Hey biggaz any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Iβm currently trying to quit both tobacco and combustion. I usually smoke flower with a small amount baccy and have done so ever since i started 10+ years ago. Iβve tried to quit baccy in the past and the thing iβve found hardest is that i really enjoy the throat hit and nothing seems to compare, even with bongs and dabs i just never seem to be able to get the same throat hit.
Iβve started using LR carts and a 510 battery which has been great so far (any recommendations of good LR carts on here would be great as well) but thatβs mainly for when iβm out the house and i still smoke multiple times a day.
Decided itβs time for a dry herb vape and iβve been looking at the wolkenkraft aris as a first purchase, itβs got everything i think iβd need in a vape, convection, easy clean, precise temp control. i would be vaping my bud from around 180-210 celsius (any advice on better temp ranges would be great).
iβve also seen lots of info on the dynavap, but it seems like some people really love it and some people canβt get the hang of it so iβm not sure how iβd get along with it since iβm new to vaping.
Has anyone ever used both dynavap and a convection vape, and if so how do they compare in terms of the actual hit itself and also the high afterwards? Iβd love to get both but unfortunately they are both very expensive for me and I can barely afford 1 for the time being so iβd be gutted to waste my money on something that doesnβt work for me.
I would ideally like something i could use for both flower and concentrates/waxβs, but i can imagine budder/wax would melt down and clog up the vape so maybe best to use shatters/crumbles? or maybe best to get something separate later down the line for concentrates?

I quit 5 years ago, getting over smoking nicotine with weed was difficult, like Mr Geeseeks I tried a joint a few months after and the taste was vile I put it out. I just stick to my mighty and puffco peak pro now no more coughing my guts up in the morning, best of luck π

I think the first couple weeks will be a bit difficult for me as well, but iβm hoping the flavour profile and experience from vaping and my tiny amount of self discipline will be enough to keep me from going back to it π

I quit baccy 4 months ago by using dry herb vapes. After a month I cracked and ended up having a baccy spliff. It tasted horrible, made me feel sick and gave me a headache. Completely fucked up my high. Which was a blessing cause it made me realise I was done with tobacco and cannabis is soooo much better on itβs on.
Now I still vape, sometimes hit up my pipe and if I crave a spliff kinda experience I mix vaped weed with non vaped weed.
For me it was about quitting tobacco cause I smoked rollies too and less about combustion.
I find that the more you vape the easier it is too get the draw you like, such as deep, warm throaty tokes.
Anywaysβ¦I feel so much better being tobacco/ nicotine free and it wonβt take long for you to start feeling the benefits once you quit.

I've had a dynavap for 2 years now, and been using it exclusively since April so i'll try and share some of the things i've picked up.
Packing:
Fill your cap with weed and lightly tamp it down so theres a small gap between the top of the cap and your weed.
You dont want to pack it too tight or you risk combusting.
You can tamp it all the way down, but only do a medium temp heat cycle as it will absorb the heat much faster making a medium temp hit essentially a high temp hit.
Lighter:
You're gonna want a single flame jet lighter (i got a Β£8 jopoo one off amazon 2 years ago and it still works). Set it to the lowest flame height and hold the lighter in a way that just the very tip of the flame hits the cap.
You're moreso heating the cap with the hot air the lighter creates rather than the flame itself.
Heating:
Aim for just above the V on the cap, and spin the dynavap around, as fast as you can really.
Once you hear the first click, you can decide if you want a low or high temp hit; keep the flame on the V for high temp (you risk combusting if you go too hot).
Move the flame up and down the cap repeatedly for medium temp, and move the flame to the very top of the cap for low temp.
Eventually you'll get a sort of sixth sense for how hot the cap is getting and how to avoid combusting, but it takes some getting used to.
Pulling:
Once the second click happens (it's a lot louder and you can see the cap visibly move), pull lightly on the mouthpiece with the airhole completely open for the first puff. For the second puff you want to open and close the hole rapidly, and for any subsequent puffs just close the hole completely and pull as hard as you can.
Cleaning/Reclaim:
Every 10/20 hits you probably want to clean out the cap with some iso alcohol and cotton buds, but clean immediately if you combust a hit as it can ruin the taste of your next few hits.
Inside the stem of the dynavap is a metal tube called the condenser which will fill with reclaim that is essentially a low quality concentrate. You can push a cotton bud through the tube and throw it out.
But personally, I stand the cap up on a surface packed about half full with bud, hold the condenser vertically above it and heat it with my lighter so most of the reclaim drains out into the bud. then pack more bud on top, and enjoy!
Forbidden techniques:
Once you become a dynavap blackbelt, go to either recommendedvapesupplies.co.uk or tandeminnovations.de and pick up an X2 or X3. they're adapters that let you put more caps on your device so you can get massive hits.
Hope some of that helps, and good luck quitting the baccy!

bowl size depends on the model you get (newer model = bigger chamber i think), i have the 2021 M with the titanium cap and it can fit about 0.05G on a light pack and 0.1G + some kief on a tight pack.
as for hits, i get around 3 on one perfect high temp cycle, first hit being the biggest then it tapers off as you go. that typically drains all the THC from the bud in one cycle.
if you go for a lighter temp you could probably get two decent/small hits per cycle that taste really nice and get two cycles in before it's drained.
personally i always just try to drain it in one cycle with big hits, gets you completely ripped lol.
so far i haven't got any attachments for it, the base model really is all you need! the X2 is definitely on my christmas list, though i've heard it works better if you get a bigger stem + silver jackets for the tips that spread the heat evenly

I have now completely quit combustibles, having switched to a Crafty+. Hopefully, I can give you some early user insights.
Pros:
1. Health. I appreciate this may be a downside for you, but vaping is much gentler on your lungs and throat. No longer inhaling charred plant matter is another plus. Higher temps (190+) can cause a little irritation, but not so much as smoking. If nothing else, the difference in taste makes up for it, I promise.
2. Efficiency. A fully packed chamber can last me through several highs (admittedly, I have no tolerance, so YMMV). I am also planning to make edibles with the AVB in the new year; never before has my bud been stretched further.
3. Customizable high. Smoking was awkward because I'd have to eyeball how much weed I wanted, eyeball an amount of marshmallow leaf to 'fill' the joint with, and that was that. I can now stop when I feel high enough. Also, I have noticed the temperature affects how the high feels. Lower (around 165) gives me a lighter high, where I am a lot more functional. Higher temps are great for conking me out before bed, haha.
Cons:
1. Learning curve. I suuucked at using the Crafty+ at first (and still suck a little bit). The good news is, with practice, you will get the hang of it. But I definitely had a period of inconsistent highs whilst I experimented.
2. Battery. Honestly, it is a pain having to remember to recharge. While the Crafty+ is great in many other respects, I wish there was even a rubbish 1990s-era LCD screen to warn me it is on the cusp of dying (there is an app, but it is very unreliable - I have started it with apparently half battery, only for it to die on me anyway). So, while I don't have a Dynavap M, I am hoping to get one as my next device to avoid this issue.
But, overall, I am happy with switching to dry herb vaping. I would recommend.

You are certainly making the right decision to move away from combustion. The DynavapM is the gateway device for joint rollers to get into vaping as it offers a similar tactile set up and butane fire up. It does have a learning curve but most rate them and you are only about Β£60 in the hole (before all the add ons start to lure you!π«£)

Ah yeah i thought it might be best to get a separate dabbing device iβll definitely look into the coil king, thanks for the advice π iβve definitely found my tolerance quickly rising since iβve been on the resin carts so i think variety is 100% the best way to enjoying bud fully and to keep the tolerance in check.

Good luck, it's tough getting off nicotine,it won't be easy but it's doable,if I can do it you can, I used a vape with low nicotine content for a few weeks then cold turkey with cbd liquid in it to replace roll ups, I quit weed for 2 months at the same time,untill i found out about dry herb vapes, now even combusting pure joints taste disgusting, in the end it's well worth it.

Also, now july 2022 sad to say Pistach has a very dark weak Trimm. Use to be the best in the LB but lately not so good. I used to get half ounce with Pistach and half from RealiD every week (Trimms).
