Great event, I love UFC it’s everything boxing isn’t anymore. Olivera is the most underrated champion, yes his chin is a bit weak but every time he gets knocked down he gets straight back up and applies forward pressure the man’s a monster. Plus his jujitsu is on another level. I don’t see anyone in the current 155lb catchment beating him. Feel sorry for Ferguson after such a long time away, he looked decent up until that kick, what a knockout though a contender for the knockout of the year. Disappointed in Rose fight. Well he didn't disappoint mate, Grant's got a new fan! Brilliant first round from him, sharp, hard punches. The second round I thought he gassed himself out due to Smolka just eating his shots like the tough guy he is but that 3rd round... wow! Solid corner advice and executed perfectly, chop the leg and he did just that. Great fight!

I know, 0.5lb.... all that drama, rules are rules but jeez

Personally I wet trim rather than dry. It's a contentious issue I know but I've never had issues. It maybe more prudent to leave fully leafed (except shade leaves) in warmer weather to allow slower drying.

Then I either hang branches or more recently I've tried using a drying net. The latter does tend to misshapen the buds if they aren't dense enough to support their own weight whilst drying. Benefit is a smaller drying area is needed.

The important thing is now the slow dry 10-14 days in a darkened space. Room temperature and humidity are also key to this process 16-17°c and 60% humidity. Always an issue lol 😆

Then once the smallest branch 'snaps' rather than bends its straight into curing (air tight containers) for a minimum of 3 weeks. Twice daily burping for the first 7-10 days then daily burps.

This takes the whole drying and curing process to just over a month from harvest. Of course you can leave to cure longer for a more pronounced flavour but my will power by then is pretty poor 🤣

Personally I use a dedicated drying tent, with drying nets and maintain the relative humidity and temperature with a Ecotecnics Fan Speed Controller (see above).

They're about £250 (ish) which is a bit of a sting but they are a godsend for both growing and drying, I use them in all 3 of my tents. Probably my second most useful bit of kit under my PH meter.

Just set the temp and the humidity you want inside the tent and it will adjust your environment for you by managing your intake/extract fan's and your heater's output.

Long and slow is preferred when drying but if the weather is particularly damp with a high humidity you really need to keep an eye on the buds for rot if you don't have a fan speed controller, because that shit sets in quick and spreads like wildfire. Personally if high humidity is a big problem I'd dry them a bit quicker (perhaps 7-10 days) rather than risk buds being ruined.

I'm terms of trimming, I take all the fans off before drying and just leave buds and sugar leaves wherever possible on the nets. Then I do a preliminary trim before they go in the jars then give them a 'professional' trim a couple of weeks later when I get the time. I hate trimming. It's a complete ballache but has to be done. Don't bother with machines they all damage the buds, you just have to use scissors (Fiskar Micro-Tip is my choice) which takes ages but is worth it in the end.

DM is right, you can cure for a few weeks or a few months, totally up to you although I've always gone for about 8 weeks in the jars as I think it's about right for my tastes. I'd say curing is as important a step as any other but one that's often skipped with mass produced weed. You can definitely taste the difference between cured and non cured buds (i think a lot of people mistake non cured buds for non flushed buds but that's a separate conversation).

Like I say if you can stretch to a drying tent and a fan speed controller that's probably the best advice I can give. Really useful bits of kit.

I see you went LED, I'm currently using a 1000w full spectrum LED, (not sure on the true wattage) but so far so good, I tried those crappy blurples before, when I didn't have a clue... it got the plant through veg but flower was just abysmal and a complete waste of time.

This time the full spectrum LED has really impressed me, for the price it costs in electric and the low heat it produces, they are great!

Keep an eye out for second hand fan speed controllers on ebay. They do come up for sale a lot and some are much cheaper than the ones I use (example above). That particular unit doesn't regulate humidity, but it's a step in the right direction.

Yeah, I went for the LED blurples too about 8 years ago and you're absolutely right, they were perfect for veg, and then did a complete shit job in flower. Total waste of money.

If i had to choose one single strain tho i'd go Mac1. I like feel good euphoric trippy weed best.
Not a fan of energetic sativas and haze strains don't go down too well with me either.

I'll take a sample if it's not too late, looking into new vendors so it'd be nice to try out as well.

I think what will die out is smaller sellers like myself who consistently lose money because its tied up in Transaxe (escrow) for way longer than it needs to be.

Why can't funds be linked to reviews? As soon as a customer had left a review there could be a box which says "are you happy with your purchase and for your funds to be released to the vendor? - yes - no". If yes the funds are released and if no it takes you to a dispute page. So simple and would solve so many issues but as with every other sensible idea on here, like introducing another more stable Crypto option, it will never happen.

To be honest if I'm consistently losing 15-20% when BTC falls on its arse during the 16 days its stuck in escrow, plus the 10-15% seller fees on top of that, selling on LB is becoming less and less viable by the day.

There has to be a better way to run this site than have it rely on something so volatile. But I won't hold my breath.

Fully agreed on BB on the review payment system that's a great idea as every vendor big or small is at risk with a 16 day payout.

The markets are going to keep on crashing until they can get inflation under control which won't be any time soon. I stated this back in December and was attacked for my forward-thinking at the time.

Surely being a grower you are taking less risk in your initial financial outlay than say a retail seller?

A grower surely is in the best position to take advantage of this current climate?

You're probably right that i'm less financially exposed than many "middle men" (for want of a better phrase) but the point is more about 'where' i sell rather than 'if' i sell.

If i have someone in London who offers (just as an example) £140 per zip for the entire crop for cash. A year ago i'd say no, these days those offers are far more tempting. Less hassle, less effort and less overheads.

It just means people like myself might look elsewhere to sell rather than risk a slightly higher profit margin that can dissapear overnight due to BTC's volatility.

I guess i should count myself lucky as i can ride it out, but i have a feeling others might not be in such an advantageous situation and the whole 16 day escrow thing is absolutely crippling their businesses.

Like i say fingers crossed it'll stabilise.

Bitcoin works better as a digital currency when its lower in value rather than being inflated as a speculative digital commodity. It'll probably bounce back like it has before but when I joined LB it was around £6k and it would be great if it could get back to those levels or lower. (should say I obviously don't want to see any biggas losing money and wish you all the best).

Agree 100% with BB that the funds should be available to the seller after being reviewed too, maybe say 24 or 48 hours after the review is left (assuming not in dispute) that way the buyer still has a bit of extra protection but the seller doesn't have to wait 16 days. Escrows do normally work both ways like that.

Only put in what you can tie up say for the next 2 years or so.

Always think long-term look at the internet in the mid 90's people were saying then if it would work and look at it now. It takes 20 years or so for things to go mainstream we are 14 years in on BTC.

And the tech bubble bursting in 99 was a sifting process where the weak fell by the wayside (tech companies that went bust) and then the likes of Google survived.

If only in hindsight and all that.

Live by the tech traders die by the tech traders. That's technology finance and there's always another wave.

2024 and that's when the next bullrun should start, however there are investing companies trying to get an approval from SEC to have a spot bitcoin ETF available for sometime and they have to give in eventually. This should make the price pump. But end of the day who knows all I'm doing is holding my bags and buying some more when possible.

What's the point of having an ETF which tracks the price of Bitcoin? Why not directly buying BTC?
