I was watching u tube and a guy was in Swaziland, posing next to great big piles of Swazi Gold. If I heard it right, and I may not have, due to the pot-induced exquisite stupor being experienced, African Swaziland cultivates more hectares of Marijuana than Asian India. The African continent has more hectares under cultivation than the Asian one.
OK. The second one, yes. The image of 'French Swaziland' in my Atlas from 1968 makes its small size difficult to square.
I also have a notion that they were growing bush that was ten feet tall, but now I'm wondering if that featured in a recent dream.
Anyway, getting out the atlas and manhandling it while propped up on a pillow is a right palaver, but one may soon find themselves poring over random pages with wonder. Egypt. I scored some Egyptian hash once on LB. (Hashishin -the Star!) Always knew that they turned on, never had any before.
British Columbia. I knew something about the cool situation there. All of The America's have a weed culture, USA and Canada really at the cutting edge of product development. Not alone in this, of course.
So I scored some Cali Farm type hash. First NA material for me. Casting one's mind back, mid-eighties London had Columbian Grass, which was so good. Sinsemilla, which in Spanish means 'without seed'. Now this has got me wondering and it seems that male plants were removed as soon as identified, to produce a seedless Sinse of the female plant. This enabled more energy fed into THC. From the brainwave of a Mexican Smuggler of 1970 through to an analysis of US weed in 1980, the average US street weed is about 1.8% THC, while Sinse came in @ 6%.
So where did that go? Obsolete to all intents and purposes what with the emergence of genetically-modified feminized seeds.
Turkey. Have you ever scoredTurkish hash? Me, only once. It looked like sort of Morrocan, but the greener colour made it distinct from both Roccy and Leb.
As good a smoke as any other non-Asian puff, though of course it may have been cultivated beyond Europe. 'The Man' at the time, (one of the five of us who would take turns at doing all the legwork and the hanging around and the boneheads one had to sometimes associate with), had a stroke of luck. He was offered a wholesale deal for some Turkish and took it. The gear weighed two ounces more than the amount he paid. Called up, told it's cool. Keep it. So. We all got a bonus as he was decent enough to share it out.
