A commercial topic is a topic on on a seller's page or item page.

The wall supports 1 commercial topic per seller at any given time.

Each commercial topic remains on the wonderwall for 2 days +/-

+1 day if date in post
+1 day if unique
+1 day creative

-2 days if promoting item not available yet
-2 days if gross or cheesy
-3 days if same item in last 7 days
-3 days if low value to general public eg "shipping today" "closing next week" "low stock" "my order"
-3 days if mooted eg "happy weekend" on m-f
-3 if promoting an unlisted item or service
-3 days if bumped by correlated user
-3 days if incentivized
-3 days if contraband
-3 days attacking a buyer
- 3 days if fraud suspected

for your 1st week to 10 days you can post on lots of helpful pages where they will be visible. visibility on the wall comes after this.

the wall algo prefers:
non commercial posts
novel images
videos
reviews with images

the wall filters out:
personal attacks
persons that make personal attacks
excessive promotion (eg simultaneous commercial posts, bumping)
excessive punctuation, emojis, capital letters

the wonderwall algorithm gives extra weight to (roughly in order):

posts in languages other than english

non-commercial posts

items that are unusual

items & posts with videos

posts with original images (especially item review posts)

posts with dates

Providing any advantage to users that post on your behalf is prohibited and will result in suspension from the wall.

- users that bump topics

- repetitive promotional posts

- sellers posting on other seller's pages

- tricky voting

- provably false statements, eg when a user without reputation makes reference to prior experiences

just like any traditional marketplace our own bazaar has colorful characters hanging around the entry points. they are often quite helpful and knowledgeable regardless of their motives or hidden affiliations.

correspondingly we also have an analogue to the more annoying tout or seller that won't let you enjoy any peace from their hustling.

constant low value posting to bump threads and promote identity are not welcome and easy to encode away. posts like this are removed from the wall and their authors disreputed.

the wall aims to correlate with votes, not follow them.

when votes conflict with the algorithm it is a learning event, occasionally the algo picks up a new important "theme" from the words of a diverse set of users.

more often the votes expose patterns of behavior related to trolling and fraud and are more useful to the algorithms related to their elimination.
