use
There are things you can try but nothing smells more than a joint unfortunately. You could try a sploofy, or get a fan and cover it with those scented dry cleaner sheets, or a combo. Better yet might be to consider using you favourite weed in some brownies. But I agree with nesto that if you have some kind of medical note/ prescription that might cover you. Otherwise pray for windy rainy nights where you can smoke it out of your window. I moved to vaping a while back, ULC and dr Terpy are good for distillate, and people who vape swear by live resin vapes, they cost a little more but the high on those is supposedly closer to a joint high, try sensi-mart for that perhaps, people love their live resin stuff. One day I will try this myself no doubt
In my experience, if you're smoking inside regularly somebody is bound to complain sooner or later. You'd be better off switching to dry herb vaping, what one did you buy? I could never get into it until I bought a high-end vape, took a week or so to get used to it but since then I haven't smoked in years. Far, far stealthier.
As others have said. Best solution is what growers do and suck the air through a carbon filter.

carbon filter and fan , you can get fans that are voltage controlled so it will be more quiet, i run a mini 6inch in my smoke room, was better with the larger one but next door is a weed farm so i can slack off
Plug in ozone generator left on timer near front door is a great last line of protection. Yes,I know they arenโt great for your health,but so is being homeless.

I bought an air purifyer and an activated carbon air filter, about ยฃ150 all in.
I can smoke a joint in my living room with both of these on and the smell is gone in half an hour and nobody outside knows any better

Moving it stressful as balls, so we completely understand where you are coming from. In my experience, so long as you aren't a neighbour from hell, most people probably won't care. I live in a shitty flat, and you are very much at the mercy of your immediate neighbours. You might find a single-dweller (who doesn't generally disturb the peace) gets a lot of leeway.
Besides, even if they did complain, the council likely has better things to worry about. I'm not saying the risk isn't there, but moreso that the gaps between 'neighbour disapproves', 'neighbour complains', and 'you get turfed out' are bigger than they seem.

Its been a few years since i have been but the best shops last time were MrK&co and family first and also I had a great time in Reefer - they had some fire dutch and import. for me its more about the atmosphere - I am a chilled stoner and cant stand the ultra busy and loud shops.
Katsu, Mr K, Family First, Bagheera, Bluebird. That's probably my current top 5. I was last there in December.
Probably my favourite Coffeeshop if I had to choose one. You can always rely on Soloโs quality, especially their hash.
I love 1eHulp, for quality of product and a nice place too, a bit of a walk out of the centre but worth it
1eHulp ('First Aid') is a great choice, and not the only good reason for walking out of the centre, it's in a cool part of town. All the best bits of the Dam lie beyond the Prinsengracht. Flower Power round the corner on the Rozengracht is my fave, I discovered Manala Cream in there. Yum!

been twice this year, babas coffee shop was my personal favourite, good price dutch, great seating and a ball vape ready for you to use if you would like at no extra cost. Itโs not in central (15 min bus from station) but i also absolutely love basjoes if youโre lucky enough to sit in the booth.
I like to buy my stuff in the popular ones (Terps army, Family first,grey area ect) then sit in the less popular/places & you can get food in some. Like hillstreetbooze. Bulldog lounge, La grotte. This is a great method tried and tested thereโs a few others but I canโt remember the names ect.

Sounds like the worst advice ever. Just got back last night and the stand out shops are Green place, Terps army, The Plug and Family First.
