Can anyone help I'm trying to send £53 to pay for something and Ive added enough funds in my wallet to cover it but when I try and pay it's asking for another £56 for network fees, surely it can't be right? I'll attach a picture, any help appreciated

Coinbase bunch transactions together that is your problem, network fees are fine right now.

This time you can just wait it out, eventually Coinbase's congestion will subside.

Next time though use Coinbase Advanced, this way when you buy BTC you actually have custody of the coins. So when you go to withdraw, your transactions won't be bunched together with lots of others.

This means both network and purchase fees are much much lower on Coinbase Advanced.

If you don't know how to get onto Coinbase Advanced;

Click the nine dots in the top left > click the slider beside 'Coinbase Advanced'

Appreciate the response mate but I've no idea what any of that means sorry, I just know how to place an order get the total value, transfer to coinbase and buy BTC with it then copy and paste the address of the recipient of the coin and send I don't know what bunch transactions means I'm only trying to buy £50 worth of bud 😔

Just keep checking back on Coinbase until the fees go down which they will.

In future learn how to use Coinbase Advanced if you want to avoid having this same issue again.

I think the correct term is 'batching' rather my bad;

"Batching transactions is a process where Coinbase combines multiple transactions into a single batch, which can lead to efficiency gains. Due to these potential efficiency gains, the aggregate amount of estimated network fees paid by users within a given batch may exceed the final network fee paid by Coinbase."

Coinbase advanced has lower fees for trading, but not for withdrawals. Im using coinbase advanced and same issue here. Higher fees than the tx amount

It’s phrased in a strange way, you need at least £56.16 total to include the sending fee.

Strange that I see your available balance at £61.75 though, maybe some of this balance isn’t confirmed and properly available yet? What does it say if you try a lower amount like £30?

Surely not £55 in fees though? To send £53, even before Xmas when fees were crazy it was like £30 on a £150 order

Yep! Never seen them so high as today! Trying to get order in before the weekend and then bam, $66 fees to send. Was bad at Xmas then been mostly fine since, back to a couple of quid. I’ve got $185 and the most it’ll let me pay is about $90. It wants to keep the rest for fees and that dust whatever it’s called.

That's weird mate. I just checked and you should be able to fund at around 5sat/vB for network fees, which should be under £1, and it looks like that's already in your wallet? Has it confirmed and been added to your wallet balance, as it's a remarkably similar amount to what you want to send plus fees?

Hi, yes it's all available balance I only ever transfer what I need plus usually an extra tenner for the fees but it's as if it's not registered I have any funds as you say it's nearly exactly what the cost of my item is that it says I need

I tend to go with revolut bank for crypto, always cheaper than coinbase
