No is the short answer. It’s not more harmful
To make alcohol, which to me is probably the most destructive drug of all, illegal, would be almost impossible, governments tax and rely on it for this, its big business, as is tobacco though that I believe is diminishing somewhat, there is a large infrastructure around it, many people’s livelihoods rely on it too and the human race consumes it like no other drug.
Now to make weed legal is happening in places, but it will take a long time for that to be on a global level like alcohol. I believe it will come but how that will transition is anyone’s guess. Perhaps in a couple more generations, when the people who are currently in charge have passed, the shift will happen and be more significant. I also think the political systems needs to change. Why are the politicians and lawmakers always so out of touch. And who knows, maybe at some point in the future alcohol might go the other way, after all it destroys lives, but then so do many addictions if they get out of control
