Interesting study here suggesting that although microdosing does have benefits those benefits are unlikely to arise from the pharmacological process of psilocybin and LSD and that they’re akin to a placebo. Despite that I still don’t believe microdosing to be useless in that regard as the placebo effect is a very interesting subject in itself. Studies show placebos still have real effects even when the individual knows they’re taking a placebo. Even medical conditions which have always been treated via surgery such as fusing vertebrae to stop back pain have been shown to be effectively treated by placebo operations (as in literally making the individual think they’re being operated on but the surgeon doesn’t actually do anything). I used to think spiritual healing such as crystal light therapy was all bullshit but actually if you consider the placebo effect there may be no direct benefits from the method of spiritual healing but the individual may still get real world benefits from their belief that they would get benefits.
