Cannabis 101: what are terpenes?
Terpenes are the naturally occurring volatile aromatic compounds that give cannabis strains their unique flavour, aroma and effects. Through the proposed mechanism of the entourage effect, terpenes modulate the effects of THC on the CB1 receptor by interacting with the binding affinity between compound and receptor. The end result is a variety of different therapeutic effects for the user. Through an understanding of terpenes and their interaction with the body, we are able to intuit potential medical applications of these therapeutic effects. Of course, as with all fields, further study is needed for conclusive results to be attained.
Terpenes in fact occur naturally in most plants giving them their unique flavour and aroma. Likewise, many of the carts you purchase use botanically derived terpenes from other plants, as they exist in higher concentrations and the starting material is generally cheaper. Most notoriously, black pepper is known to contain high concentrations of caryophyllene, and ripe mangoes a high concentration of myrcene. From an objective point of view, these are chemically identical to those naturally occurring in cannabis but often-times make for a worse subjective experience for the end user than naturally derived terpenes from full spectrum extraction of the cannabis plant. Unfortunately this is still a mystery to science, but my gut feeling is that we are getting the blends wrong.
Terpenes are incredibly volatile, and will degrade when exposed to air, and excessive temperatures. Extraction methods for concentrates need to be highly sensitive to preserve as much of this natural goodness as possible. Many recommend the bodeva pack – correct moisture levels are fantastic for retaining terpenes, but I often find these remove some terpene content from the flower. Newer technologies like the grove bag promise to maintain the correct humidity level whilst avoiding this problem, but from experience, trichomes are sometimes attracted to the side of these bags through static. A nice curing jar is the best way to keep things as nature intended. Make sure to keep it away from sunlight, or purchase a UV proof jar.

That's the dominant terps in orange bud isn't it? If so you're along the right lines for sure!
Indeed, and one of the most common terpenes in cannabis. It surprised me to find out that few orange strains are high in limonene. After all, limonene is the dominant aroma compound in orange peels.
Orange buds do seem to have a higher variety of minor terpenes than other strain families, which is very intriguing.

I remember years ago picking up gorilla glue for first time. Was very strong. But at the expense of everything else. Not much taste or anything. I didn't love it nearly as much as the less strong but more tasty bit I had. That could of course be for many reasons but I remember back then I started to question how much flavour had to play in the experience. It's interesting to read about the complexities.

Who remembers when dopey recently made a post bragging that he ran the wall this year? Well he’s not kidding.
The ego from dopey/SOTL makes a lot more sense once you start putting the pieces together.
This character has 100s of alts both on here, redit and teegee. He uses them to slander all other vendors, places plenty of orders with all these other vendors to then cause them hassle by complaining with outright lies to cause them stress, pull free products or free refunds from them.
He uses all his Reddit alts to regularly make posts asking who’s got the best weed etc, then replies to himself on a number of other alts consistently backing the same group of vendors and slandering the same group of vendors.
He regularly creates fake drama on here, often even leaving himself with the most outrageous review so it can easily be called out from his vendor account, make himself look good, backs himself up on more alts, gets extra free engagement from unsuspecting biggas who have no idea they are being manipulated, which pushes him up the wall.
He’s also known to create clone accounts of real genuine customers that have dared to speak up against him.
Who remembers the recent post about SOTL from a redit user called something like fast-pack. This is SOTL himself trying to frame FastTrack, creating fake drama, getting his free publicity and engagement. Win win win situation for SOTL.
There’s years of history on redit of this degenerates alts all engaging with each other and talking to each other, why do you think SOTL deleted his Reddit account? Because his posts from years back (before he was a vendor) are all still on Reddit and you can see them linked together with the same profiles having deleted comments. We have evidence of all of this.
The admins will no doubt delete this topic and ban our account and do everything they can to protect dopey and all his other vendor accounts and alt trolls.

If you are after something a little more, I can do the following:
Optimise the heating curve of the element for either dry herb or concentrates.
Power it with hot swappable 18650s, or any battery variant of your choice.
Battery bypass: include an adaptor for mains power, so the device can be used either portably or as a mains powered mini desktop vape.

Since I’ve never owned one it’s hard to say how or if it needs improving. They are just very hard to come by, ship from Switzerland on a lottery type basis and cost a lot.
BUT, very few vapes cope well with hash and herb but this one apparently does it brilliantly. I get the modular design but I’m not sure what else drives its success hence the links. I’d be very happy to road test your version, you clearly seem to know your stuff. If it was specced to the existing model that would be fascinating and yeah don’t need the wood customisation they seem to like. Your pricing will be interesting…I think BAKx ship without box mods and you choose your own. I’d rather it came with one…

its really good. i had a sample myself and would recommend. plan to buy more. i found it v uppy, surprisingly so, made for a v useful option. has a v unique flavour profile though kinda smokey-cured like a fine tobacco, so maybe try a smaller bit first

Hello all, not really a big hash person but recently found a liking for it more. Only thing is there’s all these different types of hash. What is exactly the best type and value worth. For example this 90u/120u what exactly is the difference and why is it more pricey? Thanks LB
Cannabis is first dried and then filtered through a mesh screen. The 90/120u refers to the spacing on the screen used to filter the hash. 1 u is 1/1000th of a mm. Typically hashes are first sifted at a higher size like 200u, then through increasingly finer meshes to get finer and finer products.
120u is about as big as a nice mature trichome head will be, and 90u is about as small as a nice mature trichome head gets. Sizes below this don't necessarily result in a purer hash however, as too much below this, we start getting immature trichome heads.
The price difference comes from the fact less end product will come out of a finer mesh filter, so the economy does what it does and charges more 😀

Some of the fancy hashes absolutely blow your mind man. Usually I'll use hash as a joint topper. Some of the cold cure and frozen hashes are fantastically strong though and a world away from the commercial hashes and much stronger than weed on its own. Telling us that our top shelf Cali is CBD weed that doesn't get them high, that it burns black ash, that their order was under weight, that we sent them the wrong samples, that we sent completely wrong product (then going on to describe a product we don't even stock).
So vendors, please be extra vigilant and don't let the scammers win!
For all our customers, please don't be put off by this, our reviews speak for themselves, none of our products burn black ash or are CBD. If orders aren't bang on weight, they are over, and we've only ever mixed orders up once when we first started out of over 1000 orders across platforms, and as soon as we realised our mistake, we rectified it!
Scammers - please stop damaging our LB community. It makes it difficult for vendors to keep costs down and pass on savings to genuine buyers when you are trying to scam people. It also creates a culture of distrust, which is highly inconducive to us having more love and less fear and anger!

I’ve never really understood the “strong edibles” request because it’s just a matter of accurate dosage. Tolerances with consumption vary hugely by individual - some people can’t absorb thc at all this way regardless of strength. With edibles made from distillate then it’s trial and error, start low and add as required and you’ll find your sweet spot.
The connoisseur route moves away from straight distillate (the quality of which if not the strength can be highly subjective hence why edibles keep getting cheaper imo) to the addition or use of FECO, RSO and psilosybin. It the right hands these can produce wonderful experience edibles far exceeding “strong distillate”.

These are also know to suppress appetite, and there is even some research showing that humulene is an effective appetite suppressant when taken as a supplement with no discernable side effects. Although, further study is needed and I'm rambling 🤣

Making your own with some RSO might be the ticket - as this is a full spectrum extract. You can always cut RSO 50:50 with delta 9 distillate to spread the cost even more.

Im just browsing on big myself and searched to see my listings and couldn't find them? have I put the right keywords in or am I missing something. Is it the title that ranks?

Title of the item does seem to take priority though.
Your listing also appears when searching for the seller name.
Your stuff shows just fine on the wall, and is searchable, from what I can see, but it's always worth doing some SEO :)

Reckon this is the best Christmas song. It usually wins polls around this time of year. Completely fair as it's one of the only songs that critiques the festive season and describes it in a very real way. Most of our Christmases won't look like the John Lewis ad. I make custom audio equipment and also read tarot. Is there any reason I couldn't list these services for sale? Not expecting a single sale or interest if I did, but are there rules against this?

What sort of things are you interested in? I've got 20 years design and build experience. Speakers, amps, PA systems, effects pedals, interfaces, preamps, guitar amps, hifi - you name it.

Yes to all the stuff you listed, I'm currently looking at an sg copy hanging on my wall that got half the gubbins removed, I'm planning on splitting the pickups so that I have one pickup covering all six strings and 2 other pickups covering 3 strings each which I'm them planning on routing to 3 outputs to my pedal board where it's gonna then end up going through a 2 amp one cab design I'm in collecting bits mode for.
I have no idea if it's gonna work how I envision but the idea is to basically be able to saturate as much of sub to shrill with one instrument
Oh and the guitar is a 6 string tuned to A 👍
It's an ongoing side project 😁

I can't actually remember what speakers are in this cab at the moment, sound quality isn't really a concern currently as I don't plan to go any further than the hutch it's more the fun of working out what I want and then bodging my way to it.

I usually charge £20/hour + parts for this type of work, and that's gonna take about 20 mins or so. Hopefully your kidneys are worth a lot more than that 😉🤣

Naim seem to swap out the part for something else based on what I could glean with the Google device but that's about all I understood when I looked which was a while ago.
My soldering skills are still at butchery level so I know better than to even try to go delving in there

Depends on the nature of the fault. Most probably down to the sketchy pot design with this type of failure. A little solder and a new pot should do it. It's Always worth a soft reset just in case gremlins have found their way into the controls 🤔
Soldering is not as tricky as it looks. A little patience and a little (and I emphasise not actually that much) practice, and you'll be golden. With repair work especially, be wary of how much heat is needed for the solder to flow vs. how much will affect component integrity. Takes a little practice 🤞

It's not a pot it's a resistor ladder that controls the volume

I was a bit blazed last night 😅 They give you a great volume control, but having an array of resistors is a much bigger pain to service for very little benefit. They're not common until you get to the high end of hifi usually
Yup, I'm lucky that my wife's uncle is a keen but budget limited audiophile so the setup I have was his first setup which he retired due to the aforementioned volume issues, he seemed puzzled that I didn't have issue with it originally but I started to later on.
Well I had an epiphany last night, I didn't have issues first off because I was using a dac to control the volume not the unit and it was only when I went more than one input and started adjusting the volume manually I had issues.
So in theory if I retwiddle the setup and drop all inputs other than the Dac I could find a place where the resistors are all happy and let the Dac to the volume

No rules against it at all but the main reason more legal items are not listed here is because it only takes bitcoin. Few people will pay fees to buy legal stuff🤷♂️
