I have recently received yet another order from a UK vendor selling a product they claim to be Live Resin. Upon arrival it is the same lab whipped up D9 soaked in terps.

I’m starting to think that there aren’t actually any genuine extracts to be had in the UK. Everyone seems to have this sugar, crystalized junk soaked in terps.

I’ve had legit multiple times from the LB US link (sayno***). I’ve not had anything genuine from the UK for at least 6 months.

Off the top of my head I’ve tried myconauts, Dr D (used to be good), dopey & most recently Canadian imports. Generally, all the big-name suppliers on here & a few others.

Not tried the hash collective yet though.
Is it even worth buying extracts in the UK anymore.

I'm looking into getting back in the rosin game at some point in the near future... all home-pressed, no solvents and definitely no disty or added terps involved. The market for it wasn't too big when I dipped my toe but it seems like the niche is definitely there. Got another thing in mind for the moment but definitely keep your eyes peeled in Feb!

I think the confusion might be with the " live resin " tag being put on anything that started out as fresh frozen material, even if it is then distilled and processed the same way as a cured resin

Agreed, that doesn’t help. Vendors should know what the product are that they are selling & describe it appropriately.
That all said, this stuff that has flooded the market is neither live or cured resin. Its lab processed D9. I’ve had it from countless vendors on here & a few on tes*eract.

Myconauts live resin was fake. I've not tried any of their new offerings since they've got they're Thai connection.
Obviously I can't say anything for sure as I haven't seen up close or toked what you have pictured there but it kinda looks like the stuff I'm complaining about.

Is it though? I'm not trying to get in your face jcbus. I have no beef with you. Vendors are claiming their products come from here there & everywhere. The last one I got was from Canadian Imports, so supposedly from Canada.
Maybe some of this stuff is whipped up in labs abroad & shipped to the UK for sale.
What I can tell you is that none of the extracts from the legal markets look or hit like what we are getting over here from the UK based vendors.

A little help with Live Resin

Long term toker here but only just getting into concentrates, in particular carts (because I’m lazy).
I was under the impression that one of the main selling points of live resin was that you got the full extraction of that particular strain & as such a fairly like for like high from it. If I’m wrong please feel free to correct me.

Yesterday I stumbled upon a listing on a DM offering generic live resin which could be bought I mixed with your own terps or bought with terps of choice pre-mixed into it.

That’s kind of worrying for me as an end user. I can see how that may be beneficial for someone in the carts & concentrates game.

If I’m buying a live resin cart of say Amnesia I kind of expect what’s in that cart to have been extracted from an Amnesia plant, not some generic live resin with Amnesia terps mixed in.
I may be being naïve here (wouldn’t be the first time). Is this the norm these days? What do you guys/girls think of this?

Unfortunately you are mistaken. ‘Live Resin’ is made from freshly frozen material but the extraction methods are the same as distillate. This means the terpenes are destroyed in the process and added back in afterwards.

To get an all natural product you need Rosin which is produced using only heat and pressure. The problem there is that it’s generally too thick to vape well so needs to be diluted with ‘something’. The ‘something’ is usually undeclared….

Ok thanks for setting me straight pollypuff23. I was under the impression that different extraction methods were used. Ethanol vs BHO to name but a few. Do you by any chance have any weblinks to sites hosting more info about each extraction method & the end results?

You are definitely right that propane and butane do a good job with preserving the terpenes of frozen (live) good quality plant and it’s part of the reason it’s more expensive than distillate and may deliver that elusive full spectrum effect in a way that distillate won’t. It’s just highly debatable whether the particular facets of a single strain will survive the process.

The uncomfortable truth is that many liquids are produced using cheap bulk flower of mixed strains anyway, regardless of the marketing 🫣

Yeah that is the impression I am getting. So many unscrupulous practices in the weed world. I shouldn’t be surprised. That’s always how its been.
Well I guess the only option is to stick to named dispensary grade live resin, rosin & hope for the best. That or start growing again!

Best alt to CCELL disposables?

I tend to buy vape oil from the good Dr in 5 ml syringes and thus far have been getting by refilling the black ccell disposables which I found are the most consistent in not clogging and just putting through ml after ml with minimal issues. I have tried ordering the tanks that are advertised as being for 'thick oil' that are available from Amazon and eBay but I find they tend to clog and seem to drink the oil very quickly into the breather system... anyone else? I consider myself quite an experience vaper and I'm always quite careful to store things upright and try hard to avoid clogging but does anyone have some tips on how to keep these carts functioning consistently and (critically ) not drinking oil? Am I doing something wrong?! Ccells aren't available now in the UK obviously and I'm struggling to find any to buy, so if anyone has a hookup or knows a really good alternative please let me know. As a fellow vaper with a penchant for penny pinching, i have tried most of the disposable Amazon ones, and find that i feel fortunate if i can get through the maiden fill without any clogging based calamities. The ones that make it are refilled 1 more time and then disposed of.
I am now currently using ones purchased on ebay that were very cheap indeed!
But!
When i use my jet flame lighter to loosen distillate from sides, the glass is "distorting" and changing shape!
They're not plastic, but non pyrex type glass.
I'm down to dregs now on 1st cart, and these are the first carts so far that have not even gurgled, and airflow is as new.
£15 ish for 10

Cheers for that, very helpful...yes I've bought a couple of those 5-packs of carts from Amazon before with he usual mixed results lol. Ideally I'd like to move over fully to the Dr's rosin extracts anyway, so just ordered a Yocan XL (£24) off Amazon, which I've seen from YouTube appears to rip pretty well for a fully portable, which is what I need. Will update this in due course :)

Strangely, i also have a Yocan Evolve XL, however, i should have read reviews more thoroughly, as it failed after a month with the power button disintegrating!
Rather than buy another, i purchased a decent standard mod box, with adjustable voltage and wattage, and now use the Yocan coil, coil holder and cap on the box, and disposed of the Yocan battery.
I will pre warn that the hit is absolutely savage.
A standard ccell vape is like drinking shandy, the Yocan is like snorting absinthe!!!

This is a much more serious issue than is being talked about on here. Most folk seem quite blasé about it but having experienced an audit first-hand they dont play around. LB`s reliance on a single form of Crypto has always been a bit of an issue but from next year (probably later this year tbh) it's going to become a very serious problem I suspect. I love this place & want to see it continue & grow but if it just stays as-is in the face of the new regs I`m not sure how it survives.

Anyone who has not actually looked at the reporting requirements should have a proper look at them. It's bad enough as a customer, as a vendor I would be very nervous I think.

Is it a solvable problem? Yes of course it is, all problems are but given we have be clamouring for alternative payment options for literally years at this point & we are still stuck on BTC only I`m not sure it will get solved.

Governments were never going to tolerate the "Wild West" approach of Crypto for very long, they like control too much.I am reluctantly looking into other options as I dont need the stress of every transaction potentially triggering an investigation. What would you realistically tell them anyway?

We could be, but it’s financial services, and those guys don’t mess about when it comes to keeping their house in order. Perhaps it’s time to lay low and see where the dust settles. I just hope LB comes up with some alternative ways for users to purchase now that doesn’t drag us all down via the taxman

The way I've dealt wiht it is that I closed my Revolut account at the end of 2024 and am siting tight and watching what will happen next.

small time weed buyers using crypto will not be fined. The fines mentioned in the article are for the companies themselves. The regulations may make buying more problematic from Jan 2026 onwards. Peoples accounts may be restricted or suspended, but there will be no financial or legal difficulties for past buying behaviour.

I totally agree with this. We keep getting our knickers in a twist but there is no offence of buying weed online -offences cover possession and supply not crypto purchases for personal use. Sure companies can ask for more information about your transaction but I do not think they’re going to be able to check that information. My bank contacted me several times wanting to know about my small purchases of crypto. The first time I told them I was building a crypto portfolio. The second time I said I was buying medicinal cannabis. They said that’s okay we just need to make sure you are not being coerced or scammed. I really wonder whether anybody gives a shit about personal use by post.

I'm not 100% certain of what will happen but I can tell you I'm already being burned by mandatory reporting of online selling platforms to the Taxman. They use AI to sift through the data and spot suspicious transactions.

Right now my approach is lto lay low and investigating P2P / non-KYC.

Sorry mate, but am I missing a point here? Surely you are only liable for tax on your crypto earnings. What’s that gotto do with buying weed? Personally I don’t stake any crypto. I literally just load up my wallet when I want to buy so where is the problem?

You are, Pol. They consider potential profit at the time of disposal of the crypto (in this case, by buying weed) for the purposes of Capital Gains. The threshold for that is £1k, I believe, so I can't see that I'd need to declare, as I rarely hold it for long, and often also make losses which would offset the gains. Hopefully they either don't notice, or agree if they do...

Technically if you make less than 3K£ of Capital Gains in 25/26 you should not pay CGT.

The problem is that they expect you to keep the following records in case they carry a compliance check:

You must keep separate records for each transaction, including:

type of tokens
date you disposed of them
number of tokens you’ve disposed of
number of tokens you have left
value of the tokens in pound sterling
bank statements
a record of the pooled costs before and after you disposed of them

You may also want to keep other records such as wallet addresses.

HMRC might ask to see your records if they carry out a compliance check.

Some cryptoasset exchanges can provide reports of your transactions. These reports can be essential for working out how much tax you owe. However, these reports are not tax calculations and will not keep track of your pooled costs.

I guess we'll have to wait and see but if I got a letter from the Revenue tomorrow then I would reply with a big fat duck egg '£0' and if they wanted the detail I would print off my exchange transaction sheet. Job done...don't see the issue.
There is a tendency to see ghosts in the shadows simply because we are buying drugs.

I do agree however that we are not exempted by the small transaction size. That actually makes us the low hanging fruit. Its so much easier to come after us than the big boys. Its the same reason why Coinbase have cancelled so many accounts- show the regulators some (meaningless) action whilst letting the players play...

For buyers the most worrying issue IMO isn’t HMRC saying we owe tax (though a 20% effective rise on weed prices certainly isn’t good)….
The most worrying side of this is the very real risk of having your bank account closed due to using it for illegal activity.
I know 2 different people who had their revolut accounts closed because they were regularly buying crypto but had no legit source of income.

For most people - I assume - a Revolut account is usually secondary to their primary account.

If no fraud charges are forthcoming, and the account was closed due to Revolut crypto policies, the individual can surely just open a new account with a different bank.

It's obviously not ideal, but not really a concern.

Banks are in no way obligated/legally required to let you open an account with them & they don’t even need to tell a reason if they decline your application. Banks also very much share information between each other.
Sure if you get one account closed for using crypto for illegal activity, you can probably open another account with a different bank…but what happens when that account also gets closed down? There is not an unlimited amount of banks in the uk. From what I’ve read from 2026 banks will be taking much more interest in any crypto transactions.
Plus having an account closed can’t look good for anything like mortgage/loan applications etc.
Personally I am very concerned about these upcoming new crypto reporting rules.
Pretty sure I read the free tax limit is being reduced from £3000 to £1000 also

All of the uncertainty surrounding the future of crypto purchasing, really just reiterates the need for legalisation. Especially with the potential financial benefit to the economy.

I would like to see more visibility of the issue in the media, promoting the impact this would have for the country. Less about the medicinal benefits, because people are more closed minded to these facts. We need the support of the consumers in high profile jobs, government officials and civil servants, people whose voice would be heard by those in power.

Outing yourself as a cannabis user publicly carries the obvious risks, but without standing up to be counted, the true scale of our impact will never be felt.

Personally, I am ready for a nation wide #iheartcannabis moment.

See for yourself on their web site but I have read that they consider "disposal of crypto" to be taxable.

I've said this before but Finance staff at work said that this means taxing you twice: once on the cash you use to purchase crypto and once on the crypto you dispose of.

As I've said many times I've taken a duck and cover approach for now until early 2026 when this will be settled as we'll all find out whether or not they will tax people who purchased goods and services using crypto.

CGT allowance is 3000£ for 25/26.

You are expected to track and report every transaction where you dispose of crypto to purchase services and goods even if it's a loss.

From the horse's mouth:
Individuals need to calculate their gain or loss when they dispose of their tokens to find out whether they need to pay Capital Gains Tax. A ‘disposal’ is a broad concept and includes:

selling tokens for money
exchanging tokens for a different type of token
using tokens to pay for goods or services
giving away tokens to another person (unless it’s a gift to their spouse or civil partner)

I am like you I never hold onto crypto but if I do not report those disposals and they start mining the data sent to them by the UK KYC Exchanges they will come for me with big trouble.

You might think that they won't have the staff and resources but the bastards now use AI to mine the data, I even found an FOI from late 24 where someone was asking them to divulgate the AI algorithmn which they use and they blocked it.

I'm not trying to be difficult but we seem to be going around in circles here. My point is about biggas being at risk because they are buying drugs using crypto. I'm saying there is no risk in that respect. I totally get it that CGT is payable on crypto earnings and that Ruxxy for example stakes crypto as well as doing vast numbers of sizeable transactions (lucky sod!). In my case I could look at my exchange record, see maybe 100 transactions with a total value of c.£5k but it also shows the rate the crypto was bought at and transferred and its virtually the same because I am only buying to spend. There is no gain or loss. That information is sitting there for anyone who wants to see it and why should I care? Even if they hold me down and beat me until I tell them about all my tiny weed purchases online I still haven't done anything wrong.

I'm looking at it from the drugs angle mate not a tax issue. Where its a much bigger issue is secondary wholesalers and vendors but I'm guessing they have their methods as do many in Crypto Land...

Stakes it?! I'm the barometer of when not to buy or hold it mate! Genuinely. If you want to know when to buy it's probably when I have to sell (to get weed), and I lose money. That's what annoys me most about all this nonsense. Oh, and they don't take into account any fees you had to pay, they just want their cut. It's all hypothetical until it's cashed out, surely...? Entry and exit of the system are the risk points.

I definitely take your point about large buys though as it's at least £1k/month (well, just under, as then there's no trigger of anything to look into) that I'm getting and not holding for long. There's always some residual amount in the wallet though.

Bear in mdin that I am not an expert, I am not saying that it will happen only that it might happen.

I received a letter about my online selling on digital platforms so I know that they can target people poking around their businesses.

I merely wanted to let biggas know that they have said they would get the exchanges to report to them.

The way I see it the current Gov is squeezing every penny they can from us common people so no sum is too small for them to recover.

I guess if I'm right we'll start hearing some horror stories early next year.

That'll be because selling 30+ items a year regardless of amount makes you a business. Example ebay if you sell 30+ items in a year your details get automatically sent to the tax man. Far as I see if a cap is put on the amount of times you buy crypto to be classed as a trader that'll be a problem but I didn't see that in the article.

I suspect they will request the exchanges to do bulk uploads and wil use AI to spot interesting targets.

They will probably be looking for Capital Gains but what I find worrying is the fact thay they deem disposal of crypto assets to be taxable.

That would means the more you've bought using crypto and the more taxed you will be.

Can’t even spend the money we earned that is already taxed without it being taxed again….wonder what LB can do to adapt for this because it could kill the business on here. Vendors will have their coin sent to non-KYC wallets, and do magical mixing things and transfers before exiting the system (the risk point). Or, they could cycle it back into products and all still be anonymous? Definitely not a risk from this in that scenario, surely?

So thinking about stuff like this ages ago I made an Exodus wallet just to receive my referral payments from here (as obviously I wouldn't want that associated with a non-KYC wallet), and all I ever do with that is buy things from here. Closed system and no association with anything else, or any ID.

HodlHodl does not see too complicated but ther clearly is a trust factor at work.

If I'm lucky I'll be able to go to one of those EU countries where they still have crypto ATMs although the UK clampdown on crypto is part of a wider OECD initiative so I wouldn't be surprised if European ATMs disappear.

Even if they know you’ve made these transactions they cannot technically prove it was cannabis you purchased and received unless they catch you with the product itself. That’s why it would be hard to prove. Still I may use this opportunity to quit smoking again because it’s getting a bit iffy me being honest.

Not a vendor, just super cautious, but the main thing I feel as an initial step would be only having payouts from here sent to a non-KYC wallet like Exodus. You'd need to chat to vendors about mixing and sending to other wallets and how to exit the system

Exodus is a good one, your best bet is to get a ledger. Then nobody knows what you have unless you give it to them, also this place uses transaxe so as a seller it doesn’t go direct to my wallet, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again the best coin on here would be monero as it leaves 0 trace

Hey Family,

We are very sorry if we have disspointed you and your expectations. Can confirm there no fake terps , botanically 100% organic terps been used in these to make experience better as well as all been extracted in dispensary by a brand not us . We dab these on daily basis and smoke in zoots too. Guess its just not for everyone .

Just received a small order and was gutted to see that it was a 2Gs of sprayed weed.

I've seen a tonne of this stuff from street dealers but hoped it wouldn't be on LB and to be fair this is the first I've come across (not going to name the seller but won't be using again.)

I know it's sprayed because the crystals are just a little bit too reflective on the bud and when you grind it and collect the 'kief' the powder compresses into a squidgy hard ball that doesn't burn well under flame and leaves a tarry black ash after a good torching.

I've smoked since I was 16 and I'm 35 so this isn't my first rodeo and this stuff isn't as it should be.

Anyone else seen this on here?

Pretty sure "spayed weed" was anti-drug propaganda in the news and papers in the late 90s and early 00's as the rise of what they called "skunks" took over - only time I've ever heard of it. It doesn't even make sense to be real and I've never seen it or even ever heard anyone say exactly what they think it's sprayed with!

Also think it's odd that when stuff like this comes up the sellers name or strain of weed never gets mentioned.

yes i think it was most likely propaganda too. hopefully this is just another case of too much unmetabolized nutrient salts left in the bud at harvest. i used to grow fairly small plants for my personal and even with organic i had to use light soil and the very minimum amount of nutrients just in the early growth stage to eliminate black/hard ash issues but the results of doing that were generally outstanding levels of quality and flavours

At the zoom level i would find it hard to tell. Great way to check your bud is a jewellers loupe 60* or 90* with a light. At that zoom level it should be possible to confirm.

If you can feel the grit when rubbed on teeth thats no good. Believe some deposits from a grow where nutrients have been heavy handed can also be gritty from online reading.

Have had some street green from years back that had glass beads. This was gritty if you rubbed on teeth and produced a sore throat and chesty cough.
Normal trichs should dissolve when rubbed on teeth.

If you think it is definitely sprayed please name either dealer or strain. Perhaps LB could introduce an initiative if someone gets weed they think is contaminated they could send it off for testing at LB cost.

Personally I've no idea what product that exists you think has been sprayed, or what it is about what you did that brings you to this conclusion. All I see is keif, but every day is a school day.

Any old shit is going $80 a Q on here all day long and you don't get to inspect it in advance, so why bother hunting down such a rare product as a polymer spray that looks like trichomes.

Now I'm nowhere near as experienced as some people here but speaking as someone who's put in a couple of orders with the vendor you're accusing I think this might be a case of something else, or simply you being paranoid.

A few people have mentioned that the trichomes can be affected by the way it was grown and/or harvested. My only issue with Cheesemaster is that sometimes the buds haven't been perfectly cured so from what people have said here that might just be what's happened. I don't mind the lack of curing though and I'm more than happy to support an honest vendor (who's mentioned he's happy to pay for tests btw) that has an organic growing set up. Feels like the weed equivalent of supporting a local business!

I also got a 3.5g order of the Amnesia Lemon (the strain in question) and I never noticed anything untoward about the product and will be ordering from the vendor again in a week or two. Also as someone pointed out, why would someone on LB try and swindle people like this when they could just send any old shit? Sounds like a lot of effort for not much reward.
