I use revolut as my only bank account. no need for a physical bank account,because i have a mastercard with them,all my earnings are paid into revolut,and did not need any photo id.I buy my bitcoins from them and then transfer them to my exodus wallet.fees are really low also :)

I’ve done same w/ Coinbase - bought bc & sent straight to vendor. I do have a Coinomi wallet but haven’t used in ages. Only concern is I haven’t submitted a wallet address in case of dispute/refund. Don’t know where to do that, I’m little new to LB/Transaxe & unfamiliar w/ the proper process. Any advice from others would be appreciated

Holy cow - bitcoin is effing complicated. It's not just setting it up, it's all the fees that get added here and there. Wallet, exchange, verification - and then when you take the leap you discover a UK credit card purchase gets you a 24 hour cooling off. WTAF?
I guess it's just the first transaction but even so.
There should be a really simple guide here, step by step and list a few wallets and a few exchanges. So many searches to figure it out and going round in circles.
I was gonna recommend the thing to my mates but they won't have the patience.

Btw. Ive been using the plain blockchain wallet for two years without any issues. Least hassle wallet Ive seen! And since I wont upgrade my OS on my mac its one of the few I can actually use. Just sayin, cause Ive seen how it is hated upon on the net. Guess its the competition that spread this lie.

Exchanges still cant beat the price of btc I get on localbitcoinsdotcom. The only hassle is I need to order btc and go to my local national financial agency and pay a money transfer slip with cash. Thats not a prob tho, cause the teller is a very nice looking woman :P And btc is in my wallet in 3-6 hours after I pay.

Seen this on one of the other platforms not sure if 100% correct but I would be wary of coinbase they are very intrusive closed my account a few months ago. They give details to HRMC depending on whether you’ve spent over the threshold limit.

Yes it’s for everyone, it’s because Bitcoin fees are through the roof at the mo and they are trying to negate the effects. They peaked Tues and seem to be dropping but not yet close to what everyone is used to - I expect it will be several days at least until they remove the restrictions

I've just tried to send btc and its telling me that the address is disabled.
I've messaged revolut and great help they are 🤣🤣
I had zero issues last week transferring to my wallet, wallet still has leftover btc in it from last week, bit annoyed 😑

I send GBP from Revolut to coinbase rather than the BTC.
Given the exchange fees are cheaper on coinbase (they are sky high on Revolut btw) this method makes more sense, and Revolut do not scrutinise the transfer of fiat like they do crypto.
Made this mistake first time and had questions about transaxe wallet.
When I got it back, I did as above and have made probably 10 transactions this way with zero issues.
Recommend.

I used my revolut account to pay by btc to LB twice in a month and now I've been sent email from revolut stating my account has been restricted until they investigate some transactions.

What do I say I they question the transactions to get account back to normal?

And next time what is the best way to buy from LB? I have coinbase account too.

I had the same thing. I simply responded that I had sent the coins to escrow for exchange which was not a lie.
I figured I could not deal with a 10 day account restriction every time whilst revolut questioned who I was sending to.
If you look on your coinbase app you will actually find that your account has a sort code and account number that you can deposit fiat currency into. You can do this as normal on your banking app as though you were paying a bill. You need your unique payment reference number as well which starts with CB.
This way you get better fees and do not get anybody asking questions when you move your crypto.
If you buy usdc on coinbase it is free too and you get free trades which you can use to convert to btc to save you the cb crypto purchase fee.

Seen a few people complaining about this from Revolut now. Wirex is a great new platform I’ve heard good things about it. It’s becoming harder and harder to secure a decent crypto wallet. Most have issues now 😞

revolut temporarily block my account every time but usually only for about an hour. then I can do the withdrawal. you should delete the disabled addresses from your account and use a new wallet address for withdrawing to (generate a new one from the official bitcoin wallet app) also though it costs more by withdrawing to your own wallet first, it's harder and less likely to be scrutinised than sending directly to a transaxe provided address.

Try Hodl Hodl or local bitcoin there's no KYC on these. They're P2P platforms. The transaction fees will be higher though without showing ID!

Personally I'd recommend everybody gets a Crypto Bank account. Never any issues with transferring Fiat in both directions and exchanging for BTC is a doddle.

Plus you can use the Visa card just like you can with your high street bank card.

I use bittylicious. I can’t remember if they wanted ID or not to set the account up, it was years ago.

But you can purchase by BACS transfer to circumvent any restrictions your bank may have. Really quick and easy.

I don’t even have a wallet. I just transfer the exact amount directly into the vendors wallet through Bittylicious.

Even if they want ID, what’s the issue? Buying a bit of smoke or some shrooms on LB is hardly going to get you in any trouble, even if they ever managed to track you down.

any chance you have a bitcoin atm in your area? its a quick and easy way of buying btc with cash, and its anonymous(no id required). you only need a wallet obviously, i myself use electrum and im pretty satisfied. the fees on the btc atm i use are quite high(5eu usually), but its worth it. less traces left behind

I had a relatively convincing phishing attempt yesterday, connected to Coinbase.

A well spoken man, English accent, calling himself Andy Lawson, claiming to be part of Coinbase’s security/fraud team, called multiple times in quick succession until I answered.

He claimed someone in Singapore had tried to hack my account from an android device, that my own devices had been compromised and that he needed to submit a ‘fraud report’ to anyone I have financial dealings with, including my bank.

‘Andy’ was a bit nervous but sounded like he had some crypto knowledge (more than me) and it felt like he was trying to get me anxious/worried/stressed. He was talking about how ‘concerned’ they were that this had happened,how my account will be suspended, and asked about how I store my currency on Coinbase.

Unfortunately for ‘Andy’ I was very stoned, not very technically minded, and haven’t used Coinbase in many months. Any balance held there would be under £1 so I wasn’t that concerned about any hacking attempts.

I was unable to answer (or really understand) ‘Andy’s’ questions about various wallets and so the call didn’t really go anywhere, and he got no useful information from me.

It felt weird at the time, but I wasn’t automatically assuming it was a scam as ‘Andy’ came across more convincingly than other similar spam calls.

Coinbase confirmed to me afterwards that they would never call a customer - and a quick google showed multiple Reddit threads (mostly from USA) describing extremely similar experiences. In a lot of these cases, people were asked to move their currency into a new wallet that the scammers also had access to - and those that did lost the lot.

So I just wanted to give a heads up - I didn’t fall for it - due to ignorance, luck and having nothing worth nicking instead of anything clever - but this was the most convincing phishing attempt I’ve had. And so perhaps easier to get sucked in than others, especially as a lot of us here will have a Coinbase account.

So be aware: if someone claims to be calling you from Coinbase *it’s a scam*

If so, can I have some help with this, as I’m completely clueless? If not, how would I transfer this from Coinbase to a wallet that I can then send the bitcoin to the link for the transaction?

Set up an exodus wallet, then from cb use the exodus wallet address and check send to self, once your btc is in the wallet, send from exodus for your lb order…simples. Exodus asks no questions.

I've made an order and paid, I transferred coin to a wallet I saved within my revolut account which was the wallet address of the user, the payment is showing as sent, but not received and the wallet its asking for is different to what I have saved...im worried?

You'll need to message transaxe on here with your order number & the address you sent the wallet to. They should be able to sort it 👍

Just be aware the BTC addresses do change with each order, so dont save an address... Always use the one provided on the transaxe page

Thought I should change to sending from a coinbase wallet.

Somehow it's converted to coinbase wrapped (cbBTC) its a token that represents the btc you own and you'll need to transfer it 😉
If you're using the Coinbase Wallet app, redeeming cbBTC for BTC involves slightly different steps. Here’s how to do it:

Steps to Redeem cbBTC to BTC in Coinbase Wallet App

1. Open Coinbase Wallet App

Launch the Coinbase Wallet app on your device.

2. Locate Your cbBTC Balance

Tap on your Wallet tab to see your list of assets.

Select cbBTC from the list.

3. Convert cbBTC to BTC

If supported within the app, look for an option like Swap, Convert, or Redeem.

Choose BTC as the asset you want to receive.

Well, this isn't complicated at all, is it?! I feel next time an old skunk would be better off sending the BTC initially to their own non-KYC wallet like Exodus and paying an extra gas fee of a couple of quid at most (other than during the occasional weird and ridiculous spikes, that is, but that's unavoidable generally and hasn't happened for ages) to send from there to here. Then you can always tell the truth to them and say you're sending to yourself, plus the extra layer of separation.

I know I didn't make all these things up though I'm just trying to help the guy back his bitcoin mate. Coinbase hit me with a whole load of stuff to do before it'll let me do anything. So 2moro I'm setting up a wallet I was looking at trust wallet, I'll check out exodus 2moro too.

I think I just picked bitpanda as the host and I put in initials for the receivers name - I think GC for green cat. I'm not sure it actually checks? I think it just requires you to log something.

Overall:
I was impressed with Paybis and I'm surprised they aren't mentioned more often in discussions of good exchanges. They are transparent, fast, professional, and trustworthy, even if their rates for some payment methods aren't number 1.

Because all exchanges now, unless you're doing Peer to Peer are subject to KYC. Meaning, legally, they need to verify you are who you are.

I had a payment go missing with no reply from transaxe support as yet and I've just noticed that when I go to pay for an order and copy and paste the bitcoin payment address, the payment address changes when you review your payment before clicking "pay".

Should this payment address change be happening from the vendors payment address to another address for the payment?

I’ve never heard of this before and I’d hazard a guess that it should not happen because it means you’re sending your money to a different wallet.

This could well be some kind of malicious application on your phone or computer. Programs can access and alter your clipboard (where you copy stuff to) programmatically and it would likely go unnoticed. I would get it checked out by someone who knows what they are doing.

Clear this up:

When you copy the address, the address in your paste changes? or the address on the payment page changes?

If the address in your paste is changing, you have a bitcoin virus - a very common one. It will change any bitcoin address copied into one similar.

Most virus scans won't actually pick this type of virus up, so you'll have a hard time finding it unless you know what you're doing.

Yes. I'm copy and pasting the payment address from the littlebiggy payment page into the send box on my wallet and it's changing to exactly the same address when I get to the review payment page.

Any idea how I'd find the virus if that's what's causing it? And is it likely to compromise my account or just when I try and send payments?

If there is something actively changing bitcoin addresses on your computer, you need to run a virus scan using malware bytes. If that doesn't find anything, then it's likely undetectable. You'll have to look into your startup (start menu -> msconfig -> startup) It will say "System Configuration" if you have a newer version of windows, just open the task manager using CTRL + ALT + DEL and the startup menu is in there. Look in there for any suspicious looking programs that begin on startup - if the virus programmer has any brains, the program will not be in there.

I ran malware bytes and and everything was clean.

But the problem seems to have resolved itself after running it and the address I'm copy and pasting is staying the same now.

I guess I'll just have to keep a close on eye on the review payment page to make sure it doesn't start happening again.

3 - peer to peer exchanges are better than centralized exchanges but data saved by the exchange is within the reach of government authorities.

From my understanding, essentially they *accidentally* overloaded the network with hundreds of transactions with insanely high fees (around 500 sat/vB) so miners would rather mine those than our petty transactions. Once they are all mined, fees will be back down.

So to answer your question, a couple days maximum, probably by tomorrow.

Gas fees are around 500 sat/vB currently, which is absolute madness. Haven't seen them this high since the halving. You're hopefully only looking at a few hours before it comes down significantly. Or, it'll stay high. Who really knows?

If you send straight from Kraken/Coinbase and others direct to the wallet on your order page you can be banned from the app if that wallet was flagged.

You can avoid this by sending the funds to your own wallet first, and then to the order wallet. Look for a withdraw or transfer option in Kraken - it should then ask you for the address to transfer to, you'll find this in your new wallet app usually by clicking "deposit".

I've had no issues sending from Luno or Exodus wallets, and had no issues sending funds direct from Paybis.

I've seen a few topics so far asking how to obtain BTC without KYC. I thought I'd make a topic to show a few ways / methods of doing so:

AgoraDesk is a cryptocurrency exchange established in the British Virgin Islands. People from several nations can trade their home currencies for Bitcoin or Monero at AgoraDesk (or call or put options for BTC or XMR).

Echo the thanks for this, really appreciated advice. Not sure if I did it right though cos I lost way more than expected in the process. It shows a flat $2 transaction fee on the majestic bank for BTC but it seemed to work out way more than that, I'm not sure if I did something wrong. Granted most of the losses were in mining fees from the wallet in the first place, but it seemed to be the exchanged rounded up/down quite significantly. Likely me being a cretin but thought I'd pick your brains. Cheers bud

Hey Tony,
Well they ask for KYC, so if they wanted they could theoretically follow the BTC purchased with a card to what wallet it has gone to, so worst case scenario yes.

This can be avoided by putting your BTC through an exchange to XMR then send that XMR to another XMR wallet, then back into BTC through the exchange.

This can be done for a total of 1% of the value of the amount of crypto (0.5% x 2, if you were cleaning £1,000 you'd get £990 back with a clear history, which means it isn't linked to the card you paid for the BTC with.

All in all though this is the paranoid way about it. If you're buying personal use bits I wouldn't be worried, Law Enforcement aren't interested as they have bigger fish to fry.

However if you're a vendor this really should be your security standard as if you're turning your BTC to Fiat (like a good few vendors on here are) you'll ideally want a clean history on your Crypto. You'd be suprised how easy it is to trace your cashflow in crypto. If Transaxe has paid you X amount of BTC there will be a record of the wallet it came from, to where it was sent and you really don't want anyone knowing how much you have going through your wallets.

BTC - XMR - XMR - BTC is the way!

Hopefully this topic gains some more traction so others can follow suit and improve their OPSEC whilst they're at it.

Keep your self anonymous and use decentralised currencies to further anonymise yourself ;)

Completely mate, purchasing off any form of card is linking it to yourself. P2P is the way for purchasing BTC anonymously and with the help of sites like AgoraDesk and HodlHodl, this is now possible and easier than ever before! (Fees when purchasing BTC is highly likely, if you are OPSEC conscious I see this being worth it)

I know this isn't the thing to do, but I usually just buy and send bitcoin from Coinbase & haven't had any issues in doing so.

My network fee is usually around £2, but for some reason today it's £17? Why is this the case & what should I do? I'm only trying to send <$50..

Miners set their fees so that they charge whatever they want for the fastest speed. Transactions like ours are at the bottom of the pool. Imagine what someone trading $50m is prepared to pay for speed?

Aye. Im watching Mempool today completely fucked off. After the last fee spike and the time it took to sort out, im not throwing anymore money into this stressful bs waiting game. Simply cant buy here, and DGT is about the only guy I wish to buy from anywhere. Its obscene that such a great idea is let down by the worst payment method you could imagine. And out of 60€ order I spent 30€ on fees and before I realized it it was too late... Also I was stupid enough to cancel the rest of the order so now I'm asking the Borg if we can undo the canceling and pay(when fees are lower) the remaining amount since these 30€ fees are

Hi, I'm kinda new to all this, and suffering from age (!), but I just paid nearly £90 to buy and then spend £210 worth of crypto!
1: bought £ 210 worth of bc from directly from coinbase wallet - network fee £40 + coinbase fee £9
2: orded on lb
3: Scanned qr code to pay on lb
4: Got charged another £40+ to complete the transaction.
Am I missing something here or is that just where it's at in the present time because clearly it's not sustainable for me?
I feel there has to be a cheaper way (UK based) - any advice gratefully received :)

You would've saved 40 quid going straight to and from coinbase and avoiding the wallet therefore 1 network fee, that's not always advised as your coinbase account can be blocked if you send to the wrong btc address.

Coinbase freeze accounts for AML docs and froze my coin several Xmas back just before the Santa Rally it took 7 days to unlock and I had all my coin in stable so missed the move lost out on around 300k.

I have a wallet with some funds stuck in it. I have been trying to transfer funds out of it but the fees showing up to make any transaction are ridiculous (approximately 70% or more of the funds). I have attempted to reduce fees as I'm happy to wait longer, but when I did that, the transaction did not register/move at all.

The wallet is in Electrum.

The wallet still receives small transactions, which I presume are sent with minimal fees as they take forever to clear. There are currently 4 unconfirmed transactions and 2 unconfirmed parent (whatever that means)

When you tried to send with reduced fees and it didn't work it's cause you need to leave a little in the wallet.
Try sending with reduced fees but don't sent it all, leave a couple dollars in.

If I'm reading this correctly you're trying to send one transaction funded by lots of very small transactions? The fees for this usually are extortionate, so currently they must be mind-blowing. I have a wallet for Transaxe referral payments and this is the situation I find myself in when I want to send funds. Although currently the fees are around $2 to send at 34sat/vB (ish) that's for a simple transaction of 1 large payment being sent. To send that as a payment funded by multiple small amounts usually cost me 10-20x the expected fees, so it was £20ish when fees were about £1.20, so it's probably significantly higher now. I'm assuming that extra cost is the computing power to stitch those things back together again, as the enormous fees still fund at a similar sat/vB level. The unconfirmed transactions are unavailable to send, so take them out of your wallet balance in your head, and you should be able to send everything else.

I think you've nailed it. The wallet I'm referring to is the transaxe referal wallet.

Previously I used this wallet for everything, but after the crypto fiasco earlier in the year, moved main transactions to a separate wallet and kept this for my referals only.

The btc fees settled but this wallet just kept offering ridiculous fees to money the coin.

Will update later if I can get this sorted as you and BBDoom have mentioned by holding some back

I have always used the Crypto.com app when buying through LB, my most recent order was a little over a week ago.
I have tried to purchase again but now Crypto.com are asking for information before processing payment; Recipient's name, their Country and Wallet Type (seems a bit much tbf).

I have very limited understanding of this, but I'm a keen student.

Exodus lets you set fees yourself, and if you just choose the normal fee it's massive (it's a wallet with lots of small payments being sent from it, and this seems to hugely ramp the cost?), but then it clears in minutes. I don't want that. I want to be able to reliably predict the rough amount to fund the transaction so it's as little as possible and can take an hour or more to get 1 of 4 confirmations. Can I/we work this out?

I've attached a photo from Mempool from this week. What am I looking at specifically with regards to these numbers? I can move backwards in this pool as well as forwards as I've watched a couple of transactions while skinning up. Is it linear progression and I'm getting bumped backwards in this queue because of people paying more than me for transactions? Any input and explanations could help me, as I just want to get really fucked up for the least fees possible. Thanks!

Back of a napkin explanation.
Your transaction gets bundled with a bunch of others paying the same and offered to miners for the price you set. The graphic is the queue of blocks that bid different rates and where your block currently sits. As you said, higher bidders push your transaction backwards.
When you get your quotes in Exodus they vary according to the volume of trades in the queue and volume of trades expected to join the queue to give an estimate how long it will take for your transaction to clear at different mining fees.
To pay less, buy when the network is quiet.

Thank you, that's very helpful. So, how do I know when the network is quiet, and how do I know what to set? Setting based on Exodus judging it as low or whatever doesn't seem reliable, and I want repeatable results, ideally.

My last Transaxe payout was sent at 1 sat/vB in fees, so thanks for that payment in a week or 3, guys.

Look at mempool before you order I guess. Rises fast when btc is falling fast is about all I can reliably predict. Like you said, walking away for a few hours usually does the job. Can be days though.

Recently I’ve been getting much better rates from Exodus than trying to pay from Electrum which is also a personal wallet with adjustable fees. I’d love to understand why that is.

It all seems incredibly complicated to me Ruxxy. I am lazy and daft so I click Send on Bitpanda, it takes a couple of minutes to complete and costs around a quid.

This has been the case for 95% of my transactions. When the blockchain is melting down (or up) which is indicated by the change in fees I hold off the transaction but that’s just crypto so it’s the same for everyone..

you can use segwit to send mate.. transaxe actually give you a segwit address to pay (addresses starting bc1). Its when you need a refund apparently they ask for a legacy address.

Just use a wallet that can generate different types receiving addresses... a good one should give the option of segwit, compatibility and legacy

I just tried to send my bitcoin off to pay for a purchase and it is asking me for the full name of the person or the legal entity I am trying to send it to! Hey I got the same message today from a customer that uses luno and he said same thing as you that they are asking for recipients name and wallet destination or something like that..

I told him to write any name and UK or something to see if it works if not ..

Might be another way to bypass that by make an Exodus wallet or coinbase wallet in your name then send btc from luno to coinbase or exodus then from there you should be able to send to littlebiggy to make payment.

Just exchanged the amount of money I need to bitcoin but still I’m having doubts in how the payment works on lb. Im at the payment page on here and it says to send the bitcoin to the address in a externally way, so how does lb know that I already payed for the transaction to end?

The wallet address you can see is unique to your order. LB generates a new one for every transaction. Click on it to copy it to clipboard and paste it into your exchange send order. Your LB order status will change from unpaid to paid when your coin reaches here…normally less than an hour depending on the blockchain…

When you click pay you're redirected to Transaxe, which is the payment processor on LB. Just copy the address and amount from that page. Then you just wait for an hour or so for the funds to be confirmed.

That's quite a high fee. Maybe they upped the minimum send. It has fluctuated in the past. I remember it being €10 last year and €25 before that when the network was backed up with the fee @ £10+

Make sure you're sending to an external wallet from coinbase first and then onto vendor mate or you're directly linking coinbase to an illegit btc wallet. Will cost more in fees inevitably but its bait for buyer and vendor sending from coinbase and will get your account closed sharpish

had to get bent over by coinbase's daylight robbery transaction fees twice today since they wanted £6 in fees to send £80 to my wallet

unfortunately all we can do is just get fucking dicked over by it all because nothing will change on here speaking from lots of experience

even after manually adjusting exodus wallet fees, i had to spend £102 to make a £79 order, that £23 was lost to purchasing fees and transaction fees

exodus wallet does not keep transaction fees, they set them according to network conditions and the fees go to the network operators (miners).

you can override their suggested fees, the lower the slower basically until it's so low that it wont get picked up by the network, in this case you get your money back. a decent risk to take when the network is busy from a price rally since you are going to get more back than you sent in fiat terms.

Huge huge fee's for every one right now its cray cray. Seen miners earned over 50billion in mining transaction blocks. The new age banks incoming digital age. But yes lets hope the fees go down real soon as i want to buy some goodies.

Exodus do have set larger fees but i do not mind paying them generally - it's when its a more global issue every fee is up i tried a few other wallets.

You can also set your fee to really low but a miner but not pick it up and gets held up in the blockchain pending for ages. Pay high fees they get it faster.

I bought some coin at about 12pm today and normally it clears in my coinomi wallet within half an hour.

Unfortunately it still hasn’t cleared and I’ve obviously missed the postage cutoff for some sweet triple filtered hashy goodness. Sad times!

I normally use a coinomi wallet and get coin from btc direct.

When I view the transaction in blockchair it keeps swinging between taking 26 mins and four hours for confirmation.

Any pointers or suggestions? Just wait it out?

Yep, the blockchain has gone mad... they were asking me 60 dollars to send 60 dollars using Blockstream Green. Ended up sending all my BTC for 50 dollars (a lot more than 60 dollars yet I paid less, weird.) to Electrum wallet and started using that, the fees are 10x better and I've saved loads already...

136 sats costs you $85 with Blockstream, got 205 sats for $6 at peak times with Electrum.

I've had loads of customers messaging me about their orders remaining unpaid for ages, even after confirmations... Hopefully it all mellows out soon, delays are never fun.😊

Revolut will let you buy goods today short term cos they'll give you a virtual card once opened and that can take minutes but fees aren't so good but chase offer 1% cashback on spending for a whole year or monzo is good but you'll be waiting days for your card.

I’ve made a couple of purchases on LB (noob) by buying bc via Coinbase & sending straight to vendor - so far,so good. But would it be better to send bc to a wallet & pay vendor from there? Also I haven’t seen an option to input a bc wallet address in the event of dispute/refund, perhaps I’m not looking in the right place. Just want to ensure as much as poss that my order/transaction is secure. If anyone’s able to summarise the procedure or offer any advice it would be appreciated

Hi,
You don’t pay the vendor, your coin goes to LB transaxe and is held in escrow, so in other words LB offers a full transaction/resolution service.

Transaxe creates a new wallet address for every order so you can send directly to that, no problem. In the event of a refund you will need to provide your own wallet address but if you don’t have an external wallet your exchange will provide an address. I don’t know where the request is on Coinbase, normally it’s via Settings. On Bitpanda that I use, you can click to generate an address.

Anyway, I’m curious as to how my escrowed payment gets released - on cannazon I’d have to log in & mark my order as ‘received’ (I miss cannazon😂 like Amazon fr stoners)

Transaxe release the payment to vendors after approximately 16 days. This allows for the dispute period to expire. Some people believe that the coin is released to the vendor once the item is reviewed (and hurry to review even if they haven’t tried the product yet so happy are they to have received it 🥳) but this is not the case. Many argue that this would be a big improvement if funds were released as soon as the buyer confirms receipt and satisfaction.

1 - Binance has a minimum withdrawal of 0.001 BTC (about $47).
2- The withdrawal fee on this would be of 0.0005 BTC (50%).

Transaction fees change by the minute to reflect levels of activity on the blockchain. Bitpanda is generally cheap at weekends, particularly at night. It is then a couple of quid normally, but with that irritating 0.0015 minimum.
It’s pretty fast and easy though👍

I’d imagine that if the price depends on the activity on the blockchain then it’s probably cheaper in the evening over the weekend on Binance too right? Is that kinda how it works?

Alright so in case there's another newbie like me around... I managed to sort this out! I avoided binance's awful fees by sending from my wallet (BRD) and payed only $0.70 in fees.

How do you use the brd wallet ? Is it just like binance ? Buy crypto then send to the required address ? Any help much appreciated!

It’s kinda similar. BRD is a wallet so I think its main function is to store your crypto, but it allows you to buy and sell, transfer, etc . I’ve found that the fees BRD charges are way better than Binance, so definitely worth a shot!

But where do you buy the bitcoins from to transfer to your wallet? Doesn’t that mean you still have a big transfer fee to send to your wallet?

not with binance now the fee charged by binance is returned to your account fully so the fee will only be down to the blockchain traffic and that for me is arond 30p to £1.30 from ledger to LB ;)

yes its new came in a few weeks ago and its automatic and puts it in your funding account its a bit tricky finding it and then covert it back into USDT. this is substantial as the fees were £20 now its free ;)

they now also do free bank deposits but i wont use this feature as i cant see why i sould make their job easy by tracking everything crypto as using this will give them your account details of your binance info so i do still pay a £3 fee via revolut but this way i keep the two seperate

Sorry for the late reply. I buy mine through BRD (which is also my wallet) and their fees have been minimal in comparison to other places I've tried. Hope this helps!

Is bitpanda still fucked for smaller transactions? It seems they have a minimum transaction threshold going.

If you have a small amount locked up by minimum transactions or crazy fees you can:

1 leave it in there as a small investment for a future purchase or two.

2 add more to it to then move all your coins to a wallet with no minimums and better control over fees.

The busiest times and highest fees on the btc network are when the price is going up. If you are holding a little while this is happening you are covering the fees with your gains.

im not sure how the exchanges play this but minimums on the blockchain and fees for that matter are a function of how many inputs are involved.

if your wallet is an accumulation of small amounts of bitcoin (like change in a pocket) thats a lot of inputs and it can make a transaction infeasible when fees are high.
