Hello all,
Uneducated customer here for using the word Sativa (Me bad)
Been a decent thread and both the main point have been covered by uneducated and educated people my apologies if I'd "glazed over the part where there's people in the topic with decades of experience in the cannabis industry sharing genuine knowledge with thousands of unbiased upvotes"
that was not my intention lol
I always appreciate being educated and the time people take to contribute on topic's like this. I'm always trying to learn and I'm not taking the piss. Since using the site I have learned a great deal about my beloved hobby.
Now just to clarify @failed species I have not seen one comment on here that anyone has put that says that they disagree with the science of what you posted and also the link DeadRabb1T posted.
I don't, and the photo grabs from google was just to be a dick about it as you get what you give lol
So we are all in agreement that no one is arguing with the science of this tread. Good
My first comment closely links into what Sam said.
Uneducated me used the word Sativa because that is how it was described in the listing. Also like most "Consumers" need an indication of what they might or might not expect.
Lifted from sam's comments
It gives the consumer a rough guide as to what they are purchasing and can then tailor to their own needs, mental health or medication.
That is my point, it might not be factually as black and white as Sativa / Indica nothing is but what it does do is give me an indication of what the grower/retailer has listed and their subjective view of the effects that it they think will have on the consumer. Key word being subjective
So this was not answered based on your knowledge. As a retailer/vender how would you list the Imported moon cake?
You have a multitude of vendors and other listings to compete with.
This is a direct lift from DeadRabb1t's link
However, the research shows that plants with the Sativa label are no more genetically similar than plants with an Indica label. Also, chemically there is mainly overlap between these two labels.
“Growers worldwide label their cannabis strains quite subjectively with the terms ‘Indica’ and ‘Sativa’. There’s nothing scientific about that. Unfortunately, retailers and consumers cannot rely on the labels that are stuck to the jars,
3 words that stand out are subjectively, consumers and retailers.
As consumers we need an indication of what the subjective view of the grower/retailer is. So that we can then make an informed choice.
If retailers are putting these labels on it as they think that it has the effects of what is perceived as Indica/Sativa. Subsequently consumers use it as that is common practice. Right or wrong.
We all know that apart from the science which we are all in agreement is fact. Everything else is subjective. Based on your own experience with the bud.
Not to over simplify things but the same approach has been forced on us by retailers for years not just cannabis.
Last thoughts?
All human beings are 99.9 percent identical in their genetic makeup. Am I Human, British, Europen or all???? (Sorry just poking the bear lol)
As a nation we can't fucking agree if a Jaffa Cake is a cake or a biscet. What chance have we with this lol
