I've finally gotten around to playing High on Life. I'm enjoying having humanity in the palm of my hands a bit too much ๐
In 2013 Jagex who own Runescape found backups of the game before they screwed it up basically, and it was files from 2007.
A small team took over it as a side project and itโs amazing itโs constantly updated and is Oldschool RuneScape that runs alongside RuneScape 3 which is the updated game that has a lot fewer players.

I love Doom Eternal so much. Personally I find you have to stay calm and treat it like some weird racing game where you just rip and tear as you have to keep moving around the course like a race track.

I keep seeing this creep back up on Steam. I played this waaaaaaay back when it was an ARMA 2 mod and it still stands out as one of the most interesting online experiences. Like 99% of it was utter shit, running around an enormous map, janky as fuck zombies, not seeing a single person, randomly breaking your legs and then getting killed by someone you never even saw. But fuccck when it was that 1% it was something really special.
Wellโฆ..funny question. Its never been fully fixed it has constantly been getting fixed and updated and patched and what not. Its looking better than it ever has. If you havenโt played for years you would be shocked as to what its become now. I only play on console but I am moving to pc soon so I can get all the maps that the main streamers play on. On console dayz we only have chernarus and livonia to explore.
On pc you have like a near enough unlimited number of some amazing maps now.
For example, deer isle,
takistan, esseker. Theyre just to name a few. Its quit insane. Never known a game like it ๐คฃ

Ohhh man the map! I forgot about the map. I remember I was working at a place that had a huge printer capable of printing on canvas for construction signs etc.
I printed like a 6ft by 6ft (way bigger than I realised) copy of the map onto canvas. It was absolutely beautiful......and no real help whatsoever aha!
What route you going with on the PC front Finbar? Building or buying? Is the whole graphics card shortage over yet? I'd seriously recomend taking a look at the STALKER mod - Anomaly when you do get one. It feels like the single player ancestor to a lot of these style of games IMO.

Also, the last of us has an online called factions multiplayer. There is nothing like that either. Supply raid is basically a 4v4 each team starts on 20 then it goes down to sudden death potentially. All in all great games if you love the zombie apocalypse scenario. The last of us story mode is the best story I have ever watched. I was guttered when they deviated in some parts from the game compared to the series. It is what it is I suppose haha
If you want a good idea of how you play it so you learn quickly. Watch therunningmanz and fresh spawns. Trust me dude. This isnt just a game. Youll soon realise. Just remember to have fun along your painful journey! ๐คฃ

Love the new Dune. Love Denis Villeneuve - Arrival is a complete charm fest. A beautiful film. His Blade Runner. Oh. My. God. Almost betters the original. Itโs beautiful. And often overlooked - I think (and this is just a stoner theory) because Ryan Gosling is fucking shit. In everything. So if heโs in it. He instantly makes the film utterly forgettable.

I just love Jean Giraud. If you like any science fiction. He invented how what you like looks. From Star Wars to Alien. His hand is in it. To the new Star Wars where you have modern comic veterans doing the costumes talking about Giraud as a big influence.
The Incal is probably one of the best comics ever written. Itโs part of a Rosetta Stone of science fiction ideas. That and Metal Hurlant and the whole European comic scene.
Itโs a wonderful wormhole that will take at least a week to come out of.

I just love Jean Giraud. If you like any science fiction. He invented how what you like looks. From Star Wars to Alien. His hand is in it. To the new Star Wars where you have modern comic veterans doing the costumes talking about Giraud as a big influence.
The Incal is probably one of the best comics ever written. Itโs part of a Rosetta Stone of science fiction ideas. That and Metal Hurlant and the whole European comic scene.
Itโs a wonderful wormhole that will take at least a week to come out of.

I really love this list (huge Ferris fan in particular), and the new Dune is spectacular on a decent cinema or home cinema set-up. Saw Juliette Lewis' band play on a UK tour about 10ish years ago. Glad we went. Friends were so stoned they didn't want to get the train to see the gig.

It's the kind of thing that would make all the misogynistic incels explode due to all of the well written subject matter completely conflicting their world view. For Christmas I would like more financial support to mental health services in the most deprived areas of the UK. Having worked for a service within one of the most deprived boroughs of Greater Manchester for the past year it has now been decommissioned leaving those service users without the support they need. All this whilst the fat cats line their pockets from the hundreds of thousands we have proven to have saved the NHS over this time and the lives we have saved.

I was lucky enough to be part of the DnB scene in the late nineties, early 2000s and listening to this album just brings it all back.
Absolutely groundbreaking music that 23 years later, still sounds contemporary.
First time I listened to it I just couldn't stop replaying the album over and over again. Great times.

the title track mate. he wrote it for his friend nick drake after nick had a mental breakdown, couple years before nick took his own life. check this performance out 4 years after it blows me away. one of the greatest marriages of the performative and creative process, expressed in this ecstatic world of pain that comes out when he sings for his mate.

Seen a lot of albums I agree with here, espicially Stone roses and Pink Floyd Dark side of the moon. Tripping on shrooms, sitting on a beanbag smoking a J while looking up at the stars listening to Dark side of the moon is just the best experience.
