I'm a fan of orange strains. Mimosa is the go to but I've had an orangina that for me has more dank orange flavour and more of a creeper of a buzz. Diesel strains are also nice. Rs11 is super fruity. One of the nicest bits I've ever had was a blue nerdz. Skywalker and og crosses tend to work well. I've no idea what any of them are like to grow. The strength and flavour of the haze you have is good. Apply that to a more desirable strain and I'm sure you'll make a splash.

It's orange and diesel so sounds like a winner to me. I don't know how representative I am of the biggas on here though. I've found relatively few orange strains on here yet a lot of people seem to love those strains. Whether it's better to do what everyone does or to carve out your own corner as a vendor I've no idea. So I'd hate to steer you guys in the wrong direction due to my own personal preferences.

Really didn’t want to be the person to make one of these posts on someone’s page but feel like I need to warn any other potential buyers, STAY CLEAR.

Placed an order for an oz on March 21st (2 weeks today), I realise that it was pretty naïve on my part going straight in with an order that size with a seller with so little reputation. I’ve still not received anything as yet.

To top off comms have been poor throughout, pretty much 2 days to get any sort of response and the last one took 5days, which was me basically asking do you have any more info otherwise I’m going to dispute the purchase. The message received today offered a 50% reship of a different product that won’t be ready for another 2 weeks (expiring the dispute deadline). They did express concern for a dispute not being good for MY reputation so there’s that.

Advice to any new buyers on this site, go have a good read through some posts by PollyPuff & TheDazzler, they always have really fair and balanced advice, key takeaway is comms or lack of tells you a lot about a seller.

Hi, I loved the tropical haze freebie if you keep getting bud of that quality I will definitely be stopping by. Variety wise I love all kush and orange strains.I
I have been loving all the giveaways and competitions going on recently so thanks for yours.
As an endurer of monthly salary I have evolved my shopping style to being one big monthly splurge almost immediately after payday this saves me on fees but I have to order sensibly to cover a month. I think a lot of other people are in a similar position. If you were to do a promo, advertised around the 23rd of the month to run last few days of the month, say a £100-150 box with a decent assortment or a couple of different options and entry to an exclusive prize draw I think you could pick up a chunk of quite a few biggas paychecks and mine would probably be one.

10/10 free tropical haze sample, beautiful smell nice bud structure and a really clean hazy flavoured smoke. Two hours later and I have still got the fog from it but haven't been wiped out just a nice sustained buzz. Really good daytime smoke but packs enough of a punch for a night time too.

Received free sample of the Tropical Haze. Nice to get a bit of haze that's not shit. The market was damaged years ago with that overproduction of rush job amnesia etc.
The smell and flavour etc took me back to a time of how a haze of any type should be.

Hey Biggas. A lot of us share the weed we love on this site so I thought it might be interesting to mix things up and see which strains don't do it for you.

I'll kick things off with Runtz. I like Zkittles and I like Gelato, but for some reason I have never really enjoyed Runtz. I think it's a combination of two good strains that somehow produced a worse one. Just my opinion of course, interested to hear what the rest of you think.

So glad I’m not alone in hating mimosa terps. The first time I smelled/tasted it, I genuinely thought the weed was bogus. Like it had been artificially flavoured with something nasty. Then when I got good mimosa it was the exact same terps. Not for me like.

I’d say Stardawg too, just because it was fuckin everywhere and was normally sub par.

I like Mimosa for the effect and I don't mind the taste. I am not keen on some of the other strains that taste similar like Tangerine Dream so I can see where you're coming from. Citrus strains can be hit and miss on the terps front.

Stuff gives me the shakes and heart palpitations. Had it from different growers at different times, it just disagrees with me.
The Brazilian sativa element is too racy and the Indian indica just melts you. It’s always an intense Indica v Sativa battle.
Usually with hybrids I get the sativa effect then it chills into indica but white widow pummels me with both from the get go and leaves me meditating to the ganja gods with tai chi breathing to alleviate me from the poisonous kiss of White Widow.

For me it’s gotta be Rainbow Belts. Not a fan of it’s clove-y taste and I find the buzz to be muddled and racy. Just don’t like it at all.

Number one: stardawg. And all the crosses. People seem to love it, I don't.
Number two: Gorilla glue. It's strong, yeah, but seemingly at the expense of everything else. I've had nice glue crosses though.
Number three: lemon haze. This one's slightly unfair but for ages it's all anyone grew around here so I just don't care if I never see another bag of lemon in my life.
The other one worthy of note is the thin mint. I don't know what they were thinking there.

Anyway, that's me. Other people are different.

Gorilla Glue is like Russian roulette with 5 Chambers loaded.
At it's best, it is hard to better. I have had some good tasting examples but they are becoming rarer.
The genetics are laden with problems so it is difficult to get the correct pheno from seed. But if you have the correct clone (as is the case with chemdawg) and it is grown and cured adequately, it is a very nice smoke imo.

I'm unlikely to test the theory any further by buying more when there's a myriad of sweeter options at LB that are more up my street. The world would of course be boring if we were all the same.

In the 3 years I've used this site it's been great at times but these fees and being restricted to brc only is insane. There's been constant talks about other payments methods.. but ofc they've yet to show up. Any talk of other sites with better payment methods gets you blacklisted, can't message privately about them either without it being flagged. Agree with everything you've been saying mate and it's a shame though because like you I want this place to carry on and be a success and I definitely don't want biggas leaving (and wont be helping with that!) but what choice do any of us have at the moment? Not even just us buyers but the sellers and even the middle men of LB and transaxe everyone is being milked by the greed/fees and the whole thing will eventually crash again, and again, and again.

I think last time this came up it was kinda confirmed that transaxe will only work with BTC which is an issue for LB ok fair enough but 4 years is an insanely long time to keep saying its being worked on (with no offence to anyone who might be working on it).

Sounds like the same boat for the last while. It's not that we won't buy it's we cant because anything in our budget gets pushed out. So the quality drops.

On the whole LB has been a really good place for me and helped a lot.

Publicly saying where else to go is counter productive to the issue and feels a bit like sticking the knife in. We need to do what we can to make sure this place continues not dies on it's arse.

We would love it if they just addressed the issue so customers did not have to go elsewhere.

For me it has to be some Bruce Banner #3 from 1e hulp in the dam all the way back in 2017. I've never been able to recapture that one. It was a skunky, kind of gassy & fruity type all rolled into one with such a unique flavour profile to finish. The high was second to none. Wiped me right out. Left me looking at the world with my eyes so bulged they were basically closed. They say you'll never recapture that first high, this one took me above and beyond.

got an oz like that in the late 90's, had the potent lavender smell and taste. think it was a bit on the indica pheno side. very dark purple and when you snapped the buds in half the core was almost black. amazing bag appeal. really strong and tasty stuff too

It's a toss up between bubba kush and amnesia haze for me. Had some bubba for the first time a few months back and it was a gorgeous body high. Delicious body rushes from it. Bought some again recently but doesn't have the same quality of effects unfortunately. Maybe because of different phenotypes 🤷🏻‍♂️.
Amnesia haze almost always gets me to a place of euphoria that's unmatched by other strains. Would love to find a strain that's more euphoric but out of the roughly 20 strains I've tried so far nothing has been more uplifting than ami.

Hello guys just thought I would post a topic , I did warn thai-lands I would be doing this .. 5 weeks ago now I placed a 1000$ order, he didn't send it till almost a week later at which point I was given a tracking number 1/3 .. I requested the other tracking number which was eventually given 2 weeks later , 8 times I asked for the third tracking number and was ignored , and have been ignored ever since .

No parcels arrived

TRANSACTION FULLY DISPUTED NOW and I ask anyone else with any issues to dispute there orders with this vendor if they have had any issues.

This is the only seller I have had to ever dispute against , a little message from Thai out of respect would of been appreciated but no .. didn't get any of that .

I hope anyone else with issues has disputed there order and given his extremly high dispute rating they will get there funds back .

We all due respect, I have to disagree with your comments as I've just had a successful landing of my order from Thai-Lands. 2 zips as it turns out of lovely weed, without even mentioning the price. It did take 18 days, but not once did I hassle the vendor as I was confident it had been sent based on the reviews.

Everyone complaining should obviously be aware the shipping is from Thailand with customs involved and not just a simple NDD from RM.

Just my thoughts as I managed to get a successful touchdown and I'm hopeful you might still be surprised and it'll turn up.

If not I suspect customs are to blame rather than the vendor.

Strangely today I got a letter from Border Force saying they had intercepted a package with over 50g of drugs in it from Thailand. Recently got my Mimosa Evo from Keep It Green (after a 17 day delivery wait time 😅).

This weed is lovely, coated all over in trichomes, nice and sticky and has beautiful aroma and taste. It’s not a heavy stone effect it has a nice uplifting high. $95 for 7g so right in your budget!

So the exchange Kraken have set bitcoin withdrawal fees, usually this is not a good thing however...

In the current climate the 0.0002 BTC rate they charge (around $13) might be significantly lower than what you are quoted elsewhere.

Now obviously $13 is still not great but it is a lot better than the hundreds of dollars I have seen some Biggaz be quoted over the last few days.

It's also worth noting the minimum withdrawal on Kraken is 0.0004 BTC (around $26) and if you are a new customer you have to wait 24 hours before your first withdrawal.

Also I have never had an issue sending directly from Kraken to LB.

This only applies to your first purchase though, after that there is no wait.

Totally agree Budzinho, I've noticed Kraken seems to be the only one that has manageable fees... I say *managable*, and not acceptable... because it's still high IMO, but it's still somewhat tolerable to pay a 10er for a transaction.

It's also worth noting people that when you add cash to Kraken, it takes 3 days to be withdrawable as BTC. So that's something to consider if you're trying to buy product with new funds!

Too right: I can't believe some of the prices & times I see people mentioning on here!

Obviously a fixed fee becomes better value, the bigger your transaction; but either way, at least you have certainty on the cost and aren't left swinging in the breeze, not knowing whether you fucked-up or the transaction is just in the queue.

Speaking of saving $, I've now made 7 buys using Kraken and paying Transaxe direct (ie no wallet). Now this is over about 6 months, so I'm not a "frequent flyer", but I haven't been tagged yet.

Having said that, I recently read on here that someone did, so "buyer beware".

Yeah absolutely buddy, fixed fees in normal conditions aren't a particularly good thing but right now they're a blessing.

The worst case is Kraken closing your account and you are forced to use another exchange which isn't bad risk/reward, in my opinion anyway.

Sending to an external wallet first right now is essentially not viable.

You aren't actually paying the Network Fee yourself, you are just paying Kraken's withdrawal fee

They send with the fee needed to be included on the next block, so yeah it will confirm, they often change their withdrawal fee to match current network fees

Yes you can put as many different items in your cart as you like.
When you send the bitcoin they split it and send it to the correct vendor for you.

Is it a wallet with lots of small amounts in it? These cost significantly more to send, and that will be multiplied by the current enormous fees too. It cost me $33 to send $70 at a rate of 24sat/vB last week using a wallet with loads of small payments in it, and the gas fees are currently 5x that rate.

Full disclosure:
I was sent this as a free sample following a chat on LB. However please don't doubt my credibility reviewing it. I'd likely not have reviewed it at all if it was terrible. I certainly wouldn't ever recommend something to other biggas that I didn't believe in. But equally I wouldn't go in hard against a vendor who sent me something to try.

About me:
Long time smoker, mostly spiffs but also vape & make my own edibles. I favour orange or fruity strains and generally prefer a couch locker to a heady one. I'm also a big fan of extracts. This is my first review here.

The vendor:
The vendor is reactive to messages, seems a decent sort, the parcel was bang on point for stealth and the only negative I'd say was that it was squidged from the vacuum packing. I've never bought from them so can't comment on that. I would buy from them though based on service.

The product:
The buds look hand trimmed and were mixed in sizes so I'm guessing a more old school grow than some of the modern mass machined commercial looking stuff you get. The smell is super strong and immediately stunk out my kitchen the second I cut open the vacuum pack. I've opened lots of bags and this one was notably pungent which is generally a good sign.

Now, this is a haze. Probably everyone reading this has already sampled some sort of haze and formed an opinion of it. I know I was curious as to how it'd be like. Personally I've not had an issue with hazes in the past but I know some people can have unsettling or flighty feelings from hazes as it tends to be more head buzzy.

So what is this one like? Please read on. I'm sampling and writing at the same time.

It's, erm, very hazy. Yes, I was hoping for a better description than that too. Gimme a min... If you think Lemon Haze you'd be wrong - thankfully - however it's a flavour at that end of the spectrum. Not at the silver end. (Does the haze flavour spectrum run from silver to lemon?) It's more complex than the old lemon and is more citrusy and grapefruity - more like a tropical fruit drink where you can't quite place the dominant fruit. I guess this is well named based on flavour. As I've smoked more there is a slight musky back note to the flavour but I'm still pretty sure we're at the lemon end of the spectrum. We're more lemonade on a summer day than the musky lynx Africa notes of a silver (which I actually like and have explained terribly).

The effects are more cerebral and energising than couch locking as you'd expect from a haze. Whether that floats your boat or not is personal taste. It does creep up quite a bit but not like my favoured orange bud strains that kick your arse fifteen mins after you smoke it. It definitely does have an after hit though it's more heady than a body blow.

Overall:
So overall it's a pretty pleasing, decently strong haze and whether you love it or not will likely come down to your feelings about the strain itself. If haze's leave you trembling in a paranoid corner hoping no one will talk to you then this isn't going to be for you. If, like me, they don't, you'll likely enjoy it just as I am right now.

It's probably also worth noting it's priced very cheaply (at time of writing) and at the price point I've personally bought much worse bits on lb with much fancier names and genetics.

Verdict:
If you like haze, give it a bash. If you don't like haze, steer clear. It's a pretty strong haze and unlikely to mend any issues you might have with the strain. Probably could have just written that as the whole review. I like to waffle though while blasting a smoke. Have fun LB folk. See you next time. Thanks for reading.

Silver would be my favourite hazy variant when it's done to be a full sweet musk but I rarely seek out hazes. I don't think anyone who bought this expecting a tropical tasting haze would be too far disappointed by what they got. It's very much what it says it is.

Although I've seen this all before. An old vendor Super Hans tried extremely hard to get Litecoin/Monero etc introduced a couple of years ago. Had the backing of all the vendors and biggas alike and it never happened.

It does seem like jackwright might be making some headway, but many of us that have been on here a while won't be holding our breath.

I for one love this site but it’s becoming harder and harder to utilise the brilliant products on here and community due to bitcoins instability and proven track history of being unreliable on this site.

About a year on from starting that. We are looking at then maybe considering how to approach adding a new payment system into Transaxe. Which has obviously been only set up. From literally the ground up. To support Bitcoin.

Not many of us left who even understand those processes. Those approaches.

But this is where it is.

If they open-sourced the fucking code it’d be fixed in 2 weeks.

It baffles me that there's an escrow service presumably raking it in but something as simple as a password change on transaxe takes a week. I feel like it's one person working part time so that being said there is no chance of more currencies being added.

Its a shame because I can only see bitcoin getting worse for fees and like others have said leaves LB exposed to competition.

Transaxe have been good at times, such as taking the hit in the high fees back in May (not sure if they have during this November spike).

I just hope we get to use monero and eth soon.

I have a post up looking for a dev in this matter. It's been up months with no replies. I spoke to admin, I have the requirements they say is needed before testing. The Admin are more than happy for alternatives if they can be proven. Anyone know how to write smart contracts in solidity with immutable logic?
I would try using wrapped trx stablecoin. It's shielded, so private, and most of all stable.
If you have the skills to do this I can help fund the project.

22 pounds for a 200 pound transaction. That’s where I draw a line with this. Love this site and the vendors but there really should be an alternative token not just because of this. Had one crypto/bank account shut down due to bitcoin issues also.

I probably make at least two transactions per week here but I won’t be with these fees. Maybe once a month. Hopefully a resolution which suits both sellers and buyers can be found. This really should be a priority considering how it could adversely affect sales.

Currently my $$$ is going to be going elsewhere until fees make lb viable for me again. I'm a wee bit sad about that as I've been liking the site. I expect both customers & vendors will give up in the interim & find / use other markets or locals. I think you have failed to see what it is people want here, I’ve read down your comments, it’s not about the removal of BTC at all it’s about alternative.

Which turns out has been in the pipeline for a while just not picked up, I’ve seen blockhead is looking at running USDT alongside as an alternative.

I would prefer to pay in bit coin but at times like this I would also like to save what money I have and use a cheaper coin to allow for a more accessibility when it comes to payment and not just one.

For example, I normally buy your hashes which are banging and at a great price, so when I would finish ordering what i would normally order I would treat myself to one of your hashes. I haven’t been able to do that as the fee is replacing the price of the hash, neither of us gain anything apart from bitcoin.

The issue is biggas fail to mention btc went up by 24.8% in the last 30 days .. and of course day traders are trading the shit out of btc hence the high fees/ delays and etc..

You inconsistent biggas only complain when btc fees are high but are all quite when fees are cheap and normal..

it's not about jumping ship at all it's about having other options so we can continue to use this market when BTC fees render this market useless which has been over a week now, i can list off about 10 vendors that want other options like LTC or monero, if we were using LTC i would have about £500 a year extra to spend on here that isn't lost in BTC fees!

and a simple solution to your problem would just be to put in your manifesto that you only accept BTC no other coins, all orders in other currencies will be cancelled

we can't expect BTC to get more stable in the future, i can only see more frequent pumping and pisstake fees at this point amongst a few weeks of "Stability" here and there where the fees are still an absolute pisstake tbh

The thing is you can receive your funds in an alternative coin with low fees and faster transactions for the buyer, then swap it into BTC if you wanted BTC.

Hypothetical. You get £150 worth of ETH for the order and the buyer has only paid £152 total to pay and transfer funds for the order. Once funds are released to you , you can swap the £150 worth of ETH into BTC if you don't want it in ETH

If they paid using BTC that £150 order would cost them £180 , but you will still only get the £150 worth of BTC in the end. It costs the buyer an extra £30 just for using BTC. Not only is this not sustainable for the buyer but it's also not good for your business as it puts people off buying when fees are this high.

Almost all crypto apps have swapping features built in, it takes seconds to swap thousands of dollars , you literally input the amount and click swap. It would take less time than the message you just typed out, yet saves your customers huge amounts on fees.

The few seconds it takes you to do the swap would be far outweighed by the increase In orders you would receive , and money you would make, if an alternative coin was accepted on here.

An increase in orders for ever hopefully, fees are higher than other coins even when they are normal.

It's not like it's a one off, this happens every few months with bitcoin and roughly once per year to the current extent. When fees are normal they are still higher on BTC compared to others. If bitcoin continues to increase like people speculate it will, then worse is yet to come for fees.

You can simply swap your coin to BTC, but having alternatives with lower fees cant be a bad thing. Maybe even an option for the seller to choose what coins they accept. No one is saying get rid of btc, but having alternatives can't be a bad thing.

Sadly this sounds like blatant theft, it would have been better if it just came ripped open inside a sorry bag as it could of been done in MC or DO.. those thieves dont bother taping it back up for delivery. But the fact its re-sealed with labels shows a good sign of it being the postman, at the start of every shift they have to print off labels for customers who use the "bring me my label" option on RM, they all have postage labels in the van.

I had a new postman a few months ago and noticed some mailbags coming with holes in then a "we missed you" sticker put back over the hole to hide it. I think he was peeking to see if i was ordering weed, i tipped him £20 and had no issues since.

Just thought I'd give a shout out to some of the great services I've used here since I imagine everyone is sweating about gas fees and is waiting to pull the trigger on their orders / business / existence.

I joined LB quite recently so I'm still getting comfortable with everything. I hope it's okay to post this here. I've been amazed by some of the products I've bought and some of the service I've received.

First mention, The Green Team. TGT. What a great service. They reward loyalty, are bang on comms, and generally a pleasure to deal with. They've sent me a couple of freebies now.

Next, Keep it Green. KIG. What a nice chap and fellow orange enthusiast. Sent me a sampler with my order following a conversation about orange flavours. Hard to fault that. Brilliant.

Shroom of the loom. SOTL. These are new to me but I'm having a sample sent out, mostly out of sympathy, I guess, as I do so poorly with competitions. I'll be back to order there.

The spacemen, TSM, are worth a mention. Some super cheap bits that are great. I had a citronella that was a lovely orange flavour. Green Cat, GC, are probably also worth mentioning as a vendor that have had some great value (and generously weighed) bits.

So far the two nicest extracts I've had have both been from Gassed. G. (Do they still get an initial?)

The great vape company, TGVC, were exceedingly patient with my various issues with my new vape (not their fault) so are worth noting great customer service.

The super cheap bits I've had that were worth smoking were from the pontiff of piff POPE and from Radar Breeder. RB.

After pay day (desperately waiting) I'm looking forward to trying some of the Barz hash. I'm fascinated by how well it looks like they've made it. I've not ordered from Eddy's Hash bar, EHB yet either which I should probably correct. Will likely also aim for a mix of bargain buds & mids, some extracts, and some more distillate to make my own edibles - assuming of course it's viable to move coin by then.

So if you're still reading this - well done - and if you've got any great vendors to share let me know. I suspect orders are down and they would probably like to hear that what they do is appreciated by all us Biggie Folk. BF.

You are in for a treat with the Barz LA stuff. The Green is some of the best 'normal' hash I've ever smoked. The Red is crazy, and barely recognisable as hash. The Purple is a whole different level. I'm being strong-armed to buy an Ace Cup to smoke it in, and I'll probably cave in soon...

I did approach LB with all the restraint of a child in a sweet shop yes. I used to be able to pick decent bits up but for last few months it'd been lemon / dawg / ammie with the odd bonus of Skywalker. So suddenly being able to get everything was pretty overwhelming. A lot of hard choices were made on selections man as I wanted everything.

I've made bubble before. In fact the best bubble I've had, I made. I'd not have to go too far on here for that not to be true anymore. But the barz stuff looks a different level. They must have been putting thought and care into that before a plant even went up. It must be such a considered process it's artisan.

I'll likely try the green first and work my way up. It'll take my extract money to buy it so hope it's good. I would expect they've set a benchmark for other brands now. Hopefully we'll see more super high grade hash coming through.

Pablos revenge was a personal favourite for me 🔥 he lists buds now too, his shake is top notch and his edibles are my go to without fail on every order I place. Great stealth too. Just to add a counterpoint, not start an argument (different people have different experiences), but Eddy's Hash Bar has been my only disappointment on here.

Spent just shy of £360 with them in the run-up to Xmas and got treated like a schmuck for my troubles.

It was a custom order of several items and only once I'd paid, did they tell me one of the items was out of stock...

So they priced-up a custom order, invoiced me, received payment AND THEN told me they didn't have what I ordered.

Oh and the cherry on the top of my £360 cake, was that when I received my order, there had been ANOTHER substitution...

Oh and the sprinkling of icing sugar on the top of the cherry on the top of my £360 cake, was that I had ordered the Xmas box, with all the bits & bobs.

Instead of which I got a bubblewrap envelope (with vac-pac inside) containing a lighter and a crumpled packet of papers.

But like I say, different people have different experiences: I guess there's just something that screams "mug" about me...

Agreed! Keeping tabs on what you do/don't have, what's been sent etc etc, is not straightforward, especially if you're one of the more popular vendors.

And if I'd ordered "off the shelf" I'd have no complaints (in that regard at least).

But if you check their page, I'm certainly in the minority: lots of happy customers and EHB is consistently recommended on here.

I guess I just got unlucky and caught them at a bad time...

On an e-commerce site the sale also manages stock levels. So you can't easily sell something you don't have. Even those fall over sometimes. On a site like this it must be wild trying to keep organised. I'm not excusing the vendor - you had the experience you had. I'd have the hump too. Good communication could have solved that ahead of you getting the package and being disappointed. At the moment I'm mad keen on trying the barz hash which EHB doesn't sell anyway I don't think. I expect I'd try them at some point though as there's lots of interesting bits there I don't see elsewhere.

This same guy tried to get us to ship to him in Canada on 2 accounts (Leethered84, DoctorZee) and it was almost like he couldn't just take no for an answer, it even got to the point he was placing orders without asking if we ship to Canada.

All sorts of red flags from this guy, so glad I never let him order, he left a good 5 or 6 1/10s on Rex2Riz's page in a smear campaign claiming his weed is sprayed.

I'm not sure what the gain is here (given he had disputes on the account when he messaged us I reckon he could be trying it on for refunds) but to take it a step further and absolutely tarnish someone's reputation with false claims and aged alt accounts to back him up.

Hopefully cleanup borg makes easy work of this fella, nasty piece of work.

No, it's not. Well, we don't really know, it's relatively new. I've only had a TreHouse HHC vape, they were great, but it's like diet weed. Still gets you high, but not for as long. HHC is only produced by flower in tiny amounts, so it's generally synthetic noids. However, they're legal. You can buy them online from most CBD suppliers. Worth it? Nah just get Distillate vapes.

I’ve recently seen a discussion that was inspired by a study into cannabis production ( pdf linked above ).
One of the things the study investigated was the impact of flushing soil grown cannabis plants with nutrient free water two weeks prior to harvest to determine whether it had the intended effect of reducing nutrient concentrations in dried bud.

According to the study - “Flushing is currently standard common practice used by many cannabis producers. This involves irrigating the plants with nutrient free water for the last two weeks before harvest. The belief is that this method of irrigation will reduce the concentration of nutrients within the bud. This reduction is then believed to have impacts on the taste of the final product when consumed. Regardless of the anecdotal impacts on taste, there is little evidence that flushing the root zone during the final phase of production would result in a net export of nutrients from the maturing bud.”

So contrary to common practice the attached study suggests flushing has almost no impact on the amount of nutrients measured in the end product. The only benefit of flushing is that the grower can use water for the final two weeks with no effect on the final yield suggesting the only benefit to flushing is that the grower can save on nutrient cost during the final two weeks of the grow cycle.
I’m sure we all know someone who’s ruined a crop from over feeding but the Cannabis for this study was grown in a lab by people who really know what they are doing.

Until I read this study I was under the impression that flushing a crop is essential and to not flush is almost a sin but is it all in the dry and cure?
There’s no denying properly cured cannabis is a different beast to something that’s been flash dried and bagged within two weeks of harvest.
Is drying in a controlled environment and a proper cure where the real magic happens and the real break down of nutrients occurs (if it happens at all)?
Is flushing stoner science?
Does anyone know what the deal is with food crops and are these flushed before being sold to consumers?
Is it just cannabis farmers that flush crops?.

I would love to hear experiences and ideas around this, I think it’s a very interesting subject especially when presented with a study that goes against what is common practice.

I believe when growing with hydro you must flush the last two weeks, two pump out the nutrients, soil organically grown is different because all the nutrients are in the soil. So I believe with arable farming it’s the same context which is why shit is sprayed as opposed to anything else at guess. I do actually know an arable farmer, so I will ask out of interest.

Im no expert...but ive grown soil and tested flushing and not with the same strain...there was a marked difference... in that the smoke was indeed smoother than the girl i didnt flush...having said this...the rougher smoke was still enjoyable in her own way...i should add..i used synthetic nutes...i've since moved to only organic and will repeat the test with this grow in 2 weeks

Let us know how the test goes, I’d love to hear. To be honest I have the same experience as you, I have only ever grown organically but I still felt there was a difference although that difference became smaller once both were properly cured.

100% agree with you on results after a decent cure...terps can (in my experience) differ sooo much...so many variables to consider...not just genetics and various phenos...but even where a particular plant was in a tent...my OCD is begining to show now :)

The crop I tested were clones from a very stable strain so it’s interesting you had the same result with different strains.
But yeah, so many variables, it’s crazy.
Apart from confusing people like me I guess the good thing with cannabis becoming more widely accepted is that we will get more controlled studies like this.

Would also love to hear from some hydro growers and their methods, I know there are specific products like Canna flush that allow nutrients to be used during the later stages of flowering.

Yeah I will speak ask him, I’m seeing him this week, he is an ole boy and hasn’t farmed for the last the couple of decades so his advice will be from during his time of farming. But this is a great thread and would be great to read other people s views and info on things as it’s great to learn.

I've never read one single peice of peer reviewed scientific evidence that backs up the flushing process.

However, I will say that very carefully introducing a lesser nutrient amount, plus lowering the light cycle by around 15 minutes every few days towards the end of flower does tend to 'force' the plant to produce a bit more resin.

I do also flush my ladies for 10-14 days because it's what I'm used to... but I have zero actual evidence flushing is doing a single thing to the end product, just my own opinion.

I dry using fan speed controllers to control relitive humidity and temperature, then cure in pitch darkness for around 8 weeks at around 60% RH and 18 degrees celcuis, and I'm fairly certain that has a huge affect on the end result, but again, that's just my opinion.

I have a couple of mates who prefer their weed dried but not cured for long at all, as although they acknowledge it's not as smooth, they say it tastes stronger.

Cannabis use is extremely subjective.

Trying to change the opinions of people who have held beliefs about cannabis for years is almost impossible. If I would make one observation of the cannabis community they are extremely set in their ways, and very certain about their opinions.

The scientific method is dynamic. That's what makes it different to religion, and there are too many people who treat cannabis cultivation like some kind of cult and avoid progress or different opinions than theirs like the plaugue.

It's exactly what happened when LED grow lights came on the scene "oh it's just a scam... It's all bullshit they'll never work" etc etc... And now, a few years later, those same people spouting these comments on grow forums are using LEDs, guaranteed.

If actual irrefutable, lab controlled botanic science proves flushing is bullshit, who the hell am I to argue? And I've been growing for 20 years.

Im a grower and i can tell you that if you do not flush you will end up with weed that is so harsh u can only cough when smoking it . Ok so use it for edibles or butter ... nope cause u will wake up with a blinding headache . So if you want a good clean tasty smoke then flush 2 weeks for soil and 1 week hydro .
