Is this a liberty cap? Google images thinks so but I prefer real help 🤣
Picked about 10 mins ago but shrivelled a bit already.

It could be one of the UK Paneolus species, some contain psylocybin but I wouldn't risk it unless you are 100% able to identify the specie.

You're better off looking for liberty caps or wavy caps (the wavy caps will be easy to identify as they should stain blue if bruised).

Best advice I can give you is to seek a copy of Stamet's book "Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World: An Identification Guide".

Looks a bit disproportionate in relation to the cap and stalk. Cap too large and stalk too small.

When libs dry out a bit they turn a cream/whiteish colour. When brown the cap would have a gelatinous layer beneath a really thin film at its surface and i don’t think i’ve seen grooves on the outer cap before.

I think i’ve seen these mushrooms grow close to liberty caps before, so you’re hopefully in the right area, but i’m not convinced this is a liberty cap to be honest
