Great question especially since very old posts seem to come around quite regularly but LB don’t seem to want to resolve it. Of course the answer is for us all to date our own posts but it’s hard to remember to do it….7/8/23

I’m guessing LB believe it to be a security issue, otherwise it would be very easy to code in. All other user actions are time stamped, private messages, orders etc that aren’t public viewing

True, but if so they could put the whole issue to bed by just saying so. As usual its just the robo head in the sand...lol

Quite ironic how posts with date's are rewarded by the algorithm but they can't implement it as a site feature.

Makes me think it's a security concern or similar issue.

I don't think it's a security issue tbh. My theory is that the algorythm is so bizarre on here that dated posts would expose it.

I've been on here over 3 years and still see threads on the topics page that were on there even before I started.

The first time I came in here (before I had a vendor account) was late 2018 / early 2019, and I'm pretty sure I remember seeing that 'Three Words To Describe Littlebiggy' thread back then..

Last time I saw it on the topics page was yesterday....🤔🤔

How many times do we see posts along the lines of "thanks for the reply but I posted this comment last year...no idea why its at the top of the topics page now?"

The algorythm is just mental and probably doesn't need any exposure as such.

I could be wrong though, the truth is nobody really knows... and it'll never change.

I find private browsing + not logging in keeps new posts at the top. But it would be more convenient to see a date, like so: 07/08/23.

I wonder why they don't add dates and time to posts, is it technically awkward to do? are there security concerns?
