A cautionary tale of no refund
3 weeks ago i placed an order with vendor i have bought several items from. The order was marked as paid but i was suprised the order was not sent on the Monday but the status remained as paid. During the evening the seller cancelled the order without explanation & sent an automated message to request a refund from the borg. I message to ask why the order was cancelled & was informed by the seller that the site had been hacked. I have now been trying to get the due refund for 3 weeks without success. I have provided order number, refund amount & wallet address but still no refund. The responses from the borg have been repeat requests for info, apologies or simply no reply. So dont think that just because an escrow system is operated that your payment is safe, its not.
Don’t give up faith if all the info you have provided to cleanup Borg has been verified keep at transaxe support they are extremely busy I guess took me almost two weeks for a refund during the same time
🤞good luck
🤞good luck
Relieved to say, FINALLY, 4 full weeks after cancellation, refund now received. Thanks to the Borg & persist if you have the same issue.

So recently I posted a topic regarding the new UK Knowledge Assessment Quiz that you have to complete in order to use Coinbase.
To reiterate, there are two parts to the assessment. For the first part just enter the lowest percentage possible on every input.
The second part is a little more tricky, you will be asked 6 random multiple choice questions.
Here is an updated list of 27 potential questions and answers;

Bitpanda appropriateness test?
Hi everyone, I've been on bitpanda for years with only the occasional hiccup.
Tried to buy £50 odd quids worth of BTC today and it says I haven't completed an appropriateness test?
This is in the app, it feels like the test should load but nothing happens? I can't find the test anywhere on the website or app.
Any ideas? Would rather not wait an age for their support to eventually reply.

Had to do this aswell today.
When you open the app you should get a pop up with a toggle button. Hit the button, click continue and it will take you to the test.
Its 6 questions. If you need any help give me a shout. 👍

Hi mate thanks for responding. It doesn't come up when I open the app? There is no pop up? I just get a message saying I need to take the test when I try to buy BTC but nothing to click.
When you open the app you should get a pop up called discover cash plus or something like that.
This pop up doesn't mention the questionnaire at all.

It doesn't come up but I can find it on bitpanda.com I'll try to fill it in on there. Hopefully it works. Thanks.

Don't think the answers matter it's just so they can cover their arse. I just did the ones I could Google then put don't know for the rest.
Update...it turns out the answers matter. I have been blocked from buying crypto for 24 hours for getting too many wrong.
Oh, it’s not like Coinbase that locks you out for ‘wrong’ answers?🤓😖
Good to know, thanks!
Good to know, thanks!
I had a winge at bitpanda about all this yesterday and was a bit curt with one of their customer service bods. Felt bad about it this morning, as it's not the customer service dudes fault, so sent him a message apologising and they credited me €5 as a gesture. So fair play to bitpanda and Nick from their customer service team.
Hi, that sounds like a pain. I have a verified acct with Bitpanda & just deposited £100, traded to btc then sent to my coins to a personal wallet. No 'appropriateness Test' but I also used my laptop not a mobile app. I have been queried in the past at other exchanges where payment went direct to the seller not to a wallet. Hope that helps & please let us know the outcome.
Just had bitpanda get in touch saying it was their fuck up something to do with an app update and a small numbers of customers have been affected.
I'm having the same problem. I'm able to deposit onto bitpanda but the I can't trade anything. Keeps saying I'm forbidden to trade anything until I complete an appropriateness questionnaire. I also been using bitpanda for years with minimum problems and can't find questionnaire anywhere
I think, according to dope dad, a pop up with the questionnaire should come up? I don't get anything? I'm on android are you apple or android?
Go on bitpanda.com not the app and click on cash plus or Google bitpanda cash plus and follow the website link. Fill in the questions and you are good to go again.

Cancelled orders and no refund
Yesterday I made a purchase with a seller who I promptly paid and they thanked me for my custom. A couple of hours later they cancelled my ordered and refund borg requested my bitcoin address which I provided. It has been over 24 hours and I am still waiting for this refund. The seller says that it is transaxe who provides the refund. So let me get this straight...I make a purchase, pay for my order and the seller gets to cancel and keep the bitcoin? They said that I hadn't made enough purchases and I wasn't trustworthy. So I pay for my order and now I have been ripped off yet I'm not trustworthy? Can anyone help me out here to understand how this all works. Can a seller just cancel n keep the bitcoin and the website does the refund? I wish the seller I used on the old website was still here. They had the best product and communication and wouldn't turn down customers.
The vendor doesn’t initially get your coin, it’s held in escrow (transaxe) for 12-16 days before being released. If a vendor cancels your order your coin is safe and will be returned to you by transaxe within a couple of days.
There has been a long run of scam new customers and vendors are having to protect themselves. As a noob it is always a good idea to message a chosen vendor for a quick chat and a green light before placing your order. Good comms solves everything. You’ll soon build reputation….👍

Hi there,
Thank you for your reply. I was around on the old site but made a new account for the new site. I never had to deal with a refund before though. I appreciate you explaining that to me as I am not the best with tech. I think I will do that. I will probably just try to find one seller who is reliable. I understand that sometimes customers might say their order didn't arrive when it did or something like that. I would never do that but no one knows that. There had been a couple of instances where my order didn't arrive on the old site and thankfully the sellers did repost. The trouble with Royal Mail is a lot of the workers cotton on about such packages and think they can help themselves. It is frustrating.

There certainly are frustrations!
I’m not sure what you mean by “new site” and “old site”? LB is available on the clear net and tor, but it’s the same site as always. You can use the same log in details 👍

I don't think the vendor has the bitcoin, it's held by transaxe for a while. If you send your bitcoin address as requested then tranaxe will refund you, it took about 48 hrs for me to get refund in similar circumstances. It's frustrating but you won't lose out. That's the joy of this escrow system.
It might be worth messaging a vendor before paying if you haven't got many completed purchases.

i have been waiting 2 1/2 WEEKS for a refund, have provided order number, amount & BTC address 4 times. I have been ignored, then apologised to, then a request for information that had already been sent & then ignored again for the past 5 days. I am no longer using this site as I feel very let down after a year of top quality service. Anyone else in the same boat?
