I keep getting orders posted with 24hr delivery that arrive up to 5 days later, I'm sick of it and wondering if it's royal mail being idiots or whether the vendor is marking it as posted days before it's been sent? Do people do this? I'm just annoyed cos I'm paying through the nose for postage I'm not getting

Hello biggas! Drizzlays Adventures in cannabis baking pt 2 - This week my lecithin arrived! I was excited to use it.

For those not familiar with lecithin it's essential for infusing with extracts because it reduces the surface tension of the oil, allowing it to dissolve into the carrier. It's naturally found in eggs, salmon, and beans, and is coincidentally great for brain health. I used sunflower lecithin.

I decided to use my distillate to make weed oil this time, removing the room for error with making gummies (although with the power of lecithin I might crack that too!)

I used olive oil as a carrier, I would have used coconut but it's solid at room temperature and I wanted to use it in a dropper bottle.

I used an old empty bottle from our friends at mjconcentrates (love them) filled it almost full with olive oil to measure it then I emptied that into a glass bowl immersed In a small saucepan of simmering water.

I waved the distillate syringe under a hairdryer for a minute to heat it up - by far the easiest way of melting it I've found - then put that with the olive oil in the glass bowl

The distillate melted quickly but you could see big drops of fat and it wasnt mixing

Time for lecithin! I added a few drops and just like magic the globules dissolved into smaller droplets, and eventually mixed in to make a greener, more cloudy oil.

I simmered it for a few minutes until foam started to form. Nobody warned me about foam!?
Not quite sure if that's bad. But anyway.

I duly took it off the heat and used the pipette to stash it back in the bottle.

Now I had to figure out how to dose it. It's kicking in so this is getting harder to write.

if you use the assumption that a 100% THC 1ml of distillate has 1000mg of THC, then you can use the percentage THC to calculate the dose. So 80% THC would be 0.8, *1000 is 800mg total. That's what google told me to do so I really hope it's correct

I dissolved half a ml, so 400mg In the 10ml bottle. So 40mg a ml, a drop is 0.05 ml so 20drops = 40mg. I hope that's right anyway because I just did 20 lol.

Hello biggas! Hope all is well! This is my gummy making journey so far!

I have been interested in making my own edibles just for fun really, and I've been experimenting with RSO gummies.

The first ones were a disaster, soggy and never dried up, second were too firm, third batch was just right.

However, dosing was a disaster! Some gummies sent you to space, some took you nowhere.

This is my recipe so far for good gummies without extract:
1 x 8oz packet of jelly mix
3 x sachet of gelatin
2/3 of a cup of water or juice
Half tsp of citric acid

Add liquid to jelly and gelatin In a Pyrex jug, leave to bloom for 10 minutes.

Put Pyrex in a low simmering (but not boiling) water bath until the mixture becomes liquid

Scoop off any foam

Add citric acid

Remove from heat, pour into molds and set.

This recipe makes excellent gummies, but as I said before it's the adding extract which has stumped me! I was warming it and adding to the mixture just before pouring, but with mixed results.

Apparently I need to distribute the RSO In glycerine, and add soya lecithin.

Unfortunately the recipe asks for a liquid mould inhibitor which I can't get, although I've got some powdered potassium sorbate so will be experimenting with that. Although some places say if the water content is low they don't need preservatives?

Anyone had any luck preserving gummies? And how to dose correctly? I've seen some people saying they dose each gummy individually but that seems laborious.

Also interested in using distillate and shatter In future but RSO seems like a good beginner starter.
