Bitpanda not accepting Visa
Been using Bitpanda for a while but now they are not offering Visa debit card deposits. Offering instant Neteller or Skrill? instant deposit options. Has anyone else had this problem? Anysuggestions? Or change BTC exchange again? All advice appreciated. Thanks

A cautionary tale of no refund
3 weeks ago i placed an order with vendor i have bought several items from. The order was marked as paid but i was suprised the order was not sent on the Monday but the status remained as paid. During the evening the seller cancelled the order without explanation & sent an automated message to request a refund from the borg. I message to ask why the order was cancelled & was informed by the seller that the site had been hacked. I have now been trying to get the due refund for 3 weeks without success. I have provided order number, refund amount & wallet address but still no refund. The responses from the borg have been repeat requests for info, apologies or simply no reply. So dont think that just because an escrow system is operated that your payment is safe, its not.
Don’t give up faith if all the info you have provided to cleanup Borg has been verified keep at transaxe support they are extremely busy I guess took me almost two weeks for a refund during the same time
🤞good luck
🤞good luck
Relieved to say, FINALLY, 4 full weeks after cancellation, refund now received. Thanks to the Borg & persist if you have the same issue.

Crypto Travel Rules
Hi All
Just had a pop-up on my Wallet app regarding Travel Rules & that I may be required to provide the details of the person receiving the BTC.
How is everyone else handling this when sending to LB?
Say its your "Own wallet" or make up some details for the wallet owner?
Part of me thinks claiming its my own wallet is easiest but I dont really want to tell my exchange that Im the owner of LBs wallet!
What's everyone doing with this?
Cheers!

Send to an external wallet first and just say it is your own wallet.
You can probably just send it directly too, they won't have the time and resources to check every transaction, plus when you get an address for your order here, it is a fresh address with no previous transactions.

I always send from the exchange to my personal wallet first, thats fine. It's when my wallet provider starts asking where Im sending the funds thats the potential issue. Thanks Budzinho.
Easiest way around this is a non-KYC wallet like Exodus, then you're not lying if there are potential legal implications down the line when you tell your exchange that it's your own wallet (ignoring the buying drugs on line aspect, obviously...). Currently under 50p in gas fees to have that extra layer of distancing.
Really enjoyed your wares before Christmas btw. Was looking at the curtains wondering if we'd left the window open after 150mcg. We had not. Think I'm due a restock of fresh stuff soon.

Ah friend wonderful news my goodness! We really pray for the day when we can provide this service liberdade!!
I currently send from the exchange to my private wallet anyway so my concern is sending from THAT wallet to LB if they start asking. I am currently tempted to just say Im sending to another wallet I own.
I actually already have an Exodus wallet as well but I never use it due to the fact the interface was designed by Satan himself & I actually hate using it!

As long as it's a self-custodial wallet, then they aren't going to ask you for anything.
These FCA regulations only apply to FCA compliant 'exchanges' like Bitpanda, Coinbase, Kraken etc etc.
Self-custodial 'wallets' like Exodus, Coinomi, Atomic Wallet, etc etc are not exchanges or FCA compliant. They don't actually exchange coins for fiat, they are just a place to store, receive and send your coins.
Although many wallets do have some third party exchange incorporated into them, which are usually terrible on fees anyway.

Hi Friends
I have tried to warn folks last month about what is coming.
The taxman is going to look into this properly starting this year:
If you've bought crypto, sold crypto or even if you disposed of crypto (to buy some wares) and they find out you did they will want to know how/when/why and could ask to see transactions made using exchanges but also wallets.
This is so that they can claw more capital gains tax from us common people.
I had high expectations for the new UK Gov but the more goes on the more it looks like they are going to burden us with more tax (selling online anyone?) so that they can fill up the state coffers to try to offset all of th COVID debt.
Right now I have closed my Revolut account and will keep a low profile.
It does help that my fridge is holding several of your Laser Focus and Leisure Time bottles :-)
I will make it through the next year or so and will resurface once I'll have gotten a good grip on peer to peer crypto :-)

This is good thinking brother! For us sellers this is even worse as how do we get paid to keep providing our services:-/
Hi Friends
I tried to warn biggas on another of the crypto threads last month.
I was quite upset when I found out about those new crypto tax rules.
Essentially crypto now comes under capital gains tax so if you have been buying/selling or just USING crypto to buy things and services you are liable to pay tax if you exceed that threshold.
And as I was saying the new Gov has halved the CGT threshold (although to be fait the previous one did too ) :-(
I have gone through all the crypto transactions I have done since joining LB in 2022 and luckily I was under the thrshold every year but the last thing I want is have to explain what I used the BTC for.
As you know the taxman has all sorts of powers and they can request to see the transactions all the way to your wallet.
You can see for yourselves by looking at the Gov web site, obviously I do not want to link to it from hre as we do not want any traffic coming from LB onto that!
Now the good news is that I have a couple of your Laser Focus bottles and a couple of Leisure Time so I can go under ground for a good year+.
I do have a handful of edible packs left too but your medicine is really all I am going to need :-)
I will take my time during the comign year to research non-KYC crypto purchases but in the meantime:
Gone to ground...

How is this not the top topic? I have no idea what to do. I’ve asked the seller and waiting for a response.
Thats what puzzles me tbh. Either it's no big deal, in which case fine I guess but it seems like this has the potential to really fuck things up on here depending on how strictly its done. Hopefully its the first one!
Thats kinda my hope. I mean if it was causing a lot of problems its all we would be talking about so hopefully just me being overanxious about it.
I’m with Bitpanda, I don’t have an external wallet so I put the host as Bitpanda. Not had a problem 🤷♂️
I’ve gone for it! Thanks for your help. I’ve asked many people what to do in this situation (including the seller and transaxe) and couldn’t get an answer. 🤞🏻
Thanks for the update. Hopefully just a box-ticking exercise then, glad its not caused you a problem, it can get a bit stressful when things like this happen!
I posted on another thread about this all you do is put Transaxe.com in the company box as that is who you are sending to not the vendor or Little Biggy and the new travel rules are to try and kill the bots doing btc to eth exchanges then eth back to btc and making money out the exchanges which has the side effect of raising fees for the rest of us.
Are you sending straight to LB from exchange or sending to a personal wallet before sending to LB?
So just tell the truth and say it's to your own wallet. Your wallet doesn't care about these new rules.
My personal wallet is a Blockchain DeFi wallet. I have had a notification in the app that they may start asking for details of the recipient so thats more the issue.
Im not worried about the exchange as Im genuinely sending to my own Blockchain wallet when buying BTC its the last stage Wallet > LB that has me a bit nervous.
Im not worried about the exchange as Im genuinely sending to my own Blockchain wallet when buying BTC its the last stage Wallet > LB that has me a bit nervous.
What did this notification say specifically? I also have a Blockchain DeFi wallet and nothing different has popped up while using it for me...
I don’t recall the exactly, kicking myself for not screenshotting it tbh. Basically it was a notification on the home page for the DeFi wallet app that stated something like: “To comply with local regulations we may ask you to provide details of transactions to & from your wallet. These may include Name & wallet host etc.” Something very similar to that anyway. It sounds like your setup is basically the same as mine. Exchange > Blockchain Wallet > LB. Do you usually Blockchain DeFi to pay on here then I assume? Cheers Rux
I generally use either that or Exodus. I swear the interface on the latter has got worse...I can't find the custom fee option any more, for one. Haven't had that pop up yet.
Yep. Its been a smooth setup for about 2 years now and, to be fair I have not put through a transaction since I got the notification as I am waiting on a vendor to restock so it might not even ask me.
I will give you a shout next time I put an order through & let you know what happens. Honestly Exodus has the most confusing, badly laid out setup I think Ive ever seen! Its like they TRIED to make it as bad as humanly possible, or maybe Im just too old for its bullshit 😂

Seems they're clamping down on crypto assets in the UK. Wouldn't be surprised if we see an uptick in small sellers offering various services and wares (just so they can continue to buy their smoke).

Just thought I'd send some love and positive energy Greencats way.
1) You will not find quality bud elsehwere on LB ib my opinion. I have a notoriously high threshold and yet his stuff still hits in the right places.
2) You won't find a more honest vendor on here. He's always honest when others are not. Nothing but respect.
3) His service is one of the best. Fast shipment, fast delivery. Consistently ensuring his customers are well cared for.
Big up GC!! Sending alot of love your way fella.
I'll tell you this, if it wasn't for you and the help you've given me over the last two years, I worry where I would be. Saved my life and I have no shame saying that.
If someone does something good for you. Just something nice back. It might just put a smile on their face 💙

Really top vendor, agree with you on all points. Really recommended for quality, value & service
Not tried him yet but that Skywalker OG caught my eye, might just have to try him out sometime. Nice one for sharing your experiences with other biggas

So recently I posted a topic regarding the new UK Knowledge Assessment Quiz that you have to complete in order to use Coinbase.

thanks for helping with this, really helped clear security & get set up quickly. Bitpanda wont take payment via debit card any longer so had to swap exchanges again to Coinbase
Thanks so much for this! I definitely would've been too bored to guess the correct number and pass.. Cheat notes very much appreciated :)

Bitpanda appropriateness test?
Hi, that sounds like a pain. I have a verified acct with Bitpanda & just deposited £100, traded to btc then sent to my coins to a personal wallet.…
Bitpanda appropriateness test?
Hi everyone, I've been on bitpanda for years with only the occasional hiccup.
Tried to buy £50 odd quids worth of BTC today and it says I haven't completed an appropriateness test?
This is in the app, it feels like the test should load but nothing happens? I can't find the test anywhere on the website or app.
Any ideas? Would rather not wait an age for their support to eventually reply.

Had to do this aswell today.
When you open the app you should get a pop up with a toggle button. Hit the button, click continue and it will take you to the test.
Its 6 questions. If you need any help give me a shout. 👍

Hi mate thanks for responding. It doesn't come up when I open the app? There is no pop up? I just get a message saying I need to take the test when I try to buy BTC but nothing to click.
When you open the app you should get a pop up called discover cash plus or something like that.
This pop up doesn't mention the questionnaire at all.

It doesn't come up but I can find it on bitpanda.com I'll try to fill it in on there. Hopefully it works. Thanks.

Don't think the answers matter it's just so they can cover their arse. I just did the ones I could Google then put don't know for the rest.
Update...it turns out the answers matter. I have been blocked from buying crypto for 24 hours for getting too many wrong.
Oh, it’s not like Coinbase that locks you out for ‘wrong’ answers?🤓😖
Good to know, thanks!
Good to know, thanks!
I had a winge at bitpanda about all this yesterday and was a bit curt with one of their customer service bods. Felt bad about it this morning, as it's not the customer service dudes fault, so sent him a message apologising and they credited me €5 as a gesture. So fair play to bitpanda and Nick from their customer service team.
Hi, that sounds like a pain. I have a verified acct with Bitpanda & just deposited £100, traded to btc then sent to my coins to a personal wallet. No 'appropriateness Test' but I also used my laptop not a mobile app. I have been queried in the past at other exchanges where payment went direct to the seller not to a wallet. Hope that helps & please let us know the outcome.
Just had bitpanda get in touch saying it was their fuck up something to do with an app update and a small numbers of customers have been affected.
I'm having the same problem. I'm able to deposit onto bitpanda but the I can't trade anything. Keeps saying I'm forbidden to trade anything until I complete an appropriateness questionnaire. I also been using bitpanda for years with minimum problems and can't find questionnaire anywhere
I think, according to dope dad, a pop up with the questionnaire should come up? I don't get anything? I'm on android are you apple or android?
Go on bitpanda.com not the app and click on cash plus or Google bitpanda cash plus and follow the website link. Fill in the questions and you are good to go again.

Cancelled orders and no refund
Yesterday I made a purchase with a seller who I promptly paid and they thanked me for my custom. A couple of hours later they cancelled my ordered and refund borg requested my bitcoin address which I provided. It has been over 24 hours and I am still waiting for this refund. The seller says that it is transaxe who provides the refund. So let me get this straight...I make a purchase, pay for my order and the seller gets to cancel and keep the bitcoin? They said that I hadn't made enough purchases and I wasn't trustworthy. So I pay for my order and now I have been ripped off yet I'm not trustworthy? Can anyone help me out here to understand how this all works. Can a seller just cancel n keep the bitcoin and the website does the refund? I wish the seller I used on the old website was still here. They had the best product and communication and wouldn't turn down customers.
The vendor doesn’t initially get your coin, it’s held in escrow (transaxe) for 12-16 days before being released. If a vendor cancels your order your coin is safe and will be returned to you by transaxe within a couple of days.
There has been a long run of scam new customers and vendors are having to protect themselves. As a noob it is always a good idea to message a chosen vendor for a quick chat and a green light before placing your order. Good comms solves everything. You’ll soon build reputation….👍

Hi there,
Thank you for your reply. I was around on the old site but made a new account for the new site. I never had to deal with a refund before though. I appreciate you explaining that to me as I am not the best with tech. I think I will do that. I will probably just try to find one seller who is reliable. I understand that sometimes customers might say their order didn't arrive when it did or something like that. I would never do that but no one knows that. There had been a couple of instances where my order didn't arrive on the old site and thankfully the sellers did repost. The trouble with Royal Mail is a lot of the workers cotton on about such packages and think they can help themselves. It is frustrating.

There certainly are frustrations!
I’m not sure what you mean by “new site” and “old site”? LB is available on the clear net and tor, but it’s the same site as always. You can use the same log in details 👍

I don't think the vendor has the bitcoin, it's held by transaxe for a while. If you send your bitcoin address as requested then tranaxe will refund you, it took about 48 hrs for me to get refund in similar circumstances. It's frustrating but you won't lose out. That's the joy of this escrow system.
It might be worth messaging a vendor before paying if you haven't got many completed purchases.

i have been waiting 2 1/2 WEEKS for a refund, have provided order number, amount & BTC address 4 times. I have been ignored, then apologised to, then a request for information that had already been sent & then ignored again for the past 5 days. I am no longer using this site as I feel very let down after a year of top quality service. Anyone else in the same boat?
