“When I proposed the theory of relativity, very few understood me, and what I will reveal now to transmit to mankind will also collide with the misunderstanding and prejudice in the world.

I ask you to guard the letters as long as necessary, years, decades, until society is advanced enough to accept what I will explain below.

There is an extremely powerful force that, so far, science has not found a formal explanation to. It is a force that includes and governs all others, and is even behind any phenomenon operating in the universe and has not yet been identified by us. This universal force is LOVE.

When scientists looked for a unified theory of the universe they forgot the most powerful unseen force. Love is Light, that enlightens those who give and receive it. Love is gravity, because it makes some people feel attracted to others. Love is power, because it multiplies the best we have, and allows humanity not to be extinguished in their blind selfishness. Love unfolds and reveals. For love we live and die. Love is God and God is Love.

This force explains everything and gives meaning to life. This is the variable that we have ignored for too long, maybe because we are afraid of love because it is the only energy in the universe that man has not learned to drive at will.

To give visibility to love, I made a simple substitution in my most famous equation. If instead of E = mc2, we accept that the energy to heal the world can be obtained through love multiplied by the speed of light squared, we arrive at the conclusion that love is the most powerful force there is, because it has no limits.

After the failure of humanity in the use and control of the other forces of the universe that have turned against us, it is urgent that we nourish ourselves with another kind of energy…

If we want our species to survive, if we are to find meaning in life, if we want to save the world and every sentient being that inhabits it, love is the one and only answer."

We would be delighted to hear your thoughts on Determinism and Free Will and whether they can co-exist. :)

I'm a deterministic guy. For me, although we may think we have free will, the truth is that our brain will always react the same way to a specific set of instructions and/or sensorial input. Our brain receives information, analyses it and sends an output. That output will always be the same, for the same input. There are those who believe that, due to the quantic nature of the universe, there is a statistical probability for a change in the brain output, but I don't think that it applies to such a complex organ

In a materialist universe, what would "free will" even mean? That thoughts are somehow *not* produced mechanistically by a material brain according to specific (if unknowable) physical laws? That thoughts are independent of their cause, the physical brain? Because if thoughts *are* produced by the physical brain according to specific (if unknown or unknowable) physical laws, we might not be able to *predict* exactly how a brain will produce a thought or make a decision or whatever, but that inability is only a function of our cognitive limitations.

If thoughts, decisions, etc. are not rigourously determined by the physical brain then sure, we might have "free will" - but that sounds a lot like religion or mysticism to me. Have at it, be religious or be a mystic but don't expect me to join in with your mumbo jumbo.

And compatabilism, philosophically speaking, is if anything weaker even than free will - I've never encountered a compatabilist argument that isn't shot though with holes, wishful thinking and bad reasoning.

I had a friend who argued from quantum theory but, even if that has any bearing, you're only introducing *chance* which is as antithetical to free will as is strict determinism.

This is something I've pondered. My theory is our brains are quantum computers that decipher the universe. Let's not forget how our observation and perception actually changes the make up of the universe. We know that energy/matter are interchangeable and that particles can behave as waves. Diagrams of particles are shown as circles, these are spheres of probability - where we think the particles may be. We know that what we perceive as solid physical matter is 90% empty space. Therefore, our brain instantly calculated the average location of every particle in a structure to perceive it. This could be in an infinite number of ways so we see one version of infinite.

Let's have a look at bit of history:
1) Reconquista of Spain - overcame the previous more liberal Islamic Al-Andalus. Explusion of Jews & Muslims
2) The cultural rape of the Americas - effectively extinguishing the native way of life
3) All of those European wars which were pretty much Catholics vs Prods (Prods as bad as Catholics in this case)
4) More recently - at a time of AIDs and other STDs saying use of condoms 'evil'.
5) Messing up the psyche of its followers by seeing sex as dirty
6) A great place to work as a preist if you don't like adult women and prefer to have sex with under age boys and girls.

There's nothing wrong with having limited spelling and grammar buddy, but I struggle to understand why you would come on here claiming "wisdom and knowledge" given to you by some dark force when you can't even spell the words properly....

I know nothing about open heart surgery, so I'm not going to claim I have "specialism in the field" when it's very clear I don't.

Wisdom has nothing to do with education, but to claim you have wisdom AND knowledge, because you worship the devil...

Yet you can't even spell 'knowledge'...

I don't like Anne Widdecombe at all, but from what I remember from this debate (I watched it a few years ago) she switched from Christianity to Catholoisim because of the amount of hypocrisy in the C of E.

Now don't even get me started on the hypocrisy in the Catholic Church, but I must admit I do somewhat sympathise with the point she was making.

You can't have a religion based upon a book that says "we don't agree with homosexuality" then just ignore that view because it's no longer popular.

It's like the Christian Church is now willing to ignore any of its doctrines just to remain "relevant", and get some likes on Twitter.

If you're going to be a bigoted religion, at least own it.

I'm not really into arguing about religion or politics, and I'm neither religious nor particularly political, but I do have to admit a begrudging respect for any religion that at least sticks by it's dogmatic roots, however ridiculous those roots are.

That's pretty much all I got from Widdicombe that was worth thinking about.

The rest of her nonsense....isn't worth anyone's time.

All versions of Christianity ignore some parts of the bible because it's not popular. The Bible says not to wear two different types of fabric at once, and to sell your daughter to her rapist, but no Christians are abiding by that. They are all as bad as each other, to pretend like she's calling out hypocrisy by changing from one hateful religion to another is so deceitful, another part of the reason she is scum.

I'm at a loss as to why you need a right to choose who you work WITH. Work is a private agreement between you and an employer, so who the other workers are is irrelevant. Isn't it? Or am I missing something fundamental here?

Nietzsche is not simply asserting his atheism; he is suggesting that once we are aware that the concept of God is our own creation we can no longer base our religious and moral beliefs on any notion of a divine external reality.

In the period that Nietzsche was writing, the death of God was just beginning. Western thought was starting to face the prospect of a radical change in its orientation, and it wasn't quite ready to own up to it yet.

Kierkegaard and Nietzsche represent opposite reactions to the inability of rationality to give a rock solid theoretical proof of God's existence. Kierkegaard calls for us to embrace God even if it seems an absurdity, while Nietzsche says it is time for us to create a new mode of being, with human creativity at its centre.

From one perspective - if we are all made in some grand 'Destiny' or plan, then our actions do have weight attached to them.

If however we are all born as a miraculous chance, do our actions really mean much? Does the homeless man really change the universe / future on the same scale as Jeff Bezos, or Isaac Newton had?

Do you think your actions are changing the world?

With six degrees of separation and the butterfly effect at play we must influence others even at a subconsious level. So yeah we all do our bit here on earth and the bricks of humanity can only be laid on what came before and Inspiration can come from anywhere even a tramp.

On a cosmic scale we are truly insignificant collections of atoms and nothing makes any difference. Untold numbers amongst the trillions of stars are exploding and dying as I type and galaxies disappear into black holes in a continuous stream of entropy that makes all life on earth and our little planet nothing but a pointless blink in spacetime.
To bestow on ourselves a Grand Plan of significance in which we all play a part is an extraordinary display of hubris…😉

thinking from an opposite perspective - if there is some grand plan, then we are helpless and replaceable (there's gotta be a backup plan) to change the world.

but with chance, we have just that, the opportunity to change things. everyone does, it's just a matter of scale.
