10 days of silence - STFU!
Anybody else tried a 10 day silent retreat?
I discovered Vipassana meditation about 4 years ago, and shortly after went on a 10 day silent retreat, which is basically 9 1/2 days of sitting silently practicing meditation, and then half a day of chatter to decompress before being relesed back into the world. No talking, no phone, no books, no communication of any kind. You're not even allowed a pen and paper! The idea being that you try and remove as many external stimuli as possible, and just sit and practice the Vipassana technique for 10+ hours a day. The experience is different for everyone, we all have our own shit to deal with, but I found it pretty intense at times, but an extremely worthwhile experience. I'd go as far as to say it blew my mind - in a good way. I learnt so much about myself it that time, and dealt with issues I didn't even realise were issues. I've been back for a repeat experience since and hopefully will go again later this year.
Anyway if you ever get the opportunity, I'd highly recommend giving it a go. There are centers all over the world, including a few in the UK. There is no charge, only a donation based on what you can afford, and it is entirely run by volunteers. I guarantee it will change your life.

I did 40 days and nights during lockdown at home. No tv, phone, internet, i even got rid of my clocks and gauged time by the position of the sun- stockpiled food, dmt, salvia, mushrooms, and lots of cannabis, along with solely literature of a spiritual nature-
Torturous for a few days then pure bliss after adjusting.
The only thing missing was a more natural setting. A council flat in London didn’t provide as much absolute silence as i’d have liked. I fancy doing it in the woods or on the moors next time.
