I did something similar man, I didn’t even notice that there was network fees for the longest time. Only really cared about them when they shot up. I’m with Luno and just checked, currently at £24 to send any amount of coin but it changes all the time. It was up at like £43 the other day or something? Mental. I read that they tend to reduce late at night/early morning, and I have noticed this myself but it’s still a killer. I know fuck all about this stuff other than this like. Not sure if this is the new norm or if an alternative can be sorted out. We’ll need to wait and see I suppose.

Fees were sky high a few yrs back and nothing changed.

I've lost a lot of money on this lately and haven't got a clue how to navigate the refunds because the system only shows the account that paid out but doesn't show where it went on the block chain.

An alternative exchange might be able to reduce your fees but it means that the transaction time will be slowed down and it might take significantly longer to clear than normal.
Unless you are making an order in the region of $100 dollars or so with coinbase fees it hardly seems worth it either. The fees will come down once the excitement around the prospect of the incipient crypto bull market calms down.
There are developers working on an alternative crypto payment method for this site which would be much cheaper and more stable than BTC value.

Can someone tell me how Gassed can carry on taking money and no red flags. If I had noticed the amount of people (my fault) who's orders have been cancelled I would have dodged this seller. I must say this is a great site even although I've only used 3 times lost twice purchased once

Gassed won't have taken anything mate, your money is held by Transaxe and if your order is cancelled you'll hopefully have it returned soon.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. It's always worth dropping a vendor a quick message if you're not sure about anything.

So trying to order but my wallet is quoting nearly 30 dollars for 170 sat/b vs Mempool saying around 100 sat/vb is 10 dollars. What's the difference between sat/vb vs the sat/b my wallet is talking about?

I'd set a custom fee but I did that yesterday and it would not confirm.

Any ideas? I really don't want to have to cancel again.

Any idea about the query? All of this selecting your own fees thing confused me before it all went crazy, let alone sat/vB Vs sat/B. Anything that reduces fees and gets us all weed more quickly has to be a good thing.

The OP's wallet has RBF (Replace By Fee) obviously.
if the OP's wallet is saying 170 sat/b, after the transaction, because of RBF, the effective fee will indeed be around 100 sat/b.
RBF takes a big chunk of the fees, cause it sends a small amount back to your own wallet.(Incase you have to increase fees to move a stuck transaction.)
you increase fees on the the small amount that was sent back to your wallet and that will push the transaction through, and in my experience all transactions stuck on your wallet also.
When i buy and need to send, if mempool is saying 100 sat, for me that means i have to send way more than 100, all because of RBF.

I was able to select a lower mining fee than the recommended one as I was being tight and hoped for the best, unfortunately that would not allow the transaction to be confirmed so I cancelled the order lb end and now I'm stuck I've messaged transaxe,refund borg. Hopefully I can get coin back. Never had to cancel before. I was hoping it just got returned that don't seem the case tho. Transaction still showing as pending on the blockchain. 🤞

Yeah, it isn't returned automatically, but it goes into escrow. Now, where do you stand from a refund perspective if it isn't confirmed at their end? They can't refund something not received, after all. I'd usually assure you that everything would be fine, and it would all sort itself out soon, but I didn't want to buy 0.011 BTC at £365ish yesterday, and it's now £415ish, and fees have jumped to over 200 sat/vB now too.

Yeah, that's the status of them getting the initial signal that that transaction is being sent to them. When that transaction has 1 of 4 confirmations it's marked as paid. Until that happens this is in limbo, so you can't be refunded, as they don't currently have your coin. Usually this wouldn't take long to resolve, but I've recently had referral payments from Transaxe fail due to the long timeframe from sending. It's the first time I've seen that status on a transaction in my wallet, and I have no idea what happens now. Good luck.

Fuck my old boots! Just paid £16 fees for a £90 order on here!! Wtf is going on? Hadn’t bought anything for a month last time it was about half that which is still bad enough, and that’s from Bittylicious.
Absolute rip off.
Gonna have to consider seriously buying from here from now on as it’s ridiculous now.

Tried to do a $80 order, lost £4 just buying the coin, then the fee to transfer to my payment wallet is currently £13.50, I stopped there as knew there will be a similar fee to pay for the order here on LB and total loss to £70 would be about £25-30 leaving not enough for a 7g weekend order. I mean come on. So looks like this xmas will be dry as no way I’m sinking a a few hundred into BTC to then see it get destroyed by fees. This surely will affect trade.
