The world today
Scares me yano, the world today.
Like most of you I have important people and responsibilities. I have a baby nephew, a cat, a family, the important things.
The cruelty of this world, it’s sick. In the past month, I’ve had my neighbours dog bite me with not so much as an acknowledgment. I’ve seen injured pigeons that I’ve tried and failed to help. Now I’m sat in Wetherspoons on Blackpool prom, this couple are feeding seagulls and saying “fight, go on, fight”
Pigeons are classed as vermin, as I’m sure (but not certain) that gulls are, but they’re still creatures. Should they suffer in pain? Imagine you being left to rot in pain, not being able to talk or communicate how you feel, completely helpless.
People leave these animals to suffer, in silence while they go to sleep at night, some contributing to the problem by spitting chewing gum on the ground or intentionally maiming an animal. Why? Lack of thought maybe?
I honestly can’t wait to leave this world behind. There’s a lot of good, but there’s also so much evil.

All birds, including Pigeons and Seagulls are incredibly intelligent, brilliant animals!

I actually have a friendly Seagull that visits me every night and chills out on my windowsill about a foot away from me! really funny little character actually he is, puts a smile on my face every time, can't say the same about most people these days

I couldn’t agree more, sickens me how they’re classed as vermin but take rats for example, less people like rats than like pigeons. The point of my post was, any animal suffering, in my eyes is wrong.

And yet the world keeps spinning. You seem to be on a major downer, concentrating on the bad stuff will just keep you down. Think positive. There has and always will be bad people / arseholes in the world doing bad things, that’s fact, don’t give them power by thinking about them. Having said that, from what I hear Blackpool isn’t exactly the hub of niceness…no offense blackpoolers. Maybe get out of that town for a bit…
That’s true. I can’t help but concentrate on the negatives but I’ve had a few drinks and got confident and thought if I can at least make 1 person think to stop and help and injured animal, I’ve done something right.
I’ve been coming 20 years. Only here for the night. Unfortunately it’s gone down hill but it needs a lot of resources and support to get it back to what it was.

Empathy may be in short supply these days, but remember that it is always there.
Some people will always care, no matter how many choose not to, or are too busy to notice.
Plus, the thing is the world is a beautiful place and humans are capable of wonderful things, try not to forget that in the day to day.
