I'm aware of that, it's a black market. I have my opinion on some services and products offered but my opinion does not matter, nor does the opinion of any other individual or entity.

It's the sum off all opinions that will cause self regulation. No product or service causes harm on it's own. It does when an individual decides to either consume a substance or use a service that can cause harm. In fact black markets as TR reduce the harm inflicted upon the global population through e.g. 'the war on drugs" that does anything but harm reduction.

For sure it's not perfect, perfection comes through evolution and darknet markets are a recent phenomenon that will follow the same path. In my assumption we are going to see darknet markets that sell regular goods and services as a direct competition to the capitalist system in place. They are the exponent of Agorism: they deprive governments from resources.

Conflation?

The agorist society to which we are evolving through technology self regulates through various services provided by the market that tackle this fraud. And there are various: white hat hackers, grey hat hackers, the anonymous collective ... that already do. Pedophile content, hate, terror, racism, corruption is hunted and has been countered.

I'm guesstimating but maybe the overall perception on the fractional banking system is that low, that no real services sprout. So for now it would appear that the market does not see it as high priority issue.

As always, the real story is a bit more complex then what e.g.. DeepDotWeb makes out of it. The problem is that a lot of people, even tech journalists, don't have the technical knowledge nor do they know the culture on the darknet, let alone stand the actors.

I have been following and using some dark net services, even before the first SilkRoad. I'm a data cruncher that uses the web as my test lab, using information sources which are publicly accessible. I have a bunch data scraping tools, that basically visit all these sources and that stores the data I want. A whole bunch of data is a dataset.

Datasets are fun. Especially when combined and using existent or self invented algorithms. I'm not going to explain in detail, there are whole books on this.

So the TradeRoute. TR started as a relatively small black market that seriously expanded when Alphabay got shut down. Alphabay, as we all know has been shut down. The owner committed suicide in Thailand. Prior to the shutdown, Dutch police had already taken over Hansa Market which was where most Alphabay vendors and customers went. Hansa was a giant flytrap for anyone that did not go 100% in Opsec.

Next in line was Dream Market, although it had a substantial amount of users, the market and forum was a paradise for scammers. And it wasn't really the best user interface. The continuous rumours that it had been infiltrated by LEO did not help much either.

So TR, which had a decent UI and management of site and forums, dethroned Dream quickly. The TR admins were not exactly the best when it came to security. But they did have a bug bounty program. Somewhere in May, this year, a known blackhat, of which the name I can't disclose, did a full security audit of their stuff. That audit unearthed a bunch of exploits, that were not that critical but which needed to be fixed. Some fixes required adding certain components and reconfiguration of existing software. So the TR infrastructure needed downtime to deploy these.

For some reason they stopped at 70% or something. The things that needed downtime were never implemented because the market was growing too fast and there was literally not a second in 24 hours where they didn't have thousands of users online. When they finally took the decision to bring the market down for maintenance. Team DDOS struck the dark net. And there is no fix for that DDOS. It's a design flaw in Tor, it's shit easy to DDOS a .onion website if you know the

Depends what you consider as 'safe'.

As rule of thumb, for anything that involves private communication:

If its proprietary, closed source, for profit and Freemium. Then the profit is the user. Through either advertising or by selling various types of data. Up to custom experiments with some algorithms to see what user behaviour it triggers or stops. Most don't realise that every move you make on the web is yet another experiment inflicted on you to measure response. The whole web has become some sort of human behaviour test lab. But that's another story.

So Discord, with the info I found, does qualify as 'safe' to use to chat with some friends, but anything but 'safe' for prying eyes. Its all vague, some claims are made on security but none of it is backed up by any evidence. Companies that do this are the ones that get breached first. If you develop a software and make claims on security, what would be the reason, not to have that claim, backed up by an independent research?

I honestly didn't even know that it existed, first time I hear about it.

Somebody set you off on the wrong foot. Offensive hacking is also used to check if the security framework in place is sufficient to withstand an attack. Or to identify possible problems that would facilitate a black or grey hat hacker with illegal/malicious intentions.

Because the minute you connect something to the internet, the first attacks will follow soon. There once was a time that the volume of these attacks was rather moderate. Now you get a couple of hundred to millions of attempts every day, depending on the size of the whole infra.

States think that they can hack or intercept whatever or put filters in place to prevent access to content if it does not fit whatever agenda. They also like to register you as much as possible: on video, with an electronic ID, biometrics. That stuff combined with everything you created for fee on some social something, that was also keeping your location, phonebook and know all your friends. Then you have the copyrights sharks that prefer to deny fans access to music because not profitable enough with their set of filters and fines. Another chunk of interesting data, musical preferences, who's listening to what.

As anyone hundreds of registrations or subscriptions for something on the web, left a digital trail of passwords and email, or even your home address. Without any doubt a couple or dozen or even more were once hacked or 'accidentally put online'. Large multinational corporations of the type that was against 'ethical hacking' as Sony. Well at least we know why :-) And if you think it can't get any worse: dive into the world of 'smart' devices and the ....:drumroll:..... internet of things, a free botnet/swarm of broken by design, no longer supported, no longer updated or default configured devices. Those things create various opportunities to fake an identity or to rob data off all devices near that cheap 50$ Chinese NAS that had scans of all ID and credit cards + the letter from the bank with the PIN and the family foto album and a week later a notice that somebody used your card in an ATM in Zanzibar, somebody logged on to your bank account and changed in which country your card can be used and set the amount to withdraw to the maximum.

Howto: Multi Tier, Multipath and Security Hardened Access To The Tor DarkNet

When extra security is needed through physical separation or a multi tier topology, that helps preventing correlation attacks by large adversaries that might reveal your location, other solutions are needed then the Tor Browser Bundle. And that is not all, TBB is software which may contain unknown attack vectors that could allow access to your system that contains sufficient information to ID and locate you. One successful attack is enough.

Technology always outpaces legislation or regulation and countermeasures invented are bypassed rather easily. The human mind is creative :-)

What do you need?
===============

A recent version of VirtualBox (Free)
A copy of the installation ISO for Whonix Gateway
A copy of the installation ISO for the OS that you will use to access Tor and do all your other darknet related stuff. In the following list, you will find several choices that can be used as operating system. The lowest rankings are the least secure.

-Whonix Client OS (latest stable)
-Tails OS (latest stable)
-FreeBSD (latest stable)
-Devuan (latest stable)
-Debian (latest stable)
-Ubuntu (latest stable)

Once you have downloaded Whonix Gateway and your OS of choice, fire up VirtualBox, mount the downloaded ISO's as OS installation CD, each in a separate, dedicated new VM.

*Tip: Change the format in which your HDD is store to VDI, so you can modify the size afterwards.

Install Whonix Gateway (very easy, just follow the install wizard and you will be fine. For your network interfaces, you will see that there are two. One which will act as gateway to the internet for the multipathed Tor Daemons that are only accessible via the second interface (named: Whonix).

Visually your network flow looks like:

If you are really paranoid, you can cascade several Whonix Gateways between the first and last Gateway that is used to connect your Client OS VM.

The amount and type of interconnect between Gateways is only limited by your imagination:

-Send all internet traffic from the last gateway over a vpn provider.
-Put your Gateways spread over multiple physical locations in the Cloud (VPS) and interconnect over ssh or vpn tunnels or dark fiber for the wealthy with or without Tor. Whatever connection that supports tcp/ip networking is just fine.

For those requiring a multi tiered configuration for hosting a dedicated server, site, shop or application. Do not use the setup proposed in this article. Although it should handle it conceptually, it's not optimised to handle larger loads nor has any extra security measures needed in case of
attacks, hacking attempts and/or DOS/DDOS mitigation.

When I first get a bag of weed it is like heaven. I usually get a new pipe, bong, even lighter or at least I clean the old shit for I am entering the gates of Heaven. And that's totally where I am, especially if it is good stuff, it's like for days nothing can go wrong.

About 10 days later at best I'm starting to get seriously diminished returns like to the point where I'm smoking it just to barely hang on to what I had and even more not to collapse.

When does it ever stop at a "dose"? The OP is right; an understanding of recent history would remind people of a lot of things:

1) Times are fucking good right now, add up all the terrorism we freak out over and you have a half hour during World War II.

2) The atrocities against civilians by Whites and Asians was far worse than what a few Arabs are doing now and had a lot more support from the general population.

3) Fascism requires worship of the state and that makes war inevitable.

I have had too much magic mushrooms, an overdose technically is too much not necessarily death. It was about 7 years ago, I was picking liberty caps early in September and over the course of a few days I took a lot of low strength ones and on the fourth day I must have had enough. I was washing dishes and I just felt dizzy collapsed and hit my head off the bunker, I got right back up and walked 5 feet to the couch~~ thinking that would help, then my stomach went to reject, so I ran to the bathroom about 10 feet away, I was told I then got my head off the sink in the bathroom, which I do not recall, I was sick twice and recovered fast back to a normal mushroom trip.

As well in the US and UK as in any other country where it was present.

Not to anyones surprise, as they bribed, blackmailed or killed any nuisance. As soon as their 'services' became more of a threat then an asset, it was shutdown and billions evaporated.

One of histories biggest scandals that involved a lot of prominent people. After being shut down, there were multiple fires in the location where all evidence was stored. A location that was chosen for its high security. The rest of the evidence is buried in Abu Dhabi if not destroyed over time.

And for sure it isn't any different today. Afghan poppy farmers, landlords and warlords selling opium or even heroin are allies against AQ/Taliban so left alone.

The instability and conflicts in the Middle East made life a lot easier for the syndicates while creating a booming market for synthetic stimulants to spoon feed 'rebels'.

Research chemicals that mimic the effect of various illegal drugs became legally available and have proven to be very difficult to regulate. Some of them have turned out to be very bad ideas that had many side effects in long term use. Much worse then the illegal counterpart, sometimes even highly lethal. The global use of cocaine keeps on increasing as its availability. Became cheaper over the years while purity remains high. Annual confiscations show rising trend in frequency and amount found.

Whatever party drug, psychedelic, dissociative and stimulant has decreased in price while, where applicable, potency increased or even doubled. Availability is high and use is quite socially accepted in a lot of cultures and subcultures.

Cannabis and hash, appears to be rather constant in demand and number of users. Prices increased a lot when Holland tightened certain regulations and growers got more and more hunted by police. Although we have coffeeshops, a lot of people buy their stuff from home growers or grow their own.

Peter Thiel is the shit bag responsible for PrayPal. So the creation of super humans that control the earth in some right wing dictatorial utopia will be superseded by massive economical changes, a shift in power from centralised to peer to peer and a complete overhaul of anything concerning taxation and renumeration.

Cryptocurrencies are gradually eating the foundations of the fractional banking system. The higher their price, the faster this process will continue. Once both reach par in annual turnover prices of crypto will be 100 or even 1000 times what they value today and the whole system will collapse, due to underfunding.

For sure there will be various attempts to curb it but they will all be useless. No regulative process outpaces technological advancement.

During this transformation a lot of wealth will be redistributed. It will be a time where ones (old fractional) assets will devaluate and/or disappear due to liquidity problems in the companies that house or manage them.

Ultimately societies will turn against their rulers as they fail to govern due to massive financial losses and historical debt.

There will be a new French Revolution leading to a society where freedom, equality and brotherhood, a maze of peer to peer transactions will replace the feudal and neo feudal power structures that inherited their wealth from their predecessors that stole it, corrupted it or took it by force.

Having had a good idea once or being an early bird with some service does not make one more intelligible or superior in whatever way. Hopefully anyone working for Peter will some day push that button.

Not much, really. Anyway you look at it human lives are equalizing with little regard to income, let's start with appearances:

In old human times the richest person was fatter because he could eat more. Today advanced poor people are the fattest on earth because food has become so plentiful. The healthiest eaters are the rural poor and the urban rich, both eating organically.

As far as covering their fat with clothing, disparities have also dissipated. A couple of centuries ago even colored clothing was a luxury as dyes were a semi exotic luxury. The richest people would wear elaborate gowns and the poor people colorless rags as even basics like cotton were a big expense. Today everyone from the poorest village in africa to the most exclusive spot on the Riviera wears jeans. The richest enjoy a slight difference in fabric and a different name sewn on the pocket.

Leisure time use to be province of the rich, today they work more hours than the middle or lower income classes. And what of their time off? Travel used to be exclusively for the rich, most never left their town, now most people on earth can afford to reach nearly every spot on it. But this matters less as nearly everyone spends their time looking at screens and the rich have no advantages over billions of ordinary people.

It's a basic fact of math: if the poorest person's income is bound by zero and the richest's by infinity things should naturally spread out over time, it's not an inherently bad thing but rather a reflection of a world progressing. As this happens living standards also increase and technology rolls out advances to more people faster, so fast and so ubiquitous that the rich have lessening practical advantage from their wealth even as it grows further from average incomes.

European countries had deep pockets full of cash and hardly any debt through their colonies in Africa etc.... It was a golden age. In post colonial times various International conflicts (Afghanistan war / Oil Crisises / Vietnam) gave the global economy a huge blow.

Meanwhile Nixon decided that USD value was no longer backed up by a national gold supply but through the GDP which was adopted by other countries later on.

Global debt exploded from then on and multiple economical crisises followed which were solved by manipulating the monetary system so that whatever insolvency or budgetary problem was fixed by printing more (no longer backed) money.

That story ended in 2008 as the financial institutions that fractionally stores your holdings, became that greedy and reckless that several went bankrupt or needed government funding to survive (though nationalisation of their debt). Every citizen became holder of debt and those responsible for the mess from trader to executive management got away with it and received huge bonuses.

I always compare the current situation with the feudal era that ended in 1789 with the French Revolution. Royalty and such were awarded with leadership that was transferred onto them by their ancestors. Royalty, in a historical perspective, originated from tyrants and warmongers that suppressed, even tortured their citizens or used them as slaves through religious justification by the Roman Church. People were uneducated and feared Clerics.

The whole bunch united themselves and even attempted to maintain there genes by inbreeding. Till that inbreeding caused that much degeneration that fresh genes were needed.

After the French Revolution some dire times followed but the industrial revolution gave them an opportunity to adapt to the changing society. Royalty found new partners in a growing number of rich industrials which were given Royal titles. Large monopolistic and nationalised companies emerged that provided services to citizens. Railway, Weapons, Utilities, Communication, Radio and TV to name a few.

These government corporations provided a lot of jobs which were well paid and provided several advantages over regular jobs in private companies. But politicians like happy voters and althou

All economic classes are at least ABLE to accumulate wealth as never before in history. The disparity arises from good things, not bad. The wealth/income gap GROWS in a healthy economy (talking about the U.S. here, so don't argue that some other country doesn't have opportunity). The reason the gap grows is because there's no upper limit, and the lower limit stays virtually at subsistence level. People at the top aren't going to stop working and earning simply because those of us at the lower limits decide that we're happy with less. Anyone who argues that the gap is a bad thing doesn't know diddly about economics (or has a socialist-type agenda that they're pushing).

A: Anonymous is kind of like the big buff kid in school who had really bad self-esteem then all of a sudden one day he punched someone in the face and went, "Holy shitI I'm really strong!" Scientology (one of Anonymous's first targets) was the punch in the face where Anonymous began to realize how incredibly powerful they are. There's a really good argument at this point that we might well be the most powerful organization on Earth. The entire world right now is run by information. Our entire world is being controlled and operated by tiny invisible 1s and 0s that are flashing through the air and flashing through the wires around us. So if that's what controls our world, ask yourself who controls the 1s and the 0s. It's the geeks and computer hackers of the world.

Q: What does it mean to be a leader of a leaderless organization?
A: We don't sit around and elect a president but that doesn't mean there aren't leaders within Anonymous. Naturally Commander X or Barrett Brown or Peter Fein, whether they have names or are still anonymous, they take a leadership role and are looked up to. The average Anon is not like me, working 12 hours a day dedicating their life to this. He's an IT guy or a cable installer with a few hours to spare and he wants to be told what to do. It takes organizers to get things done. Anyone in Anon can be a spokesperson but my ability to speak is based on how much what I say squares with the consensus of the collective.

Q: It seems like there's a war going on between hacktivists or information activists and law enforcement. (At least 40 alleged members of Anonymous have been arrested around the world in the last year.) Who do you think is winning right now?
A: I think it's a stalemate at the moment. I think eventually we'll win. I've always believed that right will always prevail. But at the moment the arrests have had a chilling effect on the movement. For a 30-minute online protest I'm facing 15 years in a penitentiary. For the moment that's the only indictment against me but I expect there will be more. And it's not just about the potential penalty but it's the trial itself for which they delivered a terabyte of discovery. That's about 150,000 pages for a 30-minute protest. That means my trial will be two years long and during that time I'm under strict surveillance by the FBI. I can't access Twitter, Facebook or IRCs (Internet Relay Chats)¿ I can't contact any known member of Anonymous, who are about 50,000 people around the world.So basically it shuts me down as an activist. Even if I prevail in court, I'm still shut down for two years. Well, I'm unwilling to do that and that's why I'm in Canada. In Syria and Tunisia, Libya, Egypt in Nigeria in the Ivory Coast, we have saved so many lives I can't even count activists and journalists and bloggers and people who come to us to keep themselves safe in these extremely hostile environments and I'm unwilling to lay that kind of work down.

Q: Now that you're in Canada for the foreseeable future, do you feel relatively safe?
A: Yes. We have a lot of contacts in the Canadian government. We were well prepared when I came here, we have an underground railway, and safe houses in Canada. We might be wrong, but our understanding is that the Canadian government is about equally concerned with Anonymous and the United States. Their approach will be: Step lively, don't stay long, and you'll be fine. So we're in negotiation with several countries in Europe to try to get a permanent political asylum situation set up for myself as well as for any other Anons and information activists who might need it. It's too bad Canada will not find the political courage to protect information activists from America like they did in the 60s with the draft dodgers. That's the reality of it, but they will probably not actively seek to track me down.

Q: Do you think the general public is not concerned enough with online surveillance or real-life surveillance?
A: I think the general public is beginning to learn the value of information. To give an example, for a very long time nobody in the U.S. or the world was allowed to know the number of civilian casualties in Afghanistan or Iraq. There were wild guesses and they were all over the ballpark figures, until a young army private named Bradley Manning had the courage to steal that information from the U.S. government and release it. Now we know that despite their smart munitions and all their high-technology they have somehow managed to accidentally kill 150,000 civilians in two countries. As these kinds of startling facts come out, the public will begin to realize the value of the information and they will realize that the activists are risking everything for that information to be public.

Q: What do you say to people who believe Anons are just cyber-terrorists?
A: Basically I decline the semantic argument. If you want to call me a terrorist, I have no problem with that. But I would ask you, Who is it thats terrified? If it's the bad guys who are terrified, I'm really super OK with that. If it's the average person, the people out in the world we are trying to help who are scared of us, I'd ask them to educate themselves, to do some research on what it is we do and lose that fear. We're fighting for the people, we are fighting, as Occupy likes to say, for the 99%. It's the 1% people who are wrecking our planet who should be quite terrified. If to them we are terrorists, then they probably got that right. I think eventually we'll win. I've always believed that right will always prevail.Information terrorist is a funny concept. That you could terrorize someone with information. But who's terrorized? Is it the common people reading the newspaper and learning what their government is doing in their name? They're not terrorized, they're perfectly satisfied with that situation. It's the people trying to hide these secrets, who are trying to hide these crimes. The funny thing is every email database that I've ever been a part of stealing, from Pres. Assad to Stratfor security, every email database, every single one has had crimes in it. Not one time that I've broken into a corporation or a government, and found their emails and thought, Oh my God, these people are perfectly innocent people, I made a mistake/

Q: Anonymous started out as online pranksters but has gotten a whole lot more serious in the last two years. What happened?
A: I believe Egypt was really a turning point for us emotionally in Anonymous. Obviously there was always that sort of prankster edge to us. But people often ask me "Why are you so mean nowadays?" It started in Egypt, when you work for days to set up live video feeds and the first thing you watch through those feeds is people killing your friends with machine guns, that becomes personal. And then it's not just Egypt, it's Libya, Tunisia, over and over again these Freedom Ops are really what gave us a sort of take-no prisoners attitude. We get to know these people. It may not be the same as you and I sitting here, but when you Skype with people and spend hours and hours talking with them on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and they share their hopes and their dreams with you for their country, their future, when they tell you how they're risking their lives so their children can have a better future in some far-off land, you bond with those people and they become your friends and family.

Q. What's next for Anonymous?
A: Right now we have access to every classified database in the U.S. government. It's a matter of when we leak the contents of those databases, not if. You know how we got access? We didn't hack them. The access was given to us by the people who run the systems. The five-star general (and) the Secretary of Defense who sit in the cushy plush offices at the top of the Pentagon don't run anything anymore. It's the pimply-faced kid in the basement who controls the whole game, and Bradley Manning proved that. The fact he had the 250,000 cables that were released effectively cut the power of the U.S. State Department in half. The Afghan war diaries and the Iran war diaries effectively cut the political clout of the U.S. Department of Defense in half. All because of one guy who had enough balls to slip a CD in an envelope and mail it to somebody.Now people are leaking to Anonymous and they're not coming to us with this document or that document or a CD, they'te coming to us with keys to the kingdom, they're giving us the passwords and usernames to whole secure databases that we now have free reign over. The world needs to be concerned.
