Hello biggas! This is just a post to say that the capsules are back in stock and to explain how mg is figured out without any fancy testing equipment. This is about to get complicated!

Firstly, just as a baseline, we look up previous tests of the strain we've got, as well as what the breeder says it should test out to. Then we take 4 individual grams of the starting material and press them into rosin. No matter the strain, flower/shake rosin tends to average around 60% THC, which would mean 1 gram contains approximately 600mg of THC. So if, for example, the gram of starting material yields 0.2 grams of rosin, that's 20% or 1/5 of the total weight, 1/5 of the 600mg in a gram of rosin would be 120, meaning that the flower contains 120mg per gram or 12% THC overall, not including terps and other cannabinoids. We use a good quality 5 ton press so the vast majority will be extracted, but there's always a small amount (under 0.05g) stuck in the rosin bags, so if the calculations work out to be 12% THC, it's more likely closer to 13%. If that happens I tend to just meet in the middle and say the flower contains roughly 125mg per gram, so if there's 0.2 grams in each capsule, that works out to 25mg a piece. If the capsules can fit more, for example 0.3g, we grind up the leftover fan leaf (after washing) to add to the mix, making sure that each capsule still contains 0.2 grams of the good quality starting material. Countless pairs of disposable gloves have been used during this process and no part of the capsules will have been touched by a human hand until you open them up, to ensure no cross contamination or safety concerns. All equipment was sterilised with isopropyl alcohol before use.

Seeing as we don't have fancy testing equipment that costs thousands, this is the best way to determine milligrams per product. The capsules have been tested by multiple people, all with different tolerances, both with and without food, to ensure that 25mg feels like it should!


Other ways people determine milligrams would be:
1. If distillate or concentrates are used, 1 gram (or ml in the case of distillate) would just be called 1000mg and things are divided from there.
2. If flower is used, most people tend to take a blind guess that the flower is 20% THC, so 200mg per gram, and work it out from there.
3. If flower is used and the maker is less scrupulous or knowledgeable, they'll just call 1 gram 1000mg. Judging by effects, I think a lot of UK edibles are made this way.
