Well I'm a massive stoner and I've had great benefits from microdosing. I find I feel a lot more balanced and regulated, and I'm able to deal with very stressful situations much more easily. It's also made me more emotional, which is interesting. An occasional cry to music is very cathartic. I'm doing a Stamets' Stack regime specifically and have done for about 10 months now. Currently on the 2 week (2-4 week break is suggested) now before starting again, and the mental effects definitely carry through on days you're not doing it.

I'd say from about a couple of months in until I felt any beneficial significant changes at all, but I felt microdosing created this balanced mental feeling where overwhelming things were just whelming from the start when I was initially dosing. This was after I changed regime from 0.1g to 0.2g (which now seems more standard) as I didn't feel that the lower dose did much for me at all.

The latter. Wanted to help my general mood as I've suffered from mild to moderate untreated (other than self medicated) depression for a long time and this seemed like something that could help. It definitely has. I'd have stopped long ago if there wasn't a benefit for me.

I believe it's always been Golden Teachers for the stuff that worked. Not sure about the 0.1g stuff that didn't really do much, but probably the same in a lower dose.

For the Stamets' Stack I'm adding 50mg of flushing Niacin and 1g of Lion's Mane too.

I recently took the plunge and experimented with microdosing.
I found it very beneficial for my mental health. Currently working through trauma from my younger self and so was beneficial for this too. I took a 8 week protocol. With a mix of day on day off. Three days on two off etc. I found the most benefits after finishing the course and taking a break.
Thats where my life really flourished.

I found 1 day on 1 day off suited me best. But I'm a joiner by trade and work with heavy machines. So have to be careful you know. I started on a bank holiday in may which was the best decision.
I like your 4-6 week routine Will try that next. I found eight weeks too long.👍

It's an interesting point you're making that you found most benefits during taking a break. I wonder if it's certian things more elevated mood, focus etc or all round feeling better?

I have felt an all round sense of calmness that whilst taking a break the clarity comes through.
I can see how my mind is now able to take new directions on more positive pathways with focusing more at work to achieve better quality work ( I work with wood).
Bigger gains physically (I'm a trail runner).
And seeing a new direction with over coming childhood abuse,where before I had become stuck in the past, as any trauma victim will tell you.

We love to micro dose every medicine even cannabis. Life is way more effective and manageable. Clarity of thought and consciousness before acting on thoughts. Emotional balance! Don't get me wrong macro has its time and place and doing it more when a ceremonial dose is needed is the key. These days we are experimenting with Micro-dosing Ayahuasca and all we can say is WOW!!!

So I did the route where the Dr's medicated me, honestly don't put yourself through that. I found I felt focused but other aspects I was less focused, my anger levels were through the roof and I could flip over the most minor stuff! I've now been clear of meds for around 7-8 months now. I have dabbled a bit in shrooms, had some messages come through (I don't know whether that was my subconscious talking to me). I still find day to day stuff a struggle but who doesn't, am I right?

I keep seeing some ads for adhd apps which can help, they add routine to your life which it seems you are lacking. Drink plenty of water, exercise (I should do this myself) read, learn a new skill.

One of my mains struggles as an adhd adult is a lot of the advice given to me involved doing what I enjoy, which is where my issue came. I had gotten to a point where I didn't know what I enjoyed anymore, some days I still don't. That's a difficult hurdle to overcome or at least it was for me!

My partner and I are both ADHD (my partner possibly AuDHD)

I'm medicated with amphetamines, my partner not.

I find the meds helpful - they help me most in regulating my emotions more than I am able to do on my own. I find I'm more patient, more able to organise, and calmer.

My partner self medicates with green, but it doesn't really do much for him (from my perspective) other than making him feel less anxious.

I've been considering looking into l-tyrosine supplements (also called l-dopa) as these are the initial building blocks of dopamine in the brain. Might also try adding l-tryptophane as well, for a serotonin boost.

Sleep, for me, is the most important thing. Regular, good, long enough sleep. If you've got poor sleep hygiene, I'd suggest starting there to see if you can help yourself feel better without meds or chemicals.

I took lytosine it helped me short term and also becopa helped but after a couple months benefits seemed to stop, have managed to buy some modafinil from a website which helped me as well for a bit but been waiting 3 years to get seen when I was on ADHD meds as a kid and now mid 30s , life was eye opening and upsetting how well methelthedrate helped my mind when I had the chance to try again a few years ago just a waiting game and hoping they will help me

you should speak to your gp about your legal right to choose, you can be referred to a private clinic for assessment/treatment and the nhs will pay, adhduk website has a right to choose page with the different providers

and im gonna say it weed is a problem for some with adhd can make symptoms worse so possibly on your break it may be an eye opener!

Avoid the meds, it never helps, I was misdiagnosed ADHD as a late teen and put on straterra (atomoxetine) 80mg, they wanted me on 120mg due to size & weight but the 80mg caused me to have a psychotic episode and tried to jump off a flyover after about 4-5 months on the straterra. After crisis team etc got involved, I pulled off the meds completely and took to MJ for the first time (was anti-smoking my entire life until that point).

If you were to go down that road, check out shroom microdosing, I tend to grab some cheap shake when I need a t-break and just smoke it like a tobacco substitute until it runs dry and by that point my tolerance drops some and then the good flower is like a nice treat.

Ultimately though these things are very personal in experience and no two folks even with the same symptoms and diagnosis won't live the same lives with the same outcomes and effects.. the real advice is you need to centre yourself and be OK being who you are, conditions don't define us - they are a part of us, no different than accepting your ears or fingers.

Talk therapy was the best thing I ever did other than smoke the Holy herb!!

Diagnosed mixed type at 38 in February. Still titrating. Concerta XL had minimal effects apart from making me sweat excessively.
About to start Elvanse in the next day or two.
Hoping for improvement from elvanse or else I will probably just got MC route.
Oh and the amount of folks without any experience who told me lion's mane is more effective than stimulants 🤣

Hi bud I myself live with adhd and was prescribed stimulant meds but it was not long before I stopped taking them as they did not help my adhd, I would struggle to sleep and they were meant to help me to relax when all they did was made me buzzy. They also affected my Sex life and not in a good way if you know what I mean 😉.

i know how bad this is to hear, but literally anything you take every day will stop working sooner or later and now you still have adhd but now a drug problem too. drugs are a terrible way to address any chronic problem, a real last resort - they can be a good way to chill out for a bit if you're exhausted or if you just need a change of perspective, and they're certainly cheaper than five star hotels - but don't underestimate how long cannabis tolerance can take to fade or how much even a mild dependence (if you have a tolerance, you have a dependence) can disrupt your life, especially sleep, especially if you are adhd. learn to live with neurodiversity (there is some good advice in other people's comments - don't eat sugar or processed food much), then get high now and again for a break from having to - that's my advice, although how relevant it is for you i have no idea. also, t breaks need to be looong. if you have a high tolerance, really looong. thc gets dissolved in the fat in your body and takes ages to leech back out. you'll see what i mean.

whatever it ends up taking, you'll get the hang eventually and life'll get a lot easier. honestly, you'll already feel a lot better after a t break. do it now.

I’m on elvanse now and it’s a lysdexamphetamine which is the greatest thing I’ve ever tried. Now I’m totally focused all the time and so much calmer when I’m not on it because there’s no build up of that adhd mental exhaustion. If you get offered that eventually take it. But speed does the exact same job, it’s literally the same thing so if you know a whizz guy that’s the best thing. So says all the science

Before I goty meds I found cutting out sugar makes a HUGE difference. Smoke wise I like a 50/50 or sativa dominant. Stardawg and Blue Dream worked best for me but any lemon strain is ideal. Red seal hash is probably my biggest tip, it’s perfect for calm and focus in the day and is prettty cheap. Hashman did have some but he’s not showing up on LB for me for some reason so I can’t check for you sorry.

Ideally you need a higher CBD level in your smoke.

For sleep a heavy indica with a high thc content is the only option. I use northern lights to sleep but hard to get so I’m smoking Titanic hash atm from Green Avenger. Very strong and really settles my head at night. Great seller and great value. One of my favourites

family members with adhd, theyve said denying medication is the best thing ive done.
adhd meds are not a fix and adhd is not a problem that even needs fixing.
try changing your structure to one that fits you (even if thats no structure) and try psychological tricks like body doubling which always helps me!
dont drug yourself into being okay, no drugs will EVER make you "Normal".
! Remember your body is a master chemist and it can and will make your adhd worse if you stay on meds!

I'm Audhd and officially unmedicated, gf is adhd and medicated but that has all been private cos of the waiting list. She finds it really helps her, and I've known others it has worked for but also there are lots who find it doesn't work so well for them.

I don't really have an awful lot of advice other than chase up the place that you're waiting for, and ask to be put on cancellations list or whatever it is called so they call you if someone cancels their appointment.

Don't sit on the NHS waiting list mate you'll never get there, google Right To Choose ADHD. For adult ADHD referrals you can get them to refer you private but u still don't have to pay, just skips the insane waiting times. I got diagnosed at 30 and medicated and it changed my life. I really thought I had chronic fatigue or some shit everything was such a struggle I couldn't do anything for more than an hour without feeling exhausted, would spend half the day at work staring at my monitor trying to find the motivation to do anything. I still struggle but it's like a veil is lifted feeling like "is this what it's like for everyone else?" It's not a miracle pill and it's not done much for my forgetfulness or distraction but it really helps so much. But I'm inattentive not hyperactive so might depend what your probs are.

any medicated biggas here how do you find edibles interacts w your meds? I feel like they don't hit as well if I've taken my meds but not taking my meds I'm a zombie and I hate it. But my weed tolerance goes up stupidly fast so idk if it's that rather than the meds... I can take 10mg after a break and get a whole body high and take 50mg 2 days later and get nothing lol. trying to work out what the best combo is here...

Before I was diagnosed and began medication I used to use modafinal. It wasn’t perfect but def helped. I’d use it when I really needed to get shit done.
I’m on elvanse with a dex top up. I’m still titrating. It’s a mixed bag if I’m honest. I’m female and where I am in my cycle impacts the effectiveness. I can lock into a task if I start it. Otherwise I just lock into on fucking about. My sleep is shit. I use weed for that and to try chill me enough that my brain lets me watch tv. I’ve found it to be a bit trial and error but when my meds work they’re good. When they don’t, it’s a shit show. Initially I could feel like kick in like a bump. But not now. I dunno if that fucks with your head and makes you think they’re not working.

And if you have any doubt they're not working try spending the weekend without them, you fast realise when you're back to how you used to be lol. For me it's like the elvanse just keeps me at a steady baseline of normal that I don't really notice, the dex gives me a kick and I only take it if I need to get something done. I try to go without on the weekends to keep tolerance down but it's shit without it so I just accept those days I'm not getting anything done so coast with edibles to at least be chill-lazy not miserable-lazy

Help with psychedelics (TLDR ver: how much should I smoke and how much should I take mushrooms to find a good middle ground)

I love weed, it is my best friend. However I have a bittersweet relationship with it, it helps my anxiety but it exacerbates my low moods, especially in the mornings. I’m trying to implement mushrooms in my life to break up the groggy mornings but I’ve found when I trip, the shrooms exacerbate my anxiety but improve my low moods. When I trip should I stop smoking that day or vice versa? I’m finding it really hard to find a middle ground between the two and just wondered if anyone here has found something that suits them?

For context: I’m in my late 20’s, I fast every day until 4pm and eat relatively well and keep hydrated, I’m busy mon-fri working a full time job but I do dry herb vape in work, I have a healthy relationship at home, I smoke 3-5g a day and half a g of concentrate roughly.

My moods are pretty much solely derived from my drug intake and just want to find that beauty spot and take breaks when I need to but I can’t read the signs. Sorry for rambling on, I’ve just been struggling the past few weeks and it’s hard to get drug advice from my therapist ha

Sounds like we smoke similar amounts of weed per day, and I've been having good results for mild anxiety and depression, and general stress related to work, by microdosing for almost a year now. I just take a Stamets' Stack regime of 0.2g of shrooms, 1g of Lion's Mane and 50mg of flushing Niacin and still smoke just as much. Definitely feel the benefits of this. I've been using RocketDogRonnie for many, many months now and find his products work well for me. Link above.

If you want to trip as a general mood reset then I'd advise about 1.5-2g of shrooms like APE, maybe once a month or so? I'm still not entirely sure how best to fit this into the microdosing regime, but there's a 2 week gap in the regime where you could slot that in, potentially. I always have a joint when I'm waiting to come up, and it works okay for me, usually. My mate gave me some dried Liberty Caps last month and I haven't weighed them yet... They're very straggly.

Yeah I’ll be honest big trips aren’t for me. Just get extremely paranoid. I did get some GT and B+ from ronnie and did quite enjoy the mild effects a lot more instead of these hero strains.
I love to pick libs at this time of the year, again, a great strength for me.

2 of RDR's Santa's Chocs and Flash Gordon in 4K with high quality surround sound makes for an excellent night. Oodie or equivalent garment to make it super cosy.

Just looking up the regime again and it looks like I should at least be doubling the dose of the Niacin, and maybe only take one capsule of the Lion's Mane. I do regularly get the flush effect from the 50mg though, which is apparently the important aspect. Not entirely sure why. Make sure any Niacin you buy is the flushing effect type as there are 2 formulations of it available from various manufacturers.

What mg Lions Mane am I looking at? There are 2000 and 4000 primarily. A good point are my vitamins in general to be fair, probably missing out on a few vital ones in the daytime too

Be careful where you buy from. Anything from china is no good. The air quality is so poor you’re likely to be doing more harm than good.
Cotswolds mushrooms are great.
Get some vitamin e and d. If you take nothing else these will give you the most benefit….i think.

I had one that was (I'm sure) listed as 1000mg and the dose was 2 capsules. No idea why I went with that. Purity, quite possibly? They've changed the packaging and it's 1 dose for 500mg on it now. That's seemingly too much for the Stack dose specifically, but I'm not splitting capsules up. Try to find a lower dose, or just go with the lower one?

Presumably as it's mainly in our brains, and that causes situational reactions. 0.2g seems to be the sweet spot for me, at least. Looks like you may have outdone me on the Christmas stash dude! The other 2 K4B strains are amazing...

Funny you say that because there are 120 1000mg at £25 and 180 2000mg at £9. Like you say, maybe they’re safer and purer. I think I’ll take ronnies advice and try this Cotswolds Mushrooms for the lions mane as they have a couple of different types, their website definitely reassures me. As for the Niacin, there seems to be a few decent options on Amazon

Can I advise you to drink at least 2 liters of pure water, i.e., not tap or mineral, but spring or re-mineralised distilled water. You can re-mineralise using a couple of grains of celtic salt. Just make sure it's genuine celtic salt. Hydration is extremely important and is always overlooked in disease and malaise. Dehydration impacts brain function tremendously yet is ignored by allopathic doctors, who just love to prescribe psychoactives. I suffered mental health problems for years until some research led me in this direction and couldn't believe how something so simple, yet devastatingly effective, cured most of my health problems. Maybe microdosing shrooms is the answer, you wont be taking enough to trip so would avoid triggering the anxiety and will help give you the uplift in your general mood you are looking for, I'm adding a link for Fungal-Cate, its worth shooting her a message, shes proper knowledgeable on this stuff and i'm sure will help you choose the right path.

Also i know someone who struggles with anxiety and they tend to avoid Indicas when smoking as the Sativas dont set it off, could be worth testing the theory for yourself to see if one or the other helps you more.

Nice thanks man! Yeah I only get sativa from my clinic, indica is no good to me. I love my flavours which are naturally indica based but they don’t bother me too much if I moderate it

I really like smaller doses of shrooms in my old age, 1.5 here, 2g there, gives me a couple of hours of nice borderline stuff, a little bit of technicolour, some nice body vibes and gets me into a really nice mind state, it always puts a little spring back in my step too.

Just to note, different strains have different strength. 2g of golden teachers is a strong dose, 2g of liberty caps is a heroic dose.

Research the psilocybin content of your shrooms before whacking 1.5-2g, that is a high dose.

Yeah you are right and its good advice, research everything as much as possible, it's the best way to keep yourself safe.
I should've pointed out if i'm messing with with stronger strains then 1.5 is normally where I land for my little vibe sessions.

This possibly isn't the answer you're hoping for but my advice would be to try and dial back a little bit on the smoke. I'd say 5g a day is quite a lot, especially if you work full-time. You must roll big joints! 😂

I used to smoke all day, every day and it ended up being counterproductive. I smoke weed to help with my mental health but when I was doing it all day long, it stopped helping and I noticed my low moods returning much more often. Once I managed to cut down, I noticed a definite improvement in my mindset. I didn't even have to stop smoking every day, it was just about reducing the number of times I smoked each day.

The main thing for me is waiting until later in the day to have my first smoke/vape. If I go at it first thing, I tend to get stuck in a rut for the day and don't really feel the benefit of anything else I smoke that day.

I'd second the idea of microdosing shrooms. If you can do that first thing and avoid smoking until later in the day then you might see a difference.

Hope you manage to find something that works for you anyway.

I smoke around a gram with my vape in work and my joints are about 1.5g in each which I find a nice amount with a brew! But it’s funny you say this, as I am slowly starting to point my finger at the weed being a result of my moods. But I fucking love it. Weird?

Me too, I'm late 40s and I've been smoking daily for about 30 years now and still absolutely love it. 🫠

Have you tried distillate vapes for when you're at work? They're really strong so not much required however I find that the lack of full spectrum cannabinoids means I get high but don't get the Indica or Sativa traits. It also means that when I go back to vaping bud, it hits that little bit harder than if I'd been on flower all day.

I’ve always got a couple of vapes in the van but I do genuinely prefer using my prescribed stuff, really helps me out I’ll be honest. That’s what I love about dry herb vaping too is when I get back and roll a nice flavour which will be indica dominant, I don’t get anxious because I’ve slowly built up a tolerance throughout the day!

I think 0.3g is a bit too much, am after the stealth side of microdosing here: when others cannot tell that you are on shrooms BUT you definitely can ;-)

Guides I've read online seems to class anything sub 0.5 as a microdose. Like with everything, how much you take really changes from person to person and what you personally want from it. I microdose between 0.2 and 0.4 depending on the strain. I always start with 0.2 - 0.3 and see how I react. I can then always increase my dose should I need to 👍

If 0.1g works for you then there's no point changing it

Agreed, the strain does make quite a difference. I usually microdose with Golden Teachers and find that 0.25g is about right for me. I then got some APE Reverts from SOTL and 0.25g of those was a bit too much, almost felt like a threshold dose tbh.

We would say 0.3-0.5 is a microdose! You can try our CaliGold Chocolate bars that are 4G per bar and 0.4 per square. Alternatively you can cut the square into 4 pieces and that would make 0.1G each bite :) Try us out and you will not be dissapointed!
