Money as a system of control (video)
Andreas M. Antonopoulos is the most articulate and inspiring voice Bitcoin has. Despite his enormous technical expertise he sees the fundamental proposition of crytpo freedom as the lowest layer of the network.

When I read the title I thought this was about capitalism and making people dependent upon money. Instead this is about the fact that government issues currency and can use that to control everything it touches basically, it's a shocking eye opener.

Yes it's not even the amount of money they have it's that they define it, that's implies ultimate ownership of all of it.

All of his lectures are great. I'd recommend the podcasts over the video, they look like a spycam.

The evil that is fiat money has only put a roof over my head, given me an education, bought my car, yearly holidays, food, clothes, medication, healthcare, books, games, TVs, drink, drugs, guitars, computers, phones, tablets and countless other goods and services that have brought pleasure, entertainment and increased my living standard over the years. Those who control fiat money are evil. The bastards. I feel like a twat now for been so gullible.

Yes of course and like a complete idiot I exchanged that labour for central bank issued fiat money that I thought was giving me freedom to satisfy my needs, wants and desires and have a wonderful fulfilling life. What a fool I have been.

I hear ya dog, like an even bigger idiot i learned about bitcoin years ago (from here as a matter of fact) but kept my money in fiat :(

At least with multiple currencies we still have the power to choose, isn't that what freedom is?

Inspirational stuff. Also a great one for sharing offsite and making use of your reference token while you're at it.

There's currently a viral post going around showing a photo in a pizza hut window saying 'credit cards only' and then some crap saying how people will lose control of their assets if we move away from money lol.

It doesn't matter if it's cards, bank deposits or even cash in hand. It's all under the control of a central government that's why it's called "fiat". It can be seized, de-valued, or bankrupted. Given enough time that's exactly what has happened to *every* fiat currency in history.

Request: Escrow Release
Give us the option like on other DNMs to have a escrow release button which pays the funds to the vendor and not just a set month of holds or so, theres no harm in it as long at the customer knows once your confirm there's no going back
Also why does LB still use BTC and not XMR/LTC..?
Also why does LB still use BTC and not XMR/LTC..?

The escrow system is fine and protects us all. Convince me otherwise.
If you want to forgo your rights and give them to a vendor then I suppose that's your right, but it doesn't seem sensible to me until everything is received and resolved.

If the buyer has received the product and chooses to close the transaction. Holding the coin beyond that protects nobody.

Yeah, fair. However we have repeated scenarios where the vendor convinces the buyer to close something, then screws them. There needs to be sufficient protection on both sides. Maybe education is needed, plus release of coin to the vendor when a review is placed, or a maximum timeframe is reached as the default?

glad you were able to see where I'm coming from sorry if I can through as argumentive lol just trying to get more rights for the vendors on here because I feel for them, some of the stuff they have to deal with is ridiculous.
There could be a pop up page with warnings and another confirm button, when funds are being released with escrow. But yep THC said what I was tryna say in a better way, thank you

Ha, that's basically what I've just cross-posted. Apologies, maybe you do buy lots of drugs too!

No drama brother just a open debate I see everybody's point don't know what message came in what order anymore
Have a good rest of your day 💚✌️

It won't be good man, I have to do the Christmas food shopping today! I'm not sure if 2 joints beforehand is cushioning me, or setting me up for disaster... I'll find out soon enough!

Escrow release Is where I can choose to release the the funds instantly to the vendor or not - I'm not fussed with any of the people whom I do business with here they got kilos there not going to scam me over an zip and if they do fuckin hilarious for trying with the implementations in place if we've dealt beforehand & it doesn't take more than 30 seconds of looking at the product to see if it's decent man 9 times out of 10
-
Most DNMs have it I don't know why littlebiggy doesn't & there should be a bigger push for PGP encryption

"there not going to scam me over an zip"
Yeah. Yeah, they are, and some do. Escrow is for the buyers. It's protection incase they get fucked over. Why would a buyer need an instant release button? Vendor sure, but it's Biggy, not the other DNMs.

'Oh, sweet summer child' would be my response to this. I'd be paying 10-20% less on other platforms if people were completely trustworthy, but the name of the game is that people can flip at any time. This gives almost complete protection from that.

Its just business man, never been scammed for the plant in my life
I see both your points but I also don't, release the funds early if the product is in your hand it's no different than a exchange in the street - don't feel comfortable to release funds with that vendor that's fine not like they should be able to pressure you too.

But ultimately, the vendor still gets paid. The customer still gets their product, and the world keeps spinning. No real need to change the format, it's worked for a decade on Biggy.

I bet there is a good few vendors on here who have to get there re when stock is running low but there is probably just a few grand sat in their LB wallet they can't cash out yet its coming out there pocket in advance.
No point holding useless coin for a payment where both ends are happy, it takes you 1 button if you released escrow and you didn't like it then that's on you I guess 🤷♀️
Take it easy 💚

I get where you're coming from, but if you've been here any amount of time, you'll have seen half the numpties that cancel disputes before their issues been resolved all the damn time. I can guarantee you those same numpties will release the funds on ordering, only to be hit with an issue, and be stuck without any comeback. I'd be all for reducing escrow by half, so it's only 2 weeks, cos short of 1-2 vendors, nothing should take that long to arrive.

Thank you man, to be honest as you can see by profile I'm not very sociable on littlebiggy but thought I'd getting chatting to a few biggaz - I've seen a few chromotoasts here though and if I was the vendor/s I wouldn't want them as my customer, put the money aside peace and sanity is more worth it - Kind of why I think vendors should have more rights or at least a tier list/reputation system us customers on here are externally gifted...and it's taken for granted for sure people treat it like it's Amazon while it pretty much already is.
They wouldn't like full PGP communication if they can't wait for the postman 🤣 Remember people always restock before you run out and no more headache 😎💚
Ive only had one package turn up later than a week and it was lockdown didn't get it til like a week into January or something silly even though it was posted before Christmas cut off good old royal mail shenanigans
Oh and has royal mail been great for me recently or everyone else too ??

Biggest concern really, is the absolute space cadets that send their funds to the wrong wallet. Again, these turnips are stoners, who make stupid mistakes, and thanks to transaxe and it's escrow, the fuck ups aren't too hard to rectify. Thing is, there's nothing stopping vendors using both Biggy and the other DNMs.

I know and to be honest for UK2UK no marketplace can compete with littlebiggy, I've only seen 2 or 3 vendors from here lingering around but they don't have the greatest feedback here..
Biggaz are lucky for escrow and the fact that LB lets them even recover the funds even if gone to a wrong address personally I've never done it (fingers crossed never) but I'm pretty sure most other markets will call it your fault and leave it at that shout-out to the Borg's on that one, I'm also quite surprised these people passed the basic crypto quiz when your registrar an account on a exchange but I get it accidents happen we are all stoners and we live and learn
Oh and for the love of god Borg's please use something like https://njal.la/about/ for your domain registrar it's from the co-founder of the pirate bay and he does not like communicating with the police lol even did time in prison due to his domain registrar back in the day.
"We can register with our own data. We will be the actual registrant of the domain -- it's not an ownership by proxy as found with all other providers" I have used them before with 10,000s+ abuse reports and they didn't take any action lol
I agree with there server host though they are pretty bulletproof.
I feel like everyone has had enough of my ranting anyways :) Littlebiggy is amazing almost perfect it just needs a final lick of paint - hopefully we will hear something from the Borg's one day I've been hearing there gonna add LTC for the past 2 years 🤣
Peace ✌️

You don't sound like a regular buyer of drugs with this attitude, franky. Never been scammed?! Yeah, right.
However, if the product is in hand and people want to close the transaction then make that an option, but with a disclaimer when they click on it.

I spend over 1k a month on drugs man can send you my Blockchain explorer if you want? And that's just BTC, But it's also not a competition nor am I proud of the fact - Yeah I've been sold some crap or underweighed like everyone else but for the buck I would of paid I wouldn't called it scammed I like to see it as the true colours have shined but in person I try read the room.

Good luck with your endeavour!

My first ever plug who I got off had kgs of smoke and it was a mental world to 14-15 year old me thought I was sat next to Pablo Escobar - He is friends with my older brother so not like I got exploited or anything just didn't know how to manage my ADHD very well at a young age (undiagnosed for so long), so smoking is the only thing that helped
I'm lucky enough to source some fire locally and on littlebiggy but I like a pallet and no hashish around here nearest Devon ways and prices high
He taught me to grow weed, give me seeds, always trying to learn more about the plant and even has a kid now.
He would tick me £1000s if I wanted too & thats when I reliased it's all the chavys peddling off the shit drugs and trying to rob everyone for him it was just 'business' he would put his own money out of pocket
💚✌️

I had a very similar setup with my old local supplier. He used to come out clubbing with us when we were late teens and he was early 50s. Legend, but I'm pretty sure £1k on tick would be a hard no.

He actually told me that he was so concerned for his health that he went outside when he thought he was having a heart attack; rationale being that someone would see him if he wasn't dying... Absolute legend. Hope he's still with us

Shout out to all the old skool ravers😎 and I just remembered the reason I made this post is because I have tipped a few people tip jar for making LB what it is, if you have any favourite vendors with one open please buy them a coffee people 🙏

Don't release the funds until you've got what you want in hand anyways that was the idea infact it actually doesn't benefit us at all as buyers than maybe quicker stock rotations lol however if I go pickup smoke in person and I agree on 150 and I've got the cash but tell they can't wait because I might of been scammed, now think about some of the people on LB doing it proper and now they gotta wait now for a month I believe it is.. it's just being nice
I've only ever had to charge back once on here and I knew he was a dodgy cunt anyways he got banned and i got 0 percent dispute rate now he's sat at the top of that crappy ***** bot, I try stay away from the chavys cause then sure they will try rob me for a zip but with the way the walk, talk and cat they aren't too hard to miss, usually speaks for itself.
I've landed 100+ packages from LB + other means I've been on here since 21, it's ahead and behind in many aspects, I do understand the escrow system it's a fundamental basic for marketplace transactions it has been for a long time.

what determines the price off bitcoin?
im not an econ guy but im really curious how professionals look at this.

I believe that BTC price is determined by an alcoholic garden fairy, named Phil. He takes his most recent Pacman score (he plays nearly everyday) divides it by the middle two digits of a random phone book entry, then multiplies it by the number of things he can see that begin with the letter 'F'. That, to the power of 3 and dived by Pi, is the current value of BitCoin.

Haha, you write really well. Reminds me of Douglas Adams.
Kudos.
I've posted this before on here but when the Silk Road was a thing (around 2014), I bought 46 bitcoin for $9 each. Spent them all on drugs.
Didn't save any.
Apparently you live and learn but that was a hell of a pill to swallow when they went to $10,000 a piece!
Oh well. Fuckabix.
Cheers BB

Feel your pain here but. I've bought copious amounts of bitcoin at £9, £12, £18 in bigger quantities and did exactly what I intended to use them for, buying weed ha. Which was incredible at the time. No regrets, we weren't to know. It was a lot of new scarily complicated information at the time and a lot to figure out. I'd try spend mine as quick as possible as overnight they were way less or sometimes way more, this use to baffle and scare me ha

Pretty much all coins vary in value like stocks do. There is finite supply of coins based on mining, which is using processor power to solve pieces of the block chain which gets more difficult as it progresses. However no matter the amount of coins that are availible if they are not wanted then the price goes down.
Often times certain events influance the demand for the currancy. The reason it went down this time was due to a Coinbase announcement that they where not going to be allowing BCH trades for a specific period after the hard fork that happened just recently. A big BTC holder sokd off a shiload of coin which started it to drop and of course others started following suit and sold off their coin as well. There are also things like market corrections, people pulling out to invest in stock or alt coins and a bunch of other random shit. Some of which is predictable and others very much not so.
Hope that kinda sumarizes things.

The cryto world is even more fickle then the actual stock market. CoinBase is one of the biggest market places / sellers of crypto so it put a lot of people on edge. Been downward a lot since then.

Supply is limited by mining difficulty so it's always growing at a slower rate. Basically coins are getting harder and harder to mine.

How many people want to buy vs sell!
It's the same as the stock market it's customer sentiment.
It's the same as the stock market it's customer sentiment.

You also have the halving coming up, which will further reduce supply, unlike quantative easing from fiat currency.

We believe it is secretly manipulated by a covenant called the "Council of Satoshi." This cabal, are made up of early developers and influential care bears, who control the market and with magic. They orchestrate the sudden surges and crashes to destabilise global finance, creating chaos that forces the world to relook at the global finance system ;)

I recommend Bittylicious, their fees sometimes are a bit higher than other exchanges, but their service is fast and easy to use

Hi xs8 totally agree 👍 ive used bittylicious the day i first ordered off here. Over 5 years. 😉👍

We figured that either local vendors or https://cryptovoucher.io/ aswell as kraken.to seem to be the best(since no ID is needed for purchasing), but local purchase is the most anonymous. Depends on what kind of transaction you are searching for. Some people genuinely like to buy their crypto via coinbase, opposed to other transaction service providers, your funds are handled/held by them till you withdraw them. Cryptovoucher in example lets you buy the btc and sends it to the given wallet adress, which can in fact make transactions cheaper, a bit faster aswell as more anonymous. What kind of Crypto vendors do yall use and why? would be really interested to know what and how you all are getting your hands on and use crypto.

Do you mean kucoin as they don't request for an ID? Kraken does tho. I use coinbase to purchase here (once I set it up it's worked without fail so why change) Kraken to buy crypto (most secure platform and they actually have customer support), kucoin to buy smaller cap cryptos as they have a long list of them.

Coinbase Pro is what I use. So easy via the app. There’s a transaction fee charged to transfer BTC, guess they need to make their money.

Ones I use the most are bittrex, Binance And Coinbase. Also worth doing some research on uniswap (decentralised exchange).

Binance: Binance is one of the largest and most popular cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide. It offers a wide range of cryptocurrencies for trading and has various trading features and services.
Coinbase: Coinbase is a prominent cryptocurrency exchange that is known for its user-friendly interface and accessibility. It supports a selection of major cryptocurrencies and provides a secure platform for buying, selling, and storing digital assets.
Kraken: Kraken is a reputable cryptocurrency exchange that caters to both individual traders and institutions. It offers advanced trading options, a variety of cryptocurrencies, and robust security measures.
Bitfinex: Bitfinex is a cryptocurrency exchange known for its advanced trading features and liquidity. It supports a broad range of cryptocurrencies and offers margin trading options for experienced traders.
Huobi Global: Huobi Global is a well-established cryptocurrency exchange that serves users from around the world. It provides a diverse range of cryptocurrencies for trading, including popular options and emerging tokens.

I’ve been using Luno since I joined here because I was told it was the safest. The transaction fees recently have been insane, like £22-25 a pop. They keep telling me the charges are dynamic or whatever but don’t actually say why they’re so high this month. Considering changing so any advice would be awesome, I have no clue about Crypto etc.

after Binnace I started using Kucoin, flat 0.00005 withdraw charge for all unverified users. always fast always reliable

Coinbase, but transfer to a separate wallet. Coinbase have closed a load of accounts recently

Have always used Localbitcoins (almost 15 years). If you shop about the offers you can get coin without id checks from the sellers. The site makes you provide details initially though.

Hey guys I got mine coinbase account no problem, but my mate tried to open account and its under review for past 4 days. Tried biliticous and got lost. I'm the older generation and really stragle to open account for him. We are totally useless, when it comes to computer's, Please can anyone recommend easy bitcoin exchange ? So my mate can start buying here? Thanks for help

Bitpanda is very easy to use. Fees can be quiet high to be honest but i buy my coin there, send it to my Exodus wallet and then send to vendor from there.

Anybody ever had this issue.
So basically I bought my bitcoin via coinbase as usual and sent to my coinbase wallet using the send to my coinbase wallet function (never had an issue with this before and have only ever sent to my coinbase wallet)
Anyway coinbase has sent this to some random wallet with no connection to any of my wallets. Coinbase is basically not having it even though the transaction history on the account is all directed at my wallet.
I understand that this is one big fat loss on the wallet and the herb on a time a parent wanted to enjoy some freedom 😂😂 but I guess I just wanted to see if anyone had a similar problem or use an exchange that ain’t gonna flib you around like that.

I use Kraken to buy initially, transfer to Exodus then out to LB from there. Coinbase aren't great and have been known to close accounts for the hell of it (mine included). My current method saves money and a lot of time compared to coinbase. I'd suggest trading elsewhere.

Just downloaded Kraken I’ll give that ago, I ended up just exchanging and sending through revolut (higher prices) but coinbase has left a bitter taste in my mouth they also manage to vanish another wallet that had a little crypto (not loads but enough to top up orders).
I remember being issues with exodus is this all sorted now?.

I've not had any issues since swapping (maybe 4 months ago). As I said, the transfers to LB are a lot quicker and cheaper so all good.

Now then biggaz.
Like an absolute tit, I’ve accidentally sent some Bitcoin to my, mycelium wallet. Is there any way I could I can import it somehow?
For those who are confused, mycelium wallets are fucked and once your funds are in them, you can’t use them.
Thanks in advance, lads and lasses.

Well there you go. If you have a mycelium account on your iPhone, find a friend who has a Samsung phone and access to android apps.
Download the mycelium wallet app and access your account on the android app. Download a kraken wallet on on the iPhone and send the funds from the Samsung mycelium to the kraken account on the iPhone.
I hope this helps someone in the same predicament.

Since when?
I have used the mycelium app for months now, no issues sending or receiving on my end.
Last used 2 months ago and have $20 in bitcoin in my wallet, so won't be the end of the world if true.
Don't see any mention online apart from this post, unless I'm not looking hard enough?

Thanks for your reply weed fox. No matter what BTC address I put into the send bar, the app never recognises the address and thus not letting me send it anywhere.
Please help 🤣

Do I need a wallet to get butcoins at a atm ? What bitcoins sites dies without ID help needed

You might need to find a broker, but they’re dodgy as fuck! If you’re under 18, just say no dude.

I can send you my wallet address and you can try and send all your bitcoin to me!
Honestly man I'm not that knowledgeable on the whole thing myself. I use the QR code from the lb payment page and that sets the amount and the address automatically for me. I then set the gas fee myself.
It was mid March last time I sent anything, so maybe the issue is new? Hope you get it sorted Jimmy 🤞🏻

Bitcoin Virgins Q&A
I think a lot of us have been using btc so long that we lose sight of what a strange and confusing concept it can at first. This thread is for getting your head around btc and how it works on little biggy.

It's all so ephemeral, it feels like I could lose the coins with a typing error or if my computer crashed. Am I being paranoid?

If you have your coins they are in a bitcoin wallet (like blockchain.info's) or an exchange account (like coinbase). Either way you will see a button for "send bitcoins" click on it and it asks for an address.
When you buy an item on little biggy you get a bitcoin address to pay for it. You get the address when you click on the "pay now" button. Just copy and paste it and you're done. You usually see confirmation in a minute.
Relax and remember if you have any problem there is no way to "lose" bitcoins, the record of where the coins went is public. There is no " I sent the check in the mail "nor " I never got your payment.

bitcoin vs ethereum
The motivation behind them is hugely different. bitcoins were created by libertarian types, looking to create a free world on the internet.
Ethereum was more about technical perfection for such an effort. It's not only a coin but a language for commerce between machines.
Ethereum was more about technical perfection for such an effort. It's not only a coin but a language for commerce between machines.

Smart contracts and way cooler community and ideology. Everything starts with an eth. Google Defi, in case you hadnt heard about its recent explosion. The peoples financial system is emerging quickly. BTC looks old in comparison and should play a role as the vaults of crypto, but nothing at all exciting going on. Eth on the other hand...

The ethernet blockchain is "Turing Complete" you can program anything on it. Get a metamask extension for your browser and you can cruise a "decentralized web" that runs on top of the ethernet blockchain. These sites are more resilient than the tor hidden service they really can't be taken down since there is no server.

Recent events have caused BTC to take a sudden drop, what you guys thinking? Big bounce back to a new ATH within the next year? Or is this a rough ride we holding on for a while

I had about £300 left in my wallet bought at $63.5k last week, so it looks like I'm topping that up when it dips below $50k and sitting tight for a few weeks... There was chatter a few days ago of it hitting the previous low around this mark before rallying back to the previous high, and higher. Whatever I do, I'd suggest everyone does the opposite, based on my track record.

Whole market is fucked. Worst day of US stock trading in years on Friday and record losses in Japan. Mass sell off of crypto assets to cover margins. Now there’s a lot of trad Wall Street money in BTC etf’s it’s gonna be more affected than normal by stock crashes.
Although this is pretty rough short term it’s pretty bullish overall as people will look to move money from the traditional markets.
Gonna be blood red across stock portfolios when markets open.
If you zoom out and see BTC was 15k 18 months ago I’d say a pullback is necessary. New all time high before the years out 🙏🏻

Wallet Shenanigans
Earlier today I went to buy using my already loaded wallet. I checked the current gas fees on Mempool, and 11sat/vB seemed optimal. My wallet wanted to send at 6sat/vB 'Standard', and 7sat/vB 'Priority'. I ignored this, and through the custom option it advised me that 11sat/vB was much too high. Clearly that's why I then watched it being bumped back into blocks before taking nearly an hour to hit first confirmation. If I'd chosen 6sat/vB because I'd expect the wallet not to try to screw me due lack of understanding it would still be unconfirmed, and potentially may never be as these figures are the lowest I've seen in about 9 months.
Tl;dr Check Mempool and use Custom sending options in your wallet. Trust no-one.

Santander and Bitpanda
After my hassle with Coinbase, which still hasn't been resolved after 6 months, I now buy my BTC via Bitpanda funded by my Santander account and transfer to my Exodus wallet. All well and good, but now Santander just refuses to let me buy it. Are they blocking crypto purchases totally now. In the meantime I've applied for a Monzo account but just curious why now. It's my money and Im not being scammed, so why shouldn't I be allowed to buy Bitcoin? Bloody fiat!!!

Santander ask far too many questions and try tell you were and who you can transfer your money. Agree monzo and revolut are the way forward

Right, I've now got a Monzo account that I can use to buy via Bitpanda and then transfer into my Exodus wallet and buy from LB that way. Hopefully this shouldn't flag up as suspicious activity as I'm just buying crypto right????

Yep, should never be suspicious activity since we have a right to spend our money how we chose. These banks are criminal. Move away from the big chains if you can, they hold too much power.

I did that for ages with Coinbase until September last year when they blocked my account with £300 in it. It's now worth about £700 but I'm still battling to get it back. If they don't want my business then fine, just give me my money. Bunch of thieves.

RBS was the first bank to stop me buying bitcoin then my Monzo account stopped it. Currently using a Revolut account which lets me convert cash to bitcoin easily. Last order for $130 was about $5 for the fees.

I thought that Monzo was ok for Crypto? Just in the process of applying for an account but if they're not Crypto friendly I'll go with Revoult. Cheers for the advice.

Are you doing card or transfers from your Santander account?….Lloyds blocks my debit card but allows direct transfers 🙄

Transfers from my Santander account via online banking and via the app. My other account is a TSB one which has no chance of allowing me to buy Crypto.

Sorry to hear that- bunch of twats!
I did engage with Lloyds over it because I just don’t see how they have the right to control what I buy. I was put through to fraud prevention and I had to answer various questions to convince them that my frequent small sends to Bitpanda were of my own violation and that I understood the risks and I wasn’t being coerced🙄. They said that Visa would still block it on my card not them, but they would allow direct transfers from my current account.
May be worth chatting with Santander?…

Thanks for the advice Polly, it's worth a try and I shall now have to brave the dreaded call centres. It's a joke that whilst what I will actually buy with the BTC is illegal, the actual purchase of the crypto is not. It's my bloody money after all! They really do not like us not using their institutions do they!

It is incredible.
Even the newspapers that were revelling in the big falls with "we told you so!" articles are now running with "why crypto in your portfolio makes sense with stratospheric gains!"...
I said to Lloyds- "if I want to drip feed small amounts and build up a crypto stake 100% at my own risk how can you block that? Every week you try and get me to buy a stocks and shares ISA, so there are no risks in the stock market then? At the first naval blockade of Taiwan by the Chinese, $10 trillion will be wiped off global markets. But you are still trying to flog it to me!"

Though Islamic States did most of the minting for over 1400 years anyone has been able to produce this coin and it is still accepted as currency in many circumstances.

You could argue gold was the 1st decentralised currency in being that even today it stands as currency. technically paper money and bank accounts are just a reflection of how much gold and silver a person has

I have a payment pending for more than 72h now. Did anyone experience such long delays?

You sent with too low of fees by mistake, it will either eventually confirm or be forgotten by nodes after 2 weeks and return to your wallet.

So about 00:10UTC on 20/04/24. I'm the only one watching this, with the cool fireworks on Mempool.Space, right?

You watching it progress through the chain? Nearest to the dotted line is what you want...

Wish i knew what that meant, i only check it to see how high fees might be, this dont look good.

just looked at blockchain they wanted $328 in fees for a $35 transaction on sat 20th 21:30.
That is insane and looks like i will be having a THC break until it gets lower.
If LB have another payment system in the works now would be a good time to launch it as btc is fucked until further notice.

It's amazing how quickly near zero revenue will focus the mind of an entity that otherwise seems very slow to change...
I can't imagine anyone on here has bought anything today, unless they're buying by the lb.

Exodus and Referral Payments
Hey Biggas. I hope someone who knows more about crypto than me can help here. I use Exodus to receive referral payments from Transaxe but it seems like each time I receive a payment it pushes up my network fee.
If I wanted to send $60 worth of BTC Exodus is charging a $33 network fee. I have a friend who has no referral payments going to Exodus and for them to send the same amount at the same time it would cost them 55 cents. Does anybody know why this happens? I did get a few warnings from Exodus about receiving these payments but they weren't very clear about how and why this is a problem so I ignored and deleted.
Finally, can anyone recommend a wallet I can use where this won't be an issue? If this is a problem across all wallets then I'm tempted to deactivate my token as I don't think the rewards are worth the network fee spikes.

Have a similar issue. Got a few hundred. But impossible to move. Even if I try with high fees it fails. Don't even bother with it anymore. I made a post about it before. See if the tips on there help you.

The whole referral thing just doesn't work to be frank it needs a revamp. Put it in a separate wallet or you won't be able to really use your other bitcoin. You can even use a different Exodus wallet its a good app.
Tried to cash out my referrals and the lowest setting wants to charge me 40% of the total to send. Average sats per byte has the fee HIGHER than the amount in the wallet. On top of payments from this time last year that didn't get paid out but messaged them about both and i've got no response so just going to leave it. Really the whole payments here needs a revamp because I've had similiar with my actual profit whereby i've paid eyewatering sums and its still took weeks to come.

It's not Exodus that is the issue.
They sent you some payments with too low of a fee by mistake, so they are unconfirmed.
The problematic transactions will show as 'pending' on Exodus.
Wallets charge you extra for spending unconfirmed transactions. (CPFP)
Around 2 weeks after you *received* them they will be forgotten by nodes and transaxe will send again with larger fees.
Then you will be able to send with normal fees.

I think what you clicked on and ignored was their alert to tell you it looked like you were receiving small mining payments and they'll cost loads in fees to send...
To send $25 the other night gave me a $24 fee with Exodus! So I checked the current sat/vB requirement and changed it to 13 sat/vB and the fee came down to about $15. Doesn't seem to be any way around this, it's just how it works. I find that a large chunk added to the wallet seems to split the fees a bit as a few small payments get bundled with a bit of the large one. They're still a lot higher than if you weren't paying with tiny payments that presumably use more processing power to get confirmed and hence the fees for the miners are higher to make it more enticing a prospect.

Yes mate, that was the gist of the messages I got from them. Should have paid more attention.
I got my Mrs set up on Exodus not long after I joined here so I am going to leave my wallet for referrals and use hers for LB purchases. The dummy send I did on her account had fees of less than a dollar, I couldn't tell you the last time I saw network fees like that on my account.

I had exactly the same problem, the advice for u.k customers on their website is to transfer any btc asap so that's what i did and they charged me £55 to send £200 of btc on the lowest fee setting of 1 and the transfer took 7 hours, i was lucky to get the coin out considering the harsh crack down by the uk government on anonymous wallets.

Great question, I also have Bitcoin tied up in the Coinbase Wallet and its also trying to charge a crazy network fee to get it out of there, referrals are currently going into the .com account and there's no spike in fees or anything there so no idea why its happening in the wallet and its not giving me the option to adjust fees so its just stuck 🤦🏻♂️

I was just reading through it and im hoping this is a similar problem to what im seeing, so in theory in a couple of weeks time those of us having the same problem should be able to send coin again with more normalised fees?

Go into your wallet and click on the transactions individually.
If any one of them says something like 'pending' 'unconfirmed' etc then this is definitely the problem.
The default amount of time is 2 weeks anyway, or if fees drop to the rate transaxe sent with then it will be confirmed sooner but more likely to be the former.

Thanks mate, unfortunately I dont see any that are pending so maybe mine is a different problem.
Have payment going into the .com for now till i figure it out and they arent spiking the fees there as i sent some out earlier so im not sure that is my issue.

Fees will always be high for sending referral payments back out because you’re receiving tiny payments. One singular payment will have a much lower fee than sending a bag of individual pennys, even though you see one value in your wallet it is not classed as such when sending

Just had a shock at the cost today miners fees to sell into stable including converting into stable for $3000 in BTC equals $358 in fee's minus the 15% to platform $450 plus $358 equals $808 take that off $3000 leaves $2192 WTF!!!
Basically having to pay to work.

Why Did Someone just send $1 million to Satoshi Nakamoto's Genesis wallet?
An unidentified crypto wallet on Jan. 5 sent some 27 bitcoin – worth $1.17 million at the time – to the first-ever Bitcoin address attributed to Nakamoto, shortly after withdrawing roughly the same amount from crypto exchange Binance, blockchain data by Arkham Intelligence shows.
Wallet's worth $50 billion btw.
Wallet's worth $50 billion btw.

I was wondering if there's any chance they were trying to put it in my wallet and got the wrong address, easily done if you're not using the QR codes🤞🏻

Apparently it's something to do with tax.they sent that amount because now they have to legally declare the amount to the tax man. ie trying to get him to doxx themselves at least that's what I heard.

Anyone else waiting hours for the coin to confirm on the network? Placed a small order this morning at 8:30 and it’s still pending confirmation on the blockchain. Been over 11 hours! Never know it take so long.
I’ve checked the transaction ID and I’m in the queue at no. 35000 of 225000. 🙄 I can’t up the fees on the app either to make things quicker! LB please can you implement litecoin? I know you’ve heard it all before but it takes minutes to send and fees are cheap as chips. Love your work tho ❤️

I sent $40 through Binance using a vpn yesterday and was charged $13 but it only took 10 mins to confirm.

There's websites that will boost your progress in the queue, i can't remember what the service is called, i've a couple bookmarked on lappy but they're not so much use unless you pay a little.
I waited 12 hours couple weeks ago tho i didn't pay much fees (a quid odd for a £75 transaction) but i caught the deadline anyways.
Last nights order around 22 hours ago went through fine, £144 transaction including the three quid odd fees.
Had one in past that took around 24hrs, but the blockchain was terribly congested at the time.

Or just set transfer fee to a higher fee. It will be picked up by a miner and transactions will be faster.
Lower fee's = slow transactions. Why we need to use bitcoin layer 2. lightening node. instant and low to no fees.

Cheers for that. Didn’t know about the boosting sites. Never had the issue before. Longest I’ve waited is 5 hours. I’m sure it’ll go through eventually. Probably got bumped out of a block or something and I’m now back of the queue. Not that I know much about this crypto business.

Anyone else’s getting really high fees?
So I usually use zengo but the last day the fees have been 20-45£ so I opened a new account with bitpanda now they are quoting 50£ fees, anyone got any idea what’s going on?

Glad I’m not the only one, fees have gone through the roof for some reason. Was hoping to find an answer on here

Yea Basically the bitcoin network is over run with a lot of payments it can’t handle it all so it’s put the fees up to stop people paying with bitcoin till it returns to normal , I managed to get lucky and send my 400£ order for very little fees at 4am

Coinbase - Verify ID - Not Working 23/3/23
Trying to send payment and it's once again asking for ID or it'll be sent in 3 days. I had this issue before and it finally accepted an ID then but I'm having zero luck here. It's never been like this until a few weeks ago. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Something I can do to stop it busting my balls every time? Merci beaucoup x

Try a different device, i now use my pc as lappy it doesn't seem to like, i also changed my two step from a text message to the google authenticator.
Couple night ago my bank wouldn't send me confirmation txt either, if it's not one thing with CB it's another.
Hope you get it sorted, many suggestions on the wall for places to buy btc these days so check them out too.

Cheers man. I'll certainly be looking at a coinbase alternative. I'll try on my laptop next time and see if I have better joy than I have on my phone. Is verification with coinbase something that is supposed to happen with every single transaction or is it forgetting me some how?

Go into your security setting in cb and have a look if something can be done there.
Every purchase needs to be verified by bank to first buy and then by cb to send, at least for me.
In my history on coinbase i've sent my btc to the same wallet address every time, so it doesn't look sus, looks like i'm saving up my coins in same wallet.👍

I'm looking for suggestions for a coinbase alternative please. I'm normally sending about £150 of BTC a month and pay about £3 to buy then about 50p to send. Are there any others I can use without increasing the fees I pay? I tend to hold around £100 of BTC as an asset and don't bother with the wallet, just transfer in then out to the seller. Thank you

Payment on hold for three days? (Coinbase 3/3/23)
Just gone to pay for a relatively large order as I've done a many times and it's told me the payment is on hold until the 6th? This is through coinbase. It asked me to verify my identity to release the payment immediately, with ID and a selfie, which I did but nothing has changed. Any ideas?

Yeah I had the same issues couldn’t send any payments till I updated my ID with them I used the main Coinbase.com website to update as the app didn’t seem to update my ID worked in the end by logging into their website not the coinbase app hope this helps 🥳

I don't want to rock the boat with my banks. Both currently accept payments to coinbase. The fees are shit yes.

Congo National Park Now Mining Bitcoin
Waterfalls produce electricity, instead of bringing a huge electricity network through the park they can use it to mine on nearby computers and pay for the park's expenses.

That's brilliant. They can also use the water like an A/c to cold down machines and mining room

Remembering Hal Finney on the Anniversary of the First Bitcoin Transaction
On Jan. 12, 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of the Bitcoin system, sent Hal Finney, a well-regarded cryptographer and computer scientist, 10 bitcoin (BTC). This test transaction, sent before BTC had a quotable price, was a harbinger of the many peer-to-peer transfers to come enabled by the world’s first cryptocurrency network.

Bitpanda prob: "transaction amount too low"
Hey biggaz, I'm currently been trying to send over 50 euros of bitcoin to my exodus wallet these last two days, but I keep getting the "transaction amount too low" warning blocking me. Their minimum transaction amount is only 10.95 euro plus 1.15 euros in fees. What is going on?
I'm now remembering that I had this same issue with bitpanda in the past, but forgot how I resolved it. Any ideas?

Best method to cash out without attracting attention from banks/government
Hi guys.
I think this question is mainly for the vendors.
So, what is the best option to cash out small/large quantities of BTC for fiat without attracting attention?
Mainly methods which allows you to have the money in your bank account instead of cold cash.
I know what I'm asking, so if you don't want to share it publicly but still want to help me with some advices, please drop me a dm.

bisq is a decentralised exchange with individual traders and ratings, a little more work but probably #1 for safety. that said local cryptos and paxful offer a broader range of traders and fiats under a centralised paradigm but with a long track record.
with all of these options, just like here its about reputation and escrow.
with all of these options, just like here its about reputation and escrow.

This does not resolve the issue, because I then have to sell that gold for fiat, thus I get thrown back to the starting point.
But thanks for this option
But thanks for this option

I used to mine crypto,
nicehash software has an exchange and lets you withdraw to bank account, after you've verified that same bank account.
So you're a miner now, all you need is pc.
UK is growing supporter of crypto imo, in general at least, i know it's competition to banks.

I’m pretty sure you can buy gold in bitcoin on some websites it’s a pretty sketchy coin ur definitely not the first and won’t be the last to try to hide it from the government so there is many many ways to do it but in reality unless ur a big time drug dealer they simple don’t care and will not investigate as it’s not unusual for people to havelarge amounts of bitcoin which is legal

Look for a money launderers..
They take your BTC for Cash.
edit: Sorry dude just read you want it in your account and not cash..
Not sure your gonna have to clean the money before put it in your account.. or get individuals to withdraw small amounts of btc through their account and get them to send it to your account.. but you’ll be leaving footprint...

Coinbase sends locked 24hrs
Hi folks, my sends have been disabled for 24hrs, i've been promised they'll be activated again tomorrow, anyone any experience with this horseshit?

Not experienced this yet but i notice that CB are going through some big changes at the mo, we can no longer transfer from CB to CB pro. I used to buy for around
0.15p on pro now i have to buy with regular CB but to be fair they have reduced their fee's to around 1.50 so not a massive loss.
Others have mentioned that signing in on a desktop can cure certain CB problems, hope you get this sorted out bro.

Hi it got sorted, exactly 24hrs later, what a pain tho!
This is second issue i've had with it, last one was it setting a very low buy limit for me, both times i had my vpn set to uk, usually it's usa and i've yet to have any issues from there.

Glad you got it sorted in the end. Maybe being a U.S company helped, the rules are constantly changing from one country to the next, i wish i had the time to keep up with it all.
Very useful vpn info, i will be sure to USA in future with CB.
If i get any more issues with CB i will post them here with hopefully with a solution cos we all gotta stay high !

What Are The Different Types of Bitcoin Nodes? How the Bitcoin Network is Maintained
Because Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer payment system, it does not have intermediaries or middlemen to enforce consensus rules on the Bitcoin network. Therefore, nodes must achieve consensus amongst themselves. They do this using the Bitcoin software.

Buying bitcoin wihout having to phone the bank?
Does any bigga have a solution to this or any ideas I can try? I'm sick of calling the fraud team they know me by voice now lmao - every purchase now I have to call in even when under £100.
Is everyone running into this problem? My btc provider has suggested I get a monzo account but I don't have (or want) a smart phone and it looks as though they only let you use the app? Does anyone have any other non-app ways of buying bitcoin?
Cheers Biggas, I know it's been asked before but usually the answer is "switch banks" and there's got to be an easier way!

Are you using a debit or credit card ?,i know if you are using a debit and it is a mastercard and are buying in dollars then mastercard always sends you a text from the fraud department(is this you- yes or no),this is a pain as your first buy always gets cancelled because of it and you have to repeat the buy.
This is on blockchain.
Thanks to the new regulations sneaked in the back door by our corrupt UK government you are always going to get some kind of check when trying to buy bitcoin in the UK using a bank.
As for an easier way well they stopped all them like shutting down the ATMs to make it as hard as possible to buy without making it illegal(which they cant but would love to do if they could)

I joined a site called coinbase, who i am able to send money from my on bank account to coinbase, and then buy bitcoin on this site.
you can then sent bitcoin to what ever address you like, there is normally a charge from your bank for the tranfer to coinbase
you can then sent bitcoin to what ever address you like, there is normally a charge from your bank for the tranfer to coinbase

Ah cheers mate I'd forgot about coinbase I've always avoided them because of the extra fees but if they can take deposits no problem then I think that might be my best option now tbh, beats sitting on hold for 30mins everytime I want to make a purchase anyway lol! :)

Coinbase works fine for me. 30 pence to send $120 last time. Monzo blocked my card purchase but not direct transfer, halifax transfered fine (again direct, not card).

halifax is who I'm having issues with so thats good to know I always do transfers too card always gets blocked. I thought coinbase was more expensive than that so looks like they'll be the best option then, I had always used bittylicious until now but it seems like pretty much all their traders accounts have been flagged by halifax now.

Sending straight from coinbase is a bit dodgy unless your doing it from a coinbase wallet but that's on an app.

Don’t use Coinbase use Coinbase Pro. Fees are WAY less. You just send fees straight to your CB pro acc - there in seconds then buy btc with normal exchange fees not Coinbase app ridiculous fees. Whole process takes under a minute :-)

bitcoin fee's
Hi, I've bought off here 7 times now, the 1st 6 times were between last september and early january I'm pretty certain the charges I incurred for sending bitcoins from my Paxful wallet were around £5 or $5 Last week I made a purchase and was somewhat "surprised" to find that the fee was now .0004 Btc (£16) Has anybody else noticed this? Is there anyway around it? is it just Paxful ?
Personally an extra £16 would make it just too expensive fo me
Personally an extra £16 would make it just too expensive fo me

yeah admin needs to add LITECOIN OR MONERO. Much cheaper fees and easily accesible for most

I thought I just come up with a genius idea called cannacoin but after a swift googling it appears someone beat me to it! We should use that on here.

Bitcoin has become over priced to send, I tried to send the £19 I had left in my wallet set it to send all and it would only send £7.62 the balance £11.38 is fees. Tried the same transaction values with litecoin and the charge would have been 12p !!! COME ON LB INTRODUCE LITECOIN NOW!

the BTC in my wallet has lost close to £20 in value over the last 24 hours and no matter what time i try to send the fees are just so high! unless i want to set the limit to about 12 bytes and wait 6 hours ..lol

If you buy bnb then send ot to your atomic wallet you can change it to btc in the wallet and then set your own miner fee . I set my own miner fee to like a fiver it takes longer but the initial transaction still goes through. To swap from bnb to btc its not even even pound . Xlm would be the perfect currency or bnb . 0.01 xlm transaction costs which is less than a penny

The fluctuation and rise of btc price has driven fees up, personally I would use a wallet like electrum where you can select lower mining fees... One example might be buying a months worth of coins from a vendor like coinbase and transferring that to an electrum wallet, where you can then send payments at a lower tailored fee.
It may mean moving away from Paxful, but then be aware of minimum withdrawals as it may be possible to buy $30 worth btc, but the minimum you can take out is $70. Ultimately it's something you will have to research to find the best method/price for you, best of luck.

...or alternatively vote with our feet as the vendors have and just not use LB until it’s sorted properly and made fair for sellers and buyers.
It’s not rocket science to offer alternatives to BTC and it makes me slightly suspicious as to why LB are dragging their feet over this.
Come on LB! Don’t let us all down....

Too many exchanges now are charging expensive fees to buy and send btc off their exchange. I have a cex.io account...I recently bought $1500 of btc and was charged about $100! Is this about the going rate? I chose cex.io because it has one of the finest security ratings, unlike Coinbase where accounts are subject to hackers and random shutouts of user accounts. Be careful and choose an exchange wisely.

I can understand why its BTC only - pretty much all the ‘real’ cash money (NOT USDT) still flows in and out of bitcoin almost exclusively. That being said the fees are definitely a problem making it impractical to buy smaller amounts from a variety of sellers which was always one of the things I really liked about this site
I think the fees will gradually come back down to earth but unfortunately so will the spot price ;)

Government controls and the benevlent laziness of developers are actually speeding up the develpoment decentralized systems.

My payment is being withheld by someone elses bank whilst buying BTC
Last night I tried to buy £xxx worth of BTC to pay for an order I made on here however apparently the brokers bank is holding MY money for "additional checks" so the broker can not release my BTC and I also can not get my money back as it's being held by someone elses bank not mine and until they release it that money is in the ether...
how can that even be legal? they can't even give a timeframe on when it will be released so far they've held it for 13hours and they wont even tell the broker when or if they are going to release my payment or what these "additional checks" are even for.
I use one of the major UK markets for my BTC I've been told by them that this is getting more and more common as a result of the bank clampdown (and I pay by transfer not card).
Thought I'd warn the biggas at any point you might send a payment for some btc and that persons bank might just decide to withhold YOUR payment! Dunno what I'm going to do now other than play the waiting game I guess but fuck bitcoin and fuck the banks! (I also feel a twat making the sellers wait for payment!).
Stay high biggas!

So I used to use bittylicious but often had the problem of my bank suspecting fraud so would hold the payment back I had to ring them and tell them it was a payment I made through my own choice and to release it. Which was a pain in the arse.

Update - the brokers bank released the payment after 15hours and the bitcoin finally landed! thanks to Daan and RB for the patience and support.
For anyone wondering I bought the btc through bittylicious, why the brokers bank held the money none of us have been told (they just want to make buying btc difficult, I doubt they did any "additional checks"). Be careful out there biggas <3

Yes mate, never had an issue with them before but they said this is happening to 6-7 transactions at a time now and when the bank finally release one payment they immediately withhold a new one and the bank wont talk to bittylicious about it. They use an escrow system so you can't really lose out as such but it still felt very iffy, had me worried for a little bit anyway!

old databses were like taking the word of a chicken farmer. fuck that, we've seen chicken run.
blockchain is a public proof of things that actually happened. we don't have to trust that a farmer is freeing his chickens to walk around a bit.

BTC VS MONERO as payment option
BTC VS MONERO as payment option
Would anyone else be interested in an XMR payment option as it would be a lot more secure than BTC?

People are sheep, XMR is privacy based, what we are buying is illegal (in most places) so it would seem obvious to use xmr
but btc was the first coin and now the biggest
but btc was the first coin and now the biggest

the more research i do on monero the more its everything people told me bitcoin was! Cheap, fast, secure and ACTUALLY anonoymous. How do we get monero on here?

i agree xmr is a more secure option
it is at the end of the day deemed as a privacy coin
the only trouble i feel with this process is that customers may find difficulty creating theyre first transaction
as syncing the wallet can take upto a week using a regular hdd and a local node
this must be done, as without syncing the wallet no payments can be made
this is the issue i had when setting up and using xmr, my coins where basically stuck for a week while my getmonero gui synced

Bitcoin is to mainstream now,
What happens when they audit the Bitcoin block chain. Which they probably will at some point...
People are going to have big problems

I agree it does make more hassle for the buyer, but if you kept the btc payment system as well at leastpeople would have the choice

I guess hopefully some body from the LB staff sees this and might work on making it happen, I can't really think of another way we could make it happen

More secure probably not, harder to trace maybe. But the dept for homeland security has had tools to trace it since Aug 2000.

they are truly amazing. not only is that before monero was invented it's before the department was established.

They’ve not cracked it, they are able to get a general idea but not the specifics, it’s gonna be a cat n mouse. OxMR has the new zsnark tech and maybe it’s the next gen

Greenfinger has a bit of a promising breakthrough.

Hey guys! New buyer here, great expierence so far!
The first time I made a purchase on here was using the wallet supplied by paxful and they charged me roughly 15 dollars in fees for an order than was about 40 dollars.
That made me then spend a long time searching for an alternative to use, because those rates from Paxful were absurd.
I found an app on the playstore called "Edge", (they're on apple devices too) and I used it to make a purchase with MJConcentrates. It worked like a charm. You can buy bitcoin and send bitcoin all from the app, and I got charged about 3 dollars for a 130ish dollar transaction.
You do need to verify your ID once when buying coins, so if that's something you don't want then avoid Edge. Though, if that doesn't bother you, I got my coins almost instantly, they sent instantly and the app is really user friendly and secure.
I hope this helps someone :)

I'm definitely going to give it a go, Bittylicious killing me with fees, £55 required and they want £73???? Bloody outrageous ?

DO NOT USE CEX.IO. The fees are 0.0005 BTC, which was ok to begin with but now that's almost £20 to withdraw.
THEY JUST INCREASED THE MINIMUM WITHDRAWAL LIMIT TO 0.002. My order was for 0.0019 & wasn't allowed. I had deposited the exact amount for the order but needed to add more. The minimum deposit is $20, which is more than I have left in my bank account now.
WITHDRAWALS TO MASTERCARD ARE SUSPENDED.
I now have £74 in my account, which I cannot withdraw to my card, I can't pay for my order & I can't deposit more to increase it. If I do add funds there will be over £10 sitting there, which I can;t get back out.
DO NOT USE THESE THIEVING SCAMMERS.

Thanks for sharing looks just the ticket. Which method of buying the btc did you use and was it quick? Cheers

Gonna check this out! Thanks man, Wirex are bumming me hard at the moment with no lube -_-
Edit: The reviews are a bit disconcerting lol
Edit: The reviews are a bit disconcerting lol

I'm commenting just to tell people to NOT use Wirex. Ridiculous fees, appauling service. I transferred Eth a few weeks back... it took 6 days to transfer and they told me it was network congestion...never again

oh? on the app store the reviews were good, on android anyway. I can't speak for the others but my expierences with it has been positive.

Is there not risk by sending BTC from a non anonymous account? I was considering using samurai wallet. Any experience? Buy the coin from bittylicous or some other exchange first.

Well, with Bittylicious you need to verify your idenity still i'm sure, so if any bad actors needed to trace you, they can always trace back to bittylicious from whatever wallet you're using.
I've never used Samurai Wallet so I can't speak on it really.
when you use any wallet to send to a seller of any kind, legit or non legit they can't see any of your personal details, until you give them your name/address for shipping of course.
I would say there is no real risk when it comes to using non anonymous accounts. the biggest risk we as buyers take is having a (wrongly) illegal substance come to our house. Which, lets be honest here, the police don't really give a shit about weed.

Thanks! I was thinking that using samurai (anonymous wallet/android app) could protect the identity of the ultimate buyer (me). Of course on the block chain you could see where the BTC originates (my verified account) however the wallet sending the BTC to the seller would be anonymous (with VPN used) therefore no way of proving you actually made the purchase.
Can you tell me anything about the sellers wallet/security status (what if little biggy/seller was hacked)
I'm looking to make my first purchase but still trying to understand everything

Honestly though, when it comes to weed, expecially small amounts, police won't go through the ball ache of trying to prove stuff like that, like I said the biggest potential issue is one of the RM.
I wish I could tell you about the sellers security, I just don't know anything about it to be honest. I think it would need to be escrow that got hacked to compromise our details? I know that the addresses and orders gets deleted from the biggy servers after x amount of days.
I placed my first order a week or two ago and have had 4 different things come since then. Just make sure you stick to reputable sellers and check out the reviews before you place an order.

Edge looks pretty cool. What function do you use to send BTC to the seller/another wallet? Seems to be fairly annon other than the BTC payment method

Wish I saw this earlier, paxful fucked me over so hard earlier I had to pay 15 in fees for a small purchase

The second I got charged X amount in fees by paxful I hunted and managed to find this wallet thankfully, the reviews and all that from others are good and my personal experience with it was good too so atleast you won't be charged exuberant amounts now lol

48H of bitcoin tanking
i've got a mate who actually called the top (he's the reason i was making so many threads about not being able to move my money this time last month) and he reckons we've reached a bottom now. Even the things he was telling me to look out for beforehand I have seen such as the capitualtion wick down to low 30ks. Now hopefully bitcoin goes back towards 50k

Investors must be absolutely shitting themselves now.
Can't imagine what it's like for the sellers on here who have money sat in escrow tho :(
I know nothing about it but heard a story a couple of weeks a go that some big players had all predicted the end of bitcoin was on the way so wouldn't bet on this sink being over yet.... could be good for buying btc if goes down to more reasonable level.

-30% across the big crypto’s now (3pm 19/5) !
Can the environment be enough to kill the golden goose??
Can the environment be enough to kill the golden goose??

This could well be the beginning of the end for Crypto, it’s been a bubble waiting to burst and that bubble may well now have burst. As zz87 says below, I feel really bad for all the vendors with Crypto stuck in escrow as they are going to have taken a mega hit, potentially a completely screw you over kinda hit.

I don't think you can 'end crypto'.
If you look at some of the newer crypto and how are they build you will start looking at BTC and ETH as more of prototypes than the actual currency.
I don't think regulators can keep up with technology. Remember - the point of crypto is to replace government controlled currency, it newer was about quick gains and 'one solution we have to stick with'. At some point you just won't need FIAT currencies to survive.

I been trying to wack a few quid extra in for vendors etc and whoever's looking after funds should be moving it around especially if their experienced enough I been riding the rollercoaster of crypto for a few yrs I think their trying to sink it BTC was created and people where told a few yrs back it's to cripple the economy but China couldn't let it ride the full course hence their trying to get every pennie back from it's citizens but if it stabilises then all the cheap BTC coming out of China should be a great asset it's not like their government won't try sell it next door cough cough Russia IMO but it could go alot of ways

Bottom line is some very rich people want a piece of the action. They resent the fact that this is a new technology they don’t control of have the hang of.
So they’ll try to destabilise the market under the auspices of ‘regulation’ ‘crime’ ‘customer access and consumer protection’’ and all the other bullshit excuses they can come up with to get their slice.
So there will be more dips and peaks forced by traders to try to liquidate their clients assets, the tech will not go away! It’s here to stay and in time there will be customer terminals and pay options for retail. It’s inevitable. I think BTC will robustly recover and be back up way above today’s levels by the end of the year.
Long term three year very healthy gains will be made ultimately. I hope that by 2024 we could see very large gain on investments.
Hold your nerve, diversify (freecoin, Shiba coin etc) and don’t let the Uber rich arseholes make a fortune from your assets!!! :)

Hold your nerve, diversify (freecoin, Shiba coin etc) and don’t let the Uber rich arseholes make a fortune from your assets!!! :)

Also- twats like Musk are just glorified government contractors. Dodgy ones at that! Yes he’s a bit clever, but not that much and he’s also an arsehole.
He tried to play the market and the market told him to fuck off. :)
Another tip is to invest in gold and silver. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
Metals are a good physical product while cash is ultimately worth jack shit if things go wrong!
This is all my opinion and not financial advice though.

Agree with Tommy . We've seen this before, players pushing price down to get cheap BTC.
To them morons who saying BTC will go to zero and end of crypto, put the pipe (joint) down and educate yourself ffs. !
To them morons who saying BTC will go to zero and end of crypto, put the pipe (joint) down and educate yourself ffs. !

It’s ends when people educate themselves about the differences of investment, speculation and outright gambling

Potentially at 0 because bitcoin is just an idea with no actual underlying value such as assets, future profits or current dividends. It’s just all hype, a who is the greater fool trading. Bitcoin is not an investment. Some will get rich but most will be left holding the ball with piss running down their trouser legs

New to BTC
I’ve been on here a couple of months and have made several small transactions which all went very easily. I’ve used coinbase to buy BTC and then sent them directly from the coinbase app to the vendor. Is this safe? Or should I be transferring the purchased BTC to a different wallet first before sending to the vendor. I don’t intend to use BTC for anything other than said purchases. Thanks :)

As a noob added 60 USD to CEX.io but now cant pay for 50USD worth of anything as the BTC amount needs to be 0.002 to withdraw, maybe i am missing something here

It’s just another of the ways the exchanges kick us in the butt- minimum transfer amounts AND high fees- making small or even reasonable purchases unviable. Crypto.com has a minimum of 0.004 (!). Moved to Bitpanda but it is still 0.0015

As I understand it, and I'm new to the Bitcoin game too, It's better to transfer your coins to an offline wallet. Thereby keeping it completely safe. I use the Exodus wallet which is very user friendly. I then pay directly from there. The only issue I have had is (unintentionally) not paying the full amount, but this is down to my incompetence. And I'm sorting that I out!

bitcoin simply functions as a cartel, there's rent to be collected when you can corner a good piece of the market and that's exactly what the mining groups do.
use bitcoin and you are a subject of the miners and their self interest. once the market reached trillions in usd it became a billion dollar business just to sit on your ass and play games with capacity. This is the definition of malignant monopoly power.

Capacity limitations are baked into the bitcoin protocol. There have been opportunities to improve capacity but guess who controls the protocols?

This limit to how many btc is done on purpose obviously. And they have done it with certain projections in mind.
So when more than 45% of btc is in the wallets of 1% it starts to become a huge tool for manipulation and surveilance.

Here’s a good way to manipulate the price of btc
Increase miners fees for transactions- micro or otherwise...
Micro transactions slow...
Btc price takes a tumble!
If this isn’t a way to manipulate btc market then what?? Miners rule

The blockchain has lost 1/2 its capacity as “Xinjiang is facing a major power outage due to a coal mine explosion”

Thanks for the link, I saw the record fee spike and thought there must be some issue, it's still climbing vertically. They need to burn more coal! 8-((

No more purchases for me with btc, not until a sensible payment option is available. :((

the pool of waiting transactions is insane

its asking for a £43 transaction fee if i want to send the btc in the 30 min provided by the escrow, ive had to cancel my order

Bitcoin privacy. Can someone recommend a good hot wallet?
I don't want to keep using exchanges to send crypto, due to the crazy fees (and lack of control over them) and also privacy concerns. Can someone recommend a wallet where I can send my crypto to then make private payments.
I've made some effort to find answers here, but I'm struggling to find exactly what I'm looking for.
Many thanks

almost every wallet lets you set the fees, it really depends what your platform requirements and tastes are. i like electrum.

Ive just used coinami for the first time, great to use but sending fee was £10 for a sale that was only £35!!!
Is that normal or not? thanks
Is that normal or not? thanks

When the network is busy the fees can be extremely high. It's worth knowing though that the fee is the same regardless of the amount you send so it really pays to make larger orders. When you have your coins on an exchange you generally have no control over these fees, but in your own wallet you can adjust these fees to an extent

btc is the slowest Blockchain to evolve and if people have an easy way to use a better coin they will.
para-chains make this happen.
para-chains make this happen.

BTC will go down, but only because that's what btc does.. it goes up and it goes down. Ultimately it will continue to grow, 100k, 300k, 1m. It is the OG currency and wildy recognised as the best way to store value

BTC Fees Crazy High?
Wow... The BTC transaction fees have been super high today. Anyone else experience the same thing?

Use "replace by fee" in your wallet and you can set the transaction fee to as low as you want, don't go too low though otherwise no one will bother confirming your transaction.

Am with coincorner shit man they charge to deposit then charge to buy btc then charge to send btc its so embarrassing sometimes when a think a have enough btc to buy then after forgetting about the fee a have to cancel lol

Hi hate Coin Corner its such a rip off. Does anyone know any cheaper options apart from checking for your local dealer instead.

I buy the bitcoin , xfer to anonymous wallet , and pay from there. Fees are normally in pence, but does depend on network traffic.

Same here!! I had 3/4 quid in there already it wouldn't let me use it either ?? I had to top up , still got the 3/4 quid ??

This happened me with Blockchain. I made sure I had enough in my wallet to pay, but when trying to do the transactions it wouldn’t let me saying I needed more money - despite having enough for the payment + sending fees.
Topped up my balance a few quid, paid the transaction and when I checked my wallet after I had around £5 in the wallet. Really frustrating losing unnecessary money to fees!

not only do they have your personal details, they send them out like a receipt to anyone transacting with your wallet. Found that out the hard way. Doxxed by my btc wallet lol

Bitcoin beginner here. So i buy bitcoin from coinbase - they have all my info right i get that. Then i send to my wallet (also a coinbase one). Then i send on from my wallet to another wallet - is my personal info shared in that last stage? Can anyone ever connect that last stage back to me via coinbase?

This is happening to me and its driving me up the wall! How on earth are you supposed to enjoy the gains of BTC when youe wallet/blockchain wont let you spend all funds?? I usually have $10-15 stuck in my wallet and am only able to send it if i hit lowest lowest priority, then it takes a week to move to my other wallet. Not cool

Petite send your funds after midnight , cost 16p to send £150 last night :) :) always quite late in the night :)

I usually buy on here after midnight. I'm not having issues with fees though???? Haha

Cash.app is ~2% ...uses SegWit-Bech32...once to buy and once to send. Transaction was super fast, <1min to confirm at escrow.

If there's more transactions going on, then the fees increase (I think). So, it BC is ona run, lots of people buy and sell and network fees increase.

Yeah pal, they wanted to charge me a £17 fee on my £50 purchase, I couldn’t bring myself to do it !!! Times are hard enough as it is, and then they wanna pull my pants down and rob me. Not sure how things are gonna be from now on though ?

LocalBitcoins I use and I think the transaction fee is always the same bought around 400gbp in bitcoin and paid £1.20 to send over

Pretty sure I’ve just been charged about £16 to send £38 through coin corner feel sick 0.0005 btc didn’t realise the amount at the time.... any tips how I can get my remaining money in there approx £35 out to somewhere cheaper to send from?

Hi green cigar. ..yes i had same problem last night.just wanted to make a small order this time..around £20..and Bittylicious wanted £10 in charges..WTF..cant bring myself to make order now..£30
For a basicallly a sample..seems like im not the only 1..its vendors who will miss out more now..so means no weed for the weekend.but i wont be going ahead with order either way
Its a case of cutting my nose off this time..than pay that f***ing ridiculous amount..jb

I don't send from Coinbase... It's linked to all my personal data. I use a separate wallet. This is where you'll see a hike in fees (from a seperate anonymous wallet).

Cost me over $10 in fees last night to buy something which was $14, so almost doubled the total price I had to pay

Coinbase wallet. Was pretty strange considering that moments before I had done a $30 order and the fee was like $1.70

was trying to get an order in last night but the minimum fee to send any transaction was £7+ and i couldn't bring myself to pay it!
but then i started thinking what if this becomes the new norm, went to pay it and the fees had gone up to £9, so i had to buy more coin to cover the fees whilst paying fees over and over again to coinbase for buying small amounts to try and cover this network fee, this actually kept happening over the space of about 2 hours, in the end lost about £24 to fees just to order something for £96 and the £10 network fee you see at the bottom there, honestly can't even begin to explain how pissed off i am!

Hey Guys
Do your trading late at night , cheaper fess when it's not busy , or certain times in the day .. if you check on your wallet and have btc coin in there it will tell the fees to send , thats when you know its cheaper times ect ..

Had a 19p transaction I made today at 10am. Still pending. Can’t knock Coinbase on this one this is sending eth from Jaxx but either way to be out of funds and 12 hours pending now is fucking bollocks

Christ almighty...I wouldn't have minded I knew it was no relevance to the miners because of the low gas fee, but the fact I couldn't even increase the price manually is pretty shit so once paid up had no control..still a way to go until this is viable across the board. Possibly improvements with ETH 2.0 on the speeds but unless you can affect the reward to the miners you're caught really

I did set it at the lowest priority (issues with balance spending) to move it to another wallet....but a WEEK!

ID yeah but all goes through separate wallet anyway they weren’t the issue was the gas fees on eth, either way bit of a nause

Been there mate ultimately crypto will never replace fiat with these issues. Greet investment especially with recent trends on btc and eth but still too jumpy for these quick transactions. I try and keep a fiver or so buffer and always send over a couple of quid on top but still wide open and will happen again. You could easily stick a tener on top of already inflated product prices which is another factor why buyers are getting fed up

Anyone on here mining
Anyone on here mining
Hi, just wondered if anyone on here mined BTC or any other cryptos, If so what set up are you using, like what GPUS or ASICS and how many and what kind of profit they generate if any. I'm very interested in cryto mining but want to see how profitable it is first. Thanks for any responses

I've seen a lot of people talking about this and sharing their referal links, how does it actually work?

You download app from Google play. Mining sessions are 24 hours, where you need to activate next session to continue mining( click a button). Mining can be upgraded, by different means, e.g. adding friends. Sending your link, and or adding to your network. Node mining can be undertaking on pc as well, just about to launch..

Both Pi and Bee, work exactly the same, looking at GUI and set up, but Bee has higher mining rate currently. Next halving coming soon, so get that sweet honey.

I’d totally recommend https://www.dxpool.com/register/phone?refer=390214 I’ve been mining for ages with them and it’s so straight forward. I’m mining HNS (HandShake), doing pretty well at $6 profit a day per machine. If anyone is looking into mining, I’m setting up a farm here, I can get a new machines direct from the manufacturer and they have a brand new machine out soon, but very limited!

Been thinking about this a lot lately myself bud. Electric is quite high were I am though. Would be keen to mine ETH I think.

Yeah I thought about a ETH GPU set up, but I agree power costs are just too high in the uk, I've been looking into potential solar power with a big battery bank, it would increase set up costs but would be very profitable in the long run

Aw man, I've been doing exactly the same xD. Check out the link i've added, it's the one I'll hopefully get. I've been looking at sheds to house the equipment and make a start.
But yeah man I figured the shed would be freezing cold outside so it would keep the miners cool and I wouldnt have to deal with the noise of them. A pipe dream for me right now one day!
I've lost touch with browsing mining rigs on youtube the tech changes so quickly, i'll look back into them later. Do you have a rough cost on a rig?

That hybrid system looks great, would be perfect for the days where there isn't any sun because its always pretty windy where I live. I stopped watching the YT videos on hardware aswell, I pretty much only check on Whattomine.com, I'm sure you've probably heard of it but if not its such a good tool for working out costs and profits of nearly any rig you could think of. My long term goal is to make a rig worth about 100K which should give me enough money to live off quite comfortably, I expect about 1/3 of the price to be for the Solar panel System. If I had the money right now to buy it all I would probably go for an AMD build using 5700XT's as their a lot cheaper than the NVIDIA equivalent. I think the shed is definitely a good idea, I used to have a small rig in my house and it made a lotttttt of noise and that was with only a few graphics cards.

Didnt know the site, will check that out! thanks man! Hope this works out for you :)

You can mine Pi for free, from your mobile, stage 2 currently, pm for link if you want to get in on the action. Open app and tab a button once a day. Easy Crypto, send to friends to increase mining rate.

Also, can’t recommend KUCoin enough as an exchange, I have set up simple bots to trade and I am up 349% apr and 5% value in a week without having to do anything! PM me, happy to help the community get rich :)

i came across bitcoin in 2010, however didnt look into it, just knew it was "internet money"
then in 2015 i started using it heavily when price was well below 300usd mark
i even got into trading it
so i learnt alot over the years about cryptography, blockchain tech, bitcoins, altcoins and many other facets of this new fintech wave
a very good book i enjoyed on bitcoin is called "The Bitcoin Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich
goes into detail on the involvment of the winklevoss twins within the bitcoin game. if that name rings a bell, those twins too Zuckerberg to court for stealing the facebook idea from them
hope this interests people as much is does to me
i am no way a novice to bitcoin
biggaz feel free to ask any questions or pm me

My friends used to spend btc on items for their game characters on 'Legend of Mir' .... I can specifically remember one friend spending £80 worth of btc on a sword. I dont know how much btc that was, but it was at the birth of btc in 2009. So i always cringe laugh at how much that sword would be worth in today's money hahaha.

Ive been playing an Ethereum based Trading Card game called Sorare since August and thought it might get some interest here. It's a global game with fully licesned clubs like Liverpool, Bayern etc and you buy and sell Blockchain protected cards that you own and can sell on the site and on Opensea.
You then enter the cards into 5 a side free fantasy teams competitions with Ethereum and card prizes.
It's very early adoption phase and I've made 8 ETH since August from 2 Eth I was hodling. I have referral links that get us both a free card ( Could be Neymar worth £2k or a Japanese midfielder worth £20 - totally random). Mbappes unique card sold for $65000 recently. I can help you get started with advice on right players and mistakes I made.. it's got a great community and is just a lot of fun to play. PM me for more details and referral links if you want to know more..

CRYPTO APOCALYPSE
ugh bought btc on localcryptos yesterday via paypal. Paypal put a freeze on my funds for 24 hours after I sent it. In 24 hours the btc I bought basically plummeted in value and now I have to buy a quarter instead of a half :(

Me too man. Lost about £160 in 2 weeks where I have been trying to decide what to buy!! Been going to bed thinking ‘I’ll sleep on it and do a buy tomorrow’, wake up and boom, fucking buy money half gone... been a proper shit couple of weeks... fucking stock market has got near on a oz of my weed money... ha fuckers...

Keep that bitcoin for the future when it rises and buy bitcoin now for purchase. That way what you pay now won’t be over the odds and when the market bounces back after coronavirus dies you should be sweet, maybe better off

I decided to sell a 50g block of 24k gold, made an awesome profit from when I bought in 2012, (bought a few in mind of another global meltdown or apocalypse haha) then reinvested a little back in bitcoin about £800 worth and that’s died now. It will come back around though, if only I held off for a week.

Just new funds in when you make a purchase, that what you have sitting there will go back up after the covid-19 pandemic

BITCOIN Mining profitablity
Hi all I used to do a bit of btc mining sometime ago with an old pc and a couple extra graphics cards, madeareasonable amount doing it just wondered if anyone else still did it and if so is it still profitable? and what set up do you use?

Unfortunately I think the mining ship has sailed , probably much better just buying and holding bitcoin.

It's always profitable just depends on what you have and what you mine for any given coin value.

Ive found the best way is to mine passively using a browser, im on 16TH/s. With two android devices and a pc. Take a look, if you dont want to you dont have to but ive been earning for some time now, with no cost you can make $1-$2 a week, doesnt sound like alot but for absolutely nothing its amazing. You can buy multipliers and things after you have earnt some btc if you want and then you can really start earning.

a billion dollar stash of btc has just moved from it's ancient wallet.

They were just charged 9 quid to transfer a billion. That's mad. I didn't know charges were capped.

Blockchain are trying to charge me £13 to transfer £45 lol....I need to find out where they got it so cheap hahaha

the more fragmented the coins the more processing required. this is the definition of old money. hope some cunt hasn't just stolen it.

something i'm only realising now! with the many payments from LB my transactions when cashing out are massive, costing me 50 quid odd just to move it. And looks like one of the alphabet agencies has seized it :(

Is there anyone else that used silk road back in the day and almost feel sick to the stomach when you see the BTC price? I found an old email I sent to Britcoin (First ever UK bitcoin exchange) telling the owner I just transferred some money over to his account at the end of 2011. I think I paid £8 each bitcoin, I wouldn't think anything of it having 50 BTC in my account. They changed there name to intersago and just fucked off with everyones coins but at the time that was part of the 'industry'

Many, many moons a go when I was a home working web developer I took on a random job for 500bitcoin, they weren't worth anything at the time really they where still brand new, you can probably guess where this is going.... in the end I just kind of forget about them and then my harddrive died and I didn't even think about trying to get them back.
They'd be "worth" about 15mil today lmao, ah well easy come easy go and all that :P
They'd be "worth" about 15mil today lmao, ah well easy come easy go and all that :P

Omfg ZZ,.....That's mental, I love your attitude tho :)
Have you ever heard about that guy who bought a pizza for a million plus bitcoin, like you said they were worth nothing really at the time.....he paid 20+ billion in today's price for a pepperoni pizza....shit man
Have you ever heard about that guy who bought a pizza for a million plus bitcoin, like you said they were worth nothing really at the time.....he paid 20+ billion in today's price for a pepperoni pizza....shit man

lmao that's amazing there's bound to be loads of stories like these out there especially from the early days, you have to laugh about it really or it'd drive you mad haha plus it's all hindsight now innit :)

Yeah there must be loads of stories like that, you're completely right bro it's all hindsight....It would be way worse the other way round, people paying millions for them and they end up worth fuck all lmao

Tech friend I had insisted that I buy at $200. Told him the whole thing was batshit crazy and didn't. I wasn't wrong. I just underestimated the stupidity of man.

Seems to be flying back down today. Lost 25% in one day and still going. You might get to October numbers by the end of the week mate

Minimal transfer amount & hardware wallet (7/01/2021)
The current software wallet I have has a minimal transfer amount of 0.003 btc. Now that btc is this high ( 37k at the moment), it starts to become a real issue. I ordered a hardware wallet but I think (correct me if I am wrong) that I still need some kind of software wallet/app to make payments. What works best with hardware wallets and doesn't has this (high) minimum transfer amount?
Thank you and love you all.

So... My delving into bitcoin has been an immeasurable failure so far. I ended up in etoro? Okay... So that needed me to transfer them to a wallet. Fantastic. Let's do that. No it won't let me. Wait, now I'm confused. Fuck this crap... Sell and withdraw my money and try something else.

BTC at 17K GBP!!
I haven't seen prices like this since 2017. how high will it go?

I made a big order of distillate just before it went up so i'd spent a lot of my btc so I din't make too much either, oh well haha

I've been messing around with crypto about 4 years now. Buy as much BTC as you can and just hold it, dont spend it. Have a working BTC wallet and a savings wallet. If sure does add up especially with big jumps like recently. BTC is only getting started. Its being adopted by US Financial Institutions as a hedge against USD inflation. The price of BTC will probabely double again next year. Some people think it could hit 100k USD.

So I've never used bitcoin before! I setup a wallet and made a payment, waited for it to go through and then checked my bitcoin wallet and it showed the amount I paid for in there. I then proceeded to try and make a transaction but couldn't work out why it said I had no bitcoin to spend, and I was like "wtf why can't I spend this". I didn't realize that you have to wait for the bitcoin to go through another process of bitcoin transaction or whatnot...
I guess I just have to wait a little longer before I can spend the bitcoins..
Hmm so the transaction went through and I've made 2 orders so far, I've tried to put a another order through but for some reason it says I don't have the bit coin for it even though I do. Any ideas why this is happening?

Well it seems its all fixed now, I've placed my orders and now just have to wait.
Sorry about all this I'm new to using bitcoin and was a tad worried about the situation!
Here's a bad joke to make it up.
I told my wife I was going to make a car out of spaghetti, fussili and macaroni, she thought I was joking but she won't when I drive pasta.

You should be able to spend unconfirmed bitcoins, I do it all in the time using electrum wallet, maybe there's an option you need to enable in your wallet.
As for the second part do you have enough BTC to cover the transaction fee as well as the payment? remember you always need a little bit extra :)
Good luck mate

Yeah I made sure that I had enough in my wallet to buy my items and have more than enough to cover any transactions I made. Like I said I new to bitcoin and am most probably just having some teething problems at the moment.

Head shops that accept bitcoin (18/12/2020)
Hi Biggaz,
With Bitcoin going nuts write now, I like to go shopping (besides LB :) with the bitcoins I already had. I was looking for good head shops that accept bit coin. "Everybodydoesit" doesn't do his name justice, because they stopped accepting bitcoin.
So if you know any let me know.
Thanks in advance and have happy holidays.

BTC Legacy Address
I've just been granted a refund through escrow and have been asked for my legacy BTC address. I've done some research, but can only find the regular addresses my wallet gives me to receive BTC. Has anyone encountered this issue? Many thanks in advance.

Are you using coinbase? If so i think coinbase exchange only uses the legacy wallet address (wouldnt use the exchange wallet on these types of websites as iv heard peoples accounts being banned), when in coinbase wallet you can flip between 2, legacy being 1 of them but as for other wallets i do not have a clue sorry

Why BTC when you have STABLECOINS
Why BTC when you have STABLECOINS
I have placed a fair few orders here but never posted before. I love it. However it's just a fact that BTC is expensive to move around and the USD value fluctuates wildly. So why not implement a similar system but with stablecoins? A stablecoin on Ethereum is very cheap to transact with and the USD value is... 1 USD.
These are the main ones:
-Tether (USDT): created by the Bitfinex exchange, there are like 4 billion of these in circulation, but it is backed by dollars held in some dodgy bank in the bahamas (or not!!!). May be one to avoid IMO.
-USD Coin (USDC): similar concept but backed by Coinbase. About 400mil in circulation but way more reputable and cleared with US regulators.
-DAI: backed by ETH held as collateral without a dollar in sight, algorithmically pegged to USD. A remarkably clever system that's the closest thing to a 'true' decentralised stablecoin. If you are a clever clogs you will enjoy reading about this one. About 80 mil in circulation.
It gets better... if you build a system that works with one ERC20 token, it works with all tokens! Merchants can get paid in whichever stablecoin they please.
Thoughts? I appreciate BTC has been around the longest and reliable software is hard to come by...

Coinbase is pretty great in the UK these days. Same day Faster Payments up to 20k, free crypto to crypto trades including DAI and USDC

Sorry biggas ignore me just need to rant about how annoying buying bitcoin is! lol
My new license still hasn't shown up so I still can't buy any more BTC from my usual source (bittylicous) - been trying all night to find another source without ID and they're all full of shit, every single one of them. Loads of places claim to sell without ID but none of them actually will and it's pissed me off how much time I wasted looking and I should have known the outcome!
Thankfully I have plenty of local spots to get my bud from but I really wanted to get some more orders in on here where I can pick my strain and support some great sellers that I've got used to getting lovely little deliveries from! :)
Ah well fuck it, back to waiting for the DVLA... however long that will take lmao
An enterprising bigga with money to spare should set up a btc exchange especially for us littlebiggy members! :P

Why are Decentralized Exchanges Still a Fail?
I don't mean alt coin exchange, I'm talking fiat to BTC.
There are already enough individual traders on centralised p2p like LBC, why don't at least some of them move over?
Or is it not enough buyers?
You could say it's a chicken and egg problem but so was LBC and they got off to a much faster start in a smaller market.

Looks like the whopping great fees that have been in play over the past week have taken a little dip. A good time to send coin! Heads up, people.

Today paid 19p for transaction fee.
The reward: "Pending" for 3 hours as no miner wants to go near it, now ETH has dropped since I made the transfer and can't do fuck all just watch the price I paid drop and drop while waiting for it to go through haha draining.

The Most Important Aspect of Bitcoin Is the Separation of Money and State
"Governments inflict two forms of robbery against nonviolent citizens by forcing them to pay taxes while also stealing from them silently through inflation. "

Ethereum will win the crypto race. It has already really, just people dont quite get that yet.
And yes the seperation is important.
And yes the seperation is important.

As a technology it's winning but with an unlimited number of coins it hasn't been much of a store of value. Bitcoin is a gold standard.

They are pretty good across the board. Live help hand holding and good rates. KYC is about the same as the big exchanges but pretty fast. Operationally this is a shop with its act together.

Yeah ive used paybis numerous times, you do usually get ur money within the 15 - 20 minute time frame

technology or privacy - which made btc so valuable?
now im using it i really like the tech aspect of btc, i like being able to see my transactions on a public record but that's in no way worth the hassle of moving the fiat into btc.
i do that only because i can buy here and that is because we are freed from the banking system.
which one of these factors makes a bitcoin so incredibly valuable?

Hi new on here. I ordered and it says when click on order partially paid what does that means? Thank!

Allrite welcome sometimes it means you may have slightly underpaid, or not paid for postage (if applicable) the provider you’re using for bitcoin they usually charge a fee for the transaction also on coinbase which I use it will say that till the payment has properly gone through, check to see if the funds have been sent via your bitcoin provider, double check the amount if all seems well, contact vendor ask them how much they have received.
Cheers

If you had to invest in an ICO which coin would you choose?
I do a little alt coin trading on Binance but more so short holds for some small but quick proffits then put it back into BTC or ETH depending which is on the rise. Just play around with trading when my stock friends give me a heads up that something is going to break out into a bull run or if I am checking out the market and see one that looks promissing and on the rise.

There are a few good altcoins that I can get behind. They have a good purpose or at least intend to when they catch on or when the time comes. However the volatility is horrible. They are good for doing some swing trading when you can spot one that is going to take off but lack stability. But then at the time of this post so do BTC and the other big coins.

Coinbase no longer takes cards. I can't say I'm going to miss them except I'm not sure where to go?

Use a bank account instead of a card, your options go from shit to shinola. You can even use your coinbase account, basically every exchange loves it.

Bought up 1100 in BTC just two days ago with a card. Have to go theough different verification steps and gain a little trust first.

One of the better guides I have seen.

Very outdated guide, Coinmama does not let you remain unverified, Shapeshift has implemented KYC too. Here's a more up-to-date howto

I just checked... it sucks. If l paid $195 l would get $47 worth of Bitcoin. That's bullshit. I think you should try to find someone else to buy from. As much as l hate coinbase, they still have one of the lowest rates, 3.99%. It's a pain in the ass to sign up with them, but it still beats the crap out of Paxful. Happy hunting my friend.

When you get to the buy page on little biggy there is a list of suggestions for people who dont have coins.

You can use a ton of different sites to buy btc. I personally recommend localbitcoins.com; changelly.com is a good one too. local will give you a variety of payment methods; all btc are locked in escrow and I haven't had an issue buying from anyone there yet.

That depends on how you pay for it. If you use PayPal or CC the rates will be a lot higher than using your bank account or cash.

What's the best way to lose bitcoins?
Ha this is actually a real good question I lost 500 bucks worth when I lost my password!

The "best" way (from my POV) for you to "lose" btc is for you to send them to me here --- 1EVpX3nEJ83q7LkaGaYffECrBrTjVXFwkt
The "worst" way to "lose" your btc is for you to either forget your priv key/password and/or for you to publish your wallet info online.
Either scenario is the same; you don't have those btc anymore. But, tbh; I prefer choice 1...

I was going to say buying them. I've lost plenty just by buying them. Don't wait to use them. You can lose a mint waiting. They even skim them from your USD wallet, not a lot but l thought it wasn't possible. I'm talking about Coinbase. I haven't tried other sellers because most don't do business in Georgia and the ones who do charge about 50% for every Bitcoin dollar you buy. Hopefully, this website will start accepting bch. From what l hear it has almost no fees when you buy it and send it and it's easier to use than btc.

Anyone interested in using btc cash or ether here?
I am thinking about writing a payment processor that uses one or both of these...

Always interested in using bch and eth; in fact, I get paid in eth; so, I'm VERY interested.

Definitely interested,as bitcoin transaction fees are through the roof right now,I've paid as much as €20 to miners to confirm transactions recently, maybe Litecoin would be another option to consider too, virtually zero transaction fees and extremely fast turnaround times.

Coinbase charged me $31 to send $7. Of course l didn't find that out until after l had tried to send $38, expecting to charged 3.5%. I tried to get a response from them but to no one's surprise, they ignored me. They should be grateful they're located on the left coast and I'm on the east coast. This definitely qualifies as reason to make a personal appearance. Fucking leeches! Before anyone makes a suggestion about trying someone else out, there is no one else that does business in Georgia, at least no one who charges less than 50%. ATMs are also out of the question. The closest one is 150 miles away in Florida.

What if governments require registration of cryptocurrencies?
There are many solutions the easiest of which is an upgrade to the source code of the currency, just like security updates for any software. Cryptocurrencies can evolve around these kind of problems, especially when they are open source with large communities.

Then they are going to be highly upset/disappointed... After all; that is the POINT of DECENTRALIZED CURRENCY; we are taking OUR money back from the banks/governments.

What is bitcoin cash?
0
On 1 August 2017 a parallel universe was born out of a singularity. We call this a fork. Everything was identical for 1 moment but then the 2 branches: bitcoin (btc) and the new bitcoin cash (bcc) became different currencies with different futures.

Another analogy is its a clone of bitcoin, and everyone with a wallet on Aug 1 gets a free clone. After that new coins are mined separately on bitcoin and bitcoin cash, it's former clone.

It's noteworthy that it had a market cap in the billions from launch. You could call it hype cycling but when you realize what it is: a clone of a proven currency with an agenda to lower fees and serve everyday users then it's not so hard to understand.

A bitcoin wallet on a smartphone (like mycellium) is optimal but not required.
Go to the atm, enter your phone number, it sends a confirmation code then you're in. Then it asks for a btc address to send the coins to. Mycellium and most other wallets generate a qr code that you can scan in the atm. The recieving address should then be entered automtically into the atm there are just too many digits to fuck around.
Now you can insert the money and watch it send to your wallet right away.

It's not over the top to be aware of this and make informed decisions. Unless you are paying with cash (or cryptocurrency) anything you buy is traceable and that includes bitcoins. But remember what you do with the bitcoins need not be traceable.

What's going wrong?
Just did a transaction via coinbase which came up as 'pending' and didn't go through. Now the order has timed out and I have to wait for my funds to be returned before trying to place the order again. How can I avoid the same happening again?

Ok it's now cleared (about an hour after I paid) and the order has reappeared and showing as paid.
So I'm relieved, is this normal though for btc transactions? I read its normally about 10mins,and transaxe does ask you to pay within 30min so I'm surprised it has gone through?
So I'm relieved, is this normal though for btc transactions? I read its normally about 10mins,and transaxe does ask you to pay within 30min so I'm surprised it has gone through?

The public bitcoin network had a backlog of transactions yesterday. This slowed things but it also shows how it's impossible to lose your money with bitcoin and the records are all there and accessible to anyone while it is happening. Compare this to the old financial system where you're lucky if even 1 party can see what is going on while the other deals with a clerk over the phone.
