Hi Muncher! thc potency degrades mostly when hash/bud is not stored right and/or have excessive humidity in it (not dried properly/kept in too of a humid surrounding). when stored right in a form of hashish, cannabinoids and terpense create new compounds together with time. also it's one of 3 main reason man made hash in the first place (as far as I know): 1. the ability to store it for long periods of time in large quantities 2. the ability to carry it easily from place to place 3. potency, like with other herbal extarcts (also landrace cannabis buds tend to be lower on resin than modern hybrid buds obviously). there is much to say on this subject, and I intend to post more on this, but for now a few key points (from my point of view): hashish, when produced and stored properly form an outer layer of resin that bind together and protect it's inside structure like many other materials preserved in resin do and can last for years (eg. any kind of bugs/flowers/plants/etc that are preserved in resin). some methods of curing (eg drying the plants exposed to full sun in the field or letting the plants cure for a very long time) can make the hash much higher in cbn and lower in thc as the result of thc oxidation is cbn creation. cbn is "believed to play a significant role in the sedative effect cannabis has on users. This makes it a viable treatment for insomnia. Additionally, CBN exhibits antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, appetite-stimulating, analgesic, and glaucoma relieving attributes. Given that the only way to get CBN is through the oxidation of THC, this may be the one incentive you have for actually expediting THC’s degradation process. (wikileaf)" thus why some of the landrace hash are more sedative than others. this is such a broad subject and I get so much joy talking about it I think I'll make a post or two with more of the information I goton it. cheers and peace upon all!

oh and about malana. (very) fortunately I've got to walk up and visit the village of malana some years back, and to taste it's glorified malana cream which was really amazing! there was also alot of not so good charas available there and I had to snoop around for a while to be able to put my hand on it :) but gladly I did. I didn't however got to partake in a production session as I was not there in the making season. I don't know of any other extra ordinary process they use in malana that is different from other places chars making method. about the general process of charas making I'll try to make a separate post. cheers!

odds are that your friend got offered with some regular charas (that might have been great aswell) but not the cream.
like I said, it took some serious snooping around to get it, and in india like in india, even the guy that ended up providing me with it had started with offering me lower grades of charas and brought me the cream only after some bargaining, which as a middle-eastern native - I'm kind of used to ;) as much as I know in the case of malana cream the name refers mostly to a very fresh collected trichomes of their best quality rub (not yet cured in the ground as they do in parvati area) which is so fresh it had the consistency of a paste. I've actually purchased a whole disc wrapped in plastic which was like 30 or 40 grams only for my self that lasted me long enough for it to acquire the consistency of hash/cured charas over time (few months, it wasn't the only type I was smoking:). Cream charas also refer to the out come of the most gentle rub of buds between the hands and collecting only the most easily separating trichomes with no plant matter at all. this kind of cream is rarely out for sale and one has to make it him/her self or know someone who did and is happy to share their stash. this kind of cream can be made any where cannabis grows and has the genetics that suit hand rubbing charas (not all cannabis strains are suitable for hand collections eg. african sativas that tend to have very small and less oily trichomes structure that makes it difficult to collect by sticking to hands). cheers mate!!

Just to be clear,this is distillate and MCT oil making up a tincture not hash oil or RSO. Having said that,it sounds good and it's just a question of time before I score some myself.

Cakemuncher asks a good question too, I can't find any info on 'caliplug' except there a lifestyle store selling some mercy (clothes hats and crap).

I can't find a single dispensary that stocks these either so if the seller has more info that would be good... Everything I'm reading is saying these don't exist as a real brand anywhere its just packaging which is a lot like the 'dank vapes' never an official company but had packaging.

Am sure cali plug have their own weed unless it is just packaging i havent really heard of them that much
