So the network fee on Coinbase for making a £50/£60 purchase recently was £13 on top - seems a little steep to me. Any advice on how to bring these costs down?
You can't. Fees are dependent on network congestion and/or what people are prepared to pay. Sending last night cost me £12 for high priority, so you're being quoted a fairly 'normal' current fee, but this can fluctuate multiple times an hour. Hopefully it'll sort itself out soon as we're all paying way over the odds currently.
I bought this morning the total fee was £2.98 for the Bitcoin network fee try later on that was around 1:30am check every 5 mins u til it changes.
If you send from a wallet it usually allows you to choose the transaction fee you want to pay, but if the network is congested the fees go up so if your fee is to low it may take ages to go through or not go through at all. if you coin is on an exchange then that won't really help, you just have to wait or swallow the fee
Unfortunately thats the case for everyone due to the network congestion. It should get lower in a few days/weeks
keep Checking the mempool space, if the transaction fees are low then it should be all good to send 👍
I made an order for about $160 and got it for £8.50 fee about 11ish, about an hour later made a $30 order and i was gonna charge £13 fee so cancelled that one

So I’m planning a trip but I don’t want the stress of carrying flower/solid across borders. So never tried the stuff but I’m interested in taking something to vape but i know jack shit about it - what i should be looking for, how much to get, how to take it (just add to my sub-ohm tank & mix with my normal juice?) Can’t seem to find any helpful threads in LB or web generally. I can see loads of options for products but I don’t really know what I’m looking at. Grateful for any pointers….

Just wondering, how would someone hide a massive disposable? And if they get swabbed at the airport and it comes positive for cannabis, they're going to search everything including any disposable vapes. I think this is a bad suggestion.
You need to buy a 510 battery. Dr.Terpy does some really consistent and quality carts buy some of them and just put together and vape. I'd just put them in with my washbag if travelling. I've got a Yocan Ziva battery for extra stealth.
My Geek Vape mod has 510 thread. Could i not use a cart in that? & if so is there a recommended wattage/temp to heat them at?
You want very low wattage you need something that can go to at least 3watts, preferably lower like 2.5w. Your Geek Vape mod most likely won’t go that low. It’ll just burn the cart out.
You’re confusing voltage with wattage. 510 carts are good at 5-10W, myself I leave it at 6W.

Thank you. Yes mine goes dwn to 5w. Some vendors seem to specify particular batteries e.g. Dr Terpy recommends Nectar & CCELL, so I’m unsure if all the ‘magnetic attachment’ chat is significant. Go with one of our carts. You'll be absolutely blasted all holiday. Get a 'kodo' battery, vape on 2.2-2.6w. I'm unsure where you're going to hide a live resin cart though, as they do smell. Well, ours stink at least.

We have both ejuice and a range of different carts. I have travelled extensively with the carts. Never an issue. I generally pack them in my checked in bag.
Our vapes are perfect for travelling, got loads of customers who fly them place to place either in hand held or cabin luggage 👌

Tried to log in yesterday & got directed to a Society page which I eventually realised was a mirror. Couldn’t gather whether this was due to maintenance or LB compromised. Either way, pages would crash & ‘Items’ page was empty on both sites. Still is. (Which is frustrating as I don’t want to search thru every vendor via ‘People’, I just want to view items & see what pricks my interest.) Although I think I’ve managed to make a purchase (vendor seems to have replied to msg) Is this right? Is Items empty for everyone else or is my browser super slow or something? Can anyone offer any clarity? Is it just maintenance gremlins or what?🤔
The outtage was due to some salty loser who thought he could scare everyone with very obviously fake info and DDoS attacks.
Probably some script kiddy messing with things he doesn't fully understand.
All he did was put a target on his back, it's very hard to do a DDoS attack and not get caught these days.
Like others have said though, Tor browser + Society is great if you can't get to LB normally.

I doubt anyone here is smart enough to get around the built in encryption and other systems in place to keep you safe on LB. (most, if not all, identifying data is deleted within 30 days, OR it's encrypted.)

I use revolut as my only bank account. no need for a physical bank account,because i have a mastercard with them,all my earnings are paid into revolut,and did not need any photo id.I buy my bitcoins from them and then transfer them to my exodus wallet.fees are really low also :)

well I did it - all through Exodus, dunno if rates good or not but whatevs. Avoid Paybis, bank accepted it but Paybis rejected every time
Btw. Ive been using the plain blockchain wallet for two years without any issues. Least hassle wallet Ive seen! And since I wont upgrade my OS on my mac its one of the few I can actually use. Just sayin, cause Ive seen how it is hated upon on the net. Guess its the competition that spread this lie.

Exchanges still cant beat the price of btc I get on localbitcoinsdotcom. The only hassle is I need to order btc and go to my local national financial agency and pay a money transfer slip with cash. Thats not a prob tho, cause the teller is a very nice looking woman :P And btc is in my wallet in 3-6 hours after I pay.

Seen this on one of the other platforms not sure if 100% correct but I would be wary of coinbase they are very intrusive closed my account a few months ago. They give details to HRMC depending on whether you’ve spent over the threshold limit.

Yes it’s for everyone, it’s because Bitcoin fees are through the roof at the mo and they are trying to negate the effects. They peaked Tues and seem to be dropping but not yet close to what everyone is used to - I expect it will be several days at least until they remove the restrictions

Hi Philjgrove, it's an interesting theory and would be enjoyable if it's true, but I think it's controversial, of course the conservative Christians wouldn't go with this. I know there is a book on the subject "Cannabis: Lost Sacrament of the Ancient World" by Chris Bennet, also a couple of episodes of podcast "Great moments in weed history" on this subject :-)
Scripture doesn't condemn cannabis but it doesn't condone smoking or being habitually inebriated (your body is a temple, kingdom of heaven not to be inherited by the drunk) but it depends on whether you interpret 'drunk' as relating only to alcohol or having it be a more general term for not being sober. I don't live by the bible but I personally believe God doesn't make mistakes and wouldn't put it here if he didn't want us to use it.

I’ve made a couple of purchases on LB (noob) by buying bc via Coinbase & sending straight to vendor - so far,so good. But would it be better to send bc to a wallet & pay vendor from there? Also I haven’t seen an option to input a bc wallet address in the event of dispute/refund, perhaps I’m not looking in the right place. Just want to ensure as much as poss that my order/transaction is secure. If anyone’s able to summarise the procedure or offer any advice it would be appreciated

You don’t pay the vendor, your coin goes to LB transaxe and is held in escrow, so in other words LB offers a full transaction/resolution service.
Transaxe creates a new wallet address for every order so you can send directly to that, no problem. In the event of a refund you will need to provide your own wallet address but if you don’t have an external wallet your exchange will provide an address. I don’t know where the request is on Coinbase, normally it’s via Settings. On Bitpanda that I use, you can click to generate an address.

It does help. Thank you. I did used to use a Coinomi wallet when I bought on cannazon but when I checked recently the bc exchange rate seemed much more pricey, hence why I’ve just used Coinbase. Anyway, I’m curious as to how my escrowed payment gets released - on cannazon I’d have to log in & mark my order as ‘received’ (I miss cannazon😂 like Amazon fr stoners)

Some people believe that the coin is released to the vendor once the item is reviewed (and hurry to review even if they haven’t tried the product yet so happy are they to have received it 🥳) but this is not the case. Many argue that this would be a big improvement if funds were released as soon as the buyer confirms receipt and satisfaction.
Ah yes, i thought the same. Wondered if i needed to physically mark the order as ‘received’ somewhere. Ta for clearing that up
Your order will remain on your ‘orders’ tab until you review it from your order page, but doing so doesn’t effect payment release👍
