I use revolut as my only bank account. no need for a physical bank account,because i have a mastercard with them,all my earnings are paid into revolut,and did not need any photo id.I buy my bitcoins from them and then transfer them to my exodus wallet.fees are really low also :)

Is Exodus an Apple only product? Not seeing it in Play Store.

I’ve done same w/ Coinbase - bought bc & sent straight to vendor. I do have a Coinomi wallet but haven’t used in ages. Only concern is I haven’t submitted a wallet address in case of dispute/refund. Don’t know where to do that, I’m little new to LB/Transaxe & unfamiliar w/ the proper process. Any advice from others would be appreciated

Does anyone use Paxful? theres sellers who want paypal as payment method and i'm wondering if its legit? the exchange rate is 99% on some offers that would save me a lot of money as i have no ID and being using coincoupon at £15 fees for each buy!

Yeah paxful is good to buy from just buy from sellers with lots of good reviews as some want more money than you sent nd agreed upon but it is overall good

Holy cow - bitcoin is effing complicated. It's not just setting it up, it's all the fees that get added here and there. Wallet, exchange, verification - and then when you take the leap you discover a UK credit card purchase gets you a 24 hour cooling off. WTAF?
I guess it's just the first transaction but even so.
There should be a really simple guide here, step by step and list a few wallets and a few exchanges. So many searches to figure it out and going round in circles.
I was gonna recommend the thing to my mates but they won't have the patience.

well I did it - all through Exodus, dunno if rates good or not but whatevs. Avoid Paybis, bank accepted it but Paybis rejected every time

Btw. Ive been using the plain blockchain wallet for two years without any issues. Least hassle wallet Ive seen! And since I wont upgrade my OS on my mac its one of the few I can actually use. Just sayin, cause Ive seen how it is hated upon on the net. Guess its the competition that spread this lie.

Which bitcoin site to use

Exchanges still cant beat the price of btc I get on localbitcoinsdotcom. The only hassle is I need to order btc and go to my local national financial agency and pay a money transfer slip with cash. Thats not a prob tho, cause the teller is a very nice looking woman :P And btc is in my wallet in 3-6 hours after I pay.

Can I ask, does 'local national financial agency' roughly translate to the Union in the West or something similar?

It will depend on which country you are in. Look for the bank that is managing the most business in your region...

Seen this on one of the other platforms not sure if 100% correct but I would be wary of coinbase they are very intrusive closed my account a few months ago. They give details to HRMC depending on whether you’ve spent over the threshold limit.

Bustards charged me 35 dollars fee for sending. Was under pressure so had to accept. Good shout though

Yes it’s for everyone, it’s because Bitcoin fees are through the roof at the mo and they are trying to negate the effects. They peaked Tues and seem to be dropping but not yet close to what everyone is used to - I expect it will be several days at least until they remove the restrictions

And is Paybis going to be any better if I open an account and does anyone have any idea if I can move what I have in the vex account over? I heard about the new HMRC crypto regs a few months ago and been preparing for it by buying as much BTC/USDT as possible and sending it to my self custody wallets. I have Trust Wallet/Phantom and for cold storage Tangem ring. It doesn't cost much then to swap it for any Altcoin etc.
I figured the only way around this is to do all transactions decentrally and to keep involvement with central exchanges to a minimum.
Alternatively there are peer to peer BTC swap sites using debit card etc but they're expensive.
It's all a bit of a nightmare, but I wonder if it'll be as bad as everyone thinks and perhaps only catch up with the blatant CGT dodgers.

I'm really hoping this is something that 'traders' will be targeted for, not us. I bought a high amount just before this kicked in... I'd need advice about how to use other sites effectively, ideally.

Hi MightyRux 👍yes ive had an email from my crypto exchange ( bittylicous) stating that more information will be required ie NI number. 🤨 from tomorrow 1/1/26. Which puts a doubt in my mind for future purchases on here. It obviously effects everybody on here. Theres no way round the issue. So as you mentioned. Today could be my last buy on here until I know what the outcome will be. Dont fancy getting stung by HMRC for tax and unwanted correspondence to my address. Little biggy. I ran my cb acc and exodus wallet through summ.com and koinly for tax reports and for the last 5 years all I have accumulated is negative gains, which should mean I don’t have to declare diddly, unless I want to declare the negative gains to offset against any future gains…but that all sounds like a headache to me, I am relatively confident I won’t see anything significant from the taxman given this. I would advise others tr the same services or something similar. Koinly was better in my opinion and if I wanted a detailed tax report had I been in positive gains then that is when they charge you it otherwise it was all free. This is all so gov can get even more tax off our already taxed money…..

Do not initiate anything that results in you having to submit a Self Assessment tax return yearly. The amount of stress and the ball ache is not worth it, unless you can get a lot back. You'll have to submit it yearly from then on.

I think you're right mate. If you go to the site and have a look at your profile then there's already enough information to match anyone provided to trade, irrespective of the provision of a NI Number, so I don't think it's really that much more info than they currently have to enable you to trade. We'll see what happens...

yeah i saw this coming with the travel rules when i wrote that guide and i dont think anything has changed other than the set up for it is now live. mechanics in that guide still remain. use self custody wallets as much as possible. never recieve or send crypto directly from an exchange. always use a hot wallet (self custody) as a hop. there are more steps to tighten things up that is a basic that will save a lot of hassle

What wallets would you recommend? Will you no longer use a main exchange? Everything seems to be traceable unless you buy your crypto with an untraceable pay methods….

Everything is traceable on the Blockchain dude. As a start, make sure your purchases go to a non-KYC wallet like Exodus or MetaMask, then we'll cross our fingers.

Would it be traceable if you bought crypto on hodl with gft cards, and had the crypto seller send it to a new wallet…shit I can’t even remember how I set up exodus wallet, do you need ID for it….

The box at the top of the trade screen now states we need to give this information for any trades from 2027 onwards. I'd imagine as they're on the Isle Of Man they'll be as minimally compliant as they can be? There's usually only one reason your business is registered there, after all, and that's to bypass tax compliance.

Run your exchange acc and any self custody wallets you have sent to fro tha acc through something like Koinly. I discovered over past 5-6 years I have only ever been in negative gains so really shouldn’t have to worry. I only ever buy what I need in terms of crypto for an lb purchase at the time so never hold onto crypto for long, or at most no more than a couple of bucks

From an exchange to a wallet, so yeah, all traceable, but before the enforced reporting.

Check out koinly or summ. It can work out tax owed for all activity over the years. Both are free until you want detailed reports for proper declarations etc. koinly was more straightforward. I have only negative gains for the time I have used crypto (5-6 years) so I think I’m in the clear of being stung by the taxman. I think buying large amounts of crypto and trying to hide that is a v risky strategy. I may try hodl option with a new wallet then I guess it wouldn’t be linked to me in anyway though the wallet buys will be traceable to an extent still unless there really is a wallet type that isn’t. May have to revert to Budmother or moonbarguy websites until the dust settles. I wonder how one can check where they stand with taxman. When might we hear something I wonder

I'll be telling them that I'm nowhere near £1k in profits so I kept no records. We don't have to prove innocence in the UK, that's a weird French thing.

Do you have a non-KYC wallet like Exodus to send to? If so, follow Raw's advice.

From tomorrow 1/1/26 they may well ask for your NI number and other tax reportable information too, so they can grass you up to HMRC.

This site acts as escrow so when you place an order the wallet shown is a Transaxe wallet on behalf of Littlebiggy. Your never sending the vendor funds directly, your sending to a Transaxe controlled wallet to hold while the package arrives, just clearing that up.

If you’ve sent BTC to the wrong address, unfortunately you will not get that money back

if its a transaxe address you will.

I send GBP from Revolut to coinbase rather than the BTC.
Given the exchange fees are cheaper on coinbase (they are sky high on Revolut btw) this method makes more sense, and Revolut do not scrutinise the transfer of fiat like they do crypto.
Made this mistake first time and had questions about transaxe wallet.
When I got it back, I did as above and have made probably 10 transactions this way with zero issues.
Recommend.

I used my revolut account to pay by btc to LB twice in a month and now I've been sent email from revolut stating my account has been restricted until they investigate some transactions.

What do I say I they question the transactions to get account back to normal?

And next time what is the best way to buy from LB? I have coinbase account too.

I had the same thing. I simply responded that I had sent the coins to escrow for exchange which was not a lie.
I figured I could not deal with a 10 day account restriction every time whilst revolut questioned who I was sending to.
If you look on your coinbase app you will actually find that your account has a sort code and account number that you can deposit fiat currency into. You can do this as normal on your banking app as though you were paying a bill. You need your unique payment reference number as well which starts with CB.
This way you get better fees and do not get anybody asking questions when you move your crypto.
If you buy usdc on coinbase it is free too and you get free trades which you can use to convert to btc to save you the cb crypto purchase fee.

Yeah same here and now that wallets blocked. They closed my account for 3-4 days and was very unhelpful in getting it fixed

Seen a few people complaining about this from Revolut now. Wirex is a great new platform I’ve heard good things about it. It’s becoming harder and harder to secure a decent crypto wallet. Most have issues now 😞

Sheesh was going to use Revolut if cb kept asking questions. Right now cb to own exodus is working for me.

Always use a bridging wallet or two

revolut temporarily block my account every time but usually only for about an hour. then I can do the withdrawal. you should delete the disabled addresses from your account and use a new wallet address for withdrawing to (generate a new one from the official bitcoin wallet app) also though it costs more by withdrawing to your own wallet first, it's harder and less likely to be scrutinised than sending directly to a transaxe provided address.

I had put them in as a contacts on my revolut when purchased from LB. If I delete them and next time wish to order , using my revolut account, likely to be ok?

just brace for the temporary block and you'll be fine. sending to your own btc wallet first will reduce scrutiny

Can't send to other btc providers wallet, but your allowed to send upto 50 addresses.

This has just happened to me as well when trying to send to Exodus despite working fine previously. Can anyone confirm if this happens every time you try and send to an external wallet or is it just certain ones?

Unfortunately not. Last year there was a rumor that Litecoin would be accepted, but that never happened.

For Monero (XMR) Edge Wallet does more than the job. It used to be Airbit. They prioritise privacy big time. Numerous wallets are possible within the one app. Everything from Bitcoin to Zcash. Secure coin exchange is built in as is live market data One of the few mobile wallets to feature a wallet for the other uber privacy serious, nontraceable coin, Pirate Chain. I have the wallet because it's Monero and Pirate Chain friendly. Very easy UI with a slick look.

This is a much more serious issue than is being talked about on here. Most folk seem quite blasé about it but having experienced an audit first-hand they dont play around. LB`s reliance on a single form of Crypto has always been a bit of an issue but from next year (probably later this year tbh) it's going to become a very serious problem I suspect. I love this place & want to see it continue & grow but if it just stays as-is in the face of the new regs I`m not sure how it survives.

Anyone who has not actually looked at the reporting requirements should have a proper look at them. It's bad enough as a customer, as a vendor I would be very nervous I think.

Is it a solvable problem? Yes of course it is, all problems are but given we have be clamouring for alternative payment options for literally years at this point & we are still stuck on BTC only I`m not sure it will get solved.

Governments were never going to tolerate the "Wild West" approach of Crypto for very long, they like control too much.I am reluctantly looking into other options as I dont need the stress of every transaction potentially triggering an investigation. What would you realistically tell them anyway?

I agree with you I had a letter from them saying that they were aware of my online selling on digital platforms and that I had to report everything else they'll look into it deeper.

If they do the same with crypto there is going to be much pain.

We could be, but it’s financial services, and those guys don’t mess about when it comes to keeping their house in order. Perhaps it’s time to lay low and see where the dust settles. I just hope LB comes up with some alternative ways for users to purchase now that doesn’t drag us all down via the taxman

I've repeatedly tried to warn biggas about this without being too explicit (not mentionning some Gov related keywords).

The way I've dealt wiht it is that I closed my Revolut account at the end of 2024 and am siting tight and watching what will happen next.

Some biggas could be in for mighty fines and big trouble.
