As a fellow stoner I have had the chance to experience many different strains and the different highs they offer, along with others personal remarks on strains i have yet to try. I thought id write up a little guide on some strains that are on my top list, and these should be available for most, but im focusing on the UK market here.

1. Gelato: upwards of 25% thc or more
This strain was the first memorable strain Ive had the pleasure to smoke, and ever since then ive made sure to ask about what strain im picking up from the big D (dealer). Gelato derives from the parent strains Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, making it a slightly indica dominant (55% {i}/45% {s}) strain. While technically an indica dominant strain, its effects are very much so a head high rather than a couch lock, starting with a good strong cerebral buzz and rush of euphoria. As the cannabinoids flow through you, your body will gradually succumb to a very relaxing and cozy body high that creates a feeling of tranquility and peace within, while simultaneously being hit with feelings of euphoria, creativity and energized focus making it a great strain for people looking for a creative boost without being overwhelmed by paranoia or couch lock. It has a very smooth creamy taste, like a nice herby icecream, hence the name Gelato. I havent seen this strain on this site yet but im sure its there if you look for it

2. Amnesia Haze: Average THC content (16-20%)
This is one of the most sought after strains in the UK, largely due to its very uplifting and euphoric high making it a good wake and bake strain, or -for the night owls- a solid club strain as it puts you in a great mood. Its known to decrease stress and anxiety so if your not the most social person then this strain should pick you up and turn you into a social butterfly and get your dance on in the club. Biggest complaint is the dry mouth and eyes but if you prepare with some water and eye drops this shouldnt be anything to put you off this great strain. When you smoke Amnesia you will be greeted with an earthy citrus flavor bringing you to a happy place with a lemon tree or two. This strain has its roots in Asia and Jamaica having its genetics traced back to South Asian and Jamaican landrace strains. It also is reported to have up to 1% cannabigerol (CBG) and contains less than 1% CBD.

3. Sour Diesel: 18.5% THC
Sour Diesel is an iconic strain, one which most stoners have at least heard about, with an aroma that punches into your nostrils and makes no attempt to conceal itself. Its a strain that dates back to the 90's with genetics from Chemdog 91 and Super Skunk. This pungent power house is a sativa dominant that will hit you like a truck with its fast acting, energetic cerebral high leaving you in a dreamy state. Its euphoric high can cause uplifting feelings of creativity, happiness, and relaxation. Commonly used by medical marijuana users for its ability to reduce pain depression and anxiety. This legendary bud is one that deserves to be on this list due to its charismatic smell and fast acting high.

4. Lemon Haze: 19% THC
Lemon haze is a beautiful smelling strain that likens itself to that of a freshly pealed lemon and the taste is not far off. This is an uplifting strain that can make any stressful day end blissfully, if you want to wind down this is one hell of a strain. along with its magnificent aroma, this bud will make you feel happy, creative, energized, and on the come down you will feel a sense of relaxation. Lemon haze comes from its parent strains Silver haze and Lemon Skunk creating the beautiful strain we all know and love.
