I don't know the science but I have extensive experience with both and hands down modafanil feels way healthier than adderall. Way easier to sleep, less jittery and less addictive.

1st onset is like limitless, you feel a command of your mind that is unique. never felt like that again for me but it does give me a really strong momentum on whatever i want to do.

I just did after near daily use for months and I felt bad for 6 days max. I can't say I missed it a lot and used the time to experiment with other nootropics especially the racetams. I will start the semester all healthy with noopept and then start slipping in the moda when studies start heating up.

What are the side effects of modafinil?

Of course it varies and if you want a link with a mind-numbing list like the end of a drug commercial, I've added one below. However to be more helpful I will characterize the side effects into major effects for most people. All of this multiplies in the face of other stimulants including caffeine.

Psychological
Though modafinil can initially be somewhat euphoric and social, it is inevitably neither. Regular use is likely to make you impatient and easily irritated.

Pulmonary
Modafinil can increase or throw off your heart beat. If you have any pathology here it could be a serious matter; stay away, it's not a well researched area yet. Otherwise don't freak out, just dose down at the first sign of a rapid or trembling heart beat..

Sex
A helper for neither foreplay nor ejaculation.

Coordination
Modafinil will not win any Olympic Medals, it builds a rhythm suitable to concentration, not athletic flow.

Cramps
Modafanil can cause fingers and toes to lock up, a very scary phenomena at first yet not shown to be anything particularly life threatening. Take it as a sign to back off and consider alternative nootropics.

A large population will experience none of this, don't be surprised if you are not experiencing side effects and don't let their absence be a rationale for over use.

Find better natural nootropics. A building block L Tyrosine, Siberian Ginseng - so many so much better with less side effects and less problems.

What is the correct dosage for my first time using modafinil?

It depends what you are using it for and how you plan to move forward.

If you are a shift worker or have chronic fatigue syndrome you are going to want to manage for long term effects, you'll be taking it up to 5 times a week (always take a couple of days off) and you want to get away with the minimal dose that will keep you awake, that's going to be 200mg for most people but 400mg is possible after a month of usage. taking more than this is serious business, even with a relatively benign drug like moda, make sure you have the medical history for this especially cardio health and monitor closely.

if you are taking moda for an exam or project a 1/2 (100 mg) will get you through a day if you don't eat much; a full 200 mg is ok, don't do more without an a.d.d. diagnosis.

There's a first for everything, the thing to keep in mind is that modafinil does not have a very long track record. Odds are that 1 day someone will die from modafinil abuse. How? Maybe they have a heart condition they dont known about and they stay awake for days at a time thinking that its sustainable.

Another possibility to OD is through a mix of moda and other substances, the combination of which is not well tested. If anyone has any doubt about this stuff just come to this biggy and we will all try and help sort it out.

The amount someone would have to take for such a long time is incredible. There are serious risks to taking anything in excessive doses. Plus, one should always test very small amounts first to see how their body reacts, especially if not part of a doctor-advised regimen.

The cumulative effects of modafinil are not well known though there is some evidence that it builds up neuron protection, modulates circadian rhythms and produces advantages for cognitive development. Personally I don't think these effects are so terrific that they outweigh the possible negative side effects which are also kind of hazy and unproven.

Dependency. Afinil is a great thing, and fairly benign but like anything else if you get used to it's effects you get tolerance and psychological (not physical) addiction.

I would say less extremes, I was often euphoric as an occasional user but also more short tempered according to my boyfriend. As a full time user it's more like a cleaner, more effective coffee habit, I have consistent energy don't crash in the afternoon but otherwise it's kinf of uneventful.

I love moda but can't imagine daily use it seems like it would lose it's effects and you would be back where you started.

Sounds like you are not on the tough end of the ADHD spectrum. For me daily use is more like the difference between things working well vs struggling.

Can you imagine daily caffeine use? Then you are 75% there. Now imagine skipping a day and think how you feel or picture having an extra cup or 2 for a busy day.

I have been taking modafinil and armodafinil for around 6 months and I have been partaking in the canna for around 20 years. I have held of on smoking for the day and took moda in the morning so I have done it without getting elevated.

Moda usually makes me alert and aware and canna lazy as fuck but creative.

I have been eating edibles a lot lately and am currently on a nice dose of medicated peanut butter and 150mg of flmodafinil. It is almost like a war between the two since one is an upper and the other is a downer. I feel very ready to get shit done and creative. But I still get distracted and end up writing stuff like this.

In my opinion I dont think they have any negative effects when combined. They may cancel each other out to an extent but all in all I like the feeling even though I wish I was playing a game instead of working, and maybe had some gummies.

Side note on flmodafinil: I bought this before I ran out of armodafinil as backup after reading it was a lot stronger and most dose at around 50mg. It did not seem to impressive at 50mg, 75mg or 100mg. Today I took 150mg and it was like the first time taking a full armodafinil. Going to get more Armodafinil though as it seems more reliable.

As far as the cannabis goes it sounds like Indica, do you use sativa? It's the opposite of lazy for most people.

I sativa when I can find it. Just seems like most everything is hybrid anymore. Used to grow a few nice sativa strains that I wish I still had.

I would not say that it energizes me per se. It is more so like it does not make me lazy like a heavy indica would. I do like sativa strains they just seem like getting a straight sativa or indica is getting harder and harder. There are just so many hybrids out there.

I think it's great if you know your rhythm with both. The cycles are pretty different, especially if you are smoking your cannabis.

I take edible cannabis 3 times a week and moda 3 to 4 times a week. Never really on the same day unless i started it with an early moda and a late afternoon edible then a night out. It seems pretty sustainable, some weeks I go a little more or less on either.

Depends on what mode I am in. If I am exercising and eating healthy, not drinking I can get 36 hours with not too much payback. If I am on the other end of the spectrum an all nighter is it.

I'm hopeless at staying awake, always the 1st to fall asleep. With modafanil I can pull an all nighter and not be a freak show until 4 in the afternoon the next day. For me that is insane.

I take modafinil in the morning, 4 days a week. It never seems to keep me awake but I do notice that on the secomd day of not taking moda I have a worse nights sleep.

I would say socializing with small groups of people like family and people that know you well. With bigger crowds I think it actually helps with strangers.

I just finished my first dozen or so capsules of Modafinil after first learning about it here. All in all I would say its been a quite good experience. My only tip for the peeps is don't gauge your experience on your 1st or second dose. For me these experiences were like a recreational drug, pretty amazing even like "Limitless" a bit. Doses 3 through 5 were actually disappointing, the euphoria and sense of being in control of the universe disappeared and I was anxious, maybe just from being bummed. After that things kind of stabilized and now I just feel more alert and focused like the man says. I will continue using a couple of times a week until I have a holiday from work.
