Do you not remember the carnage that was happening with degenerates using credit cards to long/short the market? I'm all for bankless nation but without doubt some regulations have been a saving grace. Regardless we will all be on China's currency soon.

Can anyone help, with bitcoin.
I simply cannot buy any bitcoin any more, my passport is now out of date. Now Kraken who I've used with no problems now wants to do another KYC which I've explained to them my passport has run out and I don't drive so I'm basically stuck now.
Is any trusted person on here who could help me out if I transferred you the money? Or any vendors willing to do a different one of payment? Any help would be appreciated, with Christmas round the corner I'm starting to panic.

Banks and BTC
I hate these fucking banks that block payments to crypto sites because there 'protecting your money' but will do fuck all if your loading up a poker or casino account. Why don't they just admit it and say there shit scared of the crypto world, the same cunting banks us tax payers bailed out 13 years ago.

Just a reminder due to the intervention of āprove-itā Borg the result of todays draw will be decided by the score of the first batsman dismissed in the West Indies v England cricket match starting at 13:30 GMT.

If you have a Provisonal Driving License - blockchain andriod app accepts that. Dont think it specified that they accept provisional but it went through. Once done though it says you gotta wait 14 days before being able to send bitcoin however i got email confirmation that I was good to go in 4 days. Also - ive said this elsewhere but the Freewallet app let me do 2 transactions/sends before saying I needed to upload ID - their fees are high though. Good luck!

BTC or Tesla

Okay, so hypothetically (or in reality) you have $10k-which one would you choose, btc or tesla and why- or neither??

BTC, I'd personally invest in. When the big banks are whispering about buying them and a lot of hedge fund managers are advising there clients to buy them. JP Morgan the big American bank actually said this week that bitcoin should be worth £146k. Also there's roughly only 2 million bitcoin left to mine and then that's it, unlike the bank of England which prints money off when there's a big economic crash and have no clue how much money is out there.
And the coincidence of saying about Tesla is if Elon Musk was to buy any the bitcoin experts reckon that they would literally go up 25% within minutes, there's a interesting youtube video of him having a interview and he mentions how interesting bitcoin was and that's coming from the man who invented PayPal and now the richest man in the world. Apart from a few dips and 10-15% 'crashes' because of the Volatility of the currency long term I think it's only going up

A very interesting perspective. I must say that I tend to agree, if I already had $10k in tesla I would hold as I think the double digit growth stage is over for now and may be due a correction but mid to long term prospects look good for steady growth.
BTC on the other hand is really interesting as like you say there is a finite amount so if demand were to soar the value would soar too as governments couldn't just print more! I'm not sure if it will become a true currency or just carry on being traded as a commodity like gold but if the likes of amazon etc do start using BTC then who knows where the price could be in a few years.
So for me, I would be going with BTC also.
Interestingly, I heard someone say that BTC is the biggest Ponzi scheme ever- the new investor buying high is basically feeding the profits of those exiting at the top who invested early.

I WOULD DO 5K IN BOTH PERSONALLY. DIVERSIFICATION FTW!
ALSO BTC CANNOT BE A PONZI BECAUSE THERE IS NO HEAD. PONZI'S ARE INHERENTLY CENTRALIZED SO ANYONE SAYING IT IS A PONZI DOESN'T HAVE KNOW WHAT THEY'RE ON ABOUT!

Agreed it can't be an actual Ponzi scheme, because that works by promising investors a regular return, that is paid out of the capital put in by new recruits. Until eventually it collapses.
But crypto currencies can give you a similar outcome. The founders mine the first coins and keep hold of a large balance, then encourage interest until the value rises and they cash in. I expect most of the newer altcoins are based on this kind of hope. It's more like a "pump and dump".

Bitcoin price
Is there anyone else that used silk road back in the day and almost feel sick to the stomach when you see the BTC price? I found an old email I sent to Britcoin (First ever UK bitcoin exchange) telling the owner I just transferred some money over to his account at the end of 2011. I think I paid £8 each bitcoin, I wouldn't think anything of it having 50 BTC in my account. They changed there name to intersago and just fucked off with everyones coins but at the time that was part of the 'industry'

Many, many moons a go when I was a home working web developer I took on a random job for 500bitcoin, they weren't worth anything at the time really they where still brand new, you can probably guess where this is going.... in the end I just kind of forget about them and then my harddrive died and I didn't even think about trying to get them back.
They'd be "worth" about 15mil today lmao, ah well easy come easy go and all that :P

Omfg ZZ,.....That's mental, I love your attitude tho :)
Have you ever heard about that guy who bought a pizza for a million plus bitcoin, like you said they were worth nothing really at the time.....he paid 20+ billion in today's price for a pepperoni pizza....shit man

lmao that's amazing there's bound to be loads of stories like these out there especially from the early days, you have to laugh about it really or it'd drive you mad haha plus it's all hindsight now innit :)

Yeah there must be loads of stories like that, you're completely right bro it's all hindsight....It would be way worse the other way round, people paying millions for them and they end up worth fuck all lmao

Tech friend I had insisted that I buy at $200. Told him the whole thing was batshit crazy and didn't. I wasn't wrong. I just underestimated the stupidity of man.

Seems to be flying back down today. Lost 25% in one day and still going. You might get to October numbers by the end of the week mate

Massive fees sending on bit panda... Help!
I just hit 'buy' on an item on here that should come to about $75, but then I go to send the money, bitpanda is saying the fee to send is $19.... What the fuck! Is anyone else having this issue and what should I do? I'm not paying 25% of the amount I'm trying to send just as a fee for fucks sake haha... Is this temporary?!

Mate I can completely relate to you, a few weeks back I used localcryptos I had enough to get a g off a vendor here and they charged me £4 to send £11 when I msgd them about they ignored me....so I put it on my tweeter feed with a screenshot of the charge and tagged them, they responded within minutes (they must of noticed I've got 20k followers lol) told me it's fees for the mining network...blah blah. I use localbitcoin now. Cost me 0.93p to send £100 to my wallet on my phone from them yesterday. Like some have said in this thread buddy get yourself a wallet.

I sent £70 with bitpanda last week and was charged £1. Identical transaction this week and charged £11. Infuriating to say the least. I'm also looking for alternatives but don't really know what to look for

Yeah it's insane right... Why would the fees even change?! I feel like I'm always being fucked around by this thing... Literally about half the times I try to send money the fees are higher than expected so I have to deposit again, and minimum is 25 dollars which is also fucking lame. Pretty much over it now!

Been using bitpanda for a bit and they do seem pricey, get a bitcoin wallet installed on your computer i.e. electrum and send from there instead. Usually only use bitpanda to exchange now because of the fees, haven't been too bothered to look at other bitcoin exchanges yet but try a UK based one? Or look into their best offers for trading (takes some money off fees but I can't remember the catch atm)

Hi, I was just looking into electrum but I'm a bit new to this - seems like I'd still have to withdraw the bitcoin from my bitpanda bitcoin wallet in order to get it to my electrum wallet so I wouldn't escape the fees - am I missing something there? Sorry I'm very new to crypto still haha!

Electrum took me a few weeks to get my head around but it was worth it in the long run. My theory was if I exchange more in one go and keep it stashed away I'm only paying exorbitant fees on occaision. On electrum there's a sliding scale for fees which I always have on the lowest, last time I bought something I paid less than 2% fees for a transaction and it only took about 8 mins to confirm.

Don't use bitpanda !
If you dyor first , you would find that Binance, Coinbase , Kraken, Bitstamp and Bittrex are the way to go.
Also downloading exodus or atomic wallet on desktop, so you can send purchased BTC from exchange to there first and than make a payment from your own wallet.
By sending from wallet you can set up network fee from few cents to 20 or more dollars , depends how quick you want to transaction to go.
I normally set it around 1dollar.
Don't be a fool !

Every single fucking one.
E.g. Coinbase had it's own android wallet app along the original app,
Piss easy to use.
Binance has lot of advanced features for traders so could be confusing for newbies.
