Little grow I’ve started, seeds from a bag of shake I got from the local budman
£30 5 year old LED strips
£15 small fan
Amazon bookshelf
Tin foil

That’s basically it, I’m growing with the equipment I can afford so far it’s all been things I already owned. I don’t expect top shelf bud from this but it’s exciting nonetheless.

This is truly as budget as it gets I’m not sure how this will end up but we’ll see

It’s also my first time!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

To be honest with electricity cost now yours cheaper but got a nice bit of less than 100 Watts

Dont forget to feed them . When the plant is 4-6 stems high tie the top down to create more bud sites .low stress training goes a long way to a better yield . Cut huge fan leafs off as they are not needed once it grows . Im sure there many more but thats the basics for now . Scrog is also a great way to gain big yields . Enjoy and have fun my friend .

Give them a stronger light otherwise you willl be very dissapointed at the end if you'll stick with this setup till the end. Expect 2-3 joints worth of something at best with those lights

Summer is round the corner, you are honestly better off putting it on a window sill and itl yield a lot more than this current setup as the led strip has minimum to zero light output which can be tranferred via photosynthesis, my honest opinion is just whack it on the window sill and youl be more than impressed. ✌️

Always remember the sun light is the best source of light for a plant, I have friends that grow only in the summer and they just put the plants on the windowsill and still achieve a decent yield, and yes bro first thing you want to do when you have money is get a little 600w led or whatever and take it from there but for now imo I say whack them on the window sill and youl be amazed with the results

literally any desk light would do a better job than those led lights.
You can find cheap grow lights on amazon £10-£30 that will be a step up from what you have (still nothing great will come from it but better than those strip leds)

One of my favourite hashes that I’ve had in the last 10years has got to be zombie kush. It was from another website (which is how I found littlebiggy in the first place though their forums) and never used them again since! The zombie kush had a lovely smell, almost lavender to me, tasted great and was very strong!

For a while I was kinda saying it'll be ready before 4/20 but I don't wanna be putting out or squishing undercured materials. I’ve got a bug problem with my grow. Can anybody give me any advice on dealing with fruit flies please? I’ve bought some bug strips and some ‘natural’ bug spray. I’m avoiding over-watering the girls as I know that attracts the little bastards. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sure they are not fungus Gnats (Sciarid Flies) or thrips?
Either way, nematodes are a good natural option to combat major infestations, letting the medium dry between waterings in order to limit larval growth is practice and then dust everything with diatomaceous earth to create an unfriendly environment for the little buggers.

Diatomaceous earth. order a tub! in future mix a small amount in with new soil, and in the case you have sprinkle a thin layer over the top of yor pots and repeat every 2-3 days until 7-10 days after they've gone. yellow traps also, as a visual aid to check the frequency, when they're really gone, and if/when they come back.

Bottom watering to keep the top layer of soil dry.
Also, try adding hydrogen peroxide to your water, this will kill the eggs along with sticky traps around your pot.
I forget the ratio of h2o2 to water so you'll need to look it up.

Canna cure is a good product that's worked wonders for me.

Them long, hanging sticky fly traps, than unravel are mint. Hang them away from the plants abit, just out of direct light

I had this really bad once. Make sure you have some sort of filter on your air intake, even a stocking, I used a sieve. Then buy a bottle of “Knat off” It says add 4ml per litre in every watering but I added 2ml per litre. I only gave them 2 watering of the knat off and they all disappeared. My soil was swimming with the little buggers and 2 applications of knat off and an air filter and I never had those flies ever again. Also if you’re using soil or some other substrate make sure it’s from a reliable source. Also there eggs hatch when you water that’s why it seems worse after watering. I think the knat off stops them from being able to lay eggs and fungus knats (fruit flues) only live for about 7 days at the most so it should clear in a week. Hope this helps 👍

I used to have no end of problems with gnat based bastards, and nothing seemed to work.
The last solution i tried was a thin layer of sand which killed my entire grow, even though i actually tasted a mouthful to make sure it was not salty!
The way i got rid was never, ever using New Horizon compost again, and switching to BioBizz lite mix.

Super crop is really good, I usually just wait until the 8-10th node, chop the main head off and train the rest of the arms to be main heads or il monster crop and get a 100 main heads.

Guide to Monster Cropping

1 Select & Cut: Choose a healthy, flowering female plant (2-3 weeks into flower) and take cuttings from the lower branches, as they tend to root faster.
2 Immediate Care: Immediately place the cuttings in water or dip them in rooting hormone to prevent air embolism.
3 Rooting: Place cuttings in a rooting medium (rockwool, perlite) under a humidity dome.
4 Re-vegging: Once rooted, place the clones under an 18/6 or 20/4 light schedule.
5 Recovery: The plants will grow strangely for 3-4 weeks, producing single-fingered leaves and a dense, bushy shape before resuming normal growth.
6 Training: Utilize training techniques like Screen of Green (ScrOG), topping, or Low-Stress Training (LST) to manage the massive amount of side branches.

Its allegedly the remaining florigen, (cannabis natural flowering hormone) left in the cuttings that gives them that turbo boosted growth and the potential to produce main colas from all upper nodes. Monster cropping combined with the gas lamp lighting regimen on a n.f.t. tank is incredible.

I've never taken cuts more than about 10 days max into flower.
If i do a 36 hour darkness period at the light switch to 12/12, I'll take the cuttings straight away as the growth in the 36 hours is abundant

Sorry, I meant Gas Lantern routine. It gives two lights on phases in a 24hr period during the vegetative phase. Improvements in economy, growth, reductions in stress. Can be followed by 11/13 flowering phase. Its an interesting horticultural rabbit hole. Lots of info to delve into.

Correct brother, during the first 3 weeks of flower is all fine, bottoms preferebly as theyl root up faster, will take an extra weekish or so compared to normal clones, reveg will take about 3-4 weekish but by the time its revegged youl have unlimited ammounts of heads, its also a good way to just keep a mother of the same plant as when it grows itl bush up exactly like a mother without training etc.

Depends on your setup and priorities. Time, space, desired outcome - running the single main stem can results in a big fat cola. For maximum yield & efficiency ( light) in a given space and keeping even canopy then yeah crop.

The top row and left middle are zombie kush and the other 4 are silver grape sherb... not that they're expressing the genetics too much yet.

These are photos, but because I got introduced to growing with autoflowers I always start them in the final container... because of this (and the lights I have) I always find the seedling stage the most finicky. This pic is a few days old but they're officially in veg and starting to have their first explosion of growth so I'm hyped!!

I have a 4x8 tent so the plan is essentially to have 4 plants in each 4x4 space and do some topping when they have a couple more nodes to even out the colas in flower. I'm also gonna put some trellis nets in when flowering starts and do some lollipopping to reduce smaller/more fluffy buds. I got all the time in the world to let these babies do their thing so I'm gonna absolutely ensure that they're as dank as they can be!

Good schtuff! I've never tried LST properly but topping seems to work pretty well at the minute. Similar to you, if I'd started doing it a while ago the yields could've been so much better, but hey ho, all a learning curve!

I'm currently in 3 gallon pots (not sure the litre conversion) and just running advanced nutrients sensi coco veg/bloom with a few extras (b52, big bud coco, bud candy and overdrive) and I tend to just do the water and then damp paper towel thing for germinating. What about you man? I'm just as happy to try and share some tips and tricks as I would be to receive some lol ;)

Smallest ones for flowering are around 12L and the biggest ones are 20L. There's plenty roots and the tops are heavy leaning down by the end. The new flavours were just a test run to see the bud structure before running more.
The gelato cookies grew in 20L pot, bigger plant, lots of smaller buds not massive tops. Exodus cheese grew in 12L pot have big tops.

the sour diesel solid buds 2 more weeks would be overkill the stalks already can't hold the weight, it doesn't come through in the photos how big and heavy they are. I don't know yet the final weight on the new strains

Bud density is not an indicator of maturity dude. I have solid buds at around week 6.
Tricombs and a microscope are the only way.
When the tricombs start turning cloudy, you could chop. Or for a more potent crop, wait till 30% turn amber.

In the extra weeks in late flower you will be amazed by the extra weight gained. If a seed company state 8 weeks flowering, always add at least 10 more days

Yeah that's what I mean at week 6-7 they are so heavy that they lean to the floor so they need support by week 8 they are in the extra 2 weeks, these strains have been grown for nearly a decade and the afghan kush cutting is over 15 years old being a very strong pheno and there are people who religiously buy only that strain.
The new ones are very promising also at least 1 good looking pheno out of 5 seeds, we'll see which ones gonna be the keepers. I got good feelings about that gelato cookies and exodus cheese.

One of the Gelato Cookies turned out to be an auto...it was in a small pot for it's first month and was too late once we figured it was an auto so ended up with this little bonsai tree.

Autos are a great way to learn that 100 days of growing can actually be smoked in 6 hours. It’s cruel but necessary to get you into the ‘12 n 12’ heaven of a 10 oz plant.

The auto scene is radically different than a decade ago. They have them now that finish the same size as photos. I think it was a MAZAR auto I saw.

They don't smoke nice and not very forgiving, I wouldn't recommend anyone to grow autos. This was discovered late when it already started flowering at which point you can't train it anymore but still didn't want to chuck it and lived its life by the side of regular girls.

I've made some mistakes in past grows, and I still wouldn't consider myself an absolute pro, but I've fixed any issues I've had with these gorilla cookies before they've really became issues (growing in coco is some learning curve!). They're starting to smell delicious and the one at the back right, which was the runt of the litter in veg, has that true forum cut GSC smell to it and is due to finish first. I can't really give a time estimate as to when a listing will go up, but what I can say is that good things are in the pipeline!

Hey, sorry for replying so late, I don't know I missed/didn't reply to previous messages.

Yeah man, coco is a bit of a tricky one to learn compared to soil but absolutely worth it... the results for me have been fantastic when everything's done right. I've made more than a few mistakes I'll be honest, but those are easily avoided with the right knowledge and planning :)

100% mate will definitely touch base when the time comes. Have some work and £ to do, getting my environment right before any moves. Been focusing mainly on run-off tests, EC and PH management tbh as they are new to me having only ever tried soil. I like the idea of full control of the root system and what goes in vs what comes out, and seen very good reviews and journals once you get the right light intensity

Sounds good! Yeah, it's great to be able to control it like hydro but with less risk of flooding the place 🤣 like you say it's just about getting that environment and light intensity dialled in

One of the best things about coco imo is that the plants give you REALLY quick feedback compared to soil... literally within hours of feeding they can start telling you if something's gone a bit wrong. EC, PPM and pH are obviously really important, but coco makes it far easier to learn to "read" the plants

For me. The fabric pots are too flexible and root damage is highly possible in the many feedings/movings.
The added rigidity and direct 3mm holes really are superb.

Looking at the leaves you got some deficencies there you might want to dial back on your nutes a bit for the next run.

Nar thats because they are already about a week into the final flush mate.
I also let them get real dry every few days so they use up all of their stored nutes in the leafs and root zone.
Most leafs on the plant should be yellow or dead. Then you can be sure the flush is perfect with a decent white ash.

This method has been bullet proof for me and my set up.

Any normal grow once the tips burn, pull back on the feed. You also need to push your plants to get the most out of them.

Its not just the tips.
That leaf looks like its using up all stored nutes within it.

Tip burn is a very good inducation that you are giving them enough food for sure. My ppm's struggle to get over 0.8 with 2ml per litre more than the bottle says to feed. And thats with Calmag/Silicon/pk/boost/A+B all added

When i was using tap water my ppm's would be about 1.2-1.6

Tap water starts at about 0.6-0.8
Thats around half of your ppm's used up with the shit thats in the water.

Yeah depending in what area you are the tap water will be different. I know that our nutes are fine tuned for the local water quality. A proper RO setup removes too many minerals that you would have to add back to the water.

I'm really happy with how these girls are doing so far! The back 3 are blue cheese and the front 3 are bola mintz. Those weren't gonna be the initial choices but having heard good things about bola mintz (and having a lot of nostalgia for cheese) I thought why not! This is the first time I've tried topping and I don't know why I left it this long! They bounced back really well and now with that, a couple of trellis nets and some lollipopping we should really be able to maximise quality. Tomorrow, the fans will get a quick adjustment, 3 plants will be moved to the left side of the 4x8, trellis nets will be in and the lights will get switched to 12/12! It's still gonna be a while before the chop, but when they're REALLY filling the tent I'll come back with more pics!

The next grow has officially began! I figured I'd go for a more oldschool and well renowned strain, and the northern light autos from RQS seemed to fit the bill perfectly. It's only a 4x4 tent so the yield won't be huge (and will take a lil while!), but I'll do everything in my power to make sure the flower is perfect. A lot of lessons have been learned, a lot of time has been spent researching and a lot of time will go into caring for these 3 babies. They're under a 640w full spectrum LED light, in coco coir and will be fed with advanced nutrients until the flush! After this crop, the plan is to get a bigger tent so that I can list multiple strains with even better quality at even lower prices, and on a much more consistent basis! For now though, let's bloody grow! I wish all biggas a good day, week and month, and if any experienced growers have any little tips/tricks to improve, I'd love to hear them! 🙂

Happy growing mate. I love using these foam ties, they are cheap and make 'low stress training' really easy. I usually trim the foam to pin the stems down with them early on and then use them as spreader bars between stems later in the grow to keep airflow between buds.

Hey boss,
I just want to drop my 2p here as I have grown this exact auto strain from RQS. If you take my advise you should swap this out to a better strain before you put too much effort into it, just to be let down by the results at end like I was.
Autos have much less potential for yield and I ran several auto strains when I started out growing none of which tasted up to today's standards.
I would advise against growing from seed as a beginner because they are a hit and miss. If you heard the term pheno hunting before it refers to growing a number of plants of the same strain from seeds and taking cuttings labelling them and at the end of the grow they choose the best pheno to keep and clone for consistent good quality.
If you insist on keeping the autos I would suggest you start low stress training as soon as you can because time is limited with them.
Once it starts to get bigger strip down all the lower sites so the plant will put all her energy into the tops, this way I got nice looking results but I was always dissapointed with how they smoke. Once I got hold of some fire cuttings my whole game changed for the best :)

They seem to be doing pretty well so far so I'm gonna keep them going, I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate some more oldschool genetics and if the bud isn't up to par it'll be priced accordingly. The plants aren't quite in flower yet but they're really healthy and seem to be adapting well to the environment so I'm just interested to see where they can go. Next run will probably involve a pheno hunt so I'm a lot more excited for that!

If you're into old school genetics , check out The Real Seed Company . They do all sorts of land race from around the world and a few Western classics too . Iv'e grown a couple .The best so far was the Afghan90. The flowers were lighter and leafier than modern varieties , but the skunkyness really lingered in an old school kinda way .

There's no question they will adopt and flower with nice looking buds like all autoflowers. Try to run a non auto of the same strain and see the difference in flavour and effects.
Autos are like a watered down versions of the original strains having the ruderails genetics added to them to make their life cycle fixed.
You will be shocked how much more you can get out of "normal" plants with your setup. :)

Yeah, I get you there, but in all fairness I've had better results from autos than photos so far. It could just be that I've only been growing a year though. The mangos from the last crop were photos and I think down to my own mistake they started flowering too early and didn't get very tall. The bud is pretty nice but honestly not the best I've grown. The best I've done so far has been an auto (choc orange by dr krippling) and honestly it was up there with the best I've had in my life! But the next run will definitely be photos just so I can pheno hunt and get some consistency going. Growing from seed in general has been a bit hit and miss so far

It is for sure a bit of a hit and miss and also some seedbanks are better than others. I wasn't much impressed with RQS but had few from the US with exeptional results.
With regulars you get more control and can veg one plant to fill up your space before flipping to flower. Cleaning the lower sites that get small to no light will give you better tops in both cases tho.

This is them at 22 days from sprout and they seem to be loving life! No signs of any flowering or any major stretch yet so that's a positive sign! It means they can get a lil bit more height before the actual stretch and hopefully fill the canopy up

I'm just gonna let them go straight up, tuck some leaves so the branches/nodes can get good light and separate the bud sites with a trellis net before any buds actually grow. Also gonna cut the really low down branches that'd grow crappy buds. The plan was to do some LST and use the trellis net early on but I figured I'll let them do their thing and get some height before I mess with them too much 😅

At that size I would be tempted to nip out the tips and aim for a more even canopy.
If you do decide to top autos then never cut them just gently part the top and knock the tip out with your fingers, if you do it right the plant won't notice anything has happened and they will bush out big time, losing the main kola gives you the benefit of being able to get the light closer to the canopy.
Whatever you decide to do keep us posted they are looking happy and healthy 👍

I really appreciate the advice but autos just seem to get out of control for me! I think it may be something to do with being in coco and also maybe because I keep feeding veg nutes during early stretch (until bud sites are really forming), OR possibly because I've been lucky with genetics, but I tried running 5 autos in there before and sadly had to kill 2 of them due to sheer size. This pic is the canopy with 3 grapefruit autos in it (grow before last) and that wasn't even the buds at full size!

Good morning, afternoon or evening biggas! It's been a while, but for good reason. For any of you who saw/remember the thread about the Northern Light Auto grow, this is where the babies are at now! They should be getting chopped in the next 2-3 weeks and be ready to list around mid December. These are 2 of the 3 plants, the first one came down about a week ago because she was pretty small and finished REALLY early. There's a lot of airy nugs on her though, so a lot of that plant will go towards making capsules (more on those in the coming weeks). These last two are smelling amazing and have some lovely trichome formation on them. Every penny made from this grow will go towards a bigger tent and hopefully some Rozzy exclusive strains via clones within the next few months! As always, I hope you're all doing well and I cannot wait to get back to LB! Big love to all! 💚

Bit cringe-ely up close and personal, but I'm going to say it anyway - I had parents who couldn't accept that their child had learning difficulties, and moved me from school to school to school during primary /middle school. All this did was make me feel that I didn't fit in or belong anywhere, and as is often the case with stuff that happens during such formative years, these belief systems tend to become hardwired as the blueprint for how the rest of your years will pan out. I've Always struggled with feeling like the perpetual outsider, but not here :))) even on other forums I've been on, say, about my pets, I'd go on them for a few months, and as soon as someone was mean or critical I'd peg it. But on here I have actually been called ridiculous, fake, desperate, attention seeking and honestly I think most of those things are probably true, but when I've come on here, out of my tree tripping my face off and bang on about how much I love this place and my friends here, I totally mean it, and the 'fake', bit definitely isn't true :) And normally hearing stuff like that I'd be gone , lickety - split, but because I know so much that I have some seriously good, REAL friends here, it's not so hard to weather the horrible stuff :))) and I love it here, even though I'm very aware that this place is definitely not all sweetness and light, and let's face it, a place that you really do need to be super cautious in, I've made friends for the first time in a long time, and I love it so much. And thank you Polly for being a big part of why LB feels like a soft spot to land for me :))) °•♡•°🌷🌷🌷

Recommendations for cheap grow tent/compete set up ,I recently got a ts3000 450watt from Mars hydro, I’ve tried to grow a few times but It seem to end up with mold in late flower so I was thinking of some kind of air exhaust/carbon filter also too regulate the humidity?

There is no such thing as a cheap set up mate.
Buy cheap buy twice!!
There is an awfull lot more to growing than throwing a light over them in a cheap tent!
An extraction set up is manditory really,for numerous reasons...First and foremost is to make the whole grow odourless to the outside world!! Secondary is to keep the relative humidity below 50% in late flower to avoid your beloved crop turning to grey mold before your eyes.
I suggest joining a forum and posting your grow up.uk 420 maybe? Lots of experienced growers on there will help you have a successfull harvest.

What else do you have e in your grow kit?

You got a meter that measures temp and humidity. I’d hazard a guess this is the issue.

You can grow without and exhaust fan, I had several crops fine but as stated will stink without a carbon filter, mainly in flowering near end tbh.

However with a fresh air intake at bottom of tent and hot exhaust extraction at top you will get better results.

You can couple the exhaust fan to a temp controller too, I found this would help regulate at night in cold winters.

I managed to sort a whole carbon exhaust and smaller intake with fans and tubing for under 100 quid.

Make sure you got a little circulation fan in tent too, plants will love you for that addition

Smell not an issue in terms of Random’s smelling or your skunk ain’t hit that overwhelming stench 😂

Avoid all in one deals, usually can get cheaper.

Amazon delivered most my stuff including soil lol a bit bait I know but did for years 😂

If growing in soil get ph meter you stick in, can get ones that switch between a few things including ph and wetness - 10 quid or so

Humidity meter / temp - 5 quid

Cheap tent - varies on brand and size - I’d go biggest you can first rather than neeeding to upgrade when you grow monsters lol

clip on fan for inside tent to circulate air (one that can oscillate) 10-30 quid

Key things you need to manage are:

Temps / humidity
Water
Air

Temps - can’t stress this enough!!! Dropping a couple of degrees is fine at night but big spikes will stress you babies

I believe leds ain’t as hot as I used to run hps.

The ONLY reason I had extractors was to manage temp via controller AND smell when peak flowering!!!!

You can get away with opening flaps and fan inside but I’d crack a window for some fresh oxygen.

You can go deep into more automation, nutrients and all that shit later mate.

No ones mentioned pot choice. It does matter.
I used Airpots-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
But messy to water with,but because they have holes in,you can get air to those roots—-I completely by accident ended up blasting the roots with winter uk temps (jan/feb) and the results we’re spectacular.
If I remember right I got 30 oz from a single 600w bulb.!!

Environment is Number one.

Get yourself a hygrometer with min and max facility on it and you'll know what is happening in the tent when you're not around.

With LED's you want about 27c lights on, and no lower than 22 with the lights off. While they are still Vegging, humidity should be around 70% but when in flower you should be aiming for 50%. Probably a tenner from amazon.

You need an extractor fan, probably about a 150mm for a small tent, but this needs to be wired into a fan controller such as an SMS, which will regulate the fan speed depending on what temp is in your tent. When it gets hot, the fan speeds up, and when the desired temp ir reached, it turns itself back down to the minimum. One end of the fan should have a carbon filter on it to hide the smell as best it can and the other end should be vented out of the tent. Not only does this control temps but it also draws in fresh CO2 which is essential to growth.

Next you need a heater of some kind for when the light is off or its particularly cold. Oil filled rads work best. Again, you need a controller for the heater to turn itself off and on as required. G.A.S make a pretty good heater controller for about 50 quid.

These are the most important steps. You could have the best cuttings or seeds in the world, but if your environment is not right, they'll still come out shit.

Search google for Growell or greens horticulture. They do all the bits youll need

If you’ve built a pc, try emulate a tower that has bottom / front intakes - exhaust out your top and back.

If really wanting good intakes - get smaller in-line fan and flexi trunking and seal this to window.

In winter i used to run my spent exhaust gas through the door on the room and into the house.

Saved on heating through winter 😂

Also remember air flow drops drastically with frequency of turns and harsh bends!!!

You can try with a carbon filter but I wouldn't bother, never found one that works. But yes you do need suck all that hot air out of the tent - not push - put the exhaust fan at the exit point within the tent and the other end attach to your light fitting - get a cool tube. And get the most powerful fan you can because you want a powerful suck so that the walls of the tent get sucked inwards, like the opposite of a bouncy castle - this creates the perfect grow environment as well as a few side effects such as killing bugs, they can't live in a negative pressure which is what inside your tent will be if you have the walls going inwards and you shouldn't get any mould. BUT... you still need to move the air around inside the tent and have good air flow over your crop - this will help strengthen the branches and also eliminate mould, end of. To do this get 2 oscillating desk fans and 2 bits of 50cm long bit of timber - turn the fans upside down and unscrew the bottom, screw that to the bit of timber then screw the bottom with the timber attached back on to the fan. Then screw a hole at each end of the timber and get some wire - each fan will be in opposite corners upside down with the wire tied to the top poles of the tent, get them right back in the corner and on oscillate - now buy a timer and plug them both in, put the timer on random times eg 1 hour on, 15mins off, 30mins on, 45mins off, 15 mins on etc for the full 24 hours. This will give you max yields for all the reasons I have mentioned and more. Best of luck.

I've run in both push and pull configs and always managed to get a good seal.

If you've got neighbours of any sort then you need a filter.

Otherwise good advice about keeping the air flowing.

I used to use oscillating fans inside the tent plus the extraction set up.

You just need to replenish air, personally in a 5x5 I would use a 8inch extractor on a speed controller, that way you're covered if humidity spikes in flower. A 6inch should do it tho. intake is kinda optional I guess if your on a budget. defo leave vents open tho if not using a intake.
keep RH below 60% in flower and you should avoid mold. You will need the give your grow area and room a very good clean since you have had mold before. You should also see a huge improvement in yield since they would have been starved for co2 on your previous attempts.

Use airpots,and utilise the hundreds of holes in the design to blast colder air at the roots inside.
I did exactly that during a winter grow that finished on feb 13th- air was freezing !! Biggest crop I ever got from one 600w bulb 30 odd ozs.

If mild is your main issue then you’re not moving enough air out.
This is paramount to keeping the moisture under the required amount.
Get a built in sensor that you can monitor with.
Maybe don’t water til run off when plants get bigger? Just add a bit at a time?

You need a good exhaust system (air out) and your game will change,I’m sure of it.

You won’t have to spend more than £70 for a brilliant extraction unit. And don’t forget about the ‘last line of defence’——the inline ozone attached to that exhaust. ABSOLUTE zero smell leaving your gaff. This is the most important purchase my friend.

Number one piece of advice before seeds, tents, lights, extractors, nutes:

Get a decent air intake ie. cool, fresh air being drawn in from outside. You'll need to drill / bore a hole. Drill 2 holes, side by side and extract your air from the other. The cool air intake should preferably lay close to the floor so that it circulates around and then upwards. Invest in an adjustable fan - that way you can keep temps within the ideal range, even with hot lamps.

I’ve only grown once, as much to see if I could do it as anything else (cost/effort wise, it’s debatable how much benefit you ultimately get with a small grow, but I enjoyed it). As others have said, air flow and temperature were key things for me. And you also mentioned the smell not being an issue. This is interesting, because—done right—it’s going to smell *really* strong. So that filter is a must. I used a Black Orchid (100 mm) extractor fan and a 4inch filter made by a company called Ram. And make sure you’re taking care of them when they’re getting started (I read up on topping and pruning, and it really helped to establish sturdy/healthy plants). Good luck!

I would say also research different strains. Some are more resistant to mold than others.
I used to grow auto flowers and found the ones with a short flowering time like the F1 were far more susceptible to mold.

Couldn’t agree more with everyone! They need to be taken care of like babies ;) Fresh air is difficult especially in winter and humidity when we use heating and all the rain has definitely made us seen a difference and we had to exercise more control. There’s some really top dehumidifiers out there bud but as everyone said spend the money and you won’t regret it as the yield will pay it all off in no time

Hi LB buddy . I plan to grow an autoflower outdoor of my balcony for this summer and think about organic grow .I have few question hope you all can help me out .

1 - Which brand of soil for organic grow ( ? how long it last until I need to add nutrient

2 - What organic nutrient brand should I use ( simple to use is good idea ) or add nutrient by nature way like ( eggshelf , banana skin ec. )

3 - my plant will get about 7 hours sunlight and the rest under 100w mar hydro light ts600 I tend to go for 20/4 light cycle .

- BioBizz has a decent line of organic products, including a ready to use organic soil. The nutrient bottles come with the feeding schedule on the bottles, but I'm sure you can find this on their website too if you wanted to know before hand. Follow their directions and you should be good. You'll need to read the signals your plant is giving off too, and add nutrients from there. There's alot of help and charts online to identify different issues if you run into them.

If you wanted to use dry amendments instead of organic liquid nutrients, check out "Living soils UK" on eBay, they sell bundles with everything you need - minus the soil. No matter what you go with, make sure to use worm castings in your base mix , they are phenomenal for the health and eco system in your living soil. Make sure to use water that is filtered and has 0 chlorine

- I'm only guessing here, but wouldn't moving your plant to different environments every day stress it out? Would it be best just always leaving it under the lamp, or always outside?

Yeah I think about that way may stress the plant , I may have to go 7hours under sunlight but affair that won’t produce anything . I don’t have a setup inside on the light and a small store room .

Agree with the bio bizz, grow and bloom will do an auto flower. Most soils will provide the plant enough nourishment for two weeks. Tropic Mix is good.
Autoflowers require less nutrients than photoperiods and will actually get stressed if you overfeed and overwater. Most bottle nutrients dosage schedules are for photoperiods. You should start feeding an auto at the 2-3 week mark and start with an 1/8th of the recommend nutrients, moving up to a 1/4 and then 1/2 once its well established and in flowering.

Biobizz is great! you can get their soils from amazon!
You will not need much in the way of nute's bud! If you up-pot correctly
germinate in a puck,
when shes got 4 leaves plant the puck straight into a small pot filled lightly with biobizz-light.
when she's on 4nodes up-pot to a 1lt pot still using biobizz light!
wait until 6th node nip it manifold it whatever!
leave a week until recovered!
uppot again 5/10 ltr this time use biobizz all!
2 weeks later uppot into final pot size using biobizz all!
when repotting never show the roots to the light and always sprinkle mycorrhizae (homebase£5) over the root ball and pop a bit in the new pot hole!
At this point if this an auto Its probably showing signs of flowering!
and you still havent used any added nutes!
Flip it, leave for a week then start to add biobizz bloom 1ml a ltr to start!
Keep adjusting this after 2 feeds to recomended dose.
do this for 4-5 weeks then just water with ph'ed water 6.5
I also use (in my water) a water dechloriniser called neutralise(1drop per ltr)
I would also recommend vitalink nutes also available from amazon.
Got to add....I always add silica(vitalink silicon max 1ml per Ltr) to the water for strong windy outdoor conditions as this gives remarkable strength to stems.
and calmag if any problems occur?
Also if you want to cheap out homebargains do sell bone meal, fish and guts fert and a 5/5/5 all purpose fertiliser that does the job!

Pretty sure they were photo. They came from my first/only grow a few years back. Which I found in a bag of weed. Which could have been any number of strains (my memory isn’t what it was).

It kind of all depends on what setup you have and on what you want to achieve if you don't have a grow room and want to keep it in the terrarium you should check out the bonsai plants videos on you tube because it could get big if you dont control it also it could end up being a male. I got some seeds from some free shake I got, and they have turned out to be autos

Personally I’d get a lil tent for 1 plant.

Look up low stress training and scrog.

If done carefully you can get a fat yielding solo baby.

Be warned, when I grew this how I started. Next a bigger tent, then I converted half the pc room to a 4 plant rotation and then you’ll dread cutting day 😂

I have a small greenhouse in the balcony, for three auto at a time, I grow them naturally, where I live is not considered illegal to grow if you do not use expert techniques and are three at most.

three shifts from April to November with an average yield of 30/40g each plant.

I know it’s little but the cost is minimal, effort is zero, risk is zero and the result is good. tops are no dense and a little light in high obviously but I mean..it’s all free from my balcony 😎

Indica strain grow smaller. Minimum size for a closet with one 400watts hps should be 1x1 mt . If this is already to big for your project ... Autos in balcony (totally agree) . PC box is cute but might be disappointing if you harvest 10g after 10 weeks

If you have limited space indica dominant strains will be much butter choice than sativas. Indica strains dont stretch as much as sativas when you flip them in flower, but they are not as vigorous in veg so they need week extra in veg.
Pc box in my opinion it is a waste of time, its not worth to wait over 10 weeks and harvest just few grams. Little tent will be much more efficient.

Yes they responded well just to day light (in the summer). Something to consider is the number of hours of sun exposure they get.

Scrog is an amazing technique considering space and g harvested .

For a small space like asked, check also some pruning techniques like topping or fim.

Autos are good for UK outdoor but problem with them is they dont yield good. I try them few times and I harvested around 15g a plant so a bit disappointing.

You can convert a bedside cabinet easily into a wee grow box. Grow auto flowers in tiny pots.

I have never encountered the scary spider mite, clap a few of those small flys if they're about. But mate a huge infestation among the roots is...not worth thinking about 🐧. Be cool to have a nice spider web across a branch or two - don't worry i'm not a vendor

might have to try this!! Ive had to throw a whole grow before as the bud was covered in the little fookers! Would growing in coco rather than soil help?? Ive only ever done soil but very tempted to try coco !!
