How did we let the government impose an inheritance con tax, on our loved ones already taxed belongings.
It's as if they don't already tax everything we buy or do, but to re tax a dead person's belongings after they've paid tax all their life is morally wrong, where's the ethic in that?..

Nope. The most recent HMRC statistics show less than 4% of estates paid inheritance tax in 2020–21. This will probably rise to over 7% by 2032–33. Only the most wealthy estates pay it.

Because if you don't the entire wealth of the country would be in the hands of a tiny group of people living on inherited wealth and enjoying the benefits of rent and compound interest. I will lose a reasonable sum to inheritance tax on my death and although it's annoying I also recognise that it's unavoidable if we are going to have a society with any degree of equity or hope for 95% of people. Compound interest over 100s of years creates massive fortunes often in terms of land and property these are finite resources. You can also gift huge amounts to your children before you die, if you get rid ten years before you pop your clogs IHT doesn't get it.
I feel that inheritance tax is a good thing, however, it should not go to the treasury, but instead to the local authority. In this way it benefits the community they were a part of, rather than a meaningless black hole of untraceable generic funding, that is as likely to be spent on Boris Johnsons security guards as it is something actually worthwhile. I feel the same about funds of closed companies automatically going to the treasury. It should be used locally where they need the money.

I bet its not enough to warrant the complaint. but in other news, why dont you complain about what they spend the money on? a healthy tax base and actually interesting spending is great, you build pretty great place to live that way. The infrastructure of the country is what has allowed an individual to accumulate the wealth. If someone is so greedy that they think it is preposterous to pay inheritance tax they are free to live elsewhere. The problem of the ultra-wealthy finding ways around paying any taxes at all is another issue of course. And yes the country is still mired in feudalism hence the landed gentry still being around and anachronisms such as hereditary peers sitting in the house of lords.

Actually you can choose to live almost anywhere you want. Most countries have a system that welcomes wealthy. For example British people can obtain a visa to live permanently in Europe if they have the funds to suppprt themselves. Jersey is weird and require you to have enough funds to suppprt yourself and the wages of three civil servants. Every year.

I think moving forward there are alot of people making thc vapes, different types concentrates and hash so for me it's all about safe products and quality control with what seems like an opening up in the market product wise. Looking to start reading Banks but daunted. Any biggaz have a suggestion?
Use of Weapons was my first foray into Iain M Banks but I haven't read it since about 30 years ago but I still remember it was fantastic and would recommend. It is unusual as it is two narratives separated by chapters, one going forward and one going backwards in time. Up to then I hadn't read anything with such an interesting style.
I think it is the third book in the Culture Series but I don't think it matters reading it out of sequence (From memory the books are set in that universe but most of them - I think! - don't have to be read in a particular order ie stand alone books, different plots, characters, etc.)
Just don't read too many reviews, etc. about Use of Weapons as spoilers could easily be given away.
I like a good majority of his non sci fi books under the name Iain Banks, too. Wasp Factory and Complicity both excellent.

I'm a hoarder and had a good majority of his books for years. Had a blowout a few months ago and got rid of a load of books, including his as not read them for years. Theory being out of sight, out of mind. All I want to now do is read his books. And I do mean "proper" paper books. Paid tuppence for them originally, now paperbacks are about a million pounds. (Maybe a slight exaggeration there!)

Littlebiggy is in a bad state right now! Sales have dramatically dropped due to the high BTC fees people are going elsewhere come on borgs please add a Litecoin payment option it has very small fees and faster confirmation times than Bitcoin it’s a no brainer! I know this has been suggested for many years but nothing has been implemented and we are paying the price now! There are other markets that accept different crypto once people start finding out they will never come back here for the sake for the future of this place WE NEED LITECOIN TO BE ADDED NOW!!

FOR i feel like BTC is gonna be the death of this site. You dont realize just how many other options there are out there, until you have to look. People are just gonna move on unfortunately
I wonder what the reason is for the admins being so quiet on this? I find it very curious that they don't tell us anything. The silence gives me the impression that they have no intention of implementing a new payment system but don't want to say this in case loads of people go elsewhere because they know a lot of us are holding out hope. I can't really think of any other reason. If it was a case of not being able to find developers to implement it then surely there's no reason they can't just say that. People will understand and hold onto the hope that someday, hopefully soon, they will find someone who can. But as it stands it looks like they don't give a fuck, they know the network fees will come down again, probably quite soon, and they'll be raking it in again.
LB don't address it because they are completely separate entities from the payment processors.
There are definitely teams with ambitions of bringing a new payment option as soon as possible although you can't rush this sort of thing.
One of those teams has given many updates but are still months away from launching.
As for the OP, Litecoin is not viable as far as I am concerned due to the requirements LB demand from processors.

I still can't see why the admins don't communicate with us on this. Surely they are up to speed on the latest developments of these teams that are working on implementing a new payment option.
Like probably many people, I fall into both of those groups. Am both a stoner weirdo and have pain to deal with. The latter mostly self inflicted due to extreme sport hobbies for too many years but it doesn't make it hurt less. This hiccup though means it's not viable for me to order right now whereas I was a regular spender here. It also means long term I need a better plan-b in case this happens again. I hope the admins can get it sorted.
I know it’s been hot topic for years many vendors calling for change in the payment system unfortunately it seems like it’s fallen on deaf ears or maybe the admins haven’t found anyone to work on it. It’s a highly sensitive area to work in reality I’m sure it’s not easy to get developer on board for an illegal site.

FOR - realise this is not the first time this topic has cropped up but would be a good opportunity to address it or as Polly mentioned, any update would be welcomed. I suspect a big drop in usage would not be good for LB. But I am sure local plugs down the road won’t mind the extra bit of business. that is the boat a lot of customers will find themselves in I think esp. as times are hard enough financially for most.
For - I it’s been a running topic for a while now, Blockhead had a project going but there has been no update on that. It’s definitely an issue but somehow LB powers through, I’ve seen a couple of clear net sites pop up and go down in the last couple of months.

I've just been reading a post on RQS, and I'm debating trying it out.
It was basically saying, that now that the weather is getting better (uk). I could get some decent compost and planters. I could grow some autos outside? I was thinking about doing it in my garden but I've got a neighbour that over looks our garden.
I was looking at the seeds on RQS they look good. I've never tried growing before but might give it a go . Do you think it will work? Cheers

I always get my seeds from seedsman usually go for 00 autos which generally average out at around the 3 month cycle. If you are going for outside and you have a nice area with good sun you will get something out of them try to time it so last 6 weeks get the most daylight hours, a lot depends on how you care for them, it's all goldilocks just enough of everything but not too much or too little, this gets easier with experience so the sooner you start the better you become.
As for being overlooked by nosey neighbours you can take the 'just don't give a fuck' attitude and chance it or if you think they may cause you problems try companion planting with things that provide a screen in their direction, if you grow other plants like tomatoes then your sudden interest in gardening can be explained. Also as a caveat don't expect "cali" type buds as you will soon come to realise that these results are usually manipulated for appearance at the cost of quality imo.
All in all I'd say its worth a go, what else are you gonna be doing?

Check it out a strain called Auto Duck by Dutch Passion. It has a low odour and duck feet shaped leaf formation which makes it pretty stealthy for gardens.
You could also grow autos in little pots so they don’t get to big. Just don’t transplant them, start them in the pot you are going to keep them in.

agree re ducks foot , its really doesnt look like a cannabis plant until it flowers and then it does look much more like one. Can smell very strong. there are feminsised autos available which I would recommend for a first time grower.
I agree with the small greenhouse , you can get an up right one for about £45 . can get far too hot in one though and stresses the plants , also if pests get in they run riot. you can spray before they flower though.

They genuinely are a good choice for guerrilla grows in the back garden. Decent yield for the size too. Alternate them with some tomato plants so they blend in. The only reason I stopped growing them myself is as the kids got older they started asking awkward questions. My boy still thinks I used to dry onions in the attic!!!

Be weary of pests outdoors too mate, my pal gave it a go but got eaten alive 🤦🏼♂️. Lived next to a park with lots of trees and greenery tho so was inevitable, you might have better conditions where u are. This anonymity thing sucks sometimes, I've got 100s of seeds and would gladly give some away to a first timer 😞. And yes 100% be careful of the neighbour, be great if u could get them out of their view but if not maybe try grow some other plants around them to hide them if u can 🤷🏼♂️. No matter what anyone says here, you wont know until u try it so be careful, give it a go and get the experience 💪🏼.

Thanks for that mate some great info. Yup never tried this before lol. I've spotted a bit of fence which if I put then behind that it could block their view potentially. The rise in bitcoin fees is ridiculous, I just tried to send bitcoin over to pay for some items and btc network wants £30 in network fees, fuck that!
There are other cryptocurrencies out there that cost £0.00 to transfer, crypto's like XLM and XRP charge a fraction of a penny even when the network is busy.
Buyers and sellers are suffering because of the bitcoin network fees so why dont the devs of this website make some edits on this littlebiggy so that we the customers can pay in XRP/XLM?

Yep, I just bought some shake for £60 and had to pay £30 in network fees (50%!!!). Something needs to be done asap as people will start looking elsewhere. This should've been sorted already tbh the fees aren't going anywhere...

So yeah I agree the fees are getting ridiculous and I about had a stroke when I had to add currency twice just to pay the fees. So i started using a wallet that tells you the fees upfront which is still crap but at least i know the damage before hand.
I don't mind paying some fees and mine only ended up being $20 thereabouts. A month or two ago I think for the same amount it was only $10 so yeah LB needs to allow us the use of less popular crypto before everyone rages and destroys things...well ok maybe that was just me lol

I was just about to order some hash for Xmas from Green Avenger Weed and had to cancel the order due to the insane fees Bittylicious are charging! Wtf is going on, it's completely unreasonable, and fucking over the buyer and seller retrospectively. We as buyers will be priced out on LB, certainly not paying a Q in fees! I've always used LB, and generally pay maybe £5 - £6 in fees which i can justify, but not these extortionate rates, they can fuck right off. If this continues, it's going to be bad news for the sellers. Local plug it is for Xmas.

You don’t need to do 4 separate transactions . Just Put everything in the same cart and When you go to pay for the cart It will give you one total to pay and the site will redirect the funds to the appropriate vendors ….

Getting annoying now as today (18th) is probs about the last day to order if you want it definitely guaranteed before xmas, although I haven't noticed my post slowing down yet tbh.
The fees had been going down since last night, where half as much this morning as yesterday thought holding out a little longer would see them come down some more but nope ofcourse not they've gone right back up even higher! If you catch any sort of break biggas just take it while you can!

Glad im not the only one outraged. Grabbed half blue cheese half shake and a vape and had to pay 30 in network fees which is beyond a joke. Came to 38 in total with coinbase fees buying coins/ sending.
Paid the same in nov but was only buying shake so could allow it but it’s ridiculous. Won’t use LB again till it’s lowered and I suggest ppl boycott. Only grabbed off here as im out in the sticks and cars in the garage. Won’t be back till it’s sorted. What a shame..LB was a lifesaver in lockdown

I use electrum to send BTC - this gives quite a bit of flexibility on how to pay the fee - you get 3 options and a slider.
I paid about £9 today on £200 which cleareed in about 30 mins.
I could have paid about £30 if I had chosen one of the other methods.
Also pays to look at the mempool which tells you the current rates:

Like most people I accept there will be a handling fee for using the service and I thought £15 was more than enough for that but £30 today is just taking liberties . As with so many things greed has taken something useful and made it unworkable . Bitcoin needs kicking into touch by this site .

Has any one tried revolut, really simple to add and send to bct address, I ordered £200 of stuff and only charged me £8 fee in total

If you pay 9.99 a month for the revolut plus, you got loads of benefits, including cheap crypto fees, the most I’ve probably paid is £10, that’s buying and sending included
I ordered about 4:30 this morning to get the fees down a bit and got roughly £100 order for £23 fees. Still extortionate but a little better than yesterday where it was up to £62 in fees for the same order. It is getting silly now. Good luck everyone.
I made a $480 purchase the other day. My fees were $8.70 . That was with the rabbit speed. Turtle was about $6.80 and lightning was around $24 .
I stupidly didnt know what was going on with the network fees I have now had $200 dollars stuck on the blockchain for over 5 days now.
